Chapter 810
Recalling that she still had to celebrate the children's birthday, Genevieve could not afford to pine over Armand.
Wiping her tears, she got into the car and dried herself with a towel before driving back into the city.
Upon arriving at Swallow Garden, Harry, too, wanted to celebrate the children's birthday. Genevieve agreed as she
felt the more the merrier.
Crossing the threshold, she saw the living room had been decorated into a little fairytale paradise. Amanda was
wearing a light blue dress and a party hat, and Steven was standing before her doing magic tricks.
Changing into slippers, Genevieve led Harry into the living room. “I'm sorry for returning late,” she announced.
“Mommy!” Amanda ran into Genevieve's embrace.
“Happy birthday, Sweetie.” Genevieve kissed her daughter tenderly and picked her up before glancing behind. “I
brought Harry along.”
“Happy birthday, Amanda.” Harry handed her a gift.

Amanda tore the wrapper open eagerly and beamed at him upon seeing the crystal hair clip shaped like a butterfly
nestled in the box. “Thank you, Harry, but I'm already wearing a hair clip. I'll wear yours another time!”
Her face alight with a joyful smile, Amanda continued, “Since everybody is here, let's cut the cake so I can make a
birthday wish!”
Genevieve was confused as she watched her daughter run toward a six-tiered cake.
Since she awoke that morning, Amanda had been reminding her mother that she wished to see her father that
night. When Genevieve went to the resort, the child even asked if she would be returning with her father.
Why is she not disappointed that her father did not show up but is somehow very happy instead?
After Cooper lit the candles on the cake, Amanda hurriedly closed her eyes and made a wish. Then, she beckoned
her brother over.
“Come, Lucian. It's your turn to make a wish!”
Lucian closed his eyes half-heartedly. “I hope Amanda will be more obedient and adorable in the future and stop
bullying her brother.”
“What do you mean, Lucian? Am I not adorable now?”

Amanda stamped her feet and gazed up at Genevieve forlornly. “You see, Mommy? Lucian is telling lies about me.
He is the one who has been bullying me! No, Lucian's wish doesn't—”
Before Amanda finished speaking, Lucian blew out all the candles in a single breath and nearly made his sister
weep with consternation.
After they cut the cake, Cooper found the opportunity to pull Genevieve aside to the large windows for a chat. “You
called me an hour ago, Genev. Why did you ask me something like that?”
“Armand isn't dead. He's with Mr. Zane.” Genevieve told Cooper what happened that night when she was at the
resort with Harry.
“Armand didn't flinch when he saw me. He even told Sally I'm his ex-wife he divorced years ago!” Genevieve
became incensed at that recollection. “I called to ask because I thought he had been administered with
Curb.emotion.”
“No wonder we couldn't find him despite the long search.” Cooper sighed.

There would be many bodyguards around a man of Robert's status. His movements would also be so secretive that
nobody could find him if he did not wish to disclose his whereabouts.
“Still, how did he end up with somebody like that?” Cooper asked glumly.
“That's not all. He's already Mr. Zane's godson,” Genevieve informed stiffly, scowling. “Also, he couldn't keep his
hands off Mr.
Loake's daughter. Their wedding is only a matter of time!”
“What?” Cooper was shocked.
With Armand's connections, he would not fraternize with people like that, as he mingles easily with people from the
military, government, and business worlds.
“How did he end up as Robert's godson after he disappeared for so long?”
“It's fine if he was keeping something from me and unwilling to discuss it, but he'd crossed a line,” Genevieve
choked as her eyes grew red. “His disappearance had caused me so much worry. Turns out he has a new woman.”
Genevieve felt awful when the image of Sally caressing Armand and him allowing her to do as she pleased played in
her mind's eye.
