Chapter 1782: Will You Make It for Me? No.
“Is there food in the kitchen?”
Pei Ge revealed a look of surprise as she went downstairs and did not hear Ji Ziming mention that there was lunch prepared for her in the kitchen.
“Yes, Grandma made it. Oh, Grandma, Uncle Charlie, Uncle, and Auntie Mao went to the hospital to accompany Auntie Mao for her follow-up.”
Ran Ran stood up and wanted to bring Pei Ge to the kitchen by herself. She ignored the foam on her hands and quickly walked to the door, pulling Pei Ge into the kitchen.
“Sigh… Ran Ran…”
The sudden touch on her arm made Pei Ge’s lips curl into a smile as she watched her daughter worry for her.
“Ran Ran, slow down. Mommy isn’t hungry yet.”
Pei Ge revealed an awkward expression. She was neither hungry nor did she want to follow Ran Ran into the kitchen. Her legs were in so much pain that she could not walk fast, let alone run fast while pulling her daughter.
The mother-daughter pair rushed into the kitchen and happened to see Ji Ziming wearing an apron as he stood in the kitchen like a chef.
“You… Why are you here?”
Pei Ge stood at the kitchen door in a daze as Ji Ziming took out fresh ingredients from the fridge. The vegetables on the chopping board were cut into different shapes.
“I’m making lunch for you.”
Ji Ziming merely glanced coldly at Pei Ge and Ran Ran. His voice was low and gentle as though he was doing something normal.
“Daddy, you know how to cook.”
Ran Ran went forward and turned on the tap next to Ji Ziming. A clear stream of water flowed from the crystal pipe as Ran Ran slowly washed her hands with her chubby hands while her eyes were on the ingredients in Ji Ziming’s hands.
Frowning, she asked curiously, “Daddy, what delicious food did you make?”
“I can’t tell you now. I’ll tell you later.”
Ji Ziming pretended to be mysterious. Seeing Ran Ran frown, he poked her head with his fair fingers and said, “You little gluttonous cat, do you still want to eat daddy’s cooking?”
“I don’t feel like eating.”
Ran Ran quickly shook her head, her eyes filled with fear. She was stunned when she saw Ji Ziming’s knife and quickly turned off the tap. She walked to Pei Ge and pulled her to the dining table. “Mommy, sit down first.”
“Okay, I’ll sit down and wait for your daddy to cook something delicious for mommy.”
Pei Ge’s beautiful eyes shone as she watched Ji Ziming busy himself with the chopping board. She reminded him, “Ziming, be careful of that knife. It’s very sharp.”
“I know.”
Ji Ziming quickly held the knife in his hand and did not know how to handle the plate of vegetables before him.
“Why don’t you let me do it myself?”
She could not help but laugh at his sluggish actions.
“No need. Sit down and I’ll make lunch for you. Don’t forget that I made you some fragrant tea this morning.”
“Fragrant tea? What fragrant tea?”
Ran Ran, who was sitting beside Pei Ge, suddenly popped her head out and asked curiously, “Daddy, what is fragrant tea? Is it delicious?”
“Delicious, very delicious. What youre daddy made was delicious.”
Pei Ge patted Ran Ran’s head and smiled.
“Then why didn’t I eat it?”
Ran Ran felt a little aggrieved. She really did not get to eat the fragrant tea Ji Ziming made, not to mention whether she would get a share of the lunch he made for Pei Ge.
“Does Ran Ran want to eat it?”
Pei Ge’s smile was gentle as she looked at Ran Ran, who was sitting beside her, being mischievous. Pei Ge could not help but recall how nervous and uneasy Ran Ran was when her life was hanging by a thread in the surgery ward. It was a good thing that she had been by her side like an angel all these years and had always been her caring little jacket.
No matter what the future held for her daughter, Pei Ge had to ensure that she would never give up on her. No matter when, she would never give up on any of the three children because they were all her babies.
No one could take away a treasure that belonged to her.
If someone took it away, she would take it back.
“Mommy, I want to eat it. Daddy, will you make it for me?”
“No.”
One was aloof, and the other was adorable.
Pei Ge, who was sandwiched between the two, had a helpless look on her face. She knew that this pair of father and daughter were real enemies. No matter what, she would not let Ran Ran have her way so easily, much less agree to let Ran Ran have her tea easily.
“Hmph!”
Ran Ran pouted and pretended to be sad. “Daddy, you’re biased. You don’t like me. You like mommy, but I’m your wife.”
Ran Ran recalled that she was Ji Ziming’s little lover, but this identity was rarely used in front of him.
“Oh? You still know that you’re my wife? Your mommy hasn’t had lunch yet, so what are you doing? Shouldn’t you be making lunch for her?”
Ji Ziming turned around and looked at Ran Ran even more gently.
“Okay. I’ll go make it for mommy now.”
Ran Ran was agitated by Ji Ziming and quickly climbed down from the chair. When Ran Ran reached Ji Ziming’s side, he grabbed her by the collar and placed her on the chair by the dining table.
“Do you see the knife in daddy’s hand? Your mommy said that this knife is very sharp. If you make daddy and mommy unhappy today, I will use this knife to deal with you, so you must think carefully. Do you have to insist on doing this? Do you have to make your daddy unhappy?”
Ji Ziming even pretended to show off the knife in his hand when a knife flashed past, scaring Ran Ran so much that she quickly covered her mouth.
“You, don’t scare Ran Ran. If you scare her again, she’ll cry and stop playing with you.”
Pei Ge said exasperatedly.
“Daddy, I won’t let you get angry, and I won’t let mommy get angry. I promise to be good and not say anything here. I won’t do anything but accompany mommy.”
Ran Ran spoke very seriously, but she could not be serious for more than a minute.
After a while, Ran Ran climbed down the table and ran out of the kitchen. She entered the washroom on the first floor and returned to the doll washing team with An An and little Ji Chi.
“Big brother, second brother, let me tell you guys. Daddy is very biased now. Just now in the kitchen, Mommy said that Daddy made some fragrant tea. I asked Daddy to make one for me, but he refused.”
“You only found out now?”
