Chapter 1552: Of course, you will marry me.
“I fell down and got scratched by the rocks on the ground.” Pei Ge smiled at the three children in front of her. She did not expect Ji Ziming to bring them over so quickly, yet her daughter actually accused him of taking too long to drive over.
She knew his driving skills well enough and understood that he had not taken his time. Perhaps, Ran Ran was just too anxious to see her.
“Does it still hurt?”
Ji Chi walked over and gently touched his mother’s slender neck. The blood on the white gauze was exceptionally obvious.
“I’m not in pain.”
The woman’s eyes moistened as she looked at the boy. Her heart and his were getting closer inch by inch.
“I can rub it for you.”
He hesitated for a bit before reaching out to her neck and slowly massaging it. His actions were very gentle and slow; indeed, it felt like a massage she had never experienced before. In any case, because this was her beloved son, it did not matter whether his actions hurt or not.
She only cared about their family being together.
“Mommy, you’re so dumb for actually tripping on your feet.”
The girl blinked her eyes at her mother, noticing the crystal-like tears in the corner of the latter’s eyes. These tears clung onto the woman’s eyelashes like morning dew clinging onto grass. “Mommy, are you crying?”
“I’m not; I’m not.”
She denied it vehemently. Alas, the urge to cry overwhelmed her. It had been a long time since she was with her children like this; this was especially so with Ji Chi. Ever since the boy fell ill, she had been plagued with worry over his health and had been taking care of him. Although Qu Jingwan was with them, it only made her feel more tired.
“Are you very happy because we are here?”
Her daughter hugged her tightly. Bafflement flashed across the girl’s innocent eyes.
“That’s right; I’m very happy to see you guys. Aren’t you happy to see me?” she asked, feeling choked. Standing at the door and looking at them, the man thought that the most important things in life were indeed not material goods but loved ones, instead. Still, compared to his children, he cared more about his woman.
“I’m happy; Mommy, I’ve missed you so much.”
Ran Ran hugged her mother’s arm like a koala bear, unwilling to let go for fear of the latter disappearing in the next second.
“You’ll hurt our mommy like this.”
Ji Chi hurriedly pried off her hands with a look that seemed to say, ‘I’m unwilling to share my territory to others.’
His sister pouted her lips as tears filled her beautiful eyes. “Second brother is being horrible; this is my mommy.”
“She’s my mommy.”
“Mine!”
“Mine!”
The two started bickering; neither was willing to back down. Seeing that both were about to fight, Ji Ziming and An An hurried to separate the two.
“Stop quarreling; no matter whose mommy she is, you are all mine.”
The man’s cold voice was mixed with some warmth. After being separated, both siblings could not help looking up at him with puzzled eyes. “Daddy, quickly let us down.”
The girl flailed her arms about as she looked at him with disdain. “If you still don’t put me down, I’ll sleep with my mommy tonight.”
He swiftly placed his kids down, and the girl stood there unhappily while pouting. “You’re so terrible, daddy. I’ll tell mommy not to marry you.”
“If she doesn’t marry me, who will marry me?”
The man’s lips curled as he looked playfully at his daughter. “Who do you think I should marry if your mom doesn’t marry me?”
“Of course, you’ll marry me!”
Ran Ran lifted her chin as she looked up at her father with an expression that seemed to say, ‘I’m the prettiest in the world!’
Her father was tickled by this little lass. “Did you just say that you’re marrying me?”
“That’s right! Don’t they say that daughters are their fathers’ lovers in the past lives? Daddy, I was once your lover.”
The certainty in the girl’s eyes made everyone burst out laughing, especially the man, whose eyes were filled with laughter following her words.
“Is that so? I might be your past lover, but I’m gonna be your mommy’s partner in this life.”
“Then, what do I do?”
All of a sudden, his daughter got worried. She did not notice her father’s widening smile. “Daddy, if you marry my mommy, what will happen to me? Who will marry me?”
“You lass, how old are you and you’re already asking people to marry you.”
Pei Ge tapped her daughter’s forehead, and the latter leaned backward before standing straight. She then spoke in a serious tone. “Mommy, what will happen to me if my daddy marries you?”
“You’ll of course wait for a better boy to marry you.”
The woman was so tickled by her daughter that she was on the verge of crying from laughter. Where did this lass learn this from?
“Then, when is he gonna look for me?”
Ran Ran was completely drowned in fear of the boy who would look for her to marry her. Seeing these four people laughing at her, she pouted in anger. “I don’t care! I just wanna marry daddy.”
“Alright. Daddy will marry you.”
Ji Ziming hugged his daughter and sat on the sofa as he carefully caressed her hair, which was made messy by the wind. He acted serious when he spoke. “Miss Ran Ran, are you willing to marry Mr. Ji Ziming?”
The girl’s eyes widened. “Daddy, are you really willing to marry me?”
“Stop playing. We’re hosting the ceremony right now. I’ll ask again: Miss Ran Ran, are you willing to marry Mr. Ji Ziming?”
“I do! I do!”
She hurriedly nodded her head as her chubby hands hit his charming features.
“Mhm.”
A clear kiss made the girl satisfied as though she had gotten away with her tricks.
“Mommy, daddy is mine now.”
“Sure. He is yours. I won’t snatch him from you.”
Pei Ge smiled and looked at them playing on the sofa, whereas the two boys in front of her seemed to have grown up.
“Mommy, little brother and I will take care of you next time.”
It seemed that An An was influenced by his sister as he held his younger brother’s hand and looked straight at their mother. “Next time, I won’t let you get scratched by rocks again.”
Tears fell from the woman’s eyes as she hugged her sons tightly. “I’ll be careful next time so that I won’t get scratched by rocks again.”
“You must promise us that this won’t happen again.”
