Chapter 270: A Single Person intimidating an entire Sect
Lu Xuan dealt severe damage with one single hit.
The sectmaster of the Guimen Sect was sent flying as blood continued to spill from his mouth, looking as if he had grown 20 years older in an instant.
His soul seemed to have taken a crippling blow. While it was a blow that did not reflect on his physical body, it was nonetheless a solid hit. He, who seemed old and shriveled to begin with, looked even more so after he had gotten over 20 years older.
“Sectmaster!”
Many throughout the Guimen Sect called out at that moment.
Two figures emerged from the fighters of the sect all of a sudden at that moment. The two of them charged at Lu Xuan like some kind of specter, catching him in a pincer attack.
They were moving impossibly quick.
They deemed themselves to have caught the opportunity to hit.
All of that happened when there was hardly anyone around who was able to react to it all.
The two of them were right before Lu Xuan before long.
Those two were of Celestial Realm level of cultivation in terms of combat prowess, and their powers were doubtlessly above that of the sectmaster of the Wuding Sect.
There was a reason why the Guimen Sect’s power was above that of the Wuding Sect after all.
Boom!
Boom!
Everyone heard two loud rumble blasting all over the place before they knew what happened. They had no idea that Lu Xuan had clenched his fist by then, conjuring a dragon’s claw and blasted the two incoming assailants.
Lu Xuan’s aura was brimming and vigorous, full of vitality and life force—the antithesis of the methods that the Guimen Sect trained in.
The attacks blasted right through the two of them with just a single hit each.
The two of them were thoroughly penetrated and crashed to the ground hard, ending up dead right there and then. Their bodies limp and unmoving.
The sectmaster was severely crippled and on the verge of death, then it was two other elders being taken out in a second.
The disciples of that sect were all baffled at the moment, feeling very dazed and confused.
They had been throwing their weight around and picking on people here and there, due to having backing of a huge and mighty sect. None of them had ever thought that someone would have gatecrashed their place and took the fight to them instead.
Further, that gatecrasher was surprisingly terrifying, and so completely different from anyone they knew before.
“So your Young Master Gui is still gonna keep hiding then?” Lu Xuan asked calmly.
Everyone in the sect who was present finally snapped back to reality by then, recalling that the intruder came specifically for Young Master Gui.
The young master was the hope for the next generation of the sect, who was at the same time, a genius hardly seen in ages within the sect. He had been able to get to Celestial Realm while he had not been training for long. He was thought to have been able to reach even higher heights, if it had not been for the shackles placed on them by the world itself.
Young Master Gui had always been seen as the pride and hope of the sect’s future. No one ever thought that their young master had gotten on the bad side of someone so terrifying.
“Young Master Gui… he went to participating in the Convention of Geniuses in Chang’an,” someone among the disciples of the sect mumbled in fear at the moment.
That disciple actually sold out the young master’s whereabouts to the enemy, yet none throughout the sect went up to stop him, even though the young master was seen to be the hope to the renaissance of the sect for ages.
But then again, a renaissance could only come to a place with people. If their sect were to be wiped out there and then, it would have had nothing to do with them anymore, when renaissance actually came to a sect that belonged to another bunch of people.
Furthermore, that trouble before them was brought about by the young master in the first place, which they deemed to have nothing to do with them.
They saw themselves to be immensely unlucky to be caught in the young master’s mess.
“What about Ling Fei then? Hand her over,” Lu Xuan then continued casually.
Someone in the sect squirmed as they went to bring Ling Fei out before long. Ling Fei hardly changed from the first time he saw Ling Fei over a year ago.
Her pretty face looked rather pale at the moment. It was obviously that she had not seen the sun for quite a while.
However, none in the Guimen Sect went out to torture her. They simply incarcerated her and waited for the young master to deal with her when he came back.
“Father, Mr. Lu.”
Tears were seen in her eyes. She never thought that she would see the light of day ever again.
She had almost lost all hope when she was taken. She heard of Young Master Gui somewhat before. Women who were taken as concubines all eventually ended up as tools to further his cultivation, and they all died horrible deaths.
If it had not been for the sect threatening to act against her father and brother, she would have simply chosen to fight to her death instead.
She knew that her father had been going about places for her sake. However, all of his attempts proved futile. She learned enough since the time she was incarcerated.
She knew what kind of a force the Guimen Sect was, that they were a force reigned supreme throughout the western regions, a force that had been doing evil for many years.
That much was made clear by the fact that even the likes of the Wuding Sect had to hand her over unconditionally, just to gain the Guimen Sect’s favor.
Her only hope—Lu Xuan—was said to have perished in the ancestral land of the vampires a year ago, and everyone knew that given how the empire went all over the place spreading the news.
Her last hope was deemed no more back then.
And yet, just when she had lost all hope, Lu Xuan actually came right before her like he had always been around.
His appearance felt like a ray of sunshine that shot right through her dark, grim days, dispelling the darkness.
“It’s alright. It’s alright now.”
Ling Huang mumbled nothing else, not knowing what to say at that moment.
Ling Fei saw how tired and aged her father looked within just a few months. She knew very well that it was all because of her, and she was incredibly guilt-ridden for it.
However, she quickly composed herself and said to Lu Xuan, “Thank you for saving me, Mr. Lu.”
Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Lu Xuan, as if to say that he was the only ray of hope in her life at the moment.
“It’s nothing,” Lu Xuan replied as he nodded with a smile.
He then turned his gaze at those of the Guimen Sect and said, “I’ve been gone for a year and so, everyone simply thought I was dead then, or they simply thought me to be some small fry they could push around after I get ‘resurrected’ eh. They wouldn’t have dared to do something like this otherwise.”
The faces of those survivors of the sect were ashen when they heard that, as Lu Xuan spoke their mind.
While Lu Xuan’s connection with Ling Fei’s family was not all that well known, the relationship was nonetheless not some hidden secret after all.
Under normal circumstances, no one would have dared to do anything against anyone who even had anything to do with Lu Xuan.
It was especially so in Ling Fei’s case. Those who knew of the relationship between her and Lu Xuan dared not cause any trouble with her. The number of people who would have acted against her was actually smaller than those who would do harm to Lu Xuan’s family.
The reason for that was simple. If anyone were to abduct Lu Xuan’s family, he might actually bear with it, as there was a risk of severe harm coming to his family.
However, acting against Ling Fei might end up simply pissing Lu Xuan off, and worse still, the relationship between her and Lu Xuan did not seem to be more than common acquaintances. If they were to go too far, Lu Xuan might actually act without any consideration for her wellbeing.
Threatening Lu Xuan by taking Ling Fei hostage was undoubtedly seen to be a joke.
But then again, that was when Lu Xuan was still alive.
After news about his death spread all over the place, many came to disregard him altogether.
