Chapter 197: Taking Down a Fighter Jet with a Sword
That surface-to-air missile headed straight for the helicopter that Lu Xuan was riding in.
“Holy sh*t!”
Lu Xuan cursed without a second thought, deeming the move to be a little too direct and aggressive, given how someone decided to take him out right there and then.
He leapt from the helicopter right away. If a person were to fall from such a height, they might have as well crashed onto a hard, rocky surface, even though the sea was right beneath them.
He generated a huge amount of air right beneath his feet, buffering his fall somewhat before generating even more air, buffering his fall even further.
He eventually managed to land on the surface of the sea like a feather.
He swayed about with the waves and did not sink into the water.
Being able to walk on water was one of the inherent capabilities of cultivators, and he would continue to be suspended above the water until his Spiritual Qi reserve ran out.
Lu Xuan took a look in the sky, seeing the helicopter that brought him there was blown to piece, becoming a huge display of fireworks right above his head.
Lu Xuan saw a fighter set zipping past from afar, and the American flag was painted on the aircraft.
There was even an aircraft carrier from the USA seen on the ocean not far away.
Lu Xuan saw another missile hanging under that fighter jet’s wings being launched, and that projectile was heading straight for him, who was still standing above the water.
It was apparent that the pilot detected Lu Xuan from the jet’s radar, acting out against him right away, knowing that he was a cultivator.
“Sh*t!”
Lu Xuan backed away immediately, disappearing from where he stood in a series of flashes.
Booom!
The missile exploded right where Lu Xuan stood moments ago, kicking up massive waves of water.
The force from those missiles was far above that of the usual shells, which meant that they were more than capable than killing even Invincible Vajras.
Lu Xuan stomped, and the seawater beneath parted like it had eyes. He disappeared from the surface at the very next second.
That fighter jet above circled for quite a bit before eventually deciding to descend and stick close to the surface of the ocean, looking for Lu Xuan’s whereabouts.
A frightening flash of the blade was seen shooting out all of a sudden, bursting through the water and hitting the fighter jet.
Lu Xuan managed to seize that chance in less than one-one-thousandth of a second and destroyed that fighter jet with a single thrust of his sword.
Despite sporting an alloy shell, the aircraft was still incapable of withstanding a hit from that sword aura. It ended up being cleaved open like tofu.
Booom!
That fighter jet exploded right where it was, just like how it had been with the helicopter that Lu Xuan was riding on moments earlier, being reduced to a ball of fire and smoke.
Lu Xuan only emerged onto the surface after that.
While having submerged underwater, the Spiritual Qi shrouding Lu Xuan’s body prevented his clothes from being drenched.
That attack was one that had a very small window, and that was only made possible due to Lu Xuan sporting the Delusion-breaker Eyes, which enhanced his dynamic visual acuity to insane levels.
Common Invincible Vajras would not have been able to do anything against fighter jets flying close to supersonic speeds.
There was no way for them to be fast enough to keep up, after all.
Lu Xuan would not have been able to do anything if that fighter jet was still high in the sky, as the aircraft would have been well beyond the range of his attacks.
But, given how the pilot was daring enough to fly close to the water, their fate was sealed without a doubt.
That American fighter jet attacked with extreme prejudice, paying no heed to who was on that helicopter before. That also served as a testament to how tense things were in the region at the moment.
Things were actually tense enough to warrant such absurd measures, after all.
Lu Xuan literally cut down that American fighter jet, which seemed to have infuriated another craft above the water. Several aircrafts were heard zipping past before long.
“Now is not the time to tangle with them.”
Lu Xuan felt rather exasperated. He had limited tricks up his sleeves to deal with the fighter jets in the air.
If he were to be able to get further with his cultivation, the fighter jets would not have been much of a problem, as he would have been able to cut all them down on his own.
Lu Xuan flashed and disappeared from where he stood at that thought, heading straight for Penglai Island faraway, which looked like a city that never slept.
He saw tens of missiles flying in the night sky as soon as he reached the island.
However, the missiles were meant for the island instead of him.
However, there was a faint layer of barrier covering the island, which the dozens of missiles failed to break through despite the firepower they packed.
Booooooooom!
The aftershocks from the massive explosions caused the surrounding waters to shake furiously.
Lu Xuan got onto the island with a single step. While he did not know where those missiles came from, but there was no doubt that the parties involved were getting increasingly impatient with the island.
The authorities no longer pinned all their hopes on the cultivators and had instead fielded increasingly large amounts of high-tech weaponry.
There was actually a possibility of nuclear weapons being deployed if they were to get furious enough.
Lu Xuan stepped onto Penglai Island and discovered that, despite looking like an island from the outside, things were clearly different on the inside. There was first a misty area that seemed endless, which Lu Xuan was about to pass through.
Two figures were seen walking in his direction. Both of them sported a dark complexion, with their appearance suggesting that they were cultivators from Southeast Aisa.
Their eyes lit up right away when they saw Lu Xuan.
“A Huaxian!”
Both of them looked like they chanced upon some kind of rare treasure.
“Vietnamese? So they’re cultivators from Vietnam then.”
Lu Xuan mastered all languages there were on the planet back in his past life, and such abilities were hardly worth mentioning to powerful cultivators.
Their brains would be developed further as they went on further with cultivation, making them all geniuses in terms of learning capacity.
It was very common for many powerful cultivators to be polyglots.
“Get him, and we might be able to locate those two other Huaxians.”
Those two Vietnamese cultivators took a look at each other.
One of them was tall and lanky. He clenched his fist and leapt up, fighting using an extremely ancient set of techniques.
The force of that punch came all the way and was about to hit Lu Xuan in the chest.
However, Lu Xuan disappeared from where he stood at the very next moment. That cultivator blinked, and found Lu Xuan right in front of them, without knowing he had moved.
Lu Xuan launched a palm attack on that cultivator’s chest.
Booom!
That Vietnamese cultivator was sent flying right away, drawing an arc in the air like some kite with a broken thread.
Pfftt!
That Vietnamese cultivator spitted blood right away, looking to have been gravely injured.
The other cultivator, who was of medium build, was baffled by what they just saw. They knew that the one who was gravely injured was someone at Level Eight Deity level after all.
Such a being was someone who had a very esteemed status and practically ruled above all in Vietnam.
That cultivator was regarded as one of the handfuls of the most powerful within Vietnam, yet one such being was made short work of with just a single move.
That other cultivator wondered just what kind of a monster the Huaxian before them was.
“Start talking. If your intel proves to be of interest to me, I might consider letting you go alive.”
