Chapter 340: If You Can’t Beat Him, Run!
“I think so highly of you and yet you don’t even know what is good for you! You should just die!” The old man realized that Ling Chuxi was rejecting him multiple times and his expression suddenly changed. He roared angrily and stretched out his talons towards Ling Chuxi.
Ling Chuxi’s eyes widened. The cold, gloomy energy emerging from the old man’s palm was proof that he had trained in some sinister martial art – it also seemed to be poisonous! One would certainly die if they were scratched by that claw! Ling Chuxi turned around and bolted hastily, running for her life! ‘If I can’t beat him, then I have to run!’ That was definitely the truth!
Ling Chuxi sped off and the old man was stunned. It was only when Ling Chuxi was quite a distance away that he regained his senses. He bellowed angrily, furious, and rapidly gave chase. Ling Chuxi glanced behind and saw that the old pervert was catching up with her. Startled, she increased her speed. The old man shouted loudly from behind her, “Stop now and I’ll leave your corpse intact!”
“Are you an idiot? Whether my corpse was whole or in pieces, I would still be dead. Why would I care about how my corpse looks if I was already dead?” Ling Chuxi hollered back tauntingly, running frenziedly ahead. She found the situation quite ridiculous. People always acted like it was a huge act of kindness when they offered to ‘leave your corpse intact’. Kindness, my arse! The person was already dead and could not be brought back to life, so who cared if the corpse was intact or not? Being alive was better, right?
After hearing Ling Chuxi’s taunting, the old man’s body started to tremble. No one had ever dared to speak to him in this manner, and no one had ever called him an idiot before. Those who dared disrespect him were all dead! This little brat would perish too! The old man ran even faster. Ling Chuxi turned her head slightly and saw the old man approaching. She yelped, used the Battle Qi in her body, and dashed off.
And so it went on – one ran while the other chased, and they just kept running further and further. Ling Chuxi ran with everything she had, even using up the milk she had drank as a baby to help her go faster. She knew that if she was caught, it could only mean death!
“You old pervert! Your legs are of unequal length, and your head will soon resemble the Mediterranean sea. Do you know what that means? It means that only the center of your head will be bald, but there will still be hair growing around it. You will be extremely ugly, so ugly that both gods and humans will be angered by it!” Ling Chuxi used her venomous tongue as she ran. She knew that the old man behind her was easily affected by these words, so every time he was just about to catch up to her, she would attack him with her venomous tongue and he would be so furious that he would tremble and slow down.
“You despicable person, wait until I get my hands on you! I will definitely tear your corpse into ten thousand pieces!” The old man screeched through gritted teeth.
“Come on then, you short-legged old man. You must be suffering from some weird disease, why else would you be sitting in your palanquin all day and having people carry you around? You will soon be returning to heaven, so you should prepare for your funeral and buy a coffin soon. Maybe the boss might even give you a discount, and sell it to you at a cheap price.” Ling Chuxi ran even faster.
“Wah yaya! If I do not manage to kill you, I swear that I am not a human!” The old man behind her roared, twitching uncontrollably in anger.
“You were never a human in the first place, so there’s no point in swearing that!” Ling Chuxi shouted back as she sprinted ahead. “You are just an ugly toad!”
“Wah ah ah ah, I am so pissed off!!!”
…
And so it was – one ran frantically, while the other chased madly. From noon till dusk, and from dusk till dawn…
Ling Chuxi was feeling tired by now. It had been a whole day and night, and she hadn’t had any food or water or sleep. This feeling was unbearable! She had reached the Great Fulfillment, and had gone through Heavenly Lightning Striking The Body, so she could also be considered an expert. But now, she was being chased madly, like a dog fleeing without caring where it was heading. How could she not feel miserable?!
