Chapter 794: Ashamed and Angry
Seeing Little Red faint, Lan Xinyu and Su Xiu’er shrieked.
“Oh no, the little squirrel fainted!”
“Will it die?”
The corner of Ling Chuxi’s lips twitched. Wasn’t this monster beast a little too intelligent? To actually faint from shame and anger! One thing was for sure—this fellow was definitely a male!
…
Just like that, Ling Chuxi had a pet by her side named Little Red. Little Red was a bit odd though. If anyone other than Ling Chuxi wanted to touch it, it would bare its fangs and claws at them. Occasionally. though, it would leap onto Duan Xiaomo and sit on his lap quietly.
People did not understand Little Red’s actions but only the proud Lord Young Master, Little Red, understood that being molested by Ling Chuxi alone was enough. How could he let other people touch him too? He had suffered enough at Ling Chuxi’s hands! Little Red had already sunk so low, but he would still only accept being bullied by Ling Chuxi alone.
During meals, Ling Chuxi purposely prepared a plate for Little Red, and it ate together with everyone at the table. Duan Xiaomo sat at Ling Chuxi’s right while Little Red sat on the table at Ling Chuxi’s left. Now, the Golden Pill Sect had their meals in a specialized canteen, and Ling Chuxi joined everyone for meals there. In the beginning, Su Yizhi objected, but when he noticed everyone sitting together regardless of position or cultivation, he happily accepted it. Ling Chuxi doing so had obviously united the sect.
In the evening, after an entire day of cultivation, Ling Chuxi brought Little Red back to her little courtyard. It was her original courtyard, which the mechanism masters had swiftly rebuilt from the pile of rubble. It now looked even more elegant than before, but it still maintained its ancient, rustic charm. For Ling Chuxi’s safety, Su Yizhi even asked the mechanism masters to set up countless mechanisms outside the courtyard. It was no fortress, but it would at least be impossible for Qing Lingyan to barge in and set up an array like the last time.
Only now did Ling Chuxi understand the position of the mechanism masters in the Sacred Realm of Sects. If they were in the mainland, even if the imperial family were to demand it, it would still take a very long time to repair the courtyard. However, these mechanism masters had actually managed to complete it in such a short period of time.
Of course, the fee of employing these mechanism masters was not cheap either.
When Ling Chuxi returned to her courtyard, she saw Su Yizhi standing there, looking worried.
“Elder Su, are you looking for me?” Ling Chuxi went up to him and asked.
“Yes, Chuxi, have a seat first. I have some matters to tell you,” Su Yizhi said heavily.
“Elder Su, please come in.” Ling Chuxi sat down at a stone table in the courtyard and waited for Su Yizhi to continue. Recently, Su Yizhi had been secretly searching for the Zhen Zong sword that had been left behind by the sect’s ancestors. Could there be some insight to that? Ling Chuxi was a little excited.
“Actually, it is not a big matter. Our Su family has been running businesses for hundreds of years, and we have accumulated quite a bit of property. It was all for the sake of rebuilding our sect, but after returning to the Sacred Realm of Sects, I realized that our Su family’s little bit of property could not be counted as much. Just a few repairs, some belongings, and small gifts for the various great sects has used up half of our Su family’s property which had been accumulated over generations. Ah, I thought too simply in the past.” Su Yizhi chuckled bitterly, not mentioning the Zhen Zong sword at all.
