Chapter 172: Wherever You Are, There I Will Be
“Fine. Forget it. Forget it, then. I won’t be so calculative,” said Ling Chuxi as she waved her hand exaggeratedly and stood up. “All right. Zhuoyi, go and pick branches so we can start a fire and bring back two rabbits. Yichen, get your senior brother out of the water. He is quite weak now.”
“What about you?” asked Xia Zhuoyi as he blinked innocently.
“I’ll sit here and wait for you guys,” replied Ling Chuxi. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and stared at Xia Zhuoyi. “Why? Are you not satisfied with this arrangement?”
“I’m fine. I’m fine with it,” replied Xia Zhuoyi. He originally wanted to raise both his arms to indicate his resignation, but he suddenly remembered that he still had the monster beast’s egg tucked under his armpit. Therefore, he only comically raised a single hand before turning around and leaving to pick firewood and hunt resignedly.
Ling Chuxi turned around and stalked off to look for Little White.
Once Ling Chuxi and Xia Zhuoyi left, Ling Yichen went forward to support Fu Chengyu. “Senior brother, how are you feeling at the moment?”
“I’m fine,” replied Fu Chengyu with a smile. “Is this the Ling Chuxi you mentioned in your letter? If I had not met her by chance today, I really might not have been able to awaken ever again. I really need to thank her properly.”
“Senior brother, Chuxi is actually a very nice girl. Don’t mind her acting like this,” said Ling Yichen as he smiled while feeling somewhat embarrassed. Just recalling Ling Chuxi’s attitude toward Fu Chengyu earlier, Ling Yichen felt that it really could not be counted as something good.
“Of course I don’t mind,” said Fu Chengyu with a smile. “All right. Could you help me get changed into dry clothes? My body does not even have an ounce of strength now. I don’t even know which acupoints Miss Chuxi stabbed earlier. Although the frost poison has been suppressed, I’ve lost all my strength,” said Fu Chengyu as he pointed at a bundle lying nearby.
“Senior brother, the fact that Chuxi can help you solve your frost poisoning is really great!” exclaimed Ling Yichen as he recalled Ling Chuxi’s words. He could not help but feel happy.
“Hopefully, she can really do so,” remarked Fu Chengyu in a soft voice as the corner of his lips curled slightly into a bitter smile.
“She can! Senior brother, I believe that Chuxi can definitely cure you!” insisted Ling Yichen seriously with a solemn expression.
Fu Chengyu felt slightly stunned and startled when he saw the urgency and deep trust in Ling Yichen’s eyes. When had he ever seen the cool and calm Ling Yichen exhibit such an attitude and when had he ever seen him trust someone so deeply? Ling Chuxi. Ling Chuxi… Had she already secured such an important position in Yichen’s heart?
…
At this moment, Ling Chuxi was looking for Little White.
“Little White, Little White!” shouted Ling Chuxi over and over. However due to the steam surrounding the area, she could not perceive Little White’s figure.
She suddenly heard soft splashing sounds coming from behind her. Ling Chuxi was shocked momentarily before quickly turning around. The moment she did, she saw a sight that almost made her nose bleed. In the hot spring behind her was Huangfu Qingjue, lazily leaning against a rock by the side of the water wearing nothing but a thin layer of half-opened inner clothing which displayed his firm and attractive chest. His enchanting silver hair was submerged in the water and his purple eyes were closed slightly as they gazed hazily into the distance. Anyone who saw this scene would be immersed in it. His perfect, exquisite face was obscured due to the steam, but he still looked like an immortal in this setting.
“Huangfu—Huangfu Qingjue! What are you doing here?!” gasped Ling Chuxi. Upon seeing Huangfu Qingjue’s appearance that made one’s blood boil, Ling Chuxi suddenly flushed red and immediately turned around. Even her words could not come out smoothly.
“Wherever you are, there I will be,” replied Huangfu Qingjue with a gentle laugh. His soft voice rang from behind Ling Chuxi. His laughter sounded like the chime of cool moonlight, and as clear as an ice flower. It was incredibly charming.
“You—stop joking around, you!” rebuked Ling Chuxi before running off to a faraway space. After running off into the distance, Ling Chuxi touched her own face. It was scorching! “Huangfu Qingjue, you exhibitionist! Pervert! Hooligan!” Ling Chuxi’s heart was still beating very fast as she muttered scoldings directed at Huangfu Qingjue angrily.
