Chapter 603: Practically a Muddled Misunderstanding
There was a reason as to why Qing Fengyan would roar about Qingjue being hers in such a manner. When Huangfu Qingjue was rushing to Ding Lin Country to seek out Ling Chuxi, he had encountered Qing Fengyan along the way.
That day, the scorching sun was high in the sky and all the passersby in the streets were sweating profusely. One of the teahouses by the roadside had quite good business. Many people had made a stop there to take a rest and drink a cup of cooling herbal tea before going on their way. This teahouse was located under a big tree by the roadside. The tree was so big that even seven or eight people linking arms could not go around the circumference of its trunk, so it was extremely cool under the tree.
In a seemingly simple carriage, Huangfu Qingjue was leaning against the window with his eyelids drooping slightly, reading a book. His features were so perfect and exquisite that even the sight of him was heart palpitating.
“My Lord, there is a teahouse up ahead. Shall we take a break before continuing our journey?” asked a low voice in an extremely respectful tone which emitted over from outside the carriage.
“Oh? That would be good. Anyway, we are about to reach soon,” replied Huangfu Qingjue nonchalantly.
The carriage very quickly stopped in front of the teahouse and Huangfu Qingjue slowly got out of the carriage. All the guests at the teahouse were stunned after seeing Huangfu Qingjue’s looks. Such a peerless, outstanding man… however after taking a clear look at the embroidery on his clothes and then seeing the clothing of his subordinates behind him, they were no longer able to have any blasphemous thoughts towards him. All that was left was the respect and worship that came from the bottom of their hearts! He was a person of Deity Temple!
Huangfu Qingjue sat down with a calm look with his subordinates behind him looking majestic as they all stood behind him with cold, detached expressions. All of them who were from Deity Temple did not even say a word, yet they emitted a strong force of suppression all around them that was hard to describe. It caused the people in the teahouse to be fearful of them and no one dared to approach them to even express their respect and worship. Everyone lowered their heads, not daring to take another look at Huangfu Qingjue, stuffily drinking their tea and eating their food. Their hearts could not help but tremble. Someone of Deity Temple. They were actually drinking tea in the same teahouse with a Lord of Deity Temple!
After resting for a while and drinking a cup of cooling herbal tea, Huangfu Qingjue prepared to depart once again. The waiter standing by the side suppressed his excited inner feelings and sent off Huangfu Qingjue politely.
When Huangfu Qingjue walked over to his carriage parked by the side of the road and was just about to board it, a wave of horse hooves could be heard coming from the right side of the nearby forest. A carriage was speedily approaching from that direction and behind it were a few graceful young maidens on horseback. Then, the carriage stopped not too far in front of Huangfu Qingjue’s carriage.
Huangfu Qingjue was not bothered and was just about to board his carriage when a sharp howl came ringing through the air. It was a monster beast! A Flesh Crowned Bird monster beast! This kind of monster beasts was a flying type. They had fast speeds, sharp claws and pointed beaks. A huge flesh crown rested atop their heads, giving these Level 6 monster beasts their names.
Huangfu Qingjue squinted slightly. There was actually a monster beast appearing in this place?
Shrill screams could be heard coming from within the teahouse as the people looked on in terror at the monster beast diving downwards at them.
Huangfu Qingjue raised his head slightly and lightly waved his sleeves. The monster beasts’ sharp howls suddenly stopped and after that, it fell headlong without any strength left, dropping to the ground without a breath. Then Huangfu Qingjue calmly got into his carriage. His subordinates also leapt onto their horses backs and all of them slowly departed.
Such a dangerous scene had been so easily resolved by Huangfu Qingjue. As he calmly departed, the crowd left behind sent off his carriage with fiery gazes full of worship.
At this moment, the four young maidens on horseback respectfully invited the person in the carriage they were trailing to get alight, “Miss, would you like to rest for a bit before continuing our journey?”
“Just now, was that person in front of us someone from Deity Temple?” asked Qing Fengyan’s voice from within the carriage.
“Yes, Miss,” one of the handmaidens standing outside respectfully replied.
