Chapter 804: Attachment
“If everything goes smoothly, half a month will do,” Cang Yuan replied after thinking about it.
“Alright, I’ll get ready in the meantime.” Ling Chuxi figured she could collect the Cang Yuan shard before they went to visit every sect. It would be much easier to face any troubles after that anyway.
After that, Cang Yuan disappeared into the Luo Chen sword. A while later, a few dark brown spots appeared on the bright sword body. It was obvious that the Cang Yuan Sword Spirit was re-tempering the Luo Chen sword, removing the impurities in it little by little.
Duan Xiaomo had his eyes tightly shut and seemed like he would not be waking up anytime soon. He needed some time to adapt to the sudden recovery of his memory, and although his emotions were not complete, the death of his parents would certainly have left some shadows in his heart. Bearing the pain of losing both his parents at such a young age, he was probably not as composed as he looked.
Looking at the slight frown on his face, Ling Chuxi touched his cheek fondly and covered him with the quilt, not waking him up.
Ling Chuxi used to feel like she had been through a lot, but her situation was still quite lucky compared to Duan Xiaomo’s. After all, her parents were still alive, and there was still hope for a family reunion. Also, she had a big brother who cared about her in his own way even though he was not always around.
Thinking about her big brother, a warm smile bloomed on Ling Chuxi’s face. She had no idea where he was. Had he gotten stronger? Ling Chuxi decided that once she found the Golden Pill Sect’s Cang Yuan shard, the first place she would visit would be the Flowing Clouds Sect.
The night was cold and a cool breeze entered through the window. Duan Xiaomo turned over and clung tightly to Ling Chuxi. His frown disappeared and his breathing became deeper.
Ling Chuxi didn’t feel sleepy, so she contemplated the Cang Yuan Seven Sword styles that the Cang Yuan Sword Spirit had just used. After practicing for such a long time, she thought she had already more or less comprehended it, but after seeing his sword intent, she knew that the mysteries of this sword far surpassed her imagination.
Immersed in thoughts of the sword intent, Ling Chuxi’s mind gradually fell into an empty state.
As the sky slowly grew brighter, Ling Chuxi retreated from her cultivation. She opened her eyes and looked around, and saw Duan Xiaomo sitting beside her quietly. It seemed like he had been awake for a while. His eyes were no longer empty and confused like in the past, but she had no idea what he was thinking about.
“Xiaomo, you’re awake! How do you feel?” Ling Chuxi asked, holding Xiaomo’s hand.
“Good.” Duan Xiaomo nodded. Although his face was expressionless, Ling Chuxi could feel his attachment towards her.
“Chuxi, Xiaomo, how was it?” At that moment, Duan Feiyu’s quavering voice came from the outside.
Ling Chuxi jolted, only now recalling that they had a guardian standing outside. Xiaomo had slept well and she had cultivated for a while, but Duan Feiyu had been standing guard all night.
When she opened the door, she saw Duan Feiyu’s pale face, the frost on his hair making him look like an old man. Although the Sacred Realm of Sects was separated from the outside world by the barrier of the array, the temperature was still very low at night. In order to protect Ling Chuxi, Duan Feiyu hadn’t dared to use his qi to resist the cold. He was so cold that his whole body was stiff and his limbs felt like they were frozen. He really could not hold on for much longer.
“No serious problems for now.” Ling Chuxi was a little embarrassed. Cang Yuan had long finished the treatment, but she had forgotten that there was a man standing outside in the cold wind for most of the night.
Duan Feiyu looked at Duan Xiaomo and realized that he was very different from before. Although there was no expression on the little boy’s face, Duan Feiyu could no longer see emptiness and confusion in his eyes.
