Chapter 995: Spying on My Phone?
Song Yao looked at the female bodyguard and said, “The next time Sir or Saihand asks you, just tell them what you heard. It’s okay, there’s nothing that needs to be kept a secret!”
The female bodyguard paused, then nodded. “Got it, Madam!”
Back in her room, Song Yao felt panicked for some reason.
She couldn’t resist taking out her phone, wanting to ask Su Huan about how he was doing. But she feared that if Cen Mo found out about this phone call, he would feel uncomfortable and take vicious action against Su Huan…
After a long while, Song Yao finally recalled the WeChat she hadn’t deleted. After a great deal of hesitation, she decided to send Su Huan a WeChat message…
‘Did something happen to you?’
After the message was sent out, Song Yao deleted it from her interface.
Very quickly, Song Yao received a reply from Su Huan…
‘Minor issue, don’t worry!’
When Su Huan received Song Yao’s message, he was fretting about his inability to go back home.
There were no direct flights between China and Morocco to begin with, and the need to transfer to a different flight meant it was particularly time-consuming. But now… he couldn’t even buy a plane ticket to return to China!
He asked his assistant to buy a ticket to anywhere that flew directly to China, as he could then transfer from there. But he was detained by the Moroccan police, who accused him of being involved in a fraud case!
Right now, Su Huan wasn’t detained yet, just unable to depart from the country.
When Song Yao saw the words “minor issue”, she knew something had happened!
Clutching her phone, Song Yao replied very quickly…
‘Can you tell me what happened?’
Having gotten no reply for a long time, Song Yao felt even more panicked, pacing back and forth in the bedroom. After half an hour, Su Huan still hadn’t replied, so she couldn’t resist calling him.
The person who picked up was Su Huan’s assistant. He said that Su Huan was asked to go over to assist in an investigation. Su Huan’s assistant told her about Su Huan’s father, who was in a critical condition, and said that Su Huan was being detained in Morocco and was unable to return to China. He was even afraid that Su Huan wouldn’t be able to make it home to see his father for the last time.
“Is Su Huan’s father in critical condition?” Song Yao asked.
“Yes. I didn’t dare tell President Su, but the doctor estimates that he won’t be able to hold on for long!”
Song Yao was quiet for a long while before saying to the assistant, “I got it, I’ll try to think of a way. Tell Su Huan not to be anxious.”
After hanging up, Song Yao clutched her phone tightly, hugging her arm with one hand as she stood before the French windows, thinking of how to talk to Cen Mo. At this moment, the bedroom door opened…
Song Yao turned around. Seeing Cen Mo unbuttoning his shirt with one hand and closing the door with the other, her heart started beating rapidly. She walked over and placed her phone on the bedside table, then asked, “Why have you come back? Where’s Tuan Tuan?”
“Tuan Tuan is already asleep…” Cen Mo didn’t look at Song Yao. He picked up his home clothes and stood at the foot of the bed, removing his shirt in silence before putting on a navy blue hemp fabric long-sleeved V-neck T-shirt.
Song Yao licked her lips and walked to Cen Mo’s side. She picked up the shirt he casually tossed on the bed and held it in her arms. She gazed at Cen Mo, not knowing how to say it.
“You’re thinking of a way to help Su Huan?” Cen Mo turned his head and looked at Song Yao, taking the shirt from her arms.
Song Yao’s lips parted slightly. She was shocked and surprised. She watched as Cen Mo casually sat down on the stool, gazing at her with his black eyes…
“You… are spying on my phone?” Song Yao asked.
“Right!” Cen Mo admitted in a forthright manner.
Originally, Cen Mo had this intention since Song Yao got pregnant. But because Song Yao had been obediently staying by his side, he never truly monitored her phone.
Cen Mo would absolutely not allow Song Yao, who was pregnant with his child, to think of running away. Or… to abort the child!
When Song Yao and Su Huan bumped into each other by accident, she had even sent the bodyguard away to chat. This was what led Cen Mo to decide to spy on Song Yao’s phone.
Song Yao clenched her fists, restraining the emotions that were overwhelming her. She asked Cen Mo, “What right do you have to spy…”
Just as she started blurting out those words of anger, she forced herself to swallow the rest back down.
She couldn’t regard Cen Mo as a normal person. Thinking of Cen Mo’s past experiences, Song Yao let out a long exhale to calm down. She walked to Cen Mo, both hands holding his knees as she knelt down. She looked up at Cen Mo. “Since you were spying on my phone, you should know that this was the first time I’ve contacted Su Huan in a long time! We bumped into each other by accident this afternoon… Because you’re too possessive over me, I worry that you might do something to Su Huan, so I’ve been feeling uneasy!”
“What are you afraid I’ll do to Su Huan?” Cen Mo spoke with a hint of a smile. “Heartache?”
Song Yao shook her head. “It’s guilt. I thought I made myself clear today at the restaurant! Towards Su Huan, I’m filled with guilt. Even though there’s nothing I can do to make it up to him, I don’t wish to bring Su Huan any trouble because of me!”
Cen Mo nodded in mock seriousness, then said, “In the future, I’ll keep your phone for you. I’ll return it to you after you give birth to the child…”
“You still don’t believe me?” Song Yao gazed at Cen Mo with red, watery eyes.
Song Yao’s phone rang on the bedside table. She looked over and was about to get up to take her phone when Cen Mo held her back by her elbow.
Song Yao gazed at Cen Mo…
“You don’t need to worry about Su Huan’s affairs. The most important thing for you is to focus on your pregnancy! I believe you!” Cen Mo helped Song Yao up by holding her wrist. “I hope you can do things that make me believe in you!”
The phone on the bedside table was still vibrating. Song Yao frowned and watched as Cen Mo placed his shirt on the stool and walked towards the bedside table.
He bent over to pick up her phone. When he saw the number, he snickered and turned the phone off.
Song Yao could no longer suppress the aggrieved feelings and rage she had been containing within. “Cen Mo, what do you regard me as? My freedom is restricted! My rest schedule is arranged by you! You decide what I eat! You’re even taking away my phone! You’ll only be satisfied when I’m fully under your control! Do you still regard me as a person? Don’t I have friends I need to contact? Or… do you think I’m your pet?”
Cen Mo looked at the aggrieved and furious Song Yao, his expression calm. “I’ll give you a new phone later. You can contact whichever friend you want… I won’t interfere. But Su Huan can’t be among them…”
Cen Mo slipped the shut-off phone into his pocket, then put one hand in his pocket and looked at Song Yao. “I’m already doing all I can to be good to you. If you still feel I’m treating you like a pet, then think whatever you want!”
Song Yao looked at Cen Mo’s sullen face as he walked towards the door. When they brushed shoulders, Song Yao grabbed Cen Mo’s arm. “Cen Mo… I won’t leave you. You don’t like me contacting Su Huan? I’ve never contacted him before. This is the first time. This time… Su Huan’s father is hospitalized. If Su Huan doesn’t make it back, he might not be able to see his father…”
