Seeing that, Uncle Blessing quickly said, “Mr. Jiang, please come in as well!”
After saying that, Uncle Blessing turned to speak to Fu Huai’an and Lin Nuan, “It hasn’t been long since Mr. Jiang arrived…”
Fu Huai’an nodded, conducting himself with dignified composure.
Lin Nuan nodded toward Jiang Chengyuan as a greeting. After all, he was Fu Huai’an’s biological father. However, Fu Huai’an didn’t seem to want to recognize him as his father, so Lin Nuan could only treat it as if she didn’t know anything.
Fu Tianci raised his brows and assessed Jiang Chengyuan when he walked past him. He felt that Jiang Chengyuan actually looked amicable, feeling as if he had met him somewhere before.
Fu Tianci followed Lin Nuan and entered the house. Aunt Blessing was squatting in front of Tuan Tuan, helping him take off his down jacket. She said in a soft and gentle voice, “It must be freezing outside, right? Is Jincheng colder than Haicheng?”
Tuan Tuan shook his head docilely, his fair face appearing incredibly tender and adorable.
Aunt Blessing’s heart felt like it was going to melt. She removed Tuan Tuan’s jacket and took his hand, bringing him to wash his hands.
Tuan Tuan turned back to look at Lin Nuan, only leaving with Aunt Blessing after he saw Lin Nuan nodding her head.
Fu Tianci had stayed in a small house before and didn’t mind that Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing’s place was small.
There was a set of fabric sofas that Aunt Blessing had meticulously made sofa covers for. The sofa covers were washed very cleanly, and it was apparent that they had been used for a very long time, as their colors had faded from all the washing. The wall behind the sofas had a cross-stitch that Aunt Blessing had done herself. It was a gorgeous peach blossom garden!
The living room was a little narrow, but it was filled with heartwarming scenes from their life.
There was a small furnace in the house, and the smoke was directed from the exhaust that led outside the window. Some snacks were being toasted on the furnace, as well as a lot of oranges lying around next to it. The entire house was filled with the smell from the toasted oranges, and it smelled very pleasant.
The house had a floor heating system to begin with, and it was because they knew that Fu Huai’an was coming today that Uncle Blessing had specially prepared the furnace…
When they were chatting in the past, Uncle Blessing had heard Fu Huai’an mention in passing that when he was young and was living with his grandmother, the one thing he enjoyed the most was setting up a furnace in the house when it was snowing in winter. His grandmother would toast snacks and oranges for him.
Lin Nuan took off her down jacket. Fu Huai’an took it from her and hung it up, then took off his wool coat.
Uncle Blessing got Little Lu and Fu Tianci to take a seat, but Fu Tianci walked over to the door and looked at the courtyard outside through the glass.
Little Lu expressed his thanks and sat at the side.
When Aunt Blessing brought Tuan Tuan back, she saw Fu Tianci standing there and looking outside. She smiled and asked, “This young lad is…”
“Fu Tianci…” Fu Huai’an spoke up.
“Tianci? That’s a really good name!” Aunt Blessing smiled. “Tianci… come over and have some toasted snacks!”
Fu Tianci nodded docilely, taking a seat next to Lin Nuan. He received the toasted snacks that Aunt Blessing had placed onto a plate and expressed his thanks earnestly.
Ever since Tuan Tuan came back after washing his hands, Jiang Chengyuan’s gaze had never left him.
He saw Tuan Tuan cuddling up in Lin Nuan’s arms while Lin Nuan was holding onto a small plate with snacks. She picked up a snack with a pair of chopsticks, blew on it, then brought it to Tuan Tuan’s mouth, telling him to take small bites and to be careful because it was hot.
Fu Huai’an sat at the side with his legs crossed, holding onto an orange that had been toasted to a brownish color. He peeled it, then his long and slender fingers with distinct joints sent a piece of the orange to Lin Nuan’s lips.
Little Lu was good at taking cues. He went to the kitchen and helped Aunt Blessing bring out a bowl of fermented rice with eggs for everyone. The entire room was filled with the fragrance of various foods.
Jiang Chengyuan wanted to talk to Tuan Tuan, but he kept on holding it in due to his reservations towards Fu Huai’an.
Tuan Tuan’s big eyes looked over at Jiang Chengyuan, and the latter’s eyes turned red, his heart struck by warmth as he smiled toward Tuan Tuan.
Tuan Tuan held onto a piece of orange in his hand and blinked his big eyes as he looked at Jiang Chengyuan. He didn’t turn his gaze away.
Jiang Chengyuan’s throat rolled, and he took an orange from the furnace. He peeled it and said to Tuan Tuan affectionately, “Does Tuan Tuan still want to eat? Grandpa can help you peel an orange.”
Tuan Tuan’s mouth was filled with snacks, and he didn’t say anything. He simply raised the orange in his hand to show that he still had some.
Jiang Chengyuan subconsciously threw a glance at Fu Huai’an, and seeing that Fu Huai’an had his gaze lowered and was focusing on peeling the orange in his hand, seemingly not against him talking to Tuan Tuan, Jiang Chengyuan said, “Tuan Tuan, do you want to come over to Grandpa? Let Grandpa carry you…”
Jiang Chengyuan’s voice was choking a little.
Tuan Tuan leaned into Lin Nuan’s arms, not moving.
“Old man, you’re very strange. Our child has no relationship with you, so why do you want to carry him?” Fu Tianci crossed his legs and leaned against the sofa in a relaxed manner. He held onto a bowl of fermented rice with eggs and took a sip of it, frivolously conducting himself. “You’ve been staring at our kid ever since we came. People who don’t know might think that you’re a human trafficker!”
Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing’s initial impression of Fu Tianci was that he was a polite and good-looking young man who seemed as if he had walked out of a comic. However, Fu Tianci exposed his true nature the moment he spoke, destroying the image that Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing had of him.
Lin Nuan was rendered speechless.
As expected, Fu Tianci was still Fu Tianci. It was impossible for him to turn into a good kid.
Lin Nuan glanced toward Fu Tianci, and the latter was stunned when he met Lin Nuan’s gaze. He subconsciously put down his crossed legs, sat up with his back straightened, and lowered his head to take a sip of the fermented rice with eggs that he was holding.
By the time Fu Tianci reacted to this, he felt a little anxious. Why did he become docile from a single glance from Lin Nuan?
Jiang Chengyuan felt awkward from Fu Tianci’s words.
Aunt Blessing smiled and said awkwardly, “This kid is really straightforward with his words…”
Fu Tianci’s ears turned a little red.
“Mama!” Tuan Tuan suddenly called out to Lin Nuan, turning his head and resting one hand on her knees. He raised the piece of orange up high and tiptoed, wanting to feed it to Lin Nuan.
Lin Nuan rubbed Tuan Tuan’s small head. “Tuan Tuan can eat it! Mama won’t be eating it…”
Fu Huai’an looked at the adorable Tuan Tuan and rested his big hand on his head. He smiled and rubbed Tuan Tuan’s head.
Tuan Tuan smiled, revealing his row of white teeth. His eyes bent into crescent moons, looking extremely adorable.
Jiang Chengyuan looked at this scene from afar, recalling that Jiang Ming’an had also been docile and adorable when he was young. It was just that… back then, Jiang Chengyuan hadn’t treasured the Jiang Ming’an who had loved his parents with all of his heart.
Finding it hard to conceal the bitterness in his heart, his eyes watered and turned red.
“Huai’an, can we go out and have a talk?” Jiang Chengyuan controlled the trembling in his voice and asked softly.
Fu Tianci looked toward Fu Huai’an, and when he saw Fu Huai’an standing up, he turned to look toward Jiang Chengyuan. He suddenly felt that… this old man who kept staring at Tuan Tuan shared a resemblance with Fu Huai’an!
A thought suddenly struck Fu Tianci. He recalled that Lu Qingmei had brought up Fu Huai’an’s parentage before. Could it be that… this person was Fu Huai’an’s father?
After watching Fu Huai’an and Jiang Chengyuan leave, Fu Tianci immediately turned to ask Lin Nuan, “That person is Fu Huai’an’s biological father, right?”
Lin Nuan was rendered speechless.
How was she supposed to reply to this?
The moment Tuan Tuan heard that, he threw a glance at Fu Tianci, then turned back and looked at Lin Nuan, appearing like a curious baby.
“This… I’m not too sure, either!” Lin Nuan tried to speak ambiguously.
“He must be! Look at them! I heard that old man Fu mentioned to my mom before that Fu Huai’an’s father is an irresponsible jerk! He caused the elder sister that I never got a chance to meet to have to raise Fu Huai’an by herself. In the end, things were too hard on her, and she died of an illness!” Fu Tianci said seriously.
Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing were confused by the conversation. Wasn’t this good-looking young man Lin Nuan’s younger brother? How did it become that his elder sister had brought up Fu Huai’an?
Little Lu had been sitting by the side and hadn’t interrupted. He kindly introduced Fu Tianci to Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing, saying, “Uncle Blessing, Aunt Blessing, this is Fu Tianci. He’s the… son of Sir’s grandfather. In terms of seniority, he’s considered Sir’s uncle.”
Little Lu hadn’t used “illegitimate son” to refer to Fu Tianci.
Both Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing’s eyes opened wide, their expressions that of disbelief.
Weren’t there rumors outside that Fu Huai’an and this illegitimate son were vying for the Kaide Corporation? Why would Fu Huai’an bring this illegitimate son over?
Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing had never asked about Fu Huai’an’s life. They felt that it was his own matter and also that it wasn’t their place to interfere.
The two of them felt that it could be that there were some mistakes with the rumors.
It was just that, this young man’s seniority had suddenly risen up, with him becoming Fu Huai’an’s uncle. Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing… suddenly didn’t know how they should be treating Fu Tianci!
Could they… still speak to Fu Tianci as if they were talking to a kid?
“Uncle Blessing, Aunt Blessing, although Tianci is considered Huai’an’s uncle in terms of seniority, he’s still a child after all. Just treat him as a child in your own family…” Lin Nuan placed the bowl she was holding onto the coffee table, looked at Tuan Tuan, and smiled. “Just treat him as you would Tuan Tuan!”
When Fu Tianci heard Lin Nuan say this, his ears suddenly flushed. He turned and pretended to stare at the bowl in his hands, and his throat rolled a little.
Treat him… like a child, like Tuan Tuan?
Fu Tianci’s heart began to feel a slight itch, and even his palms were starting to itch. His face also seemed to be starting to burn.
“Tsk, you’re the one who’s a kid like Tuan Tuan!” Fu Tianci turned his head away, his heart beating very quickly. He held onto the bowl containing the fermented rice with eggs in one hand while resting his other elbow onto the sofa’s armrest and supporting his head as he looked outside.
Little Lu couldn’t help but smile. He knew that Fu Tianci was feeling embarrassed.
Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing looked troubled. He must not like being treated like a kid! It seemed that this was what kids these days were like…
“Uncle Blessing, Aunt Blessing, there’s no need to be too concerned. Tianci’s character is awkward to begin with!” Lin Nuan lowered her head and looked at Tuan Tuan. “Isn’t that right, Tuan Tuan?”
Tuan Tuan nodded solemnly toward Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing. “En! Awkward!”
Both Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing were so amused that they broke out into laughter.

Outside the door, Jiang Chengyuan, after having seen Tuan Tuan, was having some difficulty controlling his emotions. He turned back and glanced toward the room, which was now filled with laughter. “You’ve brought up Tuan Tuan well! These years… it’s been hard on you, bringing up a child by yourself!”
Fu Huai’an stood under the roof, his hands in his pockets. He looked toward the big tree that was covered in snow. “So, the reason you’ve come to Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing’s place today was to see if I’ve brought up Tuan Tuan well?”
“Huai’an…” Jiang Chengyuan’s voice sounded helpless. “I’m here to visit Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing. I didn’t know that you guys were going to bring Tuan Tuan here today. It was Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing who told me today that you guys would be taking them to Haicheng… to attend your wedding!”
Jiang Chengyuan’s voice was filled with endless loneliness.
Fu Huai’an came to Jincheng to fetch Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing—people whom he had no relationship with—to attend his wedding. Yet, he was unwilling to meet him, who was his biological father. How could Jiang Chengyuan’s heart not ache?
Jiang Chengyuan’s words had just ended when he saw a big golden head pushing open the door and peeking in.
The moment Little Blessing saw Fu Huai’an, it immediately squeezed in through the door and ran toward him, wagging its tail and crying out for attention.
Fu Huai’an bent over and stroked Little Blessing’s head. Little Blessing sat in front of Fu Huai’an, reaching out its neck and using its nose to push against Fu Huai’an’s palm. It also put out its tongue and licked him.
When Jiang Chengyuan saw Fu Huai’an squatting down and stroking the smooth golden hair under Little Blessing’s neck, he said in a soft voice, “Huai’an… Your wedding, if it’s convenient, I’d like to attend it as well!”
As if fearing that Fu Huai’an would reject him, Jiang Chengyuan quickly said, “I’ll just take a look from afar…”
“The wedding that I prepared for Xiao Nuan isn’t meant as a show for other people.” Fu Huai’an’s voice was calm, just like how he was speaking with Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing earlier. Jiang Chengyuan couldn’t hear any ripples from it.
“Even Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing can attend, but I can’t? I’m your biological father!” Jiang Chengyuan intentionally deepened his voice.
Fu Huai’an lowered his head and looked at Little Blessing, who was trying its hardest to act adorable, and let out a soft laugh.
Jiang Chengyuan clenched his fists, and he suddenly recalled what Fu Huai’an had said previously…
He had said, “Your surname is Jiang. My surname is Fu, and so is the child’s. Whose grandfather are you?”
Seeing Fu Huai’an turn his head and turn his deep and compelling gaze toward him, Jiang Chengyuan’s throat suddenly felt swollen and painful. He feared that Fu Huai’an would reply with that.
Before Fu Huai’an said anything, Jiang Chengyuan said, “I know that my surname is Jiang… and your surname is Fu! But it’s an undeniable fact that you have my blood in you! At least half of your life was given to you by me!”
Hearing Jiang Chengyuan say this, the hand Fu Huai’an was using to stroke Little Blessing paused for a moment, and his smile deepened.
Fu Huai’an stood up under Jiang Chengyuan’s slightly trembling gaze. He put both his hands in his pockets and looked at Jiang Chengyuan, who was slightly shorter than him. “That half of my life… Didn’t I return it to you back in the Golden Triangle?”
Jiang Chengyuan’s heart felt as if it had been gripped tightly by a big hand, and he was in so much pain that he had difficulty breathing.
Fu Huai’an was referring to how Bi Wenyan had resorted to trickeries to send Fu Huai’an to the Golden Triangle!
Even now, Jiang Chengyuan could still remember that he had agreed to this. Before Fu Huai’an set off, he had gone to meet him and told him to perform the mission with peace of mind. However, there had been multiple times in which Fu Huai’an almost lost his life there…
“In the future, don’t come to Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing’s place! Putting aside the fact that you’ll be disturbing their peace…” Fu Huai’an’s expression was indifferent, assuming its usual calm and mature appearance. “Even if Uncle Blessing and Aunt Blessing were to bring it up, there’s no way that I’d be able to sit down and put up the act of a close father and son relationship with you.”
The green veins on the back of Jiang Chengyuan’s hands popped up. His heart felt as if it was being gripped tightly by a big hand, and he was in so much pain that he couldn’t make a single sound.
“The reason I came is to commemorate your grandmother! It’s not what you think it is!” Jiang Chengyuan explained.
Fu Huai’an nodded as if he fully understood. “That’s for the best!”
Taking a look at his watch, Fu Huai’an felt that it was about time for them to set off. Little Lu, who was looking outside, noticed Fu Huai’an’s action of checking his watch and quickly said, “Uncle Blessing, Aunt Blessing, it’s about time for us to set off…”
