Lin Nuan swept her card and entered the broadcasting building. She learned her lesson from last time and walked down with her head down, her cap still on, and headed straight for Miss Xia’s office.
Many colleagues from “Morning News Daily” greeted Lin Nuan.
Lin Nuan was undoubtedly popular now because of her show “A Sunday Date”!
In her office, Fang Yan was wearing casual sporting clothes. Her hair was cut short, and she had a gender-neutral look. Lin Nuan would have mistaken her for a cute twenty-year-old boy if she hadn’t already known Fang Yan was a thirty-year-old woman.
Fang Yan was sitting on the sofa with her legs crossed when Lin Nuan knocked and entered. She was using her phone and laughing as she talked with Miss Xia, who was leaning on the desk and smoking.
Fang Yan stood up and flashed a bright smile when she saw Lin Nuan enter.
Fang Yan said she had an eye for people; she instinctively felt that Lin Nuan had a bright future ahead of her. When she knew that “A Sunday Date” was Miss Xia’s show, she immediately contacted Miss Xia.
Fang Yan negotiated the advertisement contract, and the total was two million for Lin Nuan. This was something even Lin Nuan couldn’t imagine…
Fang Yan smiled as she saw her shocked expression. “AG intends to sign the contract with you, but I think there’s no rush for this. I’ve heard you have a scene in the movie ‘Jiang Mozhuan’. Once the movie is out, we’ll negotiate with them. I’ll try to get you the highest profit possible. So put on a good performance, even if it’s only one scene!”
Lin Nuan fell silent for a moment and said, “Ms. Fang, I may have different plans for my future development. I don’t intend to be involved in movies. I simply want to look into social issues and expose them to the public.”
“Ambitious!” Fang Yan smiled genuinely, without being mad or mocking. “But are our plans in conflict with one another?”
“The issue is time and energy…” Lin Nuan answered honestly. “I went on the movie set because I owe Su Manman one. That’s why I didn’t decline the offer.”
Fang Yan nodded. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll organize it for you! We can talk it over. I never force people to do things.”
Miss Xia told Lin Nuan that Fang Yan was her friend and that she could be trusted.
Lin Nuan thought about how they managed to settle such a huge contract. She pondered for a moment then signed the agreement in Miss Xia’s office.
Fang Yan took the contract and said to Miss Xia, “Cuifen… I’ll be on my way!”
Just as she finished speaking, Miss Xia grabbed the files on her desk and tossed them in Fang Yan’s direction.
Fang Yan dodged them promptly and smiled at Miss Xia. “Apologies! I forgot… Goodbye now! Miss Xia!”
Lin Nuan realized later on that Miss Xia’s original name was Xia Cuifen. Because she thought it sounded tacky, Miss Xia only introduced herself as Miss Xia to others without mentioning her original name.
Miss Xia was so mad that her hand was shaking. She turned around and said, “Don’t you dare tell anyone…”
Her eyes were full of warning. Lin Nuan nodded profusely.
Lin Nuan didn’t expect to see Gu Hanyan still waiting at the entrance when she left the broadcasting building.
Lin Nuan had already said goodbye to Wen Moshen and their past that day at the entrance.
Lin Nuan had Fu Huai’an and Tuan Tuan now; her life was completely different. She wanted to put more of her attention on them, rather than meddle in other people’s lives.
She didn’t care for Wen Moshen and Gu Hanyan’s life together, especially what Gu Hanyan was up to daily. No matter what, she chose to marry him.
Gu Hanyan didn’t say anything and looked at Lin Nuan. Seeing that Lin Nuan walked away, Gu Hanyan followed behind her.
“Are you stalking me now?” Lin Nuan turned, laughing in anger.
Gu Hanyan took off her glasses with her eyes wet. “I hope that you and Wen Moshen can get together since you love each other. Why would I put myself in the middle?”
“Weren’t you in love with Wen Moshen on the show?” Lin Nuan asked.
Gu Hanyan clenched her fists.
“Now you want us to get together again? Are you that in love, or do you just want to get rid of him and find someone else?”
Lin Nuan didn’t bother to be nice anymore now that she was irritated.
Gu Hanyan thought Lin Nuan would agree to anything since she agreed the first time she approached her.
That time, Lin Nuan did it for Wen Moshen. Gu Hanyan had no place in it at all.
“Do you know what Wen Moshen did to me?” Gu Hanyan lowered her voice as she tried to hold back her tears, her body shaking.
“This has nothing to do with me. There is no friendship between us. If you’re unhappy, talk to your own friends about it!’
Lin Nuan waved for a taxi. Before she could get on, Gu Hanyan ran over and held the door shut. “Lin Nuan, you leaked the photos on Monday, didn’t you? Even if I didn’t look for Wen Moshen back then, you leaked out the photos in France, right? You hate me right? You hate that I took away your lover and your past, so this is how you get back at me? Right?”
Gu Hanyan decided to blurt everything out; she was so angry she wanted to slap Lin Nuan!
Yet she didn’t dare!
She wasn’t afraid of Lin Nuan, but she was afraid of Wen Moshen.
“You think too highly of yourself. As for me… why would I get back at you when you’re nothing? This is wasting my time, and my time is so much more precious than yours!” Lin Nuan said as she pushed Gu Hanyan’s hand off the car handle and sat inside the taxi.
Gu Hanyan stood there alone as the taxi drove off.
Suddenly, the phone in Gu Hanyan’s bag rung. She took it out and saw Wen Moshen’s ID. She nearly passed out right there.
Her face turned pale. “Hello…”
“What are you doing at the entrance of the broadcasting station?”
Wen Moshen’s chilling voice and his horrifying news on the other line filled her body with fear.
Her back was sweating. She looked around, but she couldn’t see Wen Moshen anywhere.
“I… I… I know you lost Lin Nuan because of me. I want to make up for it! So… I came to look for Lin Nuan!”
“Didn’t I tell you to stay away from her?”
Gu Hanyan could tell Wen Moshen’s tone was cold. She grasped her phone and said, “But you love her! I know I’m in the wrong, Moshen… I’m trying my best to make up for it! Believe me!”
…
Lin Nuan calmed herself down in the taxi.
Gu Hanyan wasn’t anyone important to Lin Nuan, so she couldn’t really get to her.
She did, however, dwell on how Tuan Tuan came over last night with a pillow, how Fu Huai’an left early in the morning, and how she still didn’t send out her gift.
