To Be Yours Again By Taylor Chapter 971Chapter 971 What Else Was He Expecting?
Considering the occasion that day, Jenny didn’t want to argue with her. “Alright then, I
novelbindidn’t mean anything else. I just wanted to greet him. If you mind my presence. I’ll
leave now. Just tell him I send my regards.”
Alexandra wanted to say that she minded it very much, but she plastered a courteous
smile on her face. “Okay, I’ll tell Christopher. Goodbye, Miss Walter.”
Jenny turned around and left. Although she didn’t like Alexandra’s behavior, she didn’t
want to cause any unnecessary misunderstandings since Alexandra was
Christopher’s girlfriend.
Watching Jenny leave, Alexandra breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t want Jenny to
meet Christopher because she feared something might happen between them.
Although Jenny was now the daughter of the renowned Walter family and wasn’t likely
to consider Christopher a potential life partner, it was difficult to say that she wouldn’t.
Alexandra liked Christopher very much and didn’t want to take any risks. Thinking of
that, she turned around and walked toward Christopher, who was still mourning his
grandfather not far away.“You should have some food first, Christopher. Your health is important too,”
Alexandra advised with concern as she stood beside him.
Christopher hadn’t been eating much these days, and he had visibly lost weight. She
was worried for him.
He didn’t move from his spot but just said to her, “You can go back. I know what to
do.”
Alexandra didn’t leave; she stayed by his side. If she turned and left at a time like this,
what would Christopher and the rest of the Spade family think of her?
“I’ll stay here with you,” Alexandra said resolutely. She then stood beside Christopher
silently.
Seeing her like that, Christopher couldn’t quite bear it. He held Alexandra’s hand and
motioned for her to follow him.
“Let’s go eat. I have something to tell you.”
For some reason, Alexandra’s heart skipped a beat. “He has something to tell me?”
she thought, feeling alarmed.
Both their families were already discussing marriage, but for some reason, when
Christopher said he had something to tell her, she instinctively knew it wasn’t abouttheir marriage. Instead, she had an uneasy feeling.
Christopher scanned his surroundings but didn’t see the person he wanted to see.
Because of that, he furrowed his brows slightly.
“Are you looking for Miss Walter?” Alexandra asked, feeling intense jealousy in her
heart.
“Yeah.” Christopher nodded. “Have you seen her?”
“Miss Walter said she had something to do and left. She asked me to send you her
regards.” By then, Alexandra was extremely grateful that she hadn’t let Jenny come
over to greet him; otherwise, who knows what might have happened.
“Is that so?” Christopher asked with a frown.
Jenny wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye, so he looked at Alexandra with
suspicion, thinking that she might have said something she shouldn’t have.
Alexandra felt scared and wronged at the same time under his gaze. “Christopher,
Miss Walter is now the CEO of Walter Inc. She must be very busy. Even so, she made
time to come and see your grandfather off.”
Upon hearing those words, Christopher’s expression darkened slightly. Alexandra wasright—it was already good enough that Jenny had shown up. What else was he
expecting?
“Come on. Let’s go and eat.” Christopher turned around and didn’t say anything
further.
At the entrance of the cemetery, Jenny had just left in a car.
“Why did you come here?”
She looked at Alec and surmised he hadn’t come to pay respects to Harvey.
“I came to pick you up.” This place was in the middle of nowhere. If Alec hadn’t come
to pick up Jenny personally, he would have been worried.
Jenny was somewhat speechless and rolled her eyes at him. “Alec, can you not treat
me like I’m a toddler? Did you
think I’d get lost?”
“You’ll always be a child in my eyes.” He was willing to treat her like a child and spoil
her, even if it was for a lifetime.
