Jason was not sure when, but even he fell into a deep slumber with Jennifer in his arms after noticing that her tears had ceased.
A long time had passed, but when he woke up, Jason noticed that Jennifer was still clinging to him.
Her grasp had loosened, but instead of wriggling himself out of her embrace, he thought that he could stay like this for a little bit longer.
Focusing on nothing in particular, Jason was just lying in the bed with Jennifer by his side.
His body had finally recuperated from the exhausting battle against the Shadow walker alliance and it was soon time for them to leave.
Not wanting to postpone their task any longer, Jason was already prepared to leave, and now, only Jennifer would have to wake up.
Thus, while he waited for her to wake up, thoughts about all kinds of things began to flash through his mind.
There were quite a few things he had to do, but not many of them were something Jason would be able to attain on Manyr.
As such, Jason believed that it was soon time for him to leave the large planet, hopefully along with Jennifer and not alone!
With that in mind, he took one of the many books he had chosen as his reward from the Primordial races' treasury.
Opening the first page, he started to read it and was quickly immersed into it.
He didn't even realize how much time had passed as the information about advanced forging was simply too interesting for him.
Because of that, it took Jason a while before he noticed that Jennifer was stirring.
On noticing him by her side, she pulled her legs back followed by her arms that were slowly moving away from him.
When she woke up, Jenifer almost screamed out in shock, only to faintly recall what she had done while being half asleep.
As such, she tried her best to regain control over her senses before retreating slowly.
Afterward, she continued to lay on the bed because Jason had still not shown any signs of noticing her move, giving her the time to calm down before finally getting up.
Thus, the moment she got up from the ground, Jason looked at her.
Closing the book he had been reading, he smiled at her before he enquired.
"Good Morning! How are you feeling?"
Nodding her head in embarrassment, she studied the ground which made Jason's smile widen before he added.
"Shall we depart?"
Jennifer had assumed that Jason wanted to cultivate for a few more days while recuperating from his earlier state in which he had felt weaker.
However, that didn't seem to be necessary as Jason's mana fluctuations were as strong as ever.
As such, she nodded her head before adding,
"Just…let me freshen up!"
Even Jason felt that a hot shower would do wonders to his soar body and relax his muscles.
Thus, they occupied the bathroom one after another and changed into fresh clothes.
It was only half an hour later before the two of them were fully prepared, and ready to leave Xytra.
Jennifer never wanted to return, ever again, and Jason had no attachment to the entire Julandra region to begin with.
As such, there was no need for him to even consider staying.
Instead, he wanted to travel towards the borders of the Shadow walkers' land because he wanted to find Lux.
Ever since Jason had seen the woman leave with the Shadow walker who had also taken Lux with him several years ago, his mind had been urging him to take revenge.
As such, their next destination were the borders of the Julandra region, where Jason wanted to create chaos.
He planned to do so by trying to threaten a few Shadow walkers to the extent that they would expose the location of Lux or others who might know more about his whereabouts.
In the end, Lux's soul world was quite unique, and it was not unlikely for him to have reached a high combat prowess during the last few years.
After all, he must have been nurtured well, and receiving a cultivation manual was just the tip of the iceberg.
In fact, Jason presumed that the majority of humans who were kidnapped, or those who left voluntarily were mostly nurturing their soul world.
This was the most logical way to approach the soul-awakened soul world, after all.
If Lux were to reach the limit of his vessel, followed by a great environment and a cultivation technique, it was not unlikely for Lux to have reached a combat prowess similar to Jason.
Or at least that was what Jason presumed, considering that more than 10 years had passed since they had last seen each other.
With that in mind, he had to try suppressing his excitement to take revenge because it made Jason feel as if he was no better than anyone else.
Somehow, it was weird because he was always thinking about revenge, but never had he bothered about trying to come up with a solution in which everything ended peacefully.
If he were to go on a killing spree, Jason believed that he would be no better than the mindless creatures that simply killed for their own benefits.
This caused him to think a lot about the changes he had undergone in the past few years, and how he had been unwilling to kill when he first gained eyesight.
'Why does it feel as if only a few days have passed since everything began?' He wondered as they were leaving the city. He was deep in thoughts while they were flying high above the city walls.
Meanwhile, Jennifer looked back at the city one more time before turning away.
A firm resolve could be seen in her eyes, and Jason felt great to see the change.
He was relieved to see that she had overcome the emotional turmoil that was eating at her the previous day.
With her emotions in check, they were finally able to fly towards the borders of the Julandra region which was only a three-week travel away from their current location.
They had to use their highest speed that was comparable to the peak of Initial Ascendion stage cultivators.
But everything was worth it as they reached their destination much faster than initially hoped for.
Having left behind all burdens and responsibilities, Jason and Jennifer were ready to embark on their own journey together…or so they thought.
In the end, it was just Jason's revenge that he would finally enact one step at a time after years of relentless efforts just to become a little bit stronger.
Jennifer was 'just' accompanying him on the path that Jason was walking on.
However, this 'just' was a lot more valuable to Jason than most things he had left behind.
All his life, he had fought alone and never had a companion.
It was only now, in the form of Jennifer, that he saw a worthy ally who he could have by his side without any worries of being betrayed.
This was an important factor and Jason didn't want to disregard the importance of Jennifer.
However, how should he know that Jennifer's presence next to him would make his journey both more pleasant and easy to walk on, but at the same time, become something horrifying enough to be imprinted into the depths of his heart?
Yet, right now, both didn't know anything about the fateful encounters they were bound to make.
For now, The only thing they could see were the armies of the Aeus and Devir race fighting against the Shadow walker alliance at the borders of the Julandra region!
