Kevin was still unaware that Hank was no longer in a life-threatening condition.
He would not pay attention to a b*stard’s situation anyway.
He only knew that the Brown family utterly regretted their decision.
“The b*stard’s mother and sister are even thinking of getting him and Liberty to remarry. Liberty isn’t
that stupid. Why will she jump into the same trap after barely escaping from it? They’re just feeling
regret because her life improved after the divorce.
“Although the mistress got married to the b*stard and became his wife, she never gave birth to a child.
She was pregnant, but the baby was lost after she had a fall. It’s retribution. I’ve always heard that what
goes around comes around and that it’s just a matter of time.
“I used to think it was merely a saying. If retribution existed, there wouldn’t be so many people doing
bad things. However, I believed in the saying after seeing how the Brown family ended up.”
Hank and his family were the fastest examples of retribution that Kevin had ever seen.
Hayden felt satisfied just by listening too.
She said, “Getting a divorce was a great decision. I was afraid Ms. Hunt wouldn’t want to get a divorce
for the sake of the child. For most couples, even after the husband had cheated on his wife, the wife
would always suffer in silence so that her child could have a complete family. I hate to see that
happening.
“If a man has an affair, it means he’s already tired of you and has no more feelings for you. If one
keeps making a fuss, the man will only hate the woman more. It’ll be better to give him his freedom.
However, she should fight for her lawful rights upon divorce and not give the b*stard and b*tch any
advantage.
“Who was granted the custody of Ms. Hunt’s son?”
“Sonny’s custody was given to Liberty. To be honest, if it weren’t for my brother putting pressure on
them, she might’ve had to go through a divorce lawsuit and not be able to obtain an equal distribution
of assets. That b*stard saved a huge sum of money under his father’s name behind Liberty’s back.”
After a moment of silence, Hayden said, “I didn’t think of that. People have advocated for gender
equality for years, but women still receive unfair treatment in society. Usually, women will be forced to
leave without getting anything after a divorce and lose their children’s custody to their husbands.
“This situation causes women to fear marriage, so there’s an increasing number of people who don’t
want to get married and have a child.”
Being a man was much better. That was also partly why Hayden did not want to return to being a
woman.
“You can’t generalize the situation solely based on several cases. There are still many excellent and
righteous men out there who won’t have affairs. For example, I’m one of those outstanding men who’ll
be loyal to his wife and not cheat on her.”
Hayden glanced at him. She did not want to laugh but could not hold back her laughter.
This man was brazen.
He never missed a chance to compliment himself.
“You should eat, Mr. Kevin. The dishes will go cold and taste bad if you don’t start eating now.”
Hayden reminded Kevin not to focus only on talking but on eating as well.
Kevin grinned. “Are you worried that I’ll go hungry? I knew you were cold on the outside but soft on the
inside. In fact, you admire me a lot, right? You should be honest, Hayden. Just admire me openly and
stop hiding it.”
Hayden did not get angry. She said, “Although you’re a hateful, thick-skinned, and utterly shameless
person who disturbed my peaceful life, I can’t help but admit that I do admire your capabilities. It’s not
just you. I admire all the men of the York family.”
