Zachary picked up Laurence in his arms.
Sonny ran over.
“Uncle Zack.”
Zachary smiled and carried Sonny too.
Serenity stood up from the stone bench and looked in the direction of the voice. She saw her husband
walking toward her with the kids in his arms.
Why did he come here?
He even knew Serenity was at FC Manor.
Zachary walked over with the two children in his arms. He then bent down and put them down on the
ground and told them, “Go enjoy yourself.”
Sonny pulled Laurence and said, “Let’s go play, Laurence.”
Laurence was a playful kid who loved playing the most.
There were a few children at FC Manor. All of them except Laurence were still infants that could not
speak or walk, which was not fun to play with as they could only cry.
They got crazy together as Sonny seldom came to visit.
Serenity and her husband looked at each other for a moment, and she asked him, “How did you know
we were here?”
Zachary reached out and lightly pinched her face, scolding her, “You didn't even tell me you were going
out. I came home full of joy, thinking of spending time with you, but you, without even saying a word,
went out with nana.”
“I heard a child cry when you called me. So, I took a guess that you came to FC Manor to see our
godchildren.”
Zachary originally did not want to make this trip.
He felt bored and was accustomed to the days of having his wife by his side. When Serenity left for just
a day or two, Zachary felt like he had been separated from his wife for years and could not bear the
pain of missing her. He took a private jet and flew to FC Manor.
Serenity said, “I got betrayed by the cry of your godson after all.”
Connor was crying during the call. As she was worried that Zachary might hear the cries, she hurriedly
hung up. She never thought that Zachary would actually come.
“You just got here?”
“Yes, I only got permission to meet you after talking with Old Mr. and Old Mrs. Johnson.”
Zachary saw the two children playing happily nearby and they were not paying attention to him. He
quickly took the chance to bring Serenity into his arms. He hugged her fiercely for a few seconds and
then let go.
“Seren, from now on I will not complain that you are neglecting me. For these two days, I will
accompany you to play around. After that, Sonny should get ready for school.”
Without waiting for Serenity to speak, Zachary continued. “Nana is not young anymore, even with you
by her side, I cannot be at ease with her running around.”
Serenity said, “I see that Old Mrs. Johnson and Nana get along with each other, so why don’t I stay
with Nana in FC Manor for a few more days and come back on the 27th? There are thirty-one days this
month, and Sonny still has a few days to settle down for school after we go back.”
This offer was too good for Zachary to turn down.
Even though Zachary could see that Serenity and Jane were friends now despite their time spent
together was still short, letting Serenity stay in the manor for a few more days could help strengthen
their bond. He nodded and said, “Sure, I will come to pick you up on the 27th.”
Today was already the 22nd.
It was just a few days’ time.
“Give me your new phone number,” Zachary bossily asked for his wife’s new phone number.
Serenity obediently gave it to him.
After saving his wife’s new number in his contacts, he then sat her down and together watched the
sunset and the kids playing around.
“Laurence and Sonny are at the age where they have no worries. How nice it is to be carefree.”
“All kids should be carefree in their childhood.”
Zachary held her hand and said, “We will have kids too.”
