“I’m absolutely clear about Hayden’s preferences. Having said that, why should I let you know? If I do,
it means I betray him. I won’t betray him.”
Kevin burst out laughing.
He was not expecting to fish for Hayden’s preferences from Hugh.
It might be easier to get the answer from Donald and Sophia.
Hugh might seem cheerful and simple, but he was very protective of Hayden.
“Mr. Hayden went upstairs once he came in, huh?”
Kevin placed the money bouquet by his side. He took the glass of water and took a sip. Then, he raised
his head and looked toward the second floor.
“Hayden will be attending a party later. He’s used to taking a shower and getting changed before going
out. Then, he’ll eat something and bring along two bottles of wine.”
Kevin said, “Why would she bring along two bottles of wine? Are the locals here in the habit of bringing
along two bottles of wine when they go to parties?”
Kevin thought it was normal for Hayden to take a shower before she went out. She might be afraid that
she would get drunk during the party and sleep without taking a shower, which could be dirty.
It was apparent that Hayden was a very fussy person. Perhaps she was fastidious.
It was fine as long as she was not overboard with it. Zachary was slightly too fastidious. After getting
together with Serenity, Zachary barely displayed this side of himself.
That did not mean Serenity was not fussy. It meant that Zachary was less fussy after getting together
with Serenity.
This was the power of love.
Hugh said, “Mr. Kevin, you want to pursue Hayden, yet you don’t understand him. You fell in love with
him just because of his looks. You might regret it.”
“Everyone in our circle knows that Hayden eats before attending parties. He drinks at parties, but he
only drinks the wine he brings. It’s not because he dislikes other people’s wine, but because he wants
to guard against admirers like you, Mr. Kevin.”
Kevin was speechless.
Indeed, he was unaware that Hayden had such a habit.
Hayden had been acting so cautiously. No wonder she managed to hide her identity as a female for
over twenty years.
“Has Mr. Hayden been plotted against before?”
“No. Given that Hayden has been so cautious, how could he possibly have been plotted against?”
After speaking, Hugh glowered at Kevin in hindsight. “Mr. Kevin, could you be planning to come with us
to the party and plot against Hayden in the large crowd by getting him to sleep with you?”
“How can that be? I won’t use such despicable means. I’ll go after Mr. Hayden openly. Even though he
can’t accept me for now, I have plenty of time and patience. One day, I can make him love me from the
bottom of his heart.
“Hugh, I’m serious about my relationship with Hayden. I definitely won’t use such a despicable tactic to
make him sleep with me.”
Hugh observed Kevin for some time before he said, “I believe the Yorks have good family values and
raised good men. I believe you’re not that horrible.”
“Thank you for your trust, Mr. Hugh.”
“Mr. Kevin, Hayden won’t accept the money bouquet, so you’d better give it to me. The mere sight of it
has touched me. I enjoy receiving such a money bouquet. Feel free to give it to me. I’m more than
happy to accept it.”
While speaking, Hugh wanted to take the money bouquet.
Kevin slapped Hugh’s hand again and said, “If Mr. Hayden rejects the bouquet, I’ll take it back. I’ll give
it to him when he wants it again. Anyhow, this kind of bouquet can last long.”
“How petty of you. I don’t want it even if you give me one now.”
Hugh mocked Kevin, “You’re currently wooing Hayden. If both of you manage to break the stereotype
and get together, I’ll be your brother-in-law.
“Anyway, you’ll be at an advantage if you butter me up.”
