1536 Not the Phoenix Girl 4
The King burst into angry laughter.
“Get out of Qianqing Palace!” The King bellowed at Zhou Huaijin.
Zhou Huaijin was still looking at the King whose face was twisted with anger, without expression. He greeted the King politely before leaving Qianqing Palace, and leaving quietly.
The King even sneered upon seeing that Zhou Huaijin was not showing any sense of regret.
!!
He needed some punishment, right now!”
“De Fu!” The King bellowed with fury, as his heart kept throbbing. He was getting more and more angry. He could not stand it any more.
Hearing the voice, De Fu rushed in quickly, answering politely. “My King…”
“Send more guards to Lord Huai’s Mansion, and some more imperial soldiers to guard Lord Huai’s Mansion. Lord Huai should never leave Lord Huai’s Mansion without my order.” The King paused, thought for a while and said, “Another imperial order. Lord Huai treated his seniors terribly and spoke terrible words to me. So he is no longer a lord and he won’t get any salary for three months. He will not be allowed to come into the court within one year’s time.”
The King believed that was enough.
He could take the rest step by step.
He paused. “That is it for the moment.”
De Fu looked up slightly. He could sense that the King was furious. He had no idea what Lord Huai did to make the King so angry that the King would want to give him such serious punishments. Those punishments were not given even when the Queen passed away.
However, he had no opinion towards the Queen.
If the King believed that the Queen was a nice person then she was. If the King did not like her, he as the servant would ignore her as well.
He was hesitating, because it seemed that the King never forgot the Queen, thus keeping Lord Huai by his side. For another, Lord Huai was Lady Chaoyan’s fiance and they were engaged a long time ago. Their wedding was delayed because the Queen passed away barely one year ago.
However, the King did not even want to tolerate Lord Huai any more. So Lord Huai was not going to have any future in this way.
Then what about Lady Chaoyan? What would she do?
Lady Chaoyan saved him once, so he was not very happy to obey the order.
He was wondering if he should try to defend her at the moment.
“What is it?” The King noticed De Fu’s hesitation. He glared at him and asked.
“Nothing. I will do that now.” De Fu answered, seeming anxious. He was distracted. He thought about Lady Chaoyan and forgot that he had betrayed the King.
He could pretend that nothing was wrong as long as Lady Chaoyan herself was not hurt.
De Fu accepted the order and hurried off.
The King doubted De Fu for one moment, but soon the suspicion was gone.
…
Outside the gate.
Zhou Huaijin met with Fu Bao.
Fu Bao glanced cautiously.
