This was a look of coldness blended with confusion. There was no other emotion mixed inside.
The King bent down and stared at the Queen's face. It was not a very striking face, but it was a very comfortable face to look at, just like the peonies, which should be stared at in silence. When the words were spoken, the King turned around.
