The King’s original purpose was to visit the Queen to get back the token the Empress Dowager wanted. He believed that the Queen had her own ideas, so he should be present to give an explanation first. However, he had not expected that Zhao Yiqiu was seated in the yard of the Weiyang Palace the moment he walked in.
Zhao Yiqiu and he were the same age, yet decades had passed and the King had aged a great deal and looked not at all like before, whilst Zhao Yiqiu still looked young and robust.
The King was aware that Zhao Yiqiu had visited the Weiyang Palace when he returned to the capital. So he did not dig deep into this visit, since Zhao Yiqiu, Jiang Shuang and he were best friends years ago, and he allowed that they should meet after years of separation.
However, that did not necessarily mean that Zhao Yiqiu could have free access to the Queen whenever he wanted. He should be totally aware of that.
Jiang Shuang was already his Queen, his woman, so Zhao Yiqiu should not get involved.
When the King was done with shouting, Zhao Yiqiu was still seated there without moving an inch or blinking, as if he had been totally dumbfounded.
Susu, however, was panicking.
Gu Chaoyan came out with Aunt Nan and then greeted the King instantly, “Greetings, Long live the King!”
The King tried to calm down. He looked at Gu Chaoyan and asked, “So you are here too?”
“Yes, the Queen isn’t feeling well, so I came to check her up. I am worried.” Gu Chaoyan replied.
The moment Gu Chaoyan finished her words, the King looked into the room.
The Queen was not appearing. He thought that at least the Queen would make some explanation.
He, the King was here, and she should come and greet him, telling him not to get any misunderstandings.
Even though Chaoyan was also present, the King was still not feeling very satisfied.
He did not go into the inner chamber, instead, he raised his voice and said, “Since she is not doing well, then I believe she doesn’t have much energy to deal with what is happening among my wives. Since that is the case, the Empress Dowager will take over so the Queen can have a good rest.”

She sighed, but she still fetched the token.
The moment Aunt Nan presented the authority token to the King, the King felt a moment of dizziness – so the token was returned so easily?
So easily? Without any protest?
He thought that the Queen would at least come out and interrogate him, but none of this happened?
The King took a look at the door of the inner chamber and the window. The Queen was nowhere to be seen.
The King got very angry.
He took the box angrily and shouted. “I am visiting Princess Jing!” Then he turned around.
