He used to hate her Chapter 32

I reached home and knocked on the door.

" Hey, get in. Where have you been?" She casually asked.

" I did something bad," I blurted before entering.

" Then why's it feels so good," She sang, in a good mood.

" No. I'm not singing Taylor's song. I really did something bad. I made Xander angry and he's not
coming back again. He said he's going to marry Veronica. I can't blame him. It's my fault in the first
place. I can't feel relieved now. I'm...I don't know what I'm feeling. I feel like I'm breaking apart."

" Okay. Slow down, Madison. Get inside first." Sofia pulled me inside and closed the door.

" I already told you. You are worried about the future way too much. Now, you are in this desperate
state. Tell me everything. What happened?"

I told her everything and she's looking like she's going to scold me for all my life.

" You make him do that. Why are you hurting yourself? You love him. He loves you. What more do you
want?"

" I'm not in a mood to hear your scoldings, Sofia. It's done. I don't think I have a chance to go back and
change anything. Goodnight," I went straight to my run and locked the door. I don't know if I could
sleep. But I need to be alone.

A day passed and Sofia did everything to make me feel better and she didn't try to take the
conversation unless I want to talk. Which I don't.



Suddenly, my phone rang. For a second, I wished it would be Xander. I will apologize to him and try to
get back to him. I will try. Cause I did the biggest mistake of my life.

I frowned after seeing it's Henry's number. It's not Xander.

" Hello,"

" You are completely out of your mind. What did you do to Xander? He's looking emotionless and even
agreed to marry Veronica. I can see he's not happy with it. He simply said that 'you don't want him
anymore."

Henry yelled on the phone. " Please, don't ask me anything about it. I did the biggest mistake. I'm
already regretting it. Don't make me suffer more." I cried.

" I don't want to stress you. But you said, you love him. Why are you doing this now? I won't talk more if
you are not interested. I just have one more thing to tell. It's still not too late. Try to make it up with him."
Henry hangs up with it.

I have to do something. The wedding is about to happen in one day. It feels like I'm already too late.

Thinking of what to do, I called Xander. It rang and rang but he didn't attend. I called him again and
again hoping I will hear his voice. But then the call ended in the first ring. He ignored it. He doesn't want
to take it with me. In frustration, I threw the phone away in a force.

" Madison? It's...it's the only phone you have. We can't afford another one." Sofia shouted, picking the
phone up to see the broken screen.

" I don't care. Xander's ignoring me. It's all because of me. He won't give me another chance. I messed
it up," I sobbed as Sofia looking at the broken phone and me who's broken just like my phone.



She got nothing to say. I got nothing to do after this. Later that night, I took my broken phone and tried
hard to send a single voice message to Xander.

" I'm sorry, Xander. I shouldn't have walked away from you. I didn't know what I was doing. I was afraid
of losing you one day but now I realized that I lost you forever. I can't bear it. I love you. Please, don't
ignore this message. I'm sorry for driving you away. I want you. I want you back. I know it's too late. But
please, forgive me. I don't think I can live without you. I lost a part of me when my sister died. After that,
you are the person who brightened my life. If I lose you, I will lose the other part of myself. I wish I
could take everything back. If you can forgive me, meet me outside at the dinner at 8:00 pm. If you
don't show up, I will understand that it was my mistake that made you act like this."

I sent the message and left home to wait for Xander. I imagined and hoped that he will show up. I
waited for a long time. I will be happy even if he shows up late. But that didn't happen. He didn't show
up at all.

I returned home hopelessly. By tomorrow, nothing can be done. He would have married Veronica. If my
past self knows that this is how this will end, I would have never let myself love him.

I would have tried.

I worked day and night at the dinner while Xander would have been married to Veronica. I should get
used to these surroundings. Xander didn't show up yesterday. That means he already moved on. I'm
the one to blame.

I returned home after repairing my phone. I spend the little money I had. Now I'm not even capable of
paying for my Aunt.



I unlocked my phone, lying on the couch. My hands went to see if I have any missed calls or text. What
am I expecting to see? Xander will be Married by now. Veronica's getting everything in the end and I'm
good at losing.

I opened Henry's text to find a video. A wedding video. What the hell is he thinking? I can't watch it in
this desperate state.

Me: WTH? Delete this video. I don't want to see it.

Henry came online and replied right at the minute.

Henry: I'm sorry. I wrongly sent it to you instead of Xander's office mates who haven't shown up at the
wedding.

Do I look like Xander's office mate? What's wrong with Henry? He must have saved my number.
Instead of replying, my hand opened the video.

I have never seen Xander in a black suit. He's looking the best among everything but he doesn't look
happy. And I can't admire his beauty since Veronica's the one who's next to him. I should probably stop
the video. My hand moved towards the phone screen and moved away.

The video kept on playing as I'm in a dilemma to close it or watch it. After the vow, Xander lost his
words. He looked at the crowd full of people. The people he doesn't remember. His parents are still
unknown to him. He looked at Veronica like she's a stranger. Someone who he doesn't love.

Xander looked unsure at the ring. He's hesitating to put it on Veronica's hand. At last, he looked up at
Veronica with a sorry look and stepped back.

The audio in the video isn't good but I can still hear his whispering.



" I'm sorry. I can't do this." He stepped back and walked away while everyone is speechless by his
words. I didn't even expect this to happen. Henry sent this to me on purpose to tell me that the wedding
didn't happen.
