He used to hate her Chapter 17

I can't argue with him. It will hurt him to talk with his parents when he doesn't even remember them.

" I'm sorry, Mrs Stevens. Xander's not ready to have any conversation with anyone." I told her and she
understood me.

" Why did you do that? You should try to talk with people who know you well. It may help you bring your
memories back." I advised him after hanging up on his mom.

" I thought you understand me. They aren't even in the hospital. I can't talk over the phone with my so-
called parents who I can't remember. I don't even remember their faces. Can you feel how hard it is?"
He said emotionally.

" I get it. I really do. It's just they are worried about you and you are talking with me. Likewise, you could
do the same to your mom."

" I'm talking with you because you are the one who's been with me from the minute I woke up. Till now,
no one's here for me. If I have to talk, it should only work when it's face to face. Please, let's not talk
more about it." He said without letting me reply to his words.

The rest of the day went boring. We both got nothing to do. I went to visit Sofia and when I'm back he's
still in the room doing nothing.

" You hate to be like this, right?" I asked, looking at his bandage on his arms.

" Two weeks is way too long and going to feel like I'm in hell."

" Where did you gone?" He added.

" To see my roommate..."



" Oh, I know I didn't ask you anything about your life. I don't know how much I know about you before I
involved in an accident, but I would like to hear about your life,"

My life is hell and can be filled with any worse words than hell. That's how it has been all these years
and I have a small hope that it won't be permanent.

" There's nothing much about me. My name's Madison Grace. I have been working hard and earning
for my daily needs. Currently, I lost my job because I got some issues with being a waitress. I have to
do everything for myself cause my dad is a drunk addict and my mom became a psycho. They got this
mental illness after my older sister died. Now, I'm just an orphan who has no luck in her life. This is a
simple way I could tell about myself." I finished, feeling numb. I got no tears to cry.

" I'm sorry," He took my hand and said it.

" For what? I don't tell you so you could feel sad for me. And I haven't told it all."

" If you want to share it all, I'm here to hear it."

I looked at Xander once. The only time I shared my life is with Sofia and Veronica. She knows my past
and still did something bad to me. From that day, I wasn't ready to get close to anyone. I couldn't be
close with Xander too. I have no clue how will things turn out when he gets his memory back.

" Maybe another day. I don't want to recollect my memories right now." I said, slipping my hand off his
hand.

" Okay, when you feel like you wanna share, I will hear it at any time." He replied and our conversation
ended for that day. I used to practice sleeping in the chair. I have been there for him every day. Talking
with him, eating with him, giving him tablets at the right time. I have never spent this much time in a
hospital. But I'm doing all these for Xander. Without regret.



Three days passed by and no one ever stepped their feet in this hospital to visit him. Xander knows
many people. Even though they all are far away in different countries, they aren't ready to travel all
these ways to see him. But he got way too many calls which he chooses to ignore. Ignore them all.

Now it's my third day night at the hospital, I visited Sofia and got back to the hospital. I looked at the
window to see what's Xander doing. It's not sleeping or sitting simply but talking to someone with a
phone. My phone. I left it here but I never permitted him to use it.

I entered the room glaring at him. He hangs up, right when he saw me.

" I thought you are not talking with anyone. Now, who is it? Who you are calling with my phone? " I
started yelling.

" Let me explain, Madison. I really don't want to talk with anyone who I don't remember. I got a reason
to call someone you know."

" Someone I know," I grabbed the phone from him and saw the name. It's Henry.

" You don't remember, Henry. Even if you want to talk with him, you should have asked me. Why do
you have to talk behind my back?" I questioned him, trying to act calm.

" I need something. Need something to do for you. And I didn't know who I should contact for that."

" For me? What's there for me?" I gave a perplexed look. He should have a good explanation for this.

" You have been spending money for you and as well as me. I know you lost your job. I want to do
something for you. I don't know how I should get access to the money I have. So, I requested Henry to
transfer money to your account. I will pay him once I get accessed to my account. I didn't tell you this,
cause I heard you talk with my so-called mom. You don't want money for taking care of me. If I asked
you directly, you would have said no." He explained and all I could stare without a reaction.



" I would still say no. I will soon get a job and can fulfil my daily needs. You don't need to do this
because I saved your life."

" I'm not doing this for that reason, Madison. I care about you. Even though I have known you for days.
Use that money for me. You don't need to return it. I won't be taking it back."

I stood with my phone, looking into his eyes.

I care about you.

His word rings in my ears continuously. We never got a chance to know each other when we were in
school. But now everything's changes. I wasn't expecting anything like this? Sometimes I want to avoid
him in these three days because he might change when he gets his memories back. But I couldn't
avoid him. I want to refuse to use this money but...

" Okay. But this should be the first and last time. I will start earning soon." He nodded looking satisfied.
When we are back to ourselves again, I got an unknown call. I'm sure it's not his parents. Who could it
be?

" Hello, Who is this?"

" I guess you deleted my number a long time ago. Anyways, you are going to leave the hospital now.
I'm not letting you take advantage of my fiancé"

" Veronica? Fiance?" I only said these two words as my voice struck hearing her voice.

" Yeah. Do you get it or not? Xander's my fiancé. We are going to get married in two weeks."
