Chapter 205: Why Does My Neck Hurt So Much?
Shi Beiyu was speechless. “You can rest assured. Even if I wanted your treasure, you would never agree to it.”
“Of course.” Upon saying so, Uncle Zhong hurriedly placed the jade back into his clothes.
Seeing this, Shi Beiyu said, “It’s quite late now. You should head to your room and rest early.”
“Okay. Have fun being lovey-dovey with Little Siyin!”
Uncle Zhong headed downstairs in a good mood. However, he was halfway down the stairs when he came to a sudden halt.
“How did Little Beibei learn of my baby?” He was extremely curious.
He initially wanted to turn around and enquire about it, but Shi Beiyu had just shut the door. It did not seem necessary to call Shi Beiyu out again either.
Whatever. He could always ask him tomorrow!
With his mind made, Uncle Zhong walked down the stairs with confusion written on his face.
Meanwhile, Shi Beiyu had turned around and walked into the room. Before he could make his way to the side of the bed, he suddenly saw Mu Siyin frowning deep in her sleep. His heart clenched as he hurriedly went forward to call her name. “Yinyin?”
Mu Siyin knitted her brows together tightly as she opened her eyes. Her entire body felt terrible, especially her neck. It was aching like hell.
“I— What happened to me?”
Shi Beiyu relaxed the moment he heard that and quickly rushed forwards to help her out of bed.
“You stood in the rain this morning. Then, you started having a fever in the afternoon and had been sleeping ever since you took some medicine.”
Mu Siyin was in a complete daze when she heard what Shi Beiyu said.
“Why don’t I remember it?”
Shi Beiyu paused for a while before saying, “That fever must’ve made you a little muddleheaded. What else do you want to ask?”
Mu Siyin frowned and acknowledged it. After that, she instinctively lifted her hand to caress the back of her neck. “But why does my neck hurt so much? And… My…”
Upon saying so, she lifted her hand to touch her lower waist by her left.
Seeing this, Shi Beiyu blinked and said, “Maybe… your sleeping posture wasn’t right?”
His words made sense to Mu Siyin.
With a frown still on her face, she looked up at him before saying, “It could be. I feel terrible.”
Shi Beiyu raised his hand guiltily and said gently, “Come, let me massage you.”
Mu Siyin did not reject him and laid across his legs, waiting for him to massage her.
Shi Beiyu could not stop blaming himself for it. If he had not been so anxious, he probably would not have attacked Mu Siyun that way. However, his tricks had not only failed to knock Mu Siyun out, but it even injured Mu Siyin.
Shi Beiyu’s massage was perfect. His hands were not too hard nor soft, and Mu Siyin found herself drifting off to sleep again.
“Yinyin?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere else?” Shi Beiyu asked worriedly.
Mu Siyin closed her eyes as she replied ever so gently, “My entire body feels like jelly. It’s like I have no energy at all.”
Shi Beiyu nodded. “It could be due to the fever. You should be fine after a good night’s rest.”
“Okay.” Mu Siyin nodded her head.
Only then did Shi Beiyu start to lecture her. “You’re not allowed to go in the rain again, and you shouldn’t linger around the cemetery for too long as well.”
It would be her mother’s death anniversary in three days, so she would have to go back eventually.
This made Shi Beiyu worry about her a little.
Mu Siyin nodded lightly when she heard this. “I know. I wasn’t expecting to have a fever from the rain. My body never used to be this weak.”
Shi Beiyu was speechless. “You must have injured your body pretty badly the last time you fell sick. No matter what happens in the future, you’re not allowed to joke around with your body anymore, okay?”
Mu Siyin smiled as her heart warmed up. “Okay!”
“Don’t just say it. You have to prove it through your actions.”
“I really do know that!”
Her voice had just trailed off when she suddenly looked into his eyes. “What time is it now?”
Shi Beiyu paused for a while. “It’s almost 10 p.m.”
Mu Siyin found it strange. “Was I asleep for that long?”
“Yeah.”
Shi Beiyu thought Mu Siyin wanted to ask him about something else, but instead, she looked at him like a wronged puppy. “Aren’t you going to give me some food? I’m starving!”
