Chapter 93: As Long As She Stayed
“Ah?” Ji Yang looked disappointed. She thought Shi Beiyu would say that it was alright and that he could delay the meeting or something along those lines.
“I’ll head out first then. I’ll be back tonight,” Shi Beiyu said gently as he looked at Mu Siyin.
The weight on Mu Siyin’s shoulders finally fell.
She instantly grinned and nodded. “Okay. Hurry away, then.”
Shi Beiyu felt annoyed for a moment. It seemed like her best friend was more important than him.
Watching as Shi Beiyu turned coldly and left, Ji Yang frowned and looked at Mu Siyin in dissatisfaction. “Is he really that busy, Yinyin? Look at the time now. Will he be able to make it to the meeting?”
Ji Yang’s ability to analyze and reason was frightening.
It was already past 9:00 a.m., so he would only be at his office around 10 a.m.
Mu Siyin let out a cheer in her heart but pretended to look very sad instead. “He’s busy every day. That’s why I don’t want to bother him.”
With that, Ji Yang thoughtfully said, “Okay.”
Mu Siyin suddenly looked up, glanced at her, and said, “Aren’t you going to stay with me, Yangyang?”
Ji Yang felt helpless. “Your new boyfriend has already left. Who’s going to take care of you if I don’t stay?”
Mu Siyin felt a wave of emotions flood over her. “I love you so much, Yangyang!”
“Don’t be annoying.”
“Then, what about your departure… in the afternoon?” Mu Siyin was careful to test her friend.
Ji Yang pondered for a while before she looked at Mu Siyin and said, “I need to leave at 2:00 p.m., Yinyin. Can you get your boyfriend to come over later?”
Mu Siyin’s expression changed the moment Ji Yang said that. She stared sadly at Ji Yang with her googly eyes and then lowered her head as she said pitifully, “It’s fine that you don’t want to stay to look after me. Just go. It’s not like I’ll get better in a few hours. I don’t want to get in the way of your job too.”
Ji Yang looked conflicted. “It’s not that, Yinyin. That’s not what I mean. What I mean is that your boyfriend should come over since he’s free in the afternoon.”
“He’s very busy! He doesn’t even have the time to take care of me!”
Ji Yang was speechless.
“Since all of you are busy people, you should just get on with your lives. After all, my condition is not that serious.”
Those words tugged at Ji Yang’s heartstrings.
“I can always get the nurse or the doctor by myself. I can also walk to the cafeteria for food.”
Ji Yang felt like a cruel person.
“My dear princess, I’m wrong, okay? Just stop making me feel bad. I’ll give my leader a call right away.”
Mu Siyin lifted her head excitedly. Joy filled her voice when she said, “Really?”
Ji Yang sighed and shook her head helplessly. “I knew you were acting.”
Mu Siyin guffawed as she pulled Ji Yang’s hand and shook it. “I just want you to stay. Is that too much to ask?”
“Okay, okay, okay. Wait a while. Let me tell my leader about it first,” Ji Yang said awkwardly.
This was her first assignment since she joined the workforce, so it would definitely affect her future prospects in the team if she turned it down like that.
However, she would not feel at ease to leave her best friend alone in the hospital either.
It seemed like she had no choice but to stay.
At that thought, she took out her phone and walked out anxiously.
The determination in Mu Siyin’s gaze wavered for a second when she saw how conflicted Ji Yang looked. One could say that she was selfish or judge her for being stubborn, but she would do anything to keep Ji Yang here…
