Chapter 66: I Want To Hear It From You
The incident of Gu Corporation’s stock prices crashing was a signal to other businesses in the capital to stand on their toes.
First, it was Mu Corporation, and now, it was Gu Corporation. It seemed like it would not be a small financial crisis this year.
Mu Heyuan still held a grudge against Mu Siyin for humiliating him in front of the family. Hence, he wanted to delay the signing of the agreement for two days. That should be more than enough to frighten her into agreeing to their terms.
However, now that Gu Corporation was in trouble, Mu Heyuan lost his persistence and instructed his employees to draft a brand new agreement. Mu Siyin must sign it by the afternoon before the Lu family changed their mind.
Mu Siyin carefully scrutinized the agreement. This time, it was written clearly that the shares would be transferred to her, but the issue of her total shares was completely omitted.
She laughed dryly. She knew that they would not easily hand over the 20% of her mother and sister’s shares. However, why would that matter when she had the succession certificate?
They had no choice but to be bound by the succession certificate as long as it existed.
Before signing, Mu Siyin said, “Oh yeah!”
The corner of Mu Heyuan and Old Madam Mu’s lips twitched anxiously upon realizing that Mu Siyin had something to add on.
“What is it again, Yinyin?” The Old Madam tried her best to remain calm.
Mu Siyin looked at the two of them and said, “Since I own so many shares, it’s only natural for me to work there too, right?”
Mu Xingyu and Li Tongzhi’s faces immediately sank, let alone Mu Heyuan and the Old Madam.
They had initially wanted Mu Siyin to act as a mere figurehead. This meant that she would be powerless even if she had a large portion of the shares!
How could this be possible if she wanted to work at the company?
The Old Madam laughed. “Hehe… You’re still young now, Yinyin. Don’t bother about working yet. Just enjoy your youth hanging out with your friends or taking up an easier job. It’s a tough job, and I don’t think you have what it takes to work here.”
Mu Siyin raised an eyebrow. “If Mu Xingyu can do it, so can I.
“She majored in fashion designing and was hired as a fashion designer immediately after she graduated.
“If you put it that way, I should be entitled to work at the company as a jewelry designer since I studied jewelry designing.
“Moreover, I have a huge portion of shares in Mu Corporation. I don’t think it’s too much to ask for if I want to work there as a designer.”
Everyone’s facial expression turned ghastly when they heard this. It was entertaining to see the hatred, shock, and irritation in their eyes.
Mu Xingyu was amused by Mu Siyin’s audacity to compare with her. “You call yourself a designer? I was already acknowledged as a fashion designer before I graduated. All my trophies will tell you that.
“You’re nothing compared to me. You’re just another graduate from a famous university, yet you want to be hired as a jewelry designer? Dream on.”
Mu Heyuan and the others remained silent. It was visible from their expressions that Mu Xingyu was right.
Mu Siyin let out a chilly laugh as she placed the ball pen down with a smack.
Her actions shocked those around her.
“I want to hear it from you, Dad. Yes or no.”
Mu Heyuan’s face darkened instantly. Mu Siyin was obviously threatening him, and she would go back on her word if he denied her.
Mu Heyuan was so pissed that he wanted to slam his palms on the table.
Clenching his jaw, Mu Heyuan lifted the frame of his glasses and nodded his head helplessly. “Fine. You just want to be a designer, right? Let me tell you something, though. Whether you remain in office relies solely on your abilities.”
Mu Siyin lifted her brows. “Sure. I got it!”
Mu XIngyu was on the brink of exploding in anger. She spoke up, “Dad! All the jewelry designers in our company are highly experienced and have gone through multiple assessments! What can a mere graduate like her do?”
