Let’s Go Get Married
To be honest, Clayton felt so much pressure when facing Floyd. Even when Floyd did not speak,
Clayton had a feeling that death was not worth mentioning.
Once Floyd spoke, it was not so bad.
Floyd’s every word was for Nicole’s sake. It was only natural that Floyd wanted the best for his
daughter.
Kai watched them leave happily. He then went to Director Sven to register and do a medical
examination.
It was really unbelievable that Floyd would love Nicole so much that he extended his love to Clayton.
After leaving the hospital, Nicole told everyone the good news that she was pregnant.
Although her identity was still the same, Nicole felt that having a little baby in her womb was really
wonderful.
Nicole touched her belly and looked at Clayton, who was driving.
She said with a smile, “Let’s go get married…”
Clayton slammed on the brakes. His face changed dramatically, and his eyes surged with emotions.
Nicole was startled. Fortunately, she wore a seat belt.
She patted her chest, but Clayton suddenly leaned over and held her tightly in his arms.
For a moment, Nicole felt like she was out of breath.
Then, Clayton let go of Nicole and looked at her with a deep gaze. The surging emotions in his eyes
were suppressed.
“There’s no rush,” Clayton said.
Nicole wrinkled her eyebrows in thought, ‘Is this what Clayton would say? Hasn’t he always wanted to
marry her? What does he mean by that?’
She blinked. “You don’t want to? Is it because my father said something to you?”
Although Nicole thought that Floyd would not say anything excessive, what if Clayton took what Floyd
said in a fit of anger to heart?
Clayton smiled and held her hand. His voice was warm and low. “Of course not. I haven’t changed my
nationality yet, so it’ll be troublesome with the marriage formalities. I’ll have someone start the
procedures right away.”
Nicole breathed a sigh of relief, settled her heart, and looked at him with a smile.
This was more like it.
Before this. Nicole had been very repulsive and resistant toward marriage, but now, she
vaguely had some sense of anticipation.
Nicole looked at her phone. Logan sent her a few messages that she missed. It looked like there was
something urgent.
“Send me to the office. There are some things I need to take care of.”
Clayton pursed his lips and hesitantly spoke.
“Is it convenient for you to go to the office now? I’m afraid your body can’t take it.”
Nicole laughed. “I don’t feel anything at all now. Everything’s normal. I’m just a bit picky about what I
eat. It’s okay. We even have employees who are 9 months pregnant working at the office! I’m nowhere
close…”
Clayton sighed. “Okay. I know I can’t persuade you, but you have to promise that if you feel unwell, you
must call me first, okay?”
Nicole nodded, then looked away from him.
“Are you doing it for me or the baby?”
Clayton was stunned by this sudden question.
Nicole just found it funny and wanted to see how he answered.
Clayton hesitated for a few seconds before looking at her and responding.
“If you’re not pregnant, wouldn’t you call me when you’re feeling unwell?”
Nicole was stunned and did not expect him to put her on the spot.
The difficulty of this question was close to hers.
Fine!
He won.
“Of course, I will. I just don’t want you to be so nice to me because of the baby. Otherwise, I’ll get my
hopes up.”
Nicole replied bluntly.
Clayton paused for a second. He looked so gentle when he laughed.
“Babe, don’t you know by now who I’m being nice to?”
Originally, Clayton had no hope for the arrival of this child. How could the child compare to Nicole?
Nicole bowed her head and smiled without making a sound.
In her heart, she already heard his answer.
