Floyd playfully turned the topic away while telling the butler to bring the good wine out.
Nicole followed and turned around to see Kai and Julie still standing there. It looked like they were
discussing something.
They had to be separated for half a year, maybe more.
The two of them would definitely not make a decision too easily.
After the meal, Felicia proposed to go back to the hotel to rest.
Since they had known each other for so long, she did not stand on ceremony. Although it was just one
night, she gave Kai time to think about it.
She had to fly to Denmark the next day and did not have time to wait long.
The family did not interfere with Kai’s decision.
Kai and Julie discussed it. Julie insisted that Kai go with Felicia for the private training.
Her attitude was obvious.
Kai could not go on like this.
He should have a career he loves.
Kai was torn for a long time and finally agreed, but he was still worried about Julie. Before leaving, he
instructed Nicole several times to look after Julie on his behalf, so much so that Nicole was getting
annoyed at him.
Julie and Nicole sent Kai off at the airport. He was fully equipped, and his whereabouts were strictly
confidential. Kai reluctantly said goodbye to Julie.
Julie was very calm and did not say anything much besides telling him to take care of himself. Kai was
a little disappointed. “Julie, I really want to marry you before I leave.” Julie was stunned and looked up
at him. “We’re still young. There’s no rush.” “I’m scared you won’t wait for me,” Kai said bluntly.
Julie blinked. “Kai, the time we’ve been together isn’t long nor short, but it’s been longer than half a
year. It’ll pass by in the blink of an eye. We all look forward to your performance!” Kai reached out to
hug her and sighed again.
“If you need anything, remember to call me or send me a message. I’ll reply as soon as I see it.”
Julie nodded in acknowledgment. “Don’t worry. Nicole is still here, isn’t she? She’s very capable!”
Kai smiled and stroked her head.
“I’ll say a few words to Lil N. You wait here.”
Julie nodded and had no intention of following him over. She sat there waiting for them. Nicole watched
Kai walk over and was a little surprised.
“Shouldn’t you be using every second possible to say goodbye to Julie now?” Kai’s smile stiffened for a
moment, then a willful smile curled on his lips.
“I won’t say anything else since she’s better than you. Do you know what to do if something happens?”
Nicole smiled. “Of course. She’s my best friend. No matter what difficulties she has, I’ll spare no effort
to help her!”
Kai lowered his head and chuckled. His smile was slightly pale.
Nicole did not understand. “Why are you unhappy? Is being apart making you that sad? It’s not like you
can’t call each other.” Kai pursed his lips and looked at Julie, who was sitting there playing with her
phone. His voice lowered slightly.
“I don’t know why, but I feel like she doesn’t like me as much as before.” Nicole frowned. “What makes
you think that? She has always liked you.” Kai smiled but did not continue to speak. Nicole sighed.
“You’re not a child anymore, Kai. Your relationship hasn’t even completely settled yet. Why do you want
a love that’s like a moth to a flame? She experienced so much, so it’s only natural that she
subconsciously protects herself. You have to understand.” Kai paused and suddenly smiled. Nicole was
right.
In the beginning, it was him who went to great lengths to make Julie change her mind. What did it
matter if she loved him a little less?
