Nicole was silent and thought about it for a moment.
“My company’s lawyer hasn’t arrived yet and will be delayed on the road. Let’s make an appointment
some other time.”
Since the matter came to this point, signing the contract was not so important anymore.
With that, Nicole simply turned around and left.
Clayton nodded slightly and followed behind Nicole. He completely avoided the gaze of the couple
behind her.
Inside the elevator, Nicole’s face sank.
“Mr. Sloan, who do you think is lying?”
Clayton did not know what Yuliana said, but he saw her running out with the child in her arms earlier.
He recognized Yuliana from the celebration party.
Clayton narrowed his eyes and hesitated for a few seconds. He said with certainty, “They’re all lying.”
Nicole looked at him in surprise. Clayton smiled faintly and swept away the panic and intense feeling that
Nicole felt earlier.
It was like fine spring rain that made her relax.
Nicole also smiled.
The elevator arrived at the lobby. Only Logan was left waiting there. “Where’s Yuliana?”
Logan said, “She ran away. I couldn’t stop her.”
Yuliana did not even say a word of thanks, but Nicole did not care.
Logan looked at Clayton and nodded. “Thank you, Mr.
Sloan.”
Nicole was suspicious. Clayton smiled warmly and explained, “I was just here discussing some business
and happened to pass by, so Logan asked me to go up to help out…” No wonder. Clayton had saved her
twice, so Nicole felt bad if she did not treat Clayton to a meal. Nicole proposed. “Let’s eat together?”
Clayton nodded. There was no reason to refuse. “Sure.” On the way, Nicole called Grant and told him
about Andrew’s situation.
Grant did not know much about Andrew as a person either because they only had a cooperative
relationship.
After Grant heard the story, he was silent for a moment. ” You did the right thing. Don’t sign the contract
until things are clear.”
Too many bosses with corrupt moral character caused the demise of their businesses because of certain
things. Not to mention, this even concerned Yuliana, a public figure, as well as abuse, which was a vile
behavior that would make anyone infuriated. Although there were some social interactions in the mall
that one needed to suit the other party’s liking, there were some things that could not be tolerated
because it would implicate the company’s image. They could not risk it. Clayton chose a restaurant with
a quiet atmosphere.
Logan ate with them. The meal was calm and pleasant, and not at all awkward. After the meal, Clayton
proposed to go to J&L Corporation to check on the closing work of the project. Nicole had wanted to take
time to go and see it, so she gladly agreed.
Gerard Lichman had something to do, so Molly Stewart accompanied them instead.
Molly knew more about the progress of the research, so she was brief and concise in her presentation.
Nicole was holding a cup of coffee when she saw Molly jumping over to her. Nicole hurriedIy dodged her.
“Molly, calm down!”
Molly immediately stopped. “I haven’t seen anyone outside the company for a long time!”
Nicole frowned. “You didn’t get a break?”
Molly glanced at Clayton, then nodded and greeted him before she walked forward tugging Nicole’s arm.
“Don’t mention it. Mr. Ferguson dug up a few god-level geniuses from Denmark. Everyone’s still getting
to know each other. They’re so hardworking, so of course, we can’t lag behind. It’s a matter of national
dignity!” Molly even raised a small fist. Nicole could not help but laugh, but she looked at Molly
sympathetically. “It’s been a long time since you’ve seen my second brother, right?”
Molly was embarrassed and looked left and right. ”Yeah! The Great God Maverick has a confidential
national research project in his hand, so he’s much busier than me.” Nicole heard Maverick mention that
he would be in a closed study and would not show up in at least two months. However, Nicole still felt
sorry for Molly.
She grabbed Molly’s hand, pursed her lips, and begged pitifully. “Molly, you can’t dump him because of
your infrequent meetups!”
