I‘m the Only One Who Didn’t Know
Clayton finished freshening up. He went upstairs to change his clothes and came back down with a list
in his hand, which he handed over to Kai. “Grant and Aida have already left. I didn’t have time to give it
to them, so can you pass this on for me?”
Kai wrinkled his eyebrows. He took it and looked at the long list of books.
“What’s this? ‘A Guide for Babies and Toddlers’, ‘What to Do When Your Child Cries’, ‘How to Be a
Qualified Parent… What’s all this?”
Clayton paused. “I’ve read these books before and found them quite useful, but some of them aren’t
available here. I’ll get someone to bring them back from abroad. These are available here, so Grant
and Aida don’t have to waste their time looking around...”
In terms of raising children, Clayton was really experienced.
Nicole nodded. “Grant and Aida will definitely need it!”
Kai did not understand and looked up in a daze. He was puzzled.
“Why would they need this?”
Clayton said, “Isn’t Aida pregnant? She can start making preparations. Early preparation has its
advantages. She shouldn’t just rely on the nannies. After all, they’re outsiders
Kai still did not react to Clayton’s words.
“Pregnant? Aida’s pregnant?!”
Kai was in disbelief.
Nicole raised her head with the same incredulous look.
“You don’t know?”
Clayton also looked at Kai the same way.
Kai pointed at himself speechlessly. “I didn’t know!”
No one told him!
Kai looked at the two people and suddenly had some inexplicable anger in his heart. “All of you know
about this?!”
Nicole and Clayton nodded their heads.
Kai suddenly felt so aggrieved. “Does the whole family know? A m I the only one who didn’t know about
it?”
Nicole paused and did not answer.
That was most likely the case.
Kai said, “No wonder Grant wanted to kill me when I asked Aida to drink last night…”
Kai was dispirited when he left. Nicole and Clayton simply cleaned up. The two of them rarely got to
enjoy their time alone.
They were a little bored, so they decided to go out for a walk.
They went to a nearby university town not far away, but Nicole was worried about Clayton’s health.
Clayton was adamant that there was no problem.
Nicole wanted to take the subway, but when she thought of Yvette’s phone call this morning, they
decided to drive there.
The car could not enter the food street. They walked to the front and bought whatever snacks which
looked nice. Luca and the others followed not far behind them.
Clayton was interested in everything and listened patiently as Nicole explained how these snacks were
made.
Although Nicole only understood a little, she spoke so eloquently that she could fool people.
As they walked, someone called out to Nicole in front and waved toward her.
“Nicole!”
This voice was quite familiar, but Nicole could not remember who it was.
That person turned around and arrived in front of Nicole.
“Nicole, I really wasn’t mistaken! I haven’t seen you in a long time. Why didn’t you show up to the past
few salons?”
Hayley was the daughter of Golden Sea Corporation’s President. Since the last time Ava York failed to
become Hayley’s stepmother, Hayley was revitalized and would attend all kinds of social gatherings.
She also spoke with confidence.
Nicole was a little surprised. Her voice was light as she asked,” Why are you here?”
Hayley patted her chest. “I’m studying here! Previously, I was abroad for an exchange program and felt
uneasy. I don’t wanna come back and find out that my father has illegitimate children! So, I simply
decided to stay.”
Nicole was used to Hayley’s straightforward personality. She laughed and said, “Wow, you have the
mood for that? Are you here for a party?”
“I’m having lunch with a few classmates. Wanna join us?”
Hayley looked at the slightly pale but handsome gentleman standing next to Nicole and was slightly
dumbfounded.
“Nicole, you haven’t broken up with him yet?”
