Chapter 190: Demon Freshmen
Ye Zeyu and the rest all stared at Su Huiqing.
She had disappeared for nearly an entire day but remained calm and steady as always. Nevertheless, they could distinctly feel that something was different about her.
Firstly, she had definitely changed her uniform.
It was clearly one size bigger.
“Class monitor, you know how to create explosives?” Ye Zeyu and the gang were looking at Su Huiqing in wonder.
They had this feeling… wasn’t this year’s batch of freshmen just a bit too wicked?
They had given Bertha a sound beating right at the start.
Now, it seemed like they were going to do something major again.
However, Yu Xiangyang patted Ye Zeyu on the shoulder. “Brother, don’t worry. This will not be the first time for Qingqing. Safety guaranteed.”
The first time was in Green City. Su Huiqing made quite a large number of explosives packets then.
If Ye Zeyu knew that the various new weapons produced by Apollo had all come from Su Huiqing, he wouldn’t be so shocked at the fact that she knew how to create such stuff.
Su Huiqing just surveyed their surroundings.
She located all the necessary materials required.
This was no laboratory, and it was impossible to find ready-made chemicals.
But all those who were well-versed in explosives would know how to make do with whatever materials at hand. And the explosive capabilities would be just as powerful.
Su Huiqing had once caught an international terrorist who made use of white sugar to create a bomb that took down an entire skyscraper.
She glanced sideways and instructed the rest to siphon off petrol from the military vehicles at the foot of the mountain.
They were also to dig out the bombs from the ground.
She then lowered her eyes and started to get busy herself. One by one, glass bottles appeared in her hands.
Su Huiqing tossed the last bottle into Gu Li’s hands.
Under the dim moonlight, the glass bottle reflected a weak glow.
“Qingqing, be careful.” Qu Yan couldn’t help gasping at Su Huiqing’s nonchalant manner. She was worried that the glass bottle would explode if it fell to the ground. “Things will be bad if we accidentally blow ourselves up.”
“It doesn’t matter even if it explodes. It won’t hurt anyone.” Su Huiqing looked away and pressed down on her helmet. She smiled. “Let’s go and test it out.”
Holding the explosives handed to him, Gu Li glanced at Su Huiqing.
Under those clear features, she seemed to be deep in thought.
He might be having the wrong impression, but he felt that Su Huiqing appeared somewhat different from before.
He continued to mull over this as he followed Su Huiqing’s directions, to bury her explosives by the road where the seniors had implanted their own bombs.
“Are we really going to blow up this road?” Ye Zeyu clutched his bottle of explosives, feeling somewhat unreal.
Wouldn’t they be caught and beaten up by those Class S seniors?
Su Huiqing glanced at him as she tugged at the collar of her somewhat baggy uniform. Her tone was relaxed. “Let’s blow up this road first, and then go capture some Class S people to ask about the next few checkpoints.”
“You?!”
Everyone, even the usually calm and steady Gu Li, was shocked by her final sentence.
All the other freshmen were trying their best to evade those perverse Class S seniors, even as they tried to figure out how to cross the mine-filled road.
But now, Su Huiqing was audaciously suggesting to capture some Class S seniors to seek out information?
Yu Xiangyang quickly recomposed himself, and a wicked glint flashed across his eyes. “Good. You don’t know how terribly we were tortured by those seniors while you were not around.”
Qu Yan gazed down at her somewhat charred clothes, before glancing up and exchanging looks with Gu Li.
Also smirking, she took out the bottle of explosives from her pocket. “Sounds like fun.”
Ye Zeyu observed those four demon freshmen, with Su Huiqing as the leader.
Thinking of how wretched they were after being tortured by those Class S seniors, he hesitated just a little before also nodding.
Su Huiqing’s face was fresh and lovely as always. She gazed at her team and said calmly, “Let’s go.”
The group of seven immediately moved off!
Ye Zeyu tugged at his helmet. Looking at that slender figure leading a bunch of freshmen to challenge the authority of Class S—this had never happened before in the whole history of Monster University. Just the thought of it made his blood surge.
Meanwhile, somewhere not far off.
“To be able to reach the 22nd checkpoint, you guys are not that bad.” One of the white-clad Class S seniors was still holding a ball-shaped explosive. He grinned at the bunch of freshmen, still in military uniform. “Hand over your access passes and get off this mountain.”
The first half of the wilderness training was to test the freshmen’s survival skills.
The second half was to challenge the freshmen’s boundaries and push them to their limits.
Most of these students would end up having some contact with the International Battlefield. This was a way to introduce them to such challenges.
Every checkpoint tested a different boundary.
“We will never hand over our access passes until we reach the 50th checkpoint!” The freshmen stared at the Class S seniors with trepidation.
Handing over their access passes would mean their journey ended at the 22nd checkpoint.
“Pffft, you newbies truly have no idea what’s good for you. In our entire history, no one has successfully passed all 50 checkpoints.” The Class S senior commented in a mocking tone. “My dear juniors, allow your senior to give you your first lesson in Monster University. In this school, there are exceptional talents everywhere. Don’t overestimate yourselves.”
Not wanting to waste any more time, the seniors continued with their mission to do all they could to stop the freshmen’s progress.
The wave of a hand!
Bang! bang!
Dust and ash flew in all directions.
Not only did this ball-shaped bomb contain a certain amount of explosive power, it would also emit a chemical gas that would render one paralyzed.
“My dear juniors.” One of the white-clad seniors stood beside several freshmen. “Your wilderness training ends now.”
With that, he reached out to retrieve their access passes.
“Is that right?”
Right this moment, a clear voice suddenly rang out from behind them.
The Class S folks turned and noticed a young girl standing nearby. She had one hand tucked into her pocket and was grinning at them, looking very lovely and youthful.
“Yet another bunch of freshmen.” The eyes of the Class S seniors lit up. They waved and smiled even wider. “You have come just in time. We will take all of you down together, and not waste any more time here. We can get off this mountain earlier then!”
They would not need to stay here any longer the moment all the freshmen failed to pass this checkpoint.
Su Huiqing just smirked, one hand still tucked into her pocket.
She remained unmoving, raising just one eyebrow. Her black eyes had not a single ounce of fear. “Take us all down? Don’t celebrate too early.”
The Class S folks laughed. “This batch of freshmen is truly arrogant.”
The focus of this checkpoint was the clearance of those bombs.
Explosives were the main items in use.
With the flick of a wrist, five ball-shaped bombs were tossed over.
Su Huiqing had already been shrewdly calculating the distance between her and the Class S seniors. She dodged perfectly the moment they flung the explosives at her.
Landing steadily, she adjusted her helmet and smirked. “Bang.”
“My dear seniors, have a taste of my thunderbolt bombs!”
Yu Xiangyang was the first to scurry down from a nearby tree. He flung a bottle of explosives at the Class S seniors.
The entire 22nd checkpoint ignited in flames!
The smell of gunpowder permeated the air.
The freshmen who had been cowed into huddling on the ground stared at the entire scene with widened eyes.
The Class S seniors crawled up wretchedly from the dirt, looking very miserable. One of them glared at the gleeful Yu Xiangyang, before glancing again at the relaxed-looking Su Huiqing. The shock was clear in his eyes. “Damn! These foolish freshmen!”
Right after he spoke, Qu Yan dug into her pocket for the final glass bottle. She flung it toward him.
Looking at those seven freshmen all bearing wicked smiles, those suspicious Class S seniors all dove to the ground.
Their originally white uniforms had all turned black.
Su Huiqing smirked.
After the explosion, she walked over, her eyes dark and profound. “Senior, tell us something about the seniors in the next few checkpoints?”
Those seniors stared at Su Huiqing with trepidation.
They couldn’t resist swallowing hard. “It’s all classified. We can’t tell you.”
Su Huiqing tucked her hands into her pockets. She straightened her spine and shot those seniors another devious grin. “Do you want to tell us now? Or do you want to wait until after we give you a proper thrashing?”
