Chapter 159: Are You Tired Of Living
“I know my limits.” Yu Shijin didn’t turn back and repeated his words.
He walked up to his car at a leisure pace.
And drove straight to the hospital.
His chin was locked tightly and his black eyes and expression were extremely cold.
From the time he received that set of documents on Angie, he already knew why Su Huiqing helped Angie.
Yu Shijin’s eyes darkened as he drove towards the hospital.
After so many years, those scenes were still in his mind.
Although he had already destroyed that laboratory, some things didn’t fade with time.
Especially when it came to Su Huiqing.
He remembered it more clearly than anyone else.
Similar to her, Angie was also an experimental subject.
That was why he had rushed to the police station to look for Su Huiqing in such a panic previously.
And now, Angie was dead.
This was what baffled Yu Shijin the most. Just a while ago, he had sent people to watch over Angie, and she was about to recover already.
Everything happened too suddenly.
For everything else, Su Huiqing would be able to face them alone. However, Yu Shijin was only worried about this matter.
He pressed on the walkie-talkie and instructed, “Send a set of Angie’s current information to me again.”
When he arrived at the hospital, Su Huiqing stood before the hospital bed without saying a word.
Angie’s biological parents were no longer around, and she only had an uncle left. This time, with the scandal, even her uncle ignored her.
In the end, it was Su Huiqing who helped her with her funeral arrangements.
Not many people came to see Angie—only a couple of fans.
On the day of her burial, Ye Zixuan observed from afar.
It was drizzling.
Yu Shijin was holding an umbrella. When he walked past Ye Zixuan, he paused for a moment, turned sideways, and looked at him. “Not going over?”
Ye Zixuan paused.
Then, he shook his head and pursed his lips tightly. “I won’t forgive her.”
Ye Zixuan looked up at Ye Zixuan coldly. “Might as well, let her leave in peace.”
After the funeral, the discussions online had yet to stop.
Su Huiqing was holding her phone and refreshing her social media.
“I guess she died from overdosing on drugs?”
“This kind of person deserves to die.”
“Karma exists.”
“…”
Even Su Huiqing was not spared on social media.
Everyone pointed their fingers at her online.
Only Su Huiqing’s fans were very calm.
Su Huiqing closed the page and stuffed the phone back into her pocket.
She looked sideways at Yu Shijin, reached out over her mouth, and spoke with a cold, hoarse voice, “Brother Yu, can you do me a favor?”
She wanted to ask Yu Shijin for help on retrieving national certificates.
Su Huiqing could also obtain it, but she would need a couple of days’ time.
But at a time like now, she didn’t want to continue waiting any longer.
Angie’s death was a thorn in the flesh for her.
A thorn which couldn’t be removed.
Cutting her wrist.
Su Huiqing couldn’t make sense of it. Why would someone who was about to recover choose to commit suicide?
“To obtain Angie’s certificate?” Yu Shijin looked at her with a hand in his pocket.
His eyes were darkened.
“Yup.” Su Huiqing smiled slightly. The cold sunlight shone on the side of her face, making her look somehow harsh. “Some people have to pay the price.”
Since Angie was already dead, it wasn’t reasonable for her to still shoulder those unnecessary accusations.
She could also obtain the certification, just that she needed to spend more time.
However, at a time like this, Su Huiqing didn’t want to wait any longer.
Yu Shijin acted very quickly. Almost as quickly as he gave the instructions, the information was all gathered.
Su Huiqing called for a press conference.
Right at the opening, the reporters all came with ill intentions. An experienced reporter asked sharply, “Miss Su, you’ve been making Angie’s funeral arrangements and even called for a press conference today—are you trying to get famous with Angie’s hot topic?”
To get famous using a dead person—this was the most vicious speculation towards anyone.
Su Huiqing slowly reached out, supported her hand on the table, and worked up a tinge of a cold smile. “Do you think I need to get famous with Sister Angie’s hot topic?”
The experienced reporter was speechless for a moment.
With Su Huiqing’s identity, indeed, there wasn’t a need.
There were other reporters with questions.
Su Huiqing didn’t wish to answer these questions. These weren’t her main intention today.
“She had worked so hard and almost succeeded.” She moved away from the center seat and played a video of Angie before she slit her wrist for the reporters present. “Why can’t you guys just give her a little more time?”
“I’ve always believed that the world and its people all stand on the side of righteousness.” Su Huiqing stuck a hand in her pocket and enunciated each word with a harsh gaze. “But I’m only realizing now that I was wrong. I shouldn’t have convinced Sister Angie to believe someone that totally didn’t love her enough.”
After raining for a few consecutive days, the day was already clear.
Everyone went silent for a moment until someone said, “However, as a public figure, it was Angie’s fault for spreading negativity to her fans.”
“Negativity?” Hearing this, Su Huiqing worked up a half-smile.
She reached out and extracted a few pieces of paper among a pile of documents which all bore the national stamp.
“Do you all know that there’s something called an experimental subject?” Su Huiqing looked at the reporter who spoke up coldly.
Yu Shijin had always been standing not far away, looking down and smoking. From the start till the end, he didn’t interfere with Su Huiqing.
Till she said this statement.
His downcast eyes were filled with harshness. Yu Shijin put out his cigarette and walked with big strides up to Su Huiqing.
In a sea of frenzy, he pulled her away with a cold face.
Upon seeing a tall, cool, and handsome man appear, the reporters immediately focused their cameras.
However, very quickly, they were stopped by a group of bodyguards in black.
“You’ll handle the rest.” Yu Shijin stopped briefly in his tracks, turned his gaze, and said to Chu Xuning.
Ye Zixuan, who had been paying attention to the press conference, let slip the phone in his hand suddenly.
His expression was also blank and lost.
No matter how his assistant called out at him, he couldn’t recover.
“Sorry, I acted recklessly.” Su Huiqing leaned on the wall and pouted her lips.
Her gorgeous and clear eyes seemed slightly lost.
Experimental subjects were confidential in the International Association—by saying it out like this, it would spark fear and panic.
Yu Shijin looked at her with his pair of deep-set eyes.
He opened his mouth and was about to speak.
Suddenly, a gush of sweetness came up his throat. He clenched his hand into a fist, placed it by his lips, and coughed a few times.
He managed to intentionally suppress it.
He could keep it from others, but not to the medically skilled Su Huiqing.
She reached out directly for the pulse on his left hand, and her face sank. “Are you tired of living?!”
