Chapter 929: Demonic Stampede (Part 2)

Nailisi sprinted to the front. She was not completely disconnected from her demon army. She was wearing her magic war boots and all 8,000 demons were at the same pace as her. If she ran fast, so did the demons.
This was one of the techniques that devils used to command their armies, Demonic Stampede.
All the demons were connected as one. Since Nailisi’s devil-form was close to perfection, she was able to utilize some devil techniques. A real devil would be able to lead countless demons as if they were one entity. When they all attacked together at once, even giant dragons had to get out of the way.
Demons had also fallen, just like humans, but their techniques were passed down naturally through lineages and had never disappeared. As the power of the Myers Mainland gradually recovered, the demons would benefit as well. They would be able to unleash even more techniques of higher levels. The techniques had always been in their bloodlines.
The demons charged into the campsite. As it was the rear of the campsite, there were many defensive facilities. The Sikeqinyans did not expect to use them against demons. Five yard tall demons were able to cover a lot more distance than humans with every leap.
No one was able to stop Nailisi. As she wielded her long lance, the power of a devil was not something that ordinary warriors could withstand. Nailisi was just like a golden grand swordmaster who had yet to learn how to unleash sword aura. Based on power alone, even a golden grand swordmaster might not be as powerful as Nailisi.
Behind the 8,000 demons were 2,000 human magic heavy-armored soldiers. The soldiers did not join in the battle. Instead, they joined the auxiliary soldiers in bringing up the rear for the demons. Once they entered the campsite, it would be the demon armies that would defend the rear.
Nailisi never really thought of this destroying the campsite, which contained an army of 200,000 soldiers. The entire camp stretched across tens of miles and she only wanted to pass through it, contrary to what Aini wanted.
She was holding her long lance in her right hand and instead of her giant shield, she was holding her blood soul tower in her left hand. The demon army began their slaughter while Nailisi was absorbing the souls hungrily. She might not be doing it as well as a Holy Master, but her blood soul tower would be able to repair broken souls, so it did not matter if she was too violent or aggressive.
The equipment owned by Sikeqinyan soldiers and mercenaries were of decent quality. When the demon army finally slowed down their advance, the amount of arrows from both sides began to increase. That was when the demons spread out and charged towards both flanks while the magic heavy-armored soldiers filled up the gaps in the middle with the auxiliary soldiers.
Nailisi monitored the rhythm of the attack carefully. It might seem as if their attack has slowed down, but that was because they had been traveling in arcs instead of a straight line. That prevented the archers on both flanks from being able to aim at their enemies accurately.
Nailisi was also closely monitoring the casualties. The enemy’s sorcerer had yet to appear, but that was when Aini suddenly launched an attack. The gate on the north side opened and countless spirit soldiers charged out and attacked the Sikeqinyan camp directly.
As the number of spirit soldiers grew, even the Holy Masters at the rear of the campsite began to head to the front to help out. No sorcerer would be preoccupied with the demon army when there were so many spirits, more than 100,000, attacking from the front. If the sorcerer did not stop the attack from the front, the Sikeqinyan army would be doomed.
Nailisi was not concerned about her own safety at all. Most of her techniques were more or less at their highest levels. With her Sword of Rules in hand, she did not care even if she encountered a grade-9 sorcerer. Her devil-form would give her gigantic wings, which would allow her to fly as fast as a sorcerer.
Nailisi might not be able to unleash the full power of the Sword of Rules, but the sword itself was so sharp that even a grade-9 magic shield would not be its match.
The rear of the campsite was echoing with thundering footsteps. The demonic stampede had forced the ground to start shaking so violently that the Sikeqinyan soldiers in the near vicinity were unable to remain stable.
At that moment, the auxiliary soldiers of the temple army began to unleash their powers. They could very well be the auxiliary soldiers with the best equipment on the entire Mainland. All of them wore exquisite armor that possessed magic defense abilities. They were armed with magic long lances that were capable of penetrating heavy armors, and no other heavy baggage. They were like the guards of the magic heavy-armored soldiers.
Dong, dong, dong…
Wherever the demon army passed through, the entire camp was almost completely flattened, the barracks were destroyed, and the arrow towers were overthrown. That was when the main army realized that the attack on the rear of their camp was not just a distraction. It was meant to be fatal.
The armies on both flanks, that were meant to defend against the army from Lonestar City, had no choice but to attack. One of them sent help to the front of the camp while the other charged straight at the demon army.
When Nailisi saw an army of 10,000 approach, she could not help but laugh. A grand swordmaster had finally appeared, but she did not know if it was a black metal or silver grand swordmaster. If it was a silver grand swordmaster, they might still exchange a few blows, but if it was a black metal grand swordmaster, Nailisi would kill them with a single blow.
She had been concealing her power by attacking the big equipment while letting her army battle with the enemy. After such a long wait, a grand swordmaster accompanied by a sorcerer had finally appeared. Nailisi was extremely excited.
The sorcerer was only grade-7!
If it was a grade-8 sorcerer, Nailisi would still have been worried about getting hurt, and if it was a grade-9 sorcerer, she would have had to turn into her imp-form and used Grey Memory. If she battled a grade-9 sorcerer in devil-form, she would probably be severely injured.
The incoming army might possess excellent equipment, but without anyone powerful leading them, Nailisi was not worried about them at all.
When they were 800 yards away, the grade-7 sorcerer cast an ice shield on the grand swordmaster before flying into the sky and stopping 200 yards away.
The sorcerer was confident of stopping ordinary crossbow arrows from a distance of 200 yards. Since the enemy consisted only of foot soldiers, without any big equipment, the sorcerer was not too concerned about them. He only observed Nailisi carefully, who was in her devil-form with a pair of gigantic wings.
He did not wish to fight that monster. He gripped his magic staff tightly, ready to fight if necessary. The magic staff could store a spell, so in addition to another spell that he could cast instantly, it would be a grade-8 spell followed by a grade-7 spell.
Nailisi turned around and charged towards the grand swordmaster. She spread her wings, which created a powerful air current. The 24 ancient warriors, who had been keeping themselves hidden within the army, followed Nailisi. No one else would be able to command them around.
It was a black metal grandmaster in peak condition who was leading the army. He was wielding a gigantic horse-killing sword, which was covered with magic patterns.
Nailisi charged straight at him with her long lance aimed towards his chest. The tip of her long lance was so huge that if her attack succeeded, the black metal grand swordmaster’s entire chest would be caved in.
He decided to fly up into the sky. He twisted and contorted his body in mid-air before slashing at Nailisi’s long lance with his horse-killing sword. When the two weapons clashed, there was a loud sound and a faint mark appeared on Nailisi’s long lance.
Both of them were taken aback. The black metal grand swordmaster had cut apart countless weapons in his lifetime, even the sword aura of a silver grand swordmaster would not be able to block his magic weapon. There was merely a faint mark on the monster’s long lance though.
Nailisi was even more shocked. Although the long lance was not infused with any magic, it was still something refined by the Grandmaster and was made with materials that were harder than crystallized metals. If it had been her original long lance, it might already have been cut in half by the grand swordmaster’s sword!
Many thoughts crossed Nailisi’s mind, but she did not hesitate and attacked with her long lance. The black metal grand swordmaster’s hands became numb and his entire ice shield began to shatter.
The grade-7 sorcerer was powerful too, since the ice shield that he cast was able to transform so that the it helped to take the blow for the black metal grand swordmaster.
The grand swordmaster was also able to react quickly by turning sideways and attacking again.
The long lance was 30 yards long, which was a distance the black metal grand swordmaster could cover in a leap. Nailisi knew that if the black metal grand swordmaster got close enough to her, her armor would not be able to block off that mysterious horse-killing sword. She put away her blood soul tower and took out her Sword of Rules to block off the grand swordmaster’s strike.
The Sword of Rules was unharmed. It was a pity that Nailisi’s swordsmanship was not as good as the grand swordmaster’s. Both of them exchanged a few blows as the black metal grand swordmaster deflected Nailisi’s blow and struck with his gigantic horse-killing sword. As Nailisi was also looking out for the sorcerer that was still in the sky, her hands relaxed and barely managed to block off the horse-killing sword.
Nailisi wished she had a sorcerer by her side; she would have been able to kill the grand swordmaster anytime if she did. The grade-7 sorcerer in the sky was very experienced in combat. He made no attempt to cast any spells, and instead, only continued to stare at the battle between Nailisi and the grand swordmaster.
Nailisi thought about it and suddenly took a few steps backwards and took out her gigantic shield. The materials that the shield was made of were slightly poorer than that of the long lance, but when the black metal grand swordmaster hacked it with his sword, it was stuck in the shield.
Nailisi pushed the shield forward and the black metal grand swordmaster was pressed onto the ground. The soil here was soft, so the grand swordmaster was not crushed. Nevertheless, he was still completely immobilized by the gigantic shield.
Nailisi stood up and leapt towards the sorcerer in the sky.
The sorcerer laughed coldly. A powerful light shone from the magic staff in his hands as he cast a grade-8 spell. Nailisi only saw darkness. It was as if the distance between her and the sorcerer had been stretched infinitely. The outline of the sorcerer became more and more blurry, until it eventually vanished.
Poor demon!
When the sorcerer saw the demon being controlled by his dark-element spell, he prepared to unleash several more spells. His hands gesticulated wildly as powerful fire-element ripples covered a space of 200 square yards. Between him and Nailisi, a gigantic net of fire was weaved, and it covered Nailisi.
The color of the fire net was also black. The flames danced so violently that the surrounding space began to tremble. That was an extremely rare grade-7 spell, Purgatory Web. The temperature of the black flames was so high that even a grade-9 shield would not be able to withstand it. The sorcerer had managed to kill powerful grade-9 opponents with those two techniques before.
“Oh, beautiful demon, your horns belong to me now!”
The sorcerer’s eyes flicked with excitement. He never imagined that he would be able to get his hands on a gigantic demon like that before he advanced to grade-8. On top of that, there was also a pair of excellent horns on the demon.
With the horns, he would be able to refine powerful magic equipment. He would be the most powerful grade-8 sorcerer!
