Mu Mingtang still stood there and looked towards the direction Xie Xuanchen left, unable to bear to look away. Several young daughters-in-law of the Xu family turned away to wipe their tears. Senior Madam Xu sighed and said, “It’s windy outside. Please come back indoors, Your Highness.”
After Xie Xuanchen left, Mu Mingtang temporarily stayed at the Xu Residence. Life with the Xu family was indeed very lively. They were afraid that she would not feel comfortable alone, so they tried different ways to make her happy. Nevertheless, Mu Mingtang’s heart never felt truly peaceful for a moment.
She couldn’t help but wonder where Xie Xuanchen had gone every day and whether he would be in danger. The slightest change in weather made her frightened. Mu Mingtang understood 1st Madam Xu’s mood very well, and so, she could also understand her intentions of not wanting her daughter to marry a soldier.
