After Lu Xian Yu was discharged from the hospital, he ordered his men to kill the rest of the Green Turtle Gang, including their families. He didn't show any mercy to them.
Meanwhile, ever since the terrible night that Little Melon encountered, the little boy would always have nightmares every night even if Xia Meilin accompanied him in his sleep.
Xia Meilin was so troubled when she saw Little Melon's spirit becoming depressed. He wasn't the usual cheerful boy and he was scared of meeting new people. Because of this, he refused to go to school until the day of the parental activity came.
"It'll be fun." Xia Meilin said, trying to convince Little Melon. "Mommy and daddy will be there with you."
Little Melon raised his head and looked at her, he didn't say anything, he was just looking at her.
"Oh baby..." She scooped him up and hugged him. She then turned to Lu Yifeng who was standing by the room's entrance. She looked at him as if she was asking for his help.
Lu Yifeng went towards them. "Are you scared of going out?" He directly asked Little Melon.
His son pursed his lips. He buried his face in the crook of his mother's neck.
"Give him to me." Lu Yifeng said.
Xia Meilin gently stroked Little Melon's head before she handed him to her husband.
Lu Yifeng went and sat on the side of the bed, he let Little Melon sit on his lap. "You have seen the real monsters of this world."
This time, Little Melon ended up looking at his father.
"Real monsters do not look like what you have seen in cartoons. The real monsters of this world are the men that you saw back then. They are monsters in human flesh. Did you saw how I defeated them without even laying a hand on them?"
Little Melon nodded, "Dada is strong..."
When they heard Little Melon speak, Xia Meilin and Lu Yifeng's face brightened up.
"Even if I am strong, I still got help from your uncle Sinian." He said honestly.
"Uncle Sinian was there?"
Lu Yifeng nodded. "He was the one who shoot those monsters down."
Little Melon pouted, "Then dada didn't defeat those monsters!"
He chuckled, "They're too weak for me. A cheetah doesn't need to race with the dogs just to prove that he's the fastest. It's like an insult to him if he did." His lips curled up, "Didn't you say that you want to be as strong as me?"
Little Melon nodded. "But... Mello isn't strong like dada..." He lowered his head.
"You're my son." He cupped his cheek and placed a soft kiss on his forehead. "If you want to become strong, you need to work hard for it. You shouldn't let your nightmares overcome you."
"But Mello's nightmares are scary, dada."
"Every nightmare is scary. Instead of running away from it, face them and that nightmare will disappear. Remember, in your dream, you can be anyone you want to be."
Little Melon's eyes sparkled. "Can Mello become like Spiderman?"
Lu Yifeng chuckled at what he said. "You want to be like Spiderman?"
Little Melon was about to say yes but he paused and shook his head instead. "Mello wants to be like dada. Dada can defeat ghosts and real monsters."
Lu Yifeng patted his head. "Then... if you ever have the same nightmare again and you think that you can't defeat them, then all you have to do is call me. We can defeat them together."
Little Melon's face brightened up with what his father said, "Dada will come?"
"Yes, I will. Have you forgotten? I also came that night."
Xia Meilin's eyes softened as she looked at him. If it comes in comforting someone, Lu Yifeng was really good with his words. His words will always reach a person's heart and melt them. How can he know what to say? Is he saying this base from his experiences?
She couldn't help but be curious on what kind of hardships Lu Yifeng went through to be this way.
When she saw that everything was going well with Little Melon, she took his backpack and said: "Shall we go? We'll be late for the camping if we won't leave now."
Little Melon jumped off from his father's lap and went to Xia Meilin. Seeing that the smile was back on Little Melon's face, Xia Meilin couldn't help but feel like crying. She missed seeing him smile like this. For the past few days, Little Melon became quiet, he even smiled rarely. He was always in his room, either reading a book or drawing, that's why she was relieved when she saw him smiling again.
Little Melon took his bag from her and wore it. He raised his head and grinned. "Let's go, momma!"
