Lu Yifeng stared at Xia Meilin's troubled face. Lin Yiyang is a relative of the people who twisted Xia Meilin's life, so who wouldn't hate him?
He held her hand which made Xia Meilin look at him.
"I'm here, don't worry." He gently said, giving her the reassurance that he won't let anything happen to her.
Xia Meilin was able to calm down because of the words that came from him. She turned to the maid. "Bring him in."
"Yes, madam." The maid bowed before she left them alone in the room.
"What should I do, Yifeng? He will definitely ask me to try and convince my brother about the business." She let out a sigh before she rested her head on his shoulder.
Lu Yifeng raised his hand and started stroking her hair. "What do you want to do?"
"If I agree with him, then this will become a trouble to my brother so I don't want that. If I don't, I am sure he will go and try to talk things out with my brother. Either way, it will still cause a problem to him since I know that my brother won't agree in giving the Lin corporation back to him. I want to do something to help him."
Back then, after Lu Yifeng destroyed the Xia family, Lu Yifeng was able to get their business by using Xia Meilin.
Lin Yiyang, in Lu Yifeng's previous life, tried to did the same, he tried to take back the Lin family business from Lu Yifeng.
Since Xia Meilin was already Lu Yifeng's wife at that time, he made her give the business to him. During that time, Xia Sinian was in hiding, the only person that the company can be passed to is none other than Xia Meilin.

He made her stand before he did so himself. "I need to make a call, wait for me before you go meet him, okay?"
She pursed her lips, "Okay."
Lu Yifeng turned and went to the balcony. He took his phone and started calling for someone.
Meanwhile, Xia Meilin sat on her chair as she waited for him. She couldn't hear who he was talking with since the balcony door was closed.
When the door opened, Little Melon peeked in. "Momma?"
Xia Meilin stood up and went to Little Melon, "Yes, honey?"
"Can momma make milk for Mello?" He asked in his cute voice, his eyes bigger than it was as if he was intentionally making them big and look adorable as a puppy's.
Xia Meilin knows that look, she can tell that Little Melon is up to something. She couldn't help but smile when she saw her son act this way. "Auntie Mo Jing can make your milk."
"Mello wants momma to make milk for Mello." Little Melon averted his eyes from her and started fumbling with his fingers as if he was being shy.
She raised a brow when she saw her son acting this way. Little Melon never gets shy toward others, including strangers. He is a cheerful and outgoing kid. He will never hesitate if he wants something.
"Okaaaay, this is not just about the milk, is it?"
"Can momma teach Mello how to bake cookies tonight?" Little Melon turned to face her with a small blush on his cheeks.
"You prefer cupcakes than cookies, right? What made you want cookies this time?" Though Xia Meilin already has an idea on why he wants to learn how to bake cookies, she still asked him.
"During the lunch break, Mello heard Xiao Yao telling Xu Yueming that she like cookies..." Little Melon lowered his head as he continued on playing with his fingers. "Mello wants to bake cookies for Xiao Yao so that we can be friends."
Xia Meilin scooped him up in her arms and lightly pecked his cheek. "Ah, my baby is growing up."
"Mello is no more baby." He pouted his lips as he stared at his mother.

"You will always be a baby in my eyes, sweetheart." She chuckled softly. "Come, let's go prepare your milk."

"I can give you time to think about it-"
"No, it's fine. I was already planning to hand it to you anyway." Xia Sinian cut him off. "I'll be leaving soon and I won't be able to take care of the company anymore. My sister trust you... so will I."
"Are you planning to tell her about your condition before you leave?" Lu Yifeng asked while staring at the garden maze that was below his balcony.
Xia Sinian became quiet, he was surprised that Lu Yifeng was able to know about his condition. "Did Li Bingbing tell you about this?"
"No. I have my ways. Since I am your brother-in-law, I need to monitor my wife's family. It is my duty to keep them safe for her." He lied. The reason why Lu Yifeng knows about his condition was because of his past life. Even though Xia Sinian went into hiding back then, Lu Yifeng was able to get information about his sickness when he tried looking for him.
During that time, Lu Yifeng considered Xia Sinian as an enemy that can steal Xia Meilin away from him but after knowing that he has terminal cancer, he stopped looking for him.
Xia Sinian's cancer was already at its late stage during the time Lu Yifeng found out about it. People who are diagnosed with late stage lung cancer has only a five-year survival rate. Lu Yifeng was able to find out that Xia Sinian has a year left.
He never expected that Xia Sinian will strike within that year. He was supposed to be bedridden and yet there he was, he killed Lu Yifeng himself.
Now that he thinks about it, Xia Sinian looked thinner and he was wearing a woolen beanie cap at that time. He looked so weak and yet he was surprised that he was still able to stab him a few time.
"Don't tell her about this. I want to tell her this myself." Xia Sinian said after being quiet for a while.
