Chapter 1297: Stone Slab
After data synchronisation, the game’s map expanded by more than three times. Other than a wider world, there were also more resources to level up, more dungeons to encounter and also, more enemies.
A game was something out of reality so continuous new things and versions were key to a game’s survival and were also what motivates players to keep playing the game.
Of course, to me, the author and you, the readers, the most important thing is for this book to painstakingly continue hundreds of chapters of storyline.
Other than data synchronisation, the game also officially opened five new special scenes, the Dragon Island, Titan City, Elves Godly Tree, Demon Burning Hell and City of Sky.
Wang Yu was no stranger to the first three places but as for the other two, he had no idea about them and there was no exact location given by the system either. It just included a line of fine words, “To be discovered by players.”
Another thing was that the game opened a player ranking for the entire server.
It was different from the old rankings. The old ones only included players in the region but this one was for the entire game. This meant that any player in the world could be ranked.
This was smart of the game company’s marketing tactic.
In the past, rankings were not taken seriously. Levelling up in > was so slow so there was no point of ranking within the region.
However, global rankings had a different meaning to it. After all, now that the world was quite homogenous, it was rare to have any players with an extreme way of thinking but against players of other countries, there was still competition present.
For example, Laos and Korea were disliked by Chinese players so if these two countries’ players ranked above them, they would be upset.
Although there were many Chinese players, online gaming started off later here as many people had a negative impression of gaming so competitive professional players only appeared in recent years. They also did not receive the same support athletes receive from the country, so on the global stage, China’s online gaming standard was not impressive. Ranking-wise, China was not the top even though it ranks in the top few.
Back when League of Legends was popular, conning Koreans was a huge topic…
However, for Wang Yu, these were not an issue. No matter how strong they were, when against Wang Yu, it was just a matter of a punch or two before they were dead.
Wang Yu was most surprised by that guy called Arrogant Sky as he could predict data synchronisation would happen. He was probably not an ordinary person. Could he even be a member of the game company?
Just as Wang Yu was puzzled, Mu Zixian finished cleaning up so Wang Yu shared his thoughts with her.
Mu Zixian laughed at his words, “Are you dumb! Their staff have signed confidential agreements. Every action and word they execute is legally consequential. Why would they post it online? This Arrogant Sky is still alive after predicting for so long so this means that there is nothing amiss about him.”
“Then how would he know that data synchronisation would happen?” Wang Yu questioned.
Mu Zixian thought about it and said, “Maybe he has an acute professional judgement, or it could be his instincts.”
“F*ck…”
Wang Yu could not really accept Mu Zixian’s explanation but this was not important so there was no point fretting over it.
Finally, the game’s refresh was completed and he also ate something so Wang Yu entered the game.
After entering the game, Wang Yu was still in the wilderness and it was as though nothing had changed.
This refresh was to include the rest of the world so without exploring, he would not find any difference.
Not long later, Quan Zhen Sect’s players also came online and their group chat was happening again.
The happiest was, of course, Ming Du.
“F*ck, I am ranked 128th in the world!” Ming Du sent a screenshot of the rankings into the chat and could not confine his excitement.
In the past, ranking 128th would not make a person like Ming Du so excited but now, the ranking was worldwide.
There were nearly 300 million players in > worldwide. To be ranked around the hundredth amongst them was a very impressive thing.
However, most players were around level 52 while Quan Zhen Sect’s players were around level 55. With such a level difference and yet, still not within the top one hundred, it showed that levelling up experts were present around the world.
“How about you guys? How about you guys?”
After showing off, seeing that everyone else did not respond, Ming Du asked anxiously.
“F*ck! Go away!” Obviously, their rankings might not be bad but were not better than Ming Du’s.
He was a Magician after all… With such high damage, if Wang Yu did not do so many S-grade quests alone, he might not be able to defeat Ming Du.
“Haha! Weaklings!” Seeing everyone react this way, Ming Du proudly mocked them.
Vainglory angrily tagged Wang Yu, “Uncle Bull, *sshole Lee can’t be tamed! @Iron Bull!”
“Hehe!” Wang Yu simply replied with a word.
Ming Du opened the rankings and looked up. When he saw Wang Yu’s name, he obediently quietened.
Wang Yu at level 60 topped the ranking, above everyone else.
The player ranked second was only level 58. After level 50, levelling up speed slowed profusely. This difference of two levels was worth at least a month of hard work.
“Brother Bull, what are you doing now?” Ming Du asked carefully.
Wang Yu factually stated, “Levelling up… Very bored.”
“Tsk, tsk…” Ming Du sighed. Wang Yu was so strong and yet, still worked so hard. He obviously was not giving everyone else an excuse to slack off.
“I’m bored too. Brother Bull, where are you? Let me keep you company.”
Ming Du really took any advantage he could. He knew Wang Yu’s levelling up efficiency and yet, he still wanted to tag along.
However, as a Magician with extremely high damage, Ming Du did not want to tag along only because of the XP. After all, he was pretty quick at killing monsters too.
“Sure, come along. I am at the peak of the mountains. My coordinates are xxxx.xxxx.” Killing monsters was nothing interesting and Wang Yu was bored, so he was more than happy to have someone to do it with him so he quickly sent over his coordinates.
“Bye bye! See you!”
Upon seeing Wang Yu’s coordinates, Ming Du chose to bid him goodbye.
Damn, the peak of the mountains was a level 80 practice area filled with wild monsters in the snowy mountain with extremely high magic skills… Whether or not a level 55 Magician could deal with these monsters was not the issue. The issue was how to get there. Indeed, weirdos never followed logic.
“Ai…”
Wang Yu shook his head helplessly then killed a small monster in front of him with a punch. Just then, an odd stone slab appeared.
Wang Yu picked up and saw some lines and bends scribbled on it like a map. The stone slab’s attributes then appeared before his eyes.
