Chapter 354: Ghosts
That afternoon’s military training was the most hair-raising and terrifying thing Tang Ningbao had ever gone through in her life. The others followed the instructor’s orders and got into formation. Before the group could leave, they heard Tang Ningbao’s repeated screams of fear, which pierced the eardrums of the men and women standing in front and behind her.
Tang Ningbao was really scared sh*tless. Even though it was broad daylight, her face was deathly pale and her eyes had rolled as far back as they could go. She had long forgotten about the military training, and her voice trembled as she choked out “Ghost! There really is a ghost! There really is a ghost! There’s a ghost!” Seeing that the others didn’t believe her, she even tugged at someone and said in a trembling voice, “There’s a ghost, I saw a ghost, there really is a ghost! It’s too scary! Too scary!”
Tang Ningbao was too agitated and she even ignored the rules and ran away. The instructor quickly grabbed her and alerted a few teachers, who came to check on her. They directly called her to the office for a lecture.
Chi Shuyan’s lips curled up slightly and her mood improved a lot.
Because of Tang Ningbao, the director even personally called Counselor Zhang over to his office and said, “Counselor Zhang, take a look at this student of yours. Her head is full of feudal superstitions. She was undergoing the military training in the middle of the day and even affected the others. She’s going around saying that she saw a ghost. I want to ask her properly, where did she see a ghost?”
At first, Counselor Zhang thought that it was Chi Shuyan who had been pulled out for spreading superstitious beliefs. Who would have thought that when he came to the director’s office, the person he would see was none other than Tang Ningbao?
Counselor Zhang was stupefied. He didn’t forget that it was this girl who had reported Chi Shuyan for promoting feudal superstitions. She even swore that she only believed in science and was reporting Chi Shuyan because she was afraid that Chi Shuyan had been led astray.
Who would have thought that before the day was over, this girl, who had sworn that she believed in science, would suddenly proclaim superstitious beliefs and keep saying that she had seen a ghost?
Counselor Zhang’s head hurt when he saw the girl, who was so scared that she trembled as she rushed over to really yell about ghosts.
Tang Ningbao was afraid that Counselor Zhang wouldn’t believe her, so she pulled at his sleeve with a pale face and cried with snot and tears, “Coun… Counselor Zhang, I… I really saw a ghost. It’s too scary, too scary!”
As Tang Ningbao said this, she looked around frantically, only to see the ghost thing sitting quietly in front of the director’s table and grinning at her.
Tang Ningbao gave a blood-curdling scream and yelled wildly at Counselor Zhang, “Counselor Zhang, Counselor Zhang, I saw it, I saw it again. It’s at the director’s table. There’s a ghost! There’s really a ghost!”
Tang Ningbao tried to run away again, but was quickly stopped by Counselor Zhang. On the side, Director Huang was so angry that his face turned grey. This little girl was proclaiming superstitions openly in his office, and was deliberately scaring them to get their attention. She was too undisciplined! Too undisciplined!
Director Huang wasn’t as easy to talk to as Counselor Zhang. He immediately said that he would remember this. If Tang Ningbao did this again, she would be expelled!
Counselor Zhang hurriedly said, “Director Huang, this is a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. This girl is young and has probably been fooled by some unscrupulous character. I’ll have this Student Tang apologize right now.”
After saying that, Counselor Zhang quickly motioned for Tang Ningbao to apologize, but at that moment, Tang Ningbao’s attention was completely focused on that scary ghost thing, and she didn’t hear what Director Huang and Counselor Zhang were saying at all. Seeing the ghost thing actually directly stuff a hand into its stomach and pull out a bunch of intestines to chew on, Tang Ningbao was so scared that she spat out the word “ghost,” and her eyes rolled back before she fainted.
