Wu Wenyun shrieked in fury when the basin of water was poured on her, along with all the other female students, who were soaked through. Fortunately, a few of the students watching the show were quick to dodge and were only splashed a bit. Seeing Wu Wenyun looking like a dog that fell into water several times, they were all glad they had ducked quickly.
“What do you mean by this?” Wu Wenyun questioned incredulously.
“I’m just kidding with you guys. What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?” Chi Shuyan clapped her hands, her bright eyes brimming with sarcasm. Her response directly choked Wu Wenyun and several others, rendering them speechless and could only stare at Chi Shuyan viciously. Unfortunately, Chi Shuyan wasn’t scared of them and stared back instead.
“Xiao Lerong, Wu Wenyun, Lin Chenchen, and a few of your female classmates, follow me to the office right now.” The English teacher was covered in sticky water and didn’t want to teach the class, so he directly ordered sternly and turned away.
Before leaving, Xiao Lerong and Wu Wenyun secretly looked back viciously at Chi Shuyan as if trying to rip her apart. They wordlessly mouthed something like “wait until after school”.
Chi Shuyan sat in her seat with her backpack as if nothing had happened, unmoved by the quizzical scrutiny of the rest of the class, or rather, not even the slightest bit interested. Although these students didn’t shoot in her previous life, their cutting remarks and schadenfreude attitude tormented Chi Shuyan.
“Shuyan, you’re fine. That’s great. I’ve been worried about you.” Feng Yanli purposely came over to speak to Chi Shuyan, her dark face was all deeply concerned.
“Really?” Chi Shuyan curled her lips and said with an indifferent smile. She thought that when she met Feng Yanli, she’d be uncontrollably worked up and wrathful, wanting to kill her, but she didn’t expect to be unprecedentedly calm.
“Yeah, yeah, Shuyan, my mom has locked me up at home these past few days because of that incident and even took my phone.” Feng Yanli looked extremely guilty. “So I’ve only been able to hear news of you through some classmates. Schoolwork is tight again and I’ve been feeling like my head is going to explode, but now that I see you intact, I can finally relax.”
“So that’s how it is. Yanli, I’ve fallen behind on a lot of homework. Can you lend me your notes?” Chi Shuyan asked smilingly.
“Huh? But I also need to use them later because the college entrance exam is so close; and I remember they’re very messy. I’m afraid you won’t be able to understand them.” Feng Yanli refused euphemistically, “Why don’t you borrow from other students?”
Listening to Feng Yanli’s words, Chi Shuyan suddenly bent her lips and smiled, gazing unfathomably at Feng Yanli. This person was really funny. In the whole class besides the class monitor, the clearest and most detailed notes were none other than Feng Yanli’s. Unlike Chi Shuyan’s lower to mid-level grades, Feng Yanli’s academic performance was pretty good.
Feng Yanli paid lip service to caring for her, but it was clear that her words and deeds didn’t match up. She was obviously unwilling to lend her notes. She also had to rub salt in Chi Shuyan’s wounds. Knowing full well that she was introverted and didn’t get along well with her classmates, she definitely won’t borrow books from those classmates. Most importantly, if Feng Yanli really cared about her a little bit, she should have borrowed books for her, knowing her difficulties.
However, she didn’t do anything. In her previous life, when Chi Shuyan knew that Feng Yanli fell sick, she painstakingly copied her notes on every subject for Feng Yanli. The result – Feng Yanli spurned Chi Shuyan’s ugly handwriting and lost it, then specifically borrowed the class monitor’s notes and reproduced them at the photocopy center.
Chi Shuyan kept staring at Feng Yanli until her guilty conscience couldn’t stand it anymore and found an excuse to run away. She just didn’t want to lend her notes to Chi Shuyan. Why should she give something she’d worked so hard to put together to someone else? Feng Yanli pursed her lips. Today’s Chi Shuyan was so wrong, but she didn’t think much of it. She only thought that Chi Shuyan was acting weird because she still blamed her a bit for the incident last time.
Chi Shuyan packed her schoolbag and headed outside, until she saw a group of girls at the corner of the stairs. Five of them were the classmates who teased Chi Shuyan in the morning. The other six had brightly dyed hair and tattooed arms, wearing punk outfits and heavy smokey eye makeup. They were chewing gums while fiddling with knives and squinting at Chi Shuyan.
“All right, classmate, have you lost your mind? How dare you bully my sisters?” The leader, who looked like the Big Sister, stepped forward and pushed Chi Shuyan, chewing gum and laughing odiously. Chi Shuyan retreated a few steps without resisting.
Xiao Lerong thought that Chi Shuyan was scared, so she raised her palm arrogantly to slap her.
“Wait, there’s surveillance everywhere. Let’s change places and beat her all you want.” Wu Wenyun looked at Chi Shuyan somberly and said, pulling Xiao Lerong to a stop. Apparently, the morning’s events had made her a little wary.
By this time, students were almost gone and only a few people lingered in the corridor. They took one look at the menacing group of delinquent girls with knives, and walked away silently as if they hadn’t seen anything.
Until this group dragged Chi Shuyan forcibly to the restroom.
Two girls, who were much stronger than Chi Shuyan, dragged her hand behind her back in a death grip.
The Big Sister toyed with the knife in her hand and the shiny blade reflected on Chi Shuyan’s eyes. She slowly approached her and said, “Chi-what-Yan, you really have a lot of nerve. Who are you to dare touch my sisters? Today, Older Sister will teach you how to behave properly.”
Seeing that Chi Shuyan was silent, she frowned and with a huff, brandished her knife on her face.
“Sister Hui, get out of the way first.” Wu Wenyun came over with a large basin of dirty water and shouted towards Zhang Yuhui.
“Ugh? What kind of water did you get? Why is it so stinky? Xiao Lerong pinched her nose, took a quick glance and saw that the basin of water was yellow, black and awfully turbid. “You scraped shit in? Eww, that’s gross.” She immediately jumped away.
The other girls also covered their noses and made way for a large open area while complaining, “It f*cking stinks, it stinks! What are you doing, Wu Wenyun?”
Wu Wenyun was wearing a mask as she herself was disgusted. This basin of water was a mixture of feces and urine, scraped dirt and menstrual blood from the toilet bowl and toilet papers, and sewage from the toilet mop. Her eyes were as cold and vicious as a viper’s, and took a stance to splash it.
“Hey, wait, wait.” Once the two sturdy girls, who were gripping Chi Shuyan’s arms, heard that the basin was these disgusting things, they panicked and hurriedly jumped to the side when they saw that Wu Wenyun was about to splash them.
Chi Shuyan nimbly dodged too, and the large basin of spiked stuff was all splashed to an empty spot.
“F*ck your mom, Wu Wenyun, what a splash!” The two girls who were grappling with her moments ago, swore at her like troopers.
“Curse as you like, you two catch her quickly!” Wu Wenyun’s face flushed red, seeing that she had splashed into the air. Chi Shuyan even dared to hide. She cursed furiously, “You wasted my efforts. Forget it, forget it, just push her head directly on that compartment.”
