Chapter 113: Broke Down In A Flash
The father and daughter waited for her. After quite a while, Kang Weizhen came out, but the smile on her face disappeared. Her eyes were red as if she had just had a breakdown.
Sheng You had never seen her look so sad, so he immediately grabbed her sleeve. “Who bullied you?”
Although he didn’t think anyone would dare to bully Weizhen, her sad expression eroded all his sanity.
Sheng Yang frowned when she saw her mom like this.
Kang Weizhen refused to say anything, but Sheng You insisted on getting to the bottom of it. He went to check the surveillance video only to see that a few rich ladies and their children came out of the restroom earlier than Kang Weizhen, but all of them looked a mess. Their faces were bruised and they seemed to have been beaten by someone.
Sheng You was confused but there was no camera in the bathroom, so he couldn’t find out what exactly happened.

When they got home, their two sons came downstairs with a big smile. “Mom, Dad, how was Yangyang’s school celebration today?”
Seeing his always confident and vigorous mother so haggard, Sheng Hanjing’s eyes narrowed. He hurried downstairs and asked her with concern, “What happened, Mom?”
Kang Weizhen refused to tell him the reason but it seemed that she had calmed down. “I’m fine. I just need a short rest.”
No one believed her, but Kang Weizhen refused to say anything. What could they do with her?
Soon after, Sheng Yang went upstairs to study.
Seeing Sheng Yang’s figure disappearing completely at the end of the stairs, Kang Weizhen said hoarsely, “My Yangyang has been wronged.”
Her voice was completely hoarse.
“What’s the matter?” Sheng You clasped her shoulders.
Sheng Hanjing had a vague guess, pursing his lips.
“They… They actually said my Yangyang is your illegitimate daughter. How dare they?! After all these years, my Yangyang finally came back to me. She’s already suffered a lot of injustice and a lot of grievances. Why are these people still so mean to her?” Kang Weizhen choked and told them what happened in staccato. No one interrupted her as they listened in silence. “Why… why didn’t Yangyang even mention this? I’m not a good mother.”
Sheng Hanjing couldn’t help but clench his fists, but he tried to comfort his mother. “Yangyang is very broad-minded, so she wouldn’t care about these things at all.”
Kang Weizhen clutched her chest. “But I care! I can’t just pretend I didn’t hear anything! She’s already suffered so much, so why does she still have to suffer this?”
Sheng You pursed his lips tightly silently then suddenly looked at his beloved wife. “Which companies did those people who hit you today come from?”
“Fuli, Siyang, and Beile.” Kang Weizhen had always had a good memory.
“I see.”
Sheng Yuxi seemed to suddenly age several years old at once. “I’ll use my connections at school to find out who slandered Sister! I will never let them off!”
Kang Weizhen rubbed her eyes. “Although your father and I announced that Yangyang is our long-lost daughter, many people didn’t believe it. We planned to hold a banquet to tell everyone about this, but we worried that Yangyang might have not adapted to her new life. If she was exposed to the spotlight, everything about her private life would be dug out and magnified, which she might not have been able to bear, so we gave up the plan. But we didn’t expect that someone would take advantage of this and slander her so despicably!”
