The Ultimate Evolution Chapter 676 - 699

Chapter 676: The first disease……

Caught off guard and having his head cruelly pressed into a water jar, Boss He miserably choked on the water and violently struggled.
Yet though he wrestled violently, he could only feel that Sheyan’s hand was like a steel hoop; mercilessly cuffing his neck down, and thoroughly suppressing all his movements.
Only when his complexion turned purple and his eyes were about to roll back, did Sheyan pull his head up.
This time, Boss He no longer dared to curse aloud but started to pant greedily for air. As fresh air flooded his lungs, he felt as if nothing in this world was more precious than air. Never did he expect, after merely taking half a breath, Sheyan once again cruelly pressed his head into the water jar……
This torture went on for five times. By now, Boss He was slumping limpidly on the ground, with tears and mucus flowing as his body shivered intensely. That terrifying steel grip had sorely left an inextinguishable imprint onto his heart!
At present, Boss He deeply believed that if he should once again infuriate this demon, he would definitely be reduced to a drowned chicken, and perish inside a water jar.
As the saying goes, tyrants are the most fearful of death. With ghastly pale complexion, Boss He no longer uttered a single word, and a foul stench continued pervading out from beneath his pants. Letting others witness this scene would be sufficient to cause him to lose all his face.
As Sheyan stared down at him, his incisive gaze seemed to be constantly slicing and undersizing Boss He. Finally, he icily pronounced.
“Tonight, Di Gu must deliver a meal of stewed meat. Otherwise, hand over 3,000 dollars, understood? Also, Di Gu isn’t your wife nor your maid. If I ever hear you disrespecting her, I shall see that we have a nice chat!”
Boss He’s purplish lips trembled as he incessantly nodded. Sheyan then reached over and patted his shoulders with a slight smirk, before sauntering away.
At present, he was too lazy to trash talk with this fool, because after disposing of this Boss He, his nightmare imprint had already notified him.

A shady internet cafe. Without a doubt, the environment here was exceedingly filthy. The air polluted by stinky feets and a stench of garlic. Ferocious pitter-patter smashing sounds of keyboards, fuming curses and loud yellings for the cafe assistant to deliver snacks filled the air. This was a place comparable to a bustling wet market.
Under the state of constant shoutings, any form of normal interaction was seemingly impossible.
At an unremarkable spot of this internet cafe, Sheyan calmly nodded to himself before standing up and releasing a long sigh.
The computer screen before him displayed a web page. Found on that page, were figures that could even shudder Sheyan’s heart.
「 According to statistics from the World Health Organization, an adult estimatedly contracts flu 3-4 times a year, while a child may contract up to 6 times. 36% of adult medical leave, and 67% of children medical leave is caused by flu. Every year, flu is approximately contracted 20 billion times (individuals may contract more times or lesser than usual) 」
「 No preventions: Due to the vast variations and strains of the flu virus, a specific full-proof immunity has yet to be consolidated. At present, there is no specific right cure for treatment 」
「 According to statistics from the World Health Organization, yearly number of flu deaths is 250,000 – 500,000. In comparison, there are about 180,000 deaths related to travel 」
(TL: Note that the author’s statistics are outdated or he got them from completely weird and wrong places, as this novel was written many years ago. He writes flu deaths as 600,000 but according to WHO website it is 250,000 – 500,000)
Actually, people wouldn’t be intimidated by the mere mention of influenza. The reason it is treated like a small illness is due to the low rate of fatality at roughly 2.12%. As such, out of 100 who contracts any form of influenza, about two would possibly die. In comparison, about 55,000 people die from rabies, which is vastly inferior to yearly flu death rate. However, once rabies virus flares up, the chances of death would be close to a hundred.
「 Influenza strains are separated into type A, B or C. The Influenza A contains different antigens, and sub viruses of it has mutated many times, leading to worldwide outbreaks. For example, the 1918 – 1920 flu pandemic that killed at least 50 – 100 million worldwide. 」
These statistics, as compared to tuberculosis or airborne allergies, occupied a whole different scale and dominance!
Thus, Sheyan made his resolution and speedily accessed his nightmare imprint, before selecting the ‘Influenza’ path. Following that, he only needed to fork up 2 achievement points. Fortunately, his virus system of the ‘Stairway of the Sun’ allowed him save an additional achievement point.
With matchless heartache, he paid the fee of one achievement point. Then, a list was exhibited before his eyes which left him dazzled.
[ Note: A-Virus virus devouring, duplication and optimization process activated ]
[ Note: Activating the A-Virus system requires absorbing enormous vitality force from the host. Host’s current vitality can only support for 41 hours 16 minutes 5 seconds before health is affected. You must perfectly obtain the nucleus code during this plaguing phase of the virus strain. Otherwise, the A-Virus system of devouring, duplicating and optimizing can only be activated seven days later ]
“Ah, shit!” Sheyan couldn’t help but curse. Never did he expect the timer to begin right on the spot!
Bear this in mind, for Sheyan to be infected with a disease, he had to first activate his ‘Babu-Babusar’ ability and consecutively reduce himself to an ordinary human state! Only then, can he contract a virus! Yet when that happens, even Boss He, whom he had beaten up like a dog, could effortlessly claim his life!
Moreover, Sheyan wasn’t a kind and loving individual in this world. Don’t mention others, the pack of vietnamese gangsters could possibly find trouble for him.
Nevertheless, another crucial problem remained. The disease virus wouldn’t proactively search for Sheyan, he still had to devise means to contract the virus!
Apart from that, during the progress of virus infection, how severe would his condition be? What would be the extent of damage to his body? If Sheyan wasn’t admitted into a hospital for treatment, would his life face imminent danger?
Sheyan had to consider all these different aspects. Besides, this was a matter of life and death, and he absolutely couldn’t afford to be reckless.
At this moment, Sheyan faintly envied Reef. No doubt, Influence and wealth in the real world played a pivotal role as well.
Nevertheless, what was done, was done. The crux of the matter would be to quick learn this ‘Influenza’ virus ability, and not waste precious time. Hence, Sheyan immediately made an emergency call to Mogensha.
After assisting Sheyan in wrecking the vietnamese gang, Brother Black had been touring China’s sceneries. Next, he visited Taiwan as well to sightsee, before preparing to take a flight home. When Sheyan made an emergency phone call to him, he could hear the sonorous rumbles of aircrafts taking off and descending, and reckoned Mogensha was currently going through the procedures before boarding a plane.
Since his boss summoned him, Mogensha was naturally duty bound. With his swiftest pace, he rushed back with his two assistants at once, the same assistants who killed without blinking.
Approximately four hours later, Mogensha arrived. Naturally, Sheyan was finally about to relax. With Brother Black around, the amount of viets or Boss He who dared to surface, would be the amount of death count. Sheyan no longer needed to worry over a pathetic outcome of being squished to death like a grape by an ordinary mortal.
While concurrently waiting for Brother Black, Sheyan also researched on the influenza virus, and acquired several information on feasible methods to catch an infection. If one method fails, he would swap to the next. All in all, they all involved different forms of torturing himself.
For such a common virus like the flu bug, it should be hovering around perpetually everywhere. To enhance his chances of successfully contracting the virus, Sheyan decided that a hospital would be an optimal location. That’s right, indeed it chose the same hospital where Uncle Dasi visited to change his dressing previously.
9 in the morning. During the busiest period of the hospital’s outpatient service, the emergency ward was overcrowding with individuals. Seats were filled with feverish patients on IV drips who most likely, and likely, most of them were down with flu.
Sheyan’s head was drenched in cold water, as were his clammy soaked inner clothes. Five seconds later upon activating his ‘Babu-Babusar’ ability, he plunged into ordinary human state.
A foreign yet familiar sensation momentarily struck Sheyan.
Cold, frail and weak…..such sensations were seemingly amplified by a magnifying glass, and distinctly feedbacked into his mind! Then, a fear started budding in Sheyan’s heart….
Indeed, after being bestowed with invincible strength by the nightmare realm, Sheyan was strongly unaccustomed to being a regular human once again. With a temporarily dip in formidability and strength, he involuntarily felt an irrepressible dread and panic.Chapter 677: Impregnable Stronghold

“Damn, it’s cold.” Sheyan shivered uncontrollably. His drenched hair and clammy underclothes were rapidly sucking away his bodily heat.
As the most common airborne virus, the flu bacteria travels out from channels like the mouth and nose of patients, before proliferating into the surrounding air. Finally, Sheyan would inhale the bacteria into his lungs.
However, whether the flu bug could breakthrough his immunity, thereby smoothly propagating throughout his body and stirring up havoc within, was up to personal luck.
Meanwhile, Brother Black was guarding Sheyan from afar, while his two capable assistants had occupied vantage points, and vigilantly surveying for any possible threat.
Time swiftly trickled away. Sheyan sat absent-mindedly on a stool. On his left, a row of feverish patients queuing up for the consulting room. To his right, several drowsy patients on IV drips were seated, weak and not sharing a single word with each other.
Sheyan desperately wished to fall sick, thus he repeatedly inhaled deeply, as though this would help him suck in more bacteria virus.
After sitting for quite some time, Sheyan begun feeling rather exhausted. A slight fuzziness started creeping into his senses and his body. At this moment, he immediately recalled; if adding the time spent during the dangerous expedition in the Resident Evil world (real world timing), it had been nearly 40 hours of being awake.
With his digitized enhanced body, the exhaustion wasn’t vivid. But now as an ordinary human and with a relaxed state of mind, he could no longer resist the urge to sleep….
Achoo!!
Such a tremendous sneeze immediately startled Sheyan out of his deep slumbering dream world. Upon waking up, he felt a top-heavy sensation throughout his body, and nostrils emitting scalding breath. With each faint movement, a throbbing ache feedbacked into his mind. Breathing became difficult and was coupled with a wheezing sound in his nasal cavity.
“Finally caught a cold…..”
That phrase floated up in Sheyan’s sea of consciousness. Following closely, was a notification transmitted by his nightmare imprint.
[ A-Virus has detected a flu virus infiltrated the host body ]
[ A-Virus system of devouring, duplicating and optimizing is already activated ]
[ For A-Virus to devour, duplicate and optimize virus in accordance to contestant’s evolution, during this process, the flu virus will be enhanced greatly; resulting in fiercer and additionally severe symptoms ]
[ A-Virus has started catalyzing the nucleus code of the flu virus. In an expected 20 minutes, virus symptoms will reach its peak. That will be the most critical phase and the most life threatening to the host. Duration of virus flare phase: 420 minutes….. ]
[ Experiencing data conflict and disorder…..recalculating ]
[ Innate ability ‘Stronghold’ is effective. Duration of negative effects weakened by 25% ]
[ Duration of virus flare phase decreased to 315 minutes. Your life will still be in critical danger during this phase, please make the appropriate emergency measures! ]
“My innate ‘Stronghold’ can take effect even in this state???” Although Sheyan was experiencing a splitting headache, he still managed to capture this good news with great elation!
One must understand, the current Sheyan had been completely reduced to the state prior to joining the realm! Moreover, this effect took the highest form of precedence – Domain Authority Precedence! Even such a formidable and perverse rank S ‘Pestilence Monarch’ ability couldn’t negate the resistance of Sheyan’s ‘Stronghold’! How unbeatably impregnable it was!!!
That undoubtedly was like a tranquilizer boost to Sheyan. 25% was absolutely a substantial speed upgrade to Sheyan’s rate of learning virus abilities. As the saying goes, the final mile is harder than 99 miles of the journey. Many a time, individuals falter right at the very last moments, equivalent to the final 25% duration of the virus flare phase!
Previously, considering that Brother Black and his lackeys may encounter local communication issues, Sheyan also brought Sanzi along with him; informing Sanzi that he felt unwell and wanted to go for a medical checkup.
By now, Sheyan’s headache had deteriorated acutely, while his throat became inflamed with sharp pain. His nose transformed into a clogged swamp.
Having felt the initial symptoms of flu, Sheyan hastily called Sanzi over and instructed him to contact the doctor, concurrently stashing a pouch of money into Sanzi’s hand to open the way ahead.
With money paving the way, the doctors portrayed immaculate professionalism, ethics and terrific service to Sheyan; admitting him into an emergency ward at once. Nevertheless, as mentioned above, there weren’t specific instant cure for flu viruses. All the doctors could do were to alleviate the symptoms, assisting one’s bodily immune to exterminate the virus itself.
Citing the Gulf war as an analogy, the virus is equivalent to the United States, and the human body, Iraq. Now, if China played the role as the doctors, China definitely couldn’t do anything to the United States, and truthfully couldn’t destroy them. Moreover, it would be impossible to go into head on conflict against them within a short time as well.
Nevertheless, China could assist Iraq in sending ammunitions, international vocal support, donations, medical supplies, or selling goods at a cheaper rate to Iraq. These would help lessen the pressure on Iraq, allowing them to focus on dealing with the United States; thereby concentrating military forces to exterminate the invading american forces and achieve victory.
Even though Sheyan was credited with excellent medical facilities and treatment, the optimizing and duplicating process of the virus still inflicted him with grievous troubles and anguish. Honestly speaking, Sheyan felt his mental fortitude similarly rising as his strength increased in the realm. Yet now that all his strength had been depleted till his primitive state, his soul weakening to its feeblest state as well!
With the ailment terrorizing him during his feeblest state, most patients would crumble both physically and mentally; every second felt additionally and excruciatingly long.
In spite of that, Sheyan held a tremendous superiority in his heart. Indeed, it was due to his innate ability – ‘Stronghold’ !
A sense of superiority born from knowing it could even suppress 25% of the virus’ plaguing duration! This was akin to walking in the darkness and seeing a dawn of light ahead. Of course, he would be invigorated with additional courage and willpower!
Approximately 5-6 hours later, Sheyan’s condition started attracting serious attention within the hospital. They felt that Sheyan’s symptoms was truly dreadfully grave. Even after loading him with the best medicines, his condition unexpectedly turned for the worst instead of becoming better.
However, this ailment was frankly extremely basic, it was just a flu! A flu that could increasingly torment a 20 plus year old lad, who theoretically should be at the peak of his immunity, instantly attracted their serious attention. Besides, cases like the bird flu and SARs had long been deeply lodged within their hearts. If they didn’t report it to superiors at once, who would shoulder the burden of responsibility should an outbreak happen in this district?!
Yet while the doctors were urgently reporting to superiors and defending themselves, a young nurse hastily raced over and offered them an utmost astonishing news.
“That patient, suspected to have contracted the bird flu, has left.”
“He wants to leave then let him, inform security if he hasn’t paid……WHAT!!?! HE LEFT?”
“Yes……yes he did…”
“Where did he go? Transferred to another hospital?”
“No, he directly stood up, ripped off his IV drip and breathing assistant, and departed.”
“Impossible!! His pulse rate had soared to 170! That’s double that of an ordinary human! His breathing was 100 times a minute, an ordinary person is merely 70 times! His blood pressure has overshot indicators crazily as well. Don’t talk about walking, even crawling on the floor would be difficult!”
“But….but he truly sat up and left! Moreover, large black men left beside him, I couldn’t even hope to stall him.”
“…today isn’t April’s fool, I’m not in the mood to joke with you.”
“Supervisor, I too am not in a mood to joke, if you don’t believe me, go see for yourself!”
By now, Sheyan was already riding a rental car. He released a long sigh as he enjoyed the comfort of his healthy body.
The notification from his nightmare imprint was distinctly floating before his eyes.
[ A-Virus duplication has succeeded! ]
[ You successfully stimulated a branch ability: Flu lvl 1! ]
[ Branch ability: Flu lvl 1 – Upon activating this ability, enemies within a 50 metres (strengthened by the relevant ‘Pestilence Monarch’ ability, ‘Disseminate’) will be contaminated with the Flu virus. Outbreak period of 10 minutes (takes 10 minutes for virus to take effect) ]
[ Effect: Within intervals of 10 seconds, there is a 5% chance of sneezing (disrupts ordinary attack/ability casting movement), shiver (movement speed drop by 50% for 3 seconds) and headache (amplifies MP consumption in casting abilities) ]
[ You can choose to activate or seal off this branch ability at anytime. Requires 2 potential points and 1,000 utility points to activate/seal ability ]
[ This branch ability can coexist with certain other virus types ]
[ Please quickly invest more achievement points to evolve this branch ability, which will subsequently unlock higher tiers in the innate skill tree! ]
At present, Sheyan still possessed an excess of 8 achievement points. When he attempted to upgrade his ‘Flu lvl 1’, he realized each upgrade required a fee of 2 achievement points. Fortunately, his virus system from the ‘Stairway of the Sun’ allowed him to save on 1 achievement point. Hence, it wasn’t that bad of a heartache for him. Nevertheless, a hefty fee of utility points was also demandedChapter 678: The second disease

After spending three achievement points, Sheyan successfully upgraded his ‘Flu’ ability to lvl 4. Even so, the probability of inflicting sneeze, shivers, and headaches only grew to 11%, where each level merely upgraded 2%.
Still, a Rank S ability with 9 tiers undoubtedly couldn’t be discounted. When the ability ascended to level 4, a bonus property option was awarded.
[ A: Intervals of triggering ‘Flu’ negative effects lowered from 10 to 7 seconds ]
[ B: Increase ‘Flu’ contamination radius by 20 metres ]
[ C: Decreases ‘Flu’ outbreak timing by 3 minutes ]
[ D: Increase probability of sneezing, shivers and headaches by 3% ]
Sheyan then opted for option ‘C’, thereby lowering the outbreak duration to 7 minutes. Sheyan was extremely satisfied with this, and when the ‘Flu’ ability was upgraded to level 4, the branching skill changed to the term ‘Influenza’.
Following that, the nightmare imprint transmitted another notification.
[ You fulfill the qualifications to unlock the next tier of the innate skill tree. You can choose to continue upgrading your branch ability ‘Influenza lvl 4’, or initiate a new branch of ability ]
At present, Sheyan involuntarily reminisced about his experience in the Kijuju Marshland. Those Ndipaya barbarians didn’t possess outstanding offensive capabilities, yet with the assistance of various viruses, Reef and him were forced into a vilely unbearable state.
Right now, he cared more for broadening his range of virus infections. Thus, he selected to initiate a new branch.
[ Scanning host environment…gathering sample data… ]
[ Information gathering completed….analysis success….. ]
[ Note: Host can choose to be infected from this list of airborne viruses, and learn an advanced strain of the influenza virus ]
[ A: Bronchitis ]
[ B: Laryngitis ]
[ C: Rhinitis ]
[ Detail: Your choice of disease will influence the consecutive growth of the innate skill tree ]
[ Your choice of disease characteristics, its infectious rate and treatment difficulty will map the eventual virus ability effects, after the A-virus has duplicated and optimized it. Please select carefully! ]
[ This selection has no time limit. Please consider carefully before making a decision ]
After researching on some information, Sheyan roughly understood the specifics of the diseases. As such, he could roughly speculate the follow-up direction of the three branches ]
“For option A, the ultimate evolved ability should be the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARs)”
“For option B, most likely it will evolve towards the path of tonsillitis and then myocarditis and so on. For option C, it’ll probably advance to otitis media, and ultimately evolve to coxsackie virus leading to meningitis.”
Seizing that Brother Black was still present, and that the devouring, duplicating and optimizing mode of the A-Virus would still be active for close to 24 hours, Sheyan led the gang towards another hospital. He planned to advance the influenza branch while the iron was still hot. Although Sheyan couldn’t tell if he would succeed, it was still worth a try.
During the ride to the next hospital, Sheyan didn’t contemplate much but decided on option A – Bronchitis.
This time, he didn’t check up detailedly on web statistics or inquire of others. His reason for selection ‘Bronchitis’ was because while sailing in the past, Sheyan resided with an old sailor named Ha Lindun. The poor aged old Ha Lindun contracted chronic Bronchitis, and the sounds of his heart shredding violent coughs lingered in Sheyan’s ears for two full years. On the third year, he passed away.
Initially, Sheyan developed insomnia due to the disturbance of the coughing sounds. Yet in the end, he developed a psychological reflex whereby he couldn’t sleep unless he listened to the sounds of heavy coughing. This was all thanks to chronic bronchitis.
Therefore, it was understood that this particular ailment occupied a significant position in Sheyan’s heart. The trauma of two full years was certainly monumental. Thus, even after transforming into a powerful contestant now, Sheyan still selected ‘Bronchitis’ without hesitation.
Regrettably, Sheyan was defeated this time. His robust health successfully resisted the various viruses from invading….all the way till the precious 24 hours of the activated A-Virus whittled away, where Sheyan remained lively like a dragon and fierce as a tiger.
Thus, he could only wait for 7 days in vain in the real world, allowing the A-virus to finally reactivate its vitality drawing capability, before proceeding to take the trial of virus.
Of course, Mogensha didn’t leave during this period. Fortunately, nothing much happened, and even if something did, they could surely vanquish all troubles. Anyway, the weather here wasn’t as different, and he didn’t face any problems with acclimatizing. Thus, Mogensha treated this like an extended holiday.
During these seven days, Sheyan didn’t idle. While mutually swapping combat pointers with Mogensha, he also occupied himself with his concoction of gene-mixes. In the end, he unexpectedly managed to create two strange yet new gene-mixes.
The first concoction was – ‘Force of the Stinkbug’. Upon smashing it, it will first deduct 30 HP of the thrower, before unleashing a shockwave which deals 1.5 seconds stun to surrounding enemies. Noteworthily, other gene-mixes only induces a 1 second stun. Then, the resultant stink mist will lower enemies movement speed by 30% (other gene-mixes is 20%), with a bigger radius of 33%. Moreover, the duration would be extended by 50%. Furthermore, enemies who attempts to cast abilities in the chemical stink mist may have a 15% chance of failing due to being disgusted.
This was the fruit of his research on various tree insects. Such an insect commonly resides in Chinese Parasol trees would fart out extremely stinky gas upon being assaulted! Hence, its moniker amongst insects was also known as the ‘Fart bug’. Sheyan started researching on this due to realizing he didn’t possess a gene-mix specifically used for hurling.
Apart from that, Sheyan completely reworked his semi-completed mantis gene-mix. Instead, he introduced a new specimen into his experiment – the famous bullfrog.
The bullfrog gene-mix was rather identical to the mantis gene-mix, and couldn’t be blended with other gene-mixes. Instead, its consumption effect was rather peculiar – reducing user’s physique by 33%, but increasing his jumping distance by two metres and height by one metre, for a duration of 300 seconds. Furthermore, this gene-mix couldn’t be consumed consecutively and had a cooldown period of an hour.
Never ever belittle the enhanced jumping capabilities of this gene-mix. Though the effects seemed rather minute, on careful contemplation, it could be exceedingly frightening!
Let’s say if Sheyan could merely jump over obstacles of a metre high previously, then after consuming the Bullfrog gene-mix, he would be able to scale 2 metre high obstacles! As such, running in treacherous or complex terrain, regardless of pursuing or fleeing, there would definitely be distinct advantages.
Except, the consequence of consuming this gene-mix definitely wasn’t neglectable, costing 33% of one’s physique! To Sheyan, drinking it at optimal state would undoubtedly mean deducting 300 plus HP! To other opponents, as long as the power disparity isn’t that great, an invincible sniper could possibly unleash a fatal assassinating in one shot! Hence, one must be timely in utilizing this gene-mix, because drinking it while being pursued by others, could mean expediting one’s personal demise.
Meanwhile, Reef also conveyed a message, indicating that his progress pertaining to the soul equipment ‘Gold Pearl of the Caribbean Sea’ was flowing smoothly. In about 2-3 more days, he would be able to lock onto Diaz’s descendant. Although Diaz’s name was recorded in history, World War 1 and 2 had been utterly terrifying and horrific meat grinders! Unfortunately for Diaz, his descendants had been drawn into the fray. That was why Reef’s search had been delayed till now. Furthermore, if not for his household’s long history and formidable influence, he may not even have been so efficient!
After several discussions later, and when Reef finally affirmed that Diaz’s descendant was residing in England, Sheyan decided to directly fly over and settle the soul equipment. This was because Sheyan was the one who accepted the soul equipment’s mission. Concurrently, he would deal with the ‘Bronchitis’ issue there.
At present, Sheyan could roughly determine his current circumstances. With his innate ability ‘Stronghold’, he should at least be able to support himself up to the 3rd tier of the innate skill tree before his life meets any fatal jeopardy. Of course, the prerequisite would be if Sheyan possessed an adequate amount of achievement points. Yet in reality, the remaining measly achievement points he possesses, apart from saving for his military rank, he could at most spare some to learn the ‘Bronchitis’ ability.
Three days later, Sheyan, accompanied by Reef, retrieved the dazzling ‘Gold Pearl of the Caribbean Sea’ out from its case, and handed it to a tottering 89 year old granny. As she stroked down pearl case with trembling fingers, tears rolled down her cheeks.
Only at this moment, did Sheyan realize that the words Diaz left for his descendants was actually engraved onto the pearl case! After the old granny expressed her gratitude to Sheyan and Reef, she kept the archaic pearl case and gifted the golden pearl to them.
Thus, Sheyan obtained a soul equipment strengthened perceptive sense wondrously. Moreover, this soul equipment actually wasn’t soul binding, and Sheyan directly placed it into the party storage. Although when interacting with male lifeforms, the wielder would be influenced by 10 points of negative phantom charm, the 15 points of positive phantom charm would be exceptionally amazing when dealing with female individuals or creatures.Chapter 679: Dithering over death’s edge

The attributes of the ‘Gold Pearl of the Caribbean Sea’ was indeed remarkable. Nevertheless to Sheyan, the 15 points of positive phantom charm boost was akin to a fleeting satisfaction. Instead, he was more pleased with the ability of this soul equipment – ‘Pearliate’.
Actually, the perceptive sense boosting property of the ‘Pearliate’ ability appealed differently amongst different individuals, and wasn’t as amazing as it sounded. The x2 perceptive sense effect merely doubles one’s pure perceptive sense, without factoring equipment bonuses. Moreover, each usage would cost 5,000 utility points for a duration of merely 10 minutes. Such an exorbitant valuation could naturally be easily shouldered by Sheyan if he still possessed hundred thousands of utility points like before. Yet now, he could only gaze at the ocean and lament over his inadequacy.
Next, the trio’s target naturally skewed towards assisting Sheyan in contracting the ‘Bronchitis’ virus.
Reef reckoned that since Sheyan insisted his life wouldn’t be at risk, then they should consider visiting a private facility. Then, using cash to raise requests amongst doctors who could only see gold in their eyes. With the aid of a professional, there wouldn’t be a possibility of Sheyan failing
Furthermore, as one of the largest city of Europe, it boasted an endless and dazzling line-up of small medical clinics. Some could only suppress their prices and services to compete with larger medical facilities, solemnly vowing to their patients in great confidentiality.
With Reef leading them, they soon arrived at a clinic situated in a small alley nearby London’s Trafalgar Square. Noteworthily, this wasn’t a clinic affiliated with Reef’s family, but a clinic the privately rented chauffeur suggested.
Oh, noteworthily, the chauffeur’s smile was seemingly queer. Evidently, he treated them as though they were customers infected with STDs but still desiring to seek pleasure…..
The reason for not patronizing clinics affiliated with Reef’s family was this – Sheyan knew his current situation was truly too outrageously bizarre. To proactively seek to be infected with the ‘Bronchitis’ virus and subsequently be miraculously healed, would definitely make headlines amongst the doctors. If such news were to be transmitted recklessly, should someone catch hints and trace to the origin, it would bring unnecessarily detrimental troubles for Reef.
Right now for the current Party Ace, every single member was akin to an indispensable cornerstone. Not even a single could be discounted. Furthermore, the trio weren’t willing to commit murder or arson, thus, they employed such a method to guarantee the safety of the group.
As light rain drizzled down in London as usual, the air was moist and cold, and the ground clammy. After alighting, the trio adjusted their caps and windbreakers, before pressing on the clinic’s doorbell.
Before the door opened, Sheyan noticed that the soaked floormat appeared incredibly neat and clean. However, it was already one in the afternoon.
This indicated that either business was booming, and the clinic just swapped away an extremely filthy floormat, or there were hardly any patients.
Soon after, an unfriendly nurse guided the trio into the clinic hall. The impression she left was that of a well-developed figure and maroon shaded short hair.
The clinic hall was decorated in an old-fashioned but pristine manner; as though there would be a gigantic symbolic fireplace at a corner, with combusting oaken wood crackling within. Long and narrow windows constructed with brown willow frames exuberated an european elegance, under the gentle illumination of a suspending chandelier. On the whole, the place appeared rather gloomy and reserved.
Approximately a minute later, a middle-aged male with a goatee strolled out. After surveying the trio, he politely addressed.
“I Am Mister Mahoney. How may I assist you fine gentlemen?”
Brother Black took a glance at the doctor and mumbled.
“My friend wishes to be infected with bronchitis.”
Doctor Mahoney instantly replied.
“Gentlemen, bronchitis is an illness that has plagued humankind for millenniums. Fortunately, I am rather learned about treating such persistent inconveniences…..what?!This gentleman here, what did you just said?!!”
Reef glanced at Reef. Reef then coughed and interrupted.
“It’s like this, Mister Mahoney. My friend is truly an obstinate rascal. In the past, he was injected with an expensive immunity boosting drug, something like that of globulin. As such, his confidence in his own body is simply outrageous. This led to an argument in a bar between us friends last night. He believes he is as strong as an ox, and that it is impossible for him to be infected with diseases like bronchitis and such. We, on the contrary, take a different stance on the matter…”
Doctor Mahoney observed Reef with disbelief. Then, he shifted his gaze to Sheyan and asked.
“Respected gentleman here, I can’t understand the relationship between that and seeing a doctor?”
“Hence, we made a wager.” Reef shrugged his shoulders. “Moreover, under the influence of vodka, our wager skyrocketed immensely, which includes the property rights of a castle and a manor. Unfortunately, we can’t verify this wager.”
Doctor Mahoney inquired doubtfully.
“Gentlemen, I still can’t connect that to needing a doctor right?”
To which, Reef fished out a cheque, keeping it brief and to the point.
“The content of our wager is this – whether he can contract bronchitis within 24 hours. I need your medical expertise to testify that I’m correct, that the immunity globulin is just a ridiculous scam.”
“Shut it!” Sheyan angrily rebuked. “You are the greatest swindler! I can feel that my body is stronger than even Achilles’! Don’t talk about doctors, not even God can affect my health!”
Doctor Mahoney was lost in bewilderment for a brief while, before replying.
“But a doctor is suppose to treat ailments…”
Reef then placed the cheque onto the table and slid it across.
“This is my down payment, you have 2 hours to convince me to stay. If he really contracts bronchitis, then I shall hand over another cheque; which is ten times the amount right here. So, tell me, do you accept, or not?”
When doctor Mahoney noticed the 100 pounds valuation on the cheque, his heart rate multiplied ten folds and instantly heaved in a chilling breath! Still, he wasn’t sure and further inquired.
“Are you truly serious?”
Reef fished out another cheque. Shua! Shua! Shua! He wrote down the figure ‘1,000’ and paraded it before the doctor. Then, pronounced significantly.
“You still have an hour and 58 minutes.”
Doctor Mahoney was instantly pumped with adrenaline. He removed his coat and lavaliere before calling out thunderously.
“Sussanne! Get to work!!! Though god’s graces has never shone on me, I shall loudly praise the favour of the devil!”
Sussanne strolled in lazily from outside, and followed Mahoney into the diagnosis room. As they spoke in whispers, nobody could hear them. Yet in reality, how perverse were the individuals on scene? As such, the conversation between them was fully exposed.
“What did you say? I’ve finally seen you clearly. Your medical skills are as poor as your character.”
“Wait Sussanne, those are wealthy clients, a group of eccentric tycoons. They aren’t here to receive treatment.”
“Oh heavens, are they here to collect taxes?”
“They are here to get infected.”
“Shit, are you turning muddled?”
“Listen to me…(random 500 words later)….rich spoilt brats are always morons with queer fetishes. You understand this, Sussanne, perhaps I’m not really a good doctor but I’m a genius in making diseases worse.”
“…hmph, if this matter is really true, then I shall keep my faith in you. Hand it over!”
“What?”
“That cheque! I must verify it isn’t a fraud……oh, seems rather legit, what do you think?”
“Sussanne, are you going to return the cheque to me?…..”
“Mister! Mister Mahoney! You haven’t paid me for 3 whole months already, I even had to share in the rental fees for this place last month. That isn’t even factoring the services I provide in cleaning up the rooms, making your meals and other daily activities. Do you dare to reiterate that statement?”
“…..Sussanne, fine. Let’s get to work. We only have a 2 hours timeframe, and must strive harder for that cheque of ten folds!”
Doctor Mahoney was honestly rather accurate in his self-assessment. Indeed as he mentioned, he wasn’t talented in treating illnesses, but found great success in medical malpractice. Merely half an hour later, the originally healthy and robust Sheyan started clutching his chest as he coughed violently.
The bronchitis virus was beginning to flare up intensely in his body, doubling the ferocity with every moment and causing simple breathing to turn excruciating. His eyes rolled back as though he was about to faint, and at the latter periods, he even spat out blood with his phlegm! Soon, a swirl of bloodied disgusting vomit filled up several spittoons.
The intensity of this virus flare had vastly surpassed Sheyan’s estimate. One could describe his current situation as dithering over death’s edge. If not for his innate ‘Stronghold’ decreasing the peak phase of bronchitis by 25% duration, Sheyan affirmed that he would most likely die here.
Of course, this was also greatly related to doctor Mahoney’s medical skills. While facing Sheyan’s condition, his performance was exceedingly frantic and helplessly bewildering. It appeared as though he was busily doing much, but in truth, his contribution was inferior to even Sussanne’s.
Fortunately, after the duplicating process of the A-virus concluded, Sheyan finally freed himself from the agony.
His complexion was deathly pale and his body drenched in sweat, looking more exhausted than if he had just been just battling a tier-9 legendary creature, before warring against sister Melody. Only after lying for half an hour on the treatment bed, did he regain strength to get up….Chapter 680: Demondream’s will

Sheyan’s legs were still wobbly even after leaving the clinic. The trio then proceeded to a steakhouse for a meal, and the first sentence that Sheyan uttered was,
“Screw this, if I attempt to challenge the third tier of virus now, I would be dead meat! Bloody hell S rank ability, I underestimated your difficulty!”
Brother Black and Reef chuckled in response. Mogensha then lighted a cigar and took a nice puff before speaking.
“Boss, why not we devise way to earn some money and invest in a hospital? I know of a diamond mine and an oil field in Somalia, just that I wasn’t very interested.”
Sheyan’s thick black brows sprung up like twin blades carving towards each other. After a brief while, he shook his head.
“We can eliminate the prospects of an oil field, as we aren’t equipped with necessary haulage or intermediary links. Churning out too little a quantity is pointless for profits, Too much, and we’ve to involve excessive people, transportation tankers and other essentials. Moreover, oil is a commodity of national interest, and would be easily seized or blocked off……nevertheless, we can contemplate over the diamond mine. Reef any links for procurement?”
Reef nodded.
“Not an issue.”
At this instant, Brother Black abruptly remembered their purpose for being here, and asked to understand the attribute of Sheyan’s 2nd tier virus pestilence – ‘Bronchitis’.
To that, Sheyan very forthrightly displayed out.
[ 2nd Tier branch ability: Bronchitis lvl 1 ]
[ Detail: This ability is only effective on enemies infected with the flu virus. It influences the tier 1 branch ability – ‘Influenza’ ]
[ Detail: When an enemy infected with the ‘Flu’ virus is contaminated with the ‘Bronchitis’ virus, it takes 5 minutes to achieve virus outbreak ]
[ Effect: Within intervals of 25 seconds, there’s a 25% probability of receiving a ‘violent coughing’ negative effect. This effect can be triggered simultaneously with the ‘Flu’ ability negative effects ]
[ Violent Coughing: During this period of violent coughing, the enemy will be rendered immobile; incapable of attacking or casting abilities for 2 seconds. Whenever the enemy experiences ‘Violent Coughing’ for 3 times, the next time will induce a 150 points blood loss damage spreaded over 15 seconds ]
[ When enemy is plagued by ‘Bronchitis’, when negative effects (sneeze, shiver, headache) of the ‘Flu’ ability is ongoing, there is a 10% probability of triggering the ‘violent coughing’ negative effect ]
[ You can choose to activate or seal off this branch ability at anytime. Requires 10 MP to activate/seal ability ]
[ This branch ability can coexist with certain other virus types ]
[ When enemy leaves the contamination radius of your virus, this virus effect will remain effective on his/her body for 10 minutes ]
[ Please quickly invest more achievement points to evolve this branch ability, which will subsequently unlock higher tiers in the innate skill tree! ]
Although Sheyan thoroughly desired to advance this ‘Bronchitis’ ability, this ability of the tier 2 skill tree astoundingly required 6 achievement points to do so. Even with the 50% discount, he still needed 3 achievement points!
At present, Sheyan was only left with 102 achievement points. Wanting to continue investing in this ‘Bronchitis’ ability would be wishful thinking. Right now, Sheyan realized he could only describe himself as famished and thirsting for achievement points.
Fortunately, the cost of employing both virus abilities weren’t tremendous, and didn’t land Sheyan in an awkward predicament of not being able to utilize them.
Eventually, it was time to return to the nightmare realm, and thus, the trio hurried back to the realm.
Upon returning, they first received an extremely pleasant news. Reef’s exhibited ‘Alien Skull’ shield was unexpectedly sold off!
Bear this in mind, Reef’s earlier intent was merely to advertise it and didn’t plan on actually selling it off. Thus, he had designated an extravagant valuation that vastly exceeded the items actual value.
80,000 utility points plus 50 potential points.
In his own estimation, selling it off for 50,000 utility points plus 25 potential points would be satisfactory already. Instead, someone actually blatantly purchased his ‘advertising’ price.
Presumably, the buyer must’ve encountered some desperate life or death circumstances, thereby needed to urgently convert resources to battle power. Moreover, once could similarly observe how precious a MT equipment was deemed as.
As expected, the two dark-green set equipments similarly received great fanfare. Fortunately, Sheyan previously designated the valuation at a ridiculous ‘9999999999’ price. Otherwise, a wealthy landlord would’ve possibly swallowed them in one mouth.
Though that was so, the realm messages they received added up to a total of 23 individuals; piling up the ‘letterbox’ of Sheyan’s personal room.
With this sudden economic upturn, Brother Black and Reef naturally rushed out for a spending spree, leaving Sheyan alone in his personal room to browse through the messages. When his military rank was promoted previously, the realm upgraded his ‘letterbox’ into a holographic one with unparalleled tidiness and efficiency; appearing somewhat analogous to the avant-garde technology of the Avatar world.
With gentle sliding movements, the silverish-grey letters floated in front of him like a thin book opening. With a single tap of his finger, the contents beamed up with 3D wordings; simultaneously projecting the owner’s voice. It was practically like face-timing them.
Whenever he became disinterested in a message, he would effortlessly swap it away; as quick as though he was playing fruit ninja. The contents would then turn fuzzy and dissipate.
After consecutively reading several messages, Sheyan’s lips curled into a faint smile. Evidently, the value of the two dark-green set equipments exceeded the trio’s initial estimation by around 10 – 20%. If they manipulated their negotiations well, the ending harvest could very well vastly surpass their original plans for the set equipments.
“Eh? What’s this?” Several realm messages later, Sheyan abruptly discovered a sliver of blood red beneath the pile! Unsure why, an indescribably sensation overwhelmed his heart. With a flick of his finger, that blood red letter was propelled upwards before he tapped it open.
Instantaneously, a bloodied message hovered up before Sheyan’s line of sight. A dazzling swirl as though a painting brush was painting followed, before finally forming into a 3D image. It was shockingly, Demondream!
However, Demondream’s appearance looked extraordinarily miserable. Her hair was disheveled and one of her arms had been severed. Even her face was stained with black smoky sediments. At the right side of her chest, was a terrifyingly gruesome mutilated hole; allowing one to view the backdrop scenery through it. Her face no longer projected her usual haughty and unbending countenance, but instead, exhibited pure sorrow.
As she stabbed one dagger deep into the ground while half kneeling, she raised her head to meet Sheyan’s face, before exclaiming despondently..
“Seaman, I was wrong! It was I who advocated strongly to abandon you guys then, in favour of obtaining more time to equip ourselves in order to contest against Glory Party. Zi initially wished to ally with you, but I interfered and relentlessly renounced you guys. Therefore, let all hatred and grievances be placed on me!”
“Glory Party has already infiltrated our world, and wishes to annihilate our entire party! Archeaphill is dead, Yuan Zhan and Sable have both turned traitor, and Deadsouls user Mordah has also been slain! I……can’t live for long, only Zi can still resist them. But although Zeus hasn’t even showed up, she definitely cannot hold up till this world concludes!”
“So…please I beg of you, save her! The Metals Professor and Glory Party will surely not let you off, and if Zi survives, you will stand a much better chance of surviving against them! I’ve already activated an ‘S’ rank item ‘Space-time Wormhole’. Please…accept this and save her using this ‘Space-time Wormhole’!”
“Possibly when you see this message, I would’ve already perished. But through my will authorized by my military authority, if Zi can escape this world alive, you can inherit one thing from my will! This will includes equipments, items, achievement points, utility points, free attribute points and others. Your rewards will surely be aplenty…..”
“Lastly, if you manage to see Zi, please tell her this…..although she will never accept, but my feelings for her have never changed since the beginning. In my next life, I hope I can be a male…farewell, Seaman!”
After Demondream uttered her final statement, the 3D imagery of her fluctuated chaotically before vanishing before Sheyan. Simultaneously, he received a notification.
[ Unknown individual has activated the S rank item ‘Space-time Wormhole’ targeting you ]
[ You can choose to accept or reject this item. If you accept, you will be forcibly transported to unknown individual’s location of the respective nightmare world ]
Sheyan immediately investigated with his military authority.
“Can the ‘Space-time Wormhole’ transport other party members?”
To which, he received a straightforward answer.
[ Yes ]
Then, Sheyan received another notification.
[ You received a will from Growth-Hunter no.89912 (deceased): Protect Growth-Hunter no.4421 and assist Growth-Hunter no.4421 in escaping from her mission world alive. Upon success, you can freely obtain one option from Growth-Hunter no.89912’s equipments, items, achievement points and utility points as will inheritance. Do you wish to accept this will? ]
[ Warning: The ‘Space-time Wormhole’ will terminate in 15 minutes time, please make your decision at once! ]
Sheyan took a deep inhalation and shut his eyes. Then, he swiftly transmitted notifications to Mogensha and Reef, urging them to return as soon as possible.
Brother Black and Reef were presently on a shopping spree, and thus, were able to rapidly return, before gazing at Sheyan with unquenchable suspicions.
TL: I’m guessing the Space-time Wormhole allows them to go back in time (a little?) as well. Otherwise, considering how much time they spent in the real world, that nightmare world should’ve concluded already. Otherwise, its that the realm malfunctioned in the timing again. Or maybe the author just forgot haha.
ED: The author acts a bit freely with the time difference between the nightmare realm and the real world, he keeps changing it. So it could just be that.Chapter 681: Sole advantage

Beginning of volume 10
Sheyan creased his eyebrows tightly. After a deep contemplation, he reopened his eyes and spoke solemnly.
“I just received Demondream’s distress call. Take a look.”
Although Demondream’s message had vanished, this was still Sheyan’s personal room. With his military authority, he could effortlessly access ‘CCTV’ recording capabilities. After Mogensha and Reef finished viewing, they both felt exceedingly troubled. Still, Reef took the lead in suggesting.
“Could it be a trap?”
Mogensha shook his head as he frowned.
“It shouldn’t be. Demondream’s death cannot be falsified.”
Reef sullenly continued.
“Ah but, if the Glory Party truly waged war with the Illume-union, logically speaking, Zi shouldn’t be able to last so long with the remaining forces of the Illume-union.”
Sheyan then uttered.
“Zeus is a cocky and arrogant fellow. Therefore, even though he desires to kill Zi, he’ll definitely try to make her yield before him and kill her! But that’s just one reason. Another possibility, is that many variances have arose in their mission world; for example, variances such as vile, diabolical environment like the Kijuju Marshland we just experienced, or perhaps, Zi managed to gain the assistance of formidable storyline forces.”
“Of course, we cannot discount the possibility of other contestant factions contending against Glory Party either! These are factors Zi could leverage on against the Glory Party.”
While speaking, Sheyan glanced at the noticeably nervous Mogensha.
“What’s wrong? Looks like you don’t wish to go up against the Metals Professor eh?”
Brother Black nodded tacitly. Frankly speaking, the Metals Professor had previously cast a shadow on his heart, like an inescapable nightmare! Originally believing her to have perished for good by Sheyan’s hands, yet she’d unexpectedly rose from the ashes!
In contrast, Sheyan lifted his head and earnestly urged.
“I’ve made my decision to enter the ‘Space-time Wormhole’! If we don’t participate, Zi’s outcome would either be being killed, or being roped in! Since an inevitable battle exists between us and the Glory Party, we shall not permit such atrocities from happening!”
Reef interrupted.
“However, what if we fail to rescue Zi, but in turn, get caught up in the shit storm?”
Sheyan very composedly answered.
“Actually, I’ve already investigated one pivotal element with my military authority – if we infiltrate their world with an ‘S’ rank item like the ‘Space-time Wormhole’, the Glory Party would be utterly oblivious of our invasion. That, will be our sole greatest advantage. If we exploit this advantage well, rescuing her wouldn’t be a problem.”
As he spoke till here, Sheyan’s face revealed a sly smirk.
“Therefore, let’s serve them a taste of virus pestilences!”
“Oh right!” Mogensha abruptly raised a sharp question. “Boss, your virus would inevitably face counters right? Say, against elemental creatures like the balrog or cyborgs like the terminator, how would it fare?”
Sheyan sighed in response.
“Those freaks are immune to most diseases, that is something that can’t be helped. I’ve checked with the realm, only certain high level tier diseases can be effective on them. Hence, even the dark rider, Little Lord Fokke, possessed powers of frost to counter such situations.”
“Hmm, let’s say you encounter mutations like the Licker, or Deathmarsh Great Crocodiles like the last world?” Reef became curious as well.
Sheyan replied.
“The realm’s answer is this – the A-Virus can slightly tweak the efficacies of the virus abilities, allowing it to be effective normally. Only in certain special circumstances, would it be ineffective. Say, for creatures born without lungs or needing to breathe, they would be invulnerable to the ‘Bronchitis’ virus. Or cavemen of the world of magic, since they are born without eyes, they would be immune to eye diseases.”
“On the contrary, certain creatures are particularly sensitive to certain diseases. For example, the effect of diseases like rhinitis would be amplified against dog like creatures, or like bird flu, which is additionally lethal to bird like creatures. AIDs to monkey type creatures….oh, I do earnestly hope, the realm only selects humans to be contestants right…..”
After listening to Sheyan’s explanation, Reef became even more curious.
“Frankly, I’ve never heard of contestants originating from other species.”
At this moment, Sheyan noticed the time and prompted.
“The ‘Space-time Wormhole’ still has 13 minutes before terminating, let’s make our preparations! Our supplies should still be relatively adequate……well, the previous world didn’t present to us much opportunities to use them. Okay, let’s disperse and gather back 10 minutes later!”
Ten minutes later, Sheyan converged back with Reef and Mogensha. The trio stood shoulder to shoulder as they selected to enter the ‘Space-time Wormhole’. They initially thought the nightmare realm would project a glowing door for them to enter. Alas, such a thinking was truly too naive!
Upon selecting to enter the ‘Space-time Wormhole’, no abnormalities surfaced initially. Yet while the trio were exchanging glances anxiously, the world around them suddenly started spinning.
It felt as though their legs were glued to the ground, while the room was revolving rapidly in midair. Then, they got struck by an endless abyss, their surroundings surged with incredible turbulence. A sensation of challenging the balance of their mind to its extremes!
Even with the domineering enhanced bodies they possess, the trio could merely last for a short interval before a nausea inducing delirium overwhelmed them.
At some point, the encompassing scenery around them had disappeared. What remained, was a transparent ground with distinct hoops of circulating around them. It was as though an incorporeal channel had formed in the air, and the trio were speedily barrelling through with breakneck pace.
Like sitting on a roller coaster in a tunnel, a streak of light suddenly shone in from afar. That was followed by the loud cries of the trio, as they collided straight into the distant light source!
Bang! A thunderous boom resounded. Wrapping his head, Sheyan was flung out from a void in midair! He smashed disastrously against the window of a besiding shop.
Piank! Piank! Obviously, the window shattered into smithereens, as glass shards sprayed in all directions.
Following that, he crashed against a pillar, rebounded off to a writing desk, and finally landed fortunately onto a single-seater sofa. The unlucky sofa emitted a disgruntled wail, as the flooring beneath cracked with 2-3 metre long crevices, before settling down.
Sheyan reclined on the sofa as he panted heavily. After examining that he hadn’t lost anything, Sheyan slowly climbed back up and contacted Mogensha and Reef. The other two were segregated in a radius of 200 – 300 metres, and were both cursing at the ruthlessness of the wormhole loudly. Still, the trio had all landed safely.
“Ah, truly infuriating. Not a single notification after entering this world. Blank, nothing, no information nothing.”
Sheyan scanned the indoor furnishings. This shop he wrecked appeared to be a clothing business, with quite a few mannequins stationed around. However, the shop was distinctly in disarray, as clothes were discarded messily on the ground. Even currency notes were sporadically scattered around.
“Seems like a civilized world. Hmm, from the furnishings and decorations, this is probably 20 – 25 years in the future from our modern world. Seems like the system is fully sound automated….”
Sheyan tidied up the clothings, and whispered into the party channel to Reef and Mogensha.
“Since our discrete infiltration is a vast advantage, try your best to be cautious and minimize the chances of others discovering our existence; at least, until we lay hands on Glory Party.”
Soon after, Sheyan stepped out of the shop.
A quiet stillness lingered throughout the spacious streets like that of a graveyard. Not a single soul was present under the broad daylight. Merely, vehicles of every kinds were chaotically blockading the main road. The surroundings felt as though a massive robbery had befallen it. An unprecedented filthy mess, as even clear traces of blood trails stained the streets; signalling that bodies had been hauled around or were crawling bitterly. Only, a pair of traffic lights on opposite banks of the road continued to flicker incessantly.
“This scene, have we perhaps entered another Resident Evil world? Or some other apocalyptic movie? The Illume-union really knows how to pick their destination.”
After several minutes elapsed, the trio finally reassembled. To hide away from the public, the trio congregated within a massive supermarket, as they attempted to analyze their first impressions of this world.
Of the trio, the unluckiest was Brother Black. He landed on his head, blasting a large gash across his brow area, where he managed to curb the bleeding after using 2-3 bandaids.
All of a sudden, a coarse and wild rumbling of a vehicle echoed from afar. The trip glanced at each other and immediately prone down, seizing the cover of the supermarket. When the rumbling past them, they stealthily spied towards the distant.
Clearly seen, a 6-wheel Hummer had accelerated here and finally halted by the streetside. That was because there was a mess of mutually collided vehicles there. Probably after combusting from an explosion, what remained was a heap of charred car wreckages. Hence, even the monstrous Hummers was blocked off. The passengers could only dismount and proceed by foot.
A round and solid jackboot heftily trampled down, and coincidentally stomped onto the wreckage of a car window! Piank! A cutting sound emerged as glass shards dispersed, some lodging deep into a wooden door by the side, while some poking into the nearby car tyre.
Pshh! Pssh! The sounds of leaking air could be heard distinctly.Chapter 682: Nightmare imprint on the brows?

Following that glass shattering jackboot, its predecessor emerged with sparks and the tinkling of small bells. That shoe was actually forged with pure metal!
“I hope we’re not late, Kaoyi. I suspect this district has already been scavenged by others.” A thick nasal accent broke the silence.
The one speaking was the owner of the pair of boots. He was clad in heavy infantry armour of the medieval ages. His armour glistened with surreal brightness, and the armour was abnormally broad at the shoulder area. His neck too, was completely covered by the armour. In his left hand, wielded an incomparably acute and shiny single-handed long sword. It seemed as though the sword came alive in his hand, shimmering with pulses of chilling brilliance.
“Not late yet, Joseph”
Behind the heavy armoured Joseph, surfaced a skinny and agile looking individual.
While speaking, that individual pressed his hand onto the vehicle before nimbly leaping towards the blood trails on the main road. Afterwards, he dipped his finger in the blood and took a whiff.
“However….I’m afraid we have trouble.”
As his words dispersed…..crash! A grand but dilapidated revolving door of a building was crashed opened not too far away. While soaring 5-6 metres in the air, the door frame disintegrated before bluntly splitting into two upon impacting the ground.
Instantly after, a triangular head poked out. Its head was covered in moss green scales and its eyes were similarly triangular. When its mouth was shut, it appeared exceedingly harmless, resembling a duck with its beak amplified manifold. Yet when it widened its mouth and bared its thin incisive teeth, they practically appeared like enlarged sawtooth dinner knives.
While it dragged a pair of bulky upright hind legs, this creature possessed a pair of minute forelimbs. Nevertheless, their muscles were swelling powerfully, exhibiting striking outlines beneath the skin. Razor-sharp claws like reaping sickles grew out from its forelimbs, combining both sharpness and brute might.
The revolving door wreckage was exactly the masterpiece of this creature’s fierce collision.
Indeed, this was a dinosaur with a tail as long as 4 metres.
A Velociraptor!
One could describe this dinosaur’s limbs as weaker in comparison, yet they were absolutely sturdy! Its eyes brimmed with frightening wisps of blood veins. Theoretically speaking, such a bloodshot eye normally impresses berserking insanity to others, instead, its gaze was ice-cold and cruel; seemingly viewing all creatures before it as whimpering, trembling preys!
Upon noticing the Velociraptor, Kaoyi had already swiftly darted behind a bus wreckage. His slick movements prompted one to subconsciously associate him as a serpent.
In contrast, Joseph, who was like a steel fort, was equally unflinching. Gripping the long sword in hand, he crazily charged forward.
Boom! Boom! Boom! His momentum was so powerful, large footprints were imprinted onto the tar road wherever he trampled.
While charging, a strange pattern in the middle of his brows flashed with dull radiance. It looked almost identical to a nightmare imprint.
Joseph was completely unabated by his surroundings, sending vehicular obstacles rumbling and tumbling aside as he charged through! In his wake was a rain of glass shards.
This brat looked completely like a heavy siege tank, spewing out intense black fumes as he rumbled forward; utterly ignorant of all obstructions!
Upon witnessing this scene, Sheyan couldn’t help but glance to Reef with a pensive expression. Reef’s expression was similarly extremely solemn, as he mumbled into the party channel.
“Official Growth-Hunter, presumably a strength type.”
Sheyan asked Mogensha.
“Do you recognize this Joseph?”
Mogensha shook his head faintly.
“Haven’t seen him before. Ah Boss, more importantly, haven’t you notice their nightmare imprints seem to be at their brows.”
Sheyan initially didn’t pay attention to that, and was instantly enlightened.
“Ah right, but all our nightmare imprints are on our chests eh?”
Meanwhile, as the trio were spectating and chatting, the heavy yet agile Joseph crashed against the tyrannical Velociraptor.
This sight was essentially like a massive steam locomotive car, huffing out thick smoke, before colliding into a chariot.
To their amazement, although the Velociraptor’s body was slightly bigger, it was shockingly knocked flying into the nearby shop, and soon followed by the sound of random things being broken to pieces.
Even so, it didn’t seem like Joseph occupied overwhelming superiority. Sent staggering backwards, he half knelt and pressed one hand against the ground to cushion himself. After producing a streak of friction sparks while tumbling 4-5 metres backwards, he finally halted in a half-kneeling posture.
Though he appeared with the upper hand, his countenance grew exceedingly ugly with a tingle of disbelief. He couldn’t resist the urge to glance down at his chest.
In the centre of his silvery shimmering breastplate armour, were clear claw marks! The intervals between the claw marks were incredibly distinct, like that of engravings!
During this collision, though Joseph seemed to have occupied superiority, the terrifying Velociraptor had simultaneously retaliated. With a simple cleave, it actually managed to leave deep claw marks on Joseph’s evidently superb defencive armour!
That was merely the armour, one could simply imagine the damage dealt to the flesh beneath.
By now, the Velociraptor had scrambled back up, and was stampeding closer with its stomp. Its eyes were scarlet red, as its swinging tail beat up a raging dust storm behind it. Yet one could observe from its solid skin, its robust muscles remained as solid as steel. Evidently, it didn’t receive any damage.
After scrambling up, it continued to fixate its insatiable preying eyes onto Joseph!
Yet at this moment, Joseph unexpected sighed in relief as the strangest thing occurred – the cleave marks in the middle of his heavy armour was actually starting to disappear. Without a doubt, his armour possessed a self healing capability, and was fully restored to its shimmering glossy demeanor!
Following his armour’s restoration, Joseph’s lips curled into a smirk. Releasing a contented harrumph, he knew that this ‘England Assault Cuirass’ armour he invested all his savings in was worth it. Moreover, he even blended an alloy material with it.
Concurrently, a gust of black wind shuttled past him, whipping up a loose papers and sediments voluminously into the sky before faltering down.
Correct! The skinny and agile Kaoyi finally took action!
Kaoyi’s sprinting posture was inclined so severely, his upper body was nearly parallel to the ground.
While Joseph’s charging impression was that of unrivalled boldness, Kaoyi was like a phantom in the night, or a spider gliding across the water surface; seemingly forming gales 2-3 seconds later wherever he passed.
When the accelerating Kaoyi reached the Velociraptor’s front, he drew a dagger from his waist and carved upwards! Instantaneously, a streak of blinding bright arc sliced through the air!
In response, the Velociraptor completely ignored Kaoyi’s incisive assault, and plainly clawed forth with its left forelimb.
A wound instantly sliced open on the thick skin of the Velociraptor’s right forelimb, despite so, Kaoyi’s dagger only left a shallow wound on its flesh. Concurrently, the Velociraptor’s left claw cleaved forth in retaliation, only to encounter Kaoyi dodging to the right like a phantom.
Kaoyi continued unleashing an unceasing chain of slashes, like a violent wind and rainstorm, he completely prevented the Velociraptor a chance for retaliation.
Streaks of dagger rays flashed across the Velociraptor’s body, the aftermath brilliance resembling that of an unwavering binding rope! Under such unending and rapid assaults, the Velociraptor couldn’t find a single margin to retaliate. All it could do was stagger backwards while sprinkling out fresh blood.
All of a sudden, Kaoyi’s dagger sliced out an arc light from bottom up, transforming into a crescent radiance of utmost splendor! Unexpectedly, the Velociraptor’s body was struck lifted by this one attack! Like an incorporeal hook, the assailing arc light ripped through its chin!
Blood splashed in all directions.
Following that, Kaoyi licked his blood soaked lips.
An overwhelming rusty taste pervaded his senses through his tongue.
The carnal taste of fresh blood.
Following that, Kaoyi crouched slightly. Yet as he crouched, cracks erupted through the solid concrete road beneath and depressed downwards. The air around was stale, yet his trousers were fluttering with utmost intensity; reminiscent that of a hurricane caressing the sails of a boat, and one could even hear the violent slapping of fabric against fabric.
Then, he abruptly blasted off!
His legs sprung off the ground, crisscrossing together as he slashed upwards. Simultaneously, his entire body bent backward as he executed a backward somersault!
At this precise instance, an astronomical circular blade ray formed, emitting the sound of air whistling while sucking in dust and littered waste towards it!
Within a split second, the deadly sharp blade ray slapped against the Velociraptor in midair, lacerating out a miserably crude long cut across its belly as blood gushed out wildly!
Although its defensive and offensive capabilities were extremely powerful, in the face of Kaoyi’s tempestuous and ferocious assaults, it failed to endure and was gravely injured!Chapter 683: Damn sneeze

This chopping circular blade ray was so incredibly devastating, it left the spectating trio shell-shocked.
Kaoyi landed in a squatting posture, pressing his hand onto the ground to support himself as he strived to catch his breath. Evidently, it had been immensely strenuous for him to execute that chain of fury swipes.
Yet, though the Velociraptor was grievously wounded, its ferocity actually heightened. After scrambling back up from the ground, it pounced forth with widened blood-dripping jaw, and chomped viciously down against Kaoyi’s neck!
Thump! Thump! Thump! At this moment, Joseph came barrelling forward, with his body shockingly dragging a dull white glow behind. Then, he slammed his incomparably thick shoulder against the Velociraptor’s jaw. Instantly, one man and dinosaur recoiled back simultaneously upon impact.
The furious Velociraptor roared savagely, as it speared forward and attempted to chomp down. Instead, Joseph’s longsword came slashing in horizontally, as the Velociraptor chomped his longsword instead.
One man and beast continued rolling around as they engaged in bitter duelling. After regaining his breath, Kaoyi immediately joined the battle!
Meanwhile, Brother Black took note of an abnormality. “That Joseph’s armour is rather strange.”
Agreeing, both Sheyan and Reef nodded in unison. They observed that whenever blood splashed onto Joseph’s armour or sword blade, Joseph’s longsword would radiate with a flash, before the splashed blood droplets would vividly be absorbed in. It appeared like dripping a water droplet onto a deep fryer, where the water droplet would evaporate rapidly.
This was an image that Reef witnessed before. It indicated that Joseph was equipped or possessed a lifestealing ability. The implications of that was without a doubt, being capable of substantially prolonging one’s battle survivability. Normally, weapons with such properties were exceedingly rare, and frequently sold for ungodly valuations.
Reef suddenly exclaimed.
“Look, that dagger Kaoyi is using, seems to be Demondream’s!”
Sheyan’s heart was instantly stirred and asked seriously.
“You can confirm?”
Reef nodded.
“I confirm.”
Sheyan’s eyes flickered as he continued.
“Since we belong to a Silver Prestige party, our party communication scope is approximately three kilometres. How far do you think theirs is?”
Reef and Mogensha deliberated a little before answering.
Sheyan nodded and announced.
“I understand, let’s tail them. It seems their perceptive sense is limited and cannot detect me. AK, scout around the proximity for any other foes, but considering their conversation, there shouldn’t be any. It seems their party have segregated into districts to accomplish a mission.”
Five minutes later, Joseph sheathed his sword. The blood sprinkles atop his silver ‘Assault Cuirass’ armour were swiftly absorbed, while every single scar on his armour rapidly vanished.
Seconds prior to this, his longsword had mercilessly thrusted into the Velociraptor’s mouth, and sliced off its tongue with a single swipe. Turbid blood spurted out, beneath its ruptured eyes that had been impaled by Kaoyi previously.
After receiving such fatalities, the Velociraptor was finally slain.
“Hey, Joseph, let me have this big guy’s mission crystal alright. You took five already!”
Instead, Joseph remained silent but swung his gaze around. Hidden beneath his heavy helmet, his eyes glared at Kaoyi; like a steel casted mountain range staring silently at Kaoyi.
Although Kaoyi’s blood dripping dagger conveyed a sense of brutal deadliness, he still shuddered under such imposing loftiness. Releasing a muffled snort, he reluctantly scowled.
“Okay, sorry. Let’s continue searching, I’ll let you have the priority in battle spoils and mission items alright?”
Joseph icily replied.
“Are you sure? If you feel this is unfair, I have no qualms about changing partners. Gao Jiafu and Lodhran are both looking forward to cooperating with me!”
Kaoyi angrily rebuked.
“Joseph, Cut the crap, I’ve already given you much remunerations. Just a little more, and it’ll be sufficient to just hire an MT instead.”
Joseph scoffed.
“Based on your qualifications, you wish to hire an MT? Dream on! Hmph, although my tanking limits are these Velociraptors and cannot deal with monsters like the Apatosaurus or Anchisaurus, my battle power is much mightier than an MT! Look at how effective I am in dealing with kinds like the Velociraptor, don’t you think so?”
While speaking, Joseph squatted and rummaged through the carcass of the Velociraptor. When he stabbed deeply into the carcass, he managed to excavate a tiny shining crystal.
By the side, Kaoyi’s eyes sparkled with rapaciousness as he observed the mystifying refractive radiance of the crystal,
He couldn’t resist the urge to rummage through the Velociraptor’s carcass as well, but sadly, to no avail. Scanning around that the coast was clear, Joseph issued with a muffled metallic reverberating voice.
“Go check the surrounding shops. Don’t forget, our delegated mission is to purge. We must carefully scour through our assigned district! Otherwise, we’ll have to venture deeper into the danger zone and risk it. I still have two dinosaur crystals I’ve yet to find, and there should be roughly three Velociraptors in this district, so…..cut the bullshit! You’ll get yours soon. Let’s go.”
Watching the two contestants gradually venturing into the district, Sheyan couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Can’t believe an MT is actually so prestigious. That Joseph seems to be unqualified even as an assistant MT. He is merely a strength type Growth-Hunter, and actually dares to bluster arrogantly. I can’t believe that Kaoyi can endure him.”
Reef became annoyed and chided.
“That’s very normal alright. During the later stages, MTs would become rarer. Oftentimes, for a single MT to mature fully, dozens other would fall! It is only our party that has such a special constitution. The formidability of our Silver prestige party widely makes up for the lack in equipments, while dual MTs can outrageously increase our chances in dealing with odd situations. Hpmh, I bet that in the entire nightmare realm, only a handful possess such a party constitution!”
Mogensha then interrupted.
“You can’t say for sure. At least to my knowledge, Glory Party also concentrates its effort on nurturing their own ‘MT’ cores in the party. Remember that Fanu?”
Raising the topic of Fanu, Sheyan momentarily didn’t think of the human, but that brutishly unrivalled armored Stegosaurus instead! Looking in perspective now, that big guy probably holds powers comparable to a Growth-Hunter!
Sheyan muttered.
“What’re you implying? That Fanu was an MT core that Glory Party tried to nurture?”
Mogensha nodded and proclaimed.
“That’s right. Moreover, Fanu was merely a back seated candidate.”
Many notions flashed through Sheyan’s mind in this instance as he blurted out.
“Isn’t Zeus afraid that those individuals he nurtures may revolt?”
Brother Black paused briefly before answering with a hoarse voice.
“He obviously isn’t afraid, because….he himself, is Glory Party’s MT!”
In this instant, both Sheyan and Reef’s countenance turned vacant, as they simultaneously felt a tremendous pressure!
Without a doubt, a war was bound to take place between Glory Party and Party Ace! Yet now, the war of the two parties may well involve the clash between MTs!
Would Zeus be the most outstanding, or the dual core of Sheyan and Reef triumph?
After a brief while, Sheyan indifferently ordered.
“It’s soon reaching seven minutes, let’s hurry and tail them.”
At present, Kaoyi was cautiously infiltrating a nightclub. The voluptuous looking female model posters stuck to the wall failed to distract him at all.
Looking at the bloodied trails and footprints, it was very possible a velociraptor was residing in this nightclub. Presumably, it hadn’t finished feasting on its prey.
Kaoyi deftly covered up his trails. From his walking posture, one could survey his every investigatory step was seemingly concealed within the shadows. Even when going for a drink during peacetime, Kaoyi would probably sit at the darkest corner of the bar.
His greatest crisis had been one time when he tried to steal intelligence from his manager’s office. Coincidentally, his managed had returned. With the most uncomfortable posture, Kaoyi managed to curl himself behind the besiding sofa. The space was exceedingly narrow, and it was impossible for any normal individual to execute what he did.
Furthermore, the manager actually tossed days worth of work to destroy his secretary, and even after she finished the work, he himself ‘destroyed’ the secretary. In the end, he even took a 5-6 hours nap on the office chair before leaving.
Trapped in such a situation, Kaoyi actually managed to hold on without being discovered. One could simply imagine his patience and covert capabilities.
But at this precise moment, just at the riskiest moment of inadvertently startling the enemy, a sudden intensified urge to sneeze welled up within Kaoyi. Without a doubt, Kaoyi immediately suppressed this urge. Despite so, he soon realized the urge to sneeze was utterly counter attacking him, vigorously terrorizing his mental senses. At long last, he could no longer endure and unleashed a glorious ‘atchoo’!!
Logically speaking, trying to suppress one’s sneeze was an arduously irritating sensation. Yet to Kaoyi, the feeling of discomfort he received when sneezing seemed to have doubled. Concurrently, his mind was seemingly turning befuddled.
Nevertheless, Kaoyi immediately executed a backwards roll. If there was truly a menacing velociraptor here, a single sneeze would have sufficed to startle that monster in a raging stampede!Chapter 684: Heartbreaking sneeze……

For a reserve-duty Growth-Hunter like Kaoyi, a single velociraptor wouldn’t put his life in imminent peril. Nevertheless, it would still be an arduous and agonizing struggle, which could cost him precious items or medicines. Furthermore, Joseph should naturally be the one tanking the front instead.
After Kaoyi executed his backward roll, Joseph behind immediately frowned and scoffed.
“What’re you doing? A grand superhuman contestant, even a reserve-duty Growth-Hunter at that, can’t even hold back a single sneeze?”
Kaoyi widened his mouth in an attempt to refute, yet he ultimately couldn’t find the words. Furthermore, since they hadn’t completed their mission yet, and Joseph was truly a relatively cheaper mercenary, Kaoyi could only endure and remain silent.
Then, Joseph scolded again.
“If your inadequacies cost me losses this time!…..cough cough, cough cough…..then I’ll make you compensate me. Fudge, why is my throat so itchy?”
As he spoke, Joseph vigilantly advanced deeper into the nightclub. If there wasn’t a velociraptor here, then naturally nothing much needed to be said. But if there was and it had been startled by the sneeze, there would no longer be a need to sneak around.
Not long later, Joseph marched back out. The nightclub patronizing velociraptor had probably eaten its full and left long ago. Still, his belly was a pit of fire.
Upon nearing the exit of the nightclub, both Joseph’s and Kaoyi’s pupils abruptly contracted!
This was because at the exit, an unexpected man had surfaced unknowingly!
This man was currently standing peacefully, and was releasing a sensation that of a tidal withstanding reef. Not even winds nor waves overflowing to the sky could falter his upright stance! Anyone who dared to trespass, would inevitably be smashing their head against a solid reef, and blood would flow with immeasurable woe.
Joseph tightened his grip around his sword shaft and slowly inquired.
“Who might you be?”
While issuing that, the nightmare imprint on his forehead radiated with evident threatening intent; analogous to different countries carrying out nuclear tests whenever diplomatic tensions soared as a sign of threat.
Indeed, Joseph had realized that right at the chest of this man ahead, was the exact dazzling radiance!
“Fudge….!”
Joseph angrily fumed. Burying his body forward, he speared towards Reef like a rugby athlete.
Clink! Concurrently, 7-8 conical spikes drilled out from his metallic shoulder pad, as he aimed it ruthlessly towards Reef.
If knocked flying by him, apart from merely receiving damages and falling, one’s defence would simultaneously plunge by 33%.
A defence impairing property complemented by the agility type contestant Kaoyi, who possesses rapid attack speed but weaker power, could be said to be an excellent compatibility with each other.
To Joseph’s horror, when he was 5-6 metres away from impacting Reef, he shockingly discovered that the male ahead had pulled out an incredibly queer yet enormous shield.
This shield was emanating a dark-golden glaring brilliance, seemingly like the dazzling rays of the midday sun itself!
A heavy shield!
Dark-Gold grade!
Joseph finally collided against the heavy shield. Instantaneously, he could hear the irascible scraping sounds of the spikes on his shoulder pad against the shield. In this precise instance, he lost all his colliding impetus like he had completely banged against an impregnably tough city wall; failing to even sway his foe by a single fraction!
Instead, two long paths of footprints were etched into the cemented ground as dust fumigated throughout the place. He had merely managed to push his opponent 5-6 metres away! In contrast, the recoiling impact he received was so remarkable, it seemingly caused his whole body to turn numb!
“You’re an MT???! Fudge this, could it be you’re that Zeus?” Joseph gritted his teeth and exclaimed.
Instead, Kaoyi immediately called out.
“Not possible. Zeus has already reached such a terrifying realm, he definitely isn’t that weak and absolutely wouldn’t appear alone!!!”
In the midst of their exclamation, Joseph had already unsheathed his longsword and furiously chopped across. Simultaneously, Kaoyi detoured swiftly behind Reef’s unguarded back and unleashed a quick attack.
Yet why would Reef give them a chance? With an enraged roar towards the sky, a formless ripple swept out; sending all surrounding dest or sediments rolling away like a twelve grade hurricane.
Upon being struck by Reef’s ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’, their speed instantly fell.
Seizing this moment where his enemies were distracted, Reef lunged fiercely towards Kaoyi with a raising foot!
Abruptly observed on Reef’s foot, was the illusion of a giant horse hoof. The giant horse hoof very bluntly stomped Kaoyi to the ground, which followed by consecutively vicious tramples! Indeed, this was the ability of his ‘Siege Hooves’ boots – ‘Trampling Hooves’!
(TL: Reef acquired the boots in ch 15 of volume 9)
Kaoyi was trampled into a disastrously wretched state, as his face oozed with fresh blood. After enduring the rampaging hooves and just when he was about to scramble away, Reef unleashed a hefty slap across.
Nevertheless, Kaoyi managed to miserably dodge away from Reef’s direct slap. To his horror, Reef’s slap was merely a feign; his true objective was an english flying dart that jetted out from his palm, before accurately penetrating Kaoyi’s chest.
Indeed, this was Reef’s lethal hand-dart, one that could restore his health while ravaging his opponent!
Meanwhile, Joseph wasn’t simply idling. After wrestling away the slowness from Reef’s ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’, he ferociously speared over with his sword swiping for Reef’s body.
His sword instantly drew blood from Reef’s arm. As a Growth-Hunter, Joseph was absolutely not a weakling. Seizing this golden opportunity, his hands emitted a soft white glow. Then, he slapped his hands onto Reef’s dark-gold grade shield; as though drenched with sticky glue, his hands adhered tightly onto the periphery of the shield.
Instantly, the white glow permeated throughout Reef’s dark-gold grade shield and mystifyingly seeped inwards!
In a flash, the dark-gold shield turned noticeably translucent as though it was being transferred into another dimension! What remained soon, was its simple outline!
This was precisely Joseph’s party ability named ‘Primal-Lock’. During battle, this ability wouldn’t deal another direct damage to opponents, but could transfer the enemy’s equipment into another dimension for a short period of time; making it invalid.
At present, his ‘Primal-Lock’ ability had already reached level 9, hence, even a dark-gold grade equipment couldn’t resist the formidable might of this ability. Just think about the consequence if Professor Dumbledore’s wizard wand was suddenly locked into another dimension. One could imagine how potentially terrifying this ‘Primal-Lock’ ability could be.
Raising his arm, Joseph pounced forth with a raging snarl. In his heart, he believed that after getting rid of Reef’s shield, Reef would degrade into a toothless tiger and be trampled over easily!
Concurrently, Kaoyi also seized this chance and flashed towards Reef’s side, before executing the exact chain of deadly fury swipes he did against the velociraptor previously.
Streaks of agonizing blade rays carved out blood from Reef’s body incessantly.
In spite of these, Reef was a veteran of a hundred wars, and faced such dreadful scenarios countless times already. He remained unflustered in the face of these assaults, as his legs bent slightly while he guarded his front with both arms; allowing Kaoyi’s dagger to freely lacerate out wounds throughout his body!
Droplets of blood splattered onto Reef’s face, which only served to double his menacing and composed countenance!
All of a sudden, Kaoyi slashed from top down, as his dagger formed a radiating crescent arc that hooked upwards. This technique was solely based on the difference between their agility, and thus managed to send Reef, in his defensive stance, flying upwards. It appeared as though Reef had been hooked by a indomitably matchless hook that dragged him into a passive backflip into the sky, instantly leaving his gaps wide opened.
Once again, Kaoyi displayed his faint squatting action, where following this, several square metres of ground beneath depressed in under the accumulating pressure of his feet. Boom! A regiment of dust emerged as Kaoyi unleashed the accumulated energy! Then in midair, he planned to maliciously release an incomparably defying criss-crossing foot slash towards Reef.
Though the enemy was an MT, taking such a strike without the defence of his shield, would similarly shave off a good amount of his health. But at this very moment, an indescribably strange sensation overwhelmed Kaoyi, before condensing within his nose.
“What the hell, why do I feel like sneezing at this moment?”
“I must endure, I’m in the midst of killing someone!”
“I must definitely endure!”
“I must endure!”
“I en….”
“I….”
“Ahh~AhhAhh~~~Atchoo!!”
Still, Kaoyi managed to release his foot slash, as a raging wind gusted out. Instead, its only outcome was in hatefully carving out a 2-3 metres crack along the nearby cemented wall. One could fathom the heartbreak this very sneeze had caused.
After being hooked up into the air, Reef then quietly descended after a backflip. Following that, he slashed out with his lightsaber and sent Kaoyi staggering backwards. Then, Reef charged forward and released another stomp.
Joseph was right about to dive forward to stall Reef. Never would he expect, at this very instance, his body felt like it was immersed in an icehouse and an uncontrollable shiver erupted.
With his movement speed already hampered by the effects of Reef’s ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’, his movement speed greatly plunged further after shivering.
While Reef was stomping forth, Joseph held full confidence that he could disrupt him. Yet because of that weird shiver, he could only witness as Reef’s brutal stomp came slamming onto Kaoyi’s face!
Not only was his stomp painful physically, it also inflicted damage to his pride….Chapter 685: Crumbling cough…….

While fending off Reef’s ferocious stomps, Kaoyi strived to retaliate with his dagger. Upon feeling immense mortal danger, the middle of his brows emitted a dull brilliance. Evidently, he had resorted to awakening his limited use boundary power.
Reef swung in his left arm to block. Just when Kaoyi’s dagger was about to penetrate through, it unexpectedly scraped out sparks against the empty air alongside a piercing metallic chaffing sound.
After the effects of Joseph’s ‘Primal-Lock’ faded away, the scorching sun like dark-gold shield had awe-inspiring returned to Reef’s arm!
Following Reef’s successful block, Kaoyi instead felt a slight nibbling pain on his arm. Following that, a strange red boil popped up before rapidly festering and swelling up. Finally, a bewildering dreamy colored sage-scarab bore out from that boil. After devouring blood and flesh, it had swiftly matured into the size of a fist and was now assailing Kaoyi.
Even more strange, when Kaoyi ragingly thrusted his dagger, the sage-scarab flashed with brilliance and merely received a single point of damage! This discovery instantly caused fear to well up in Kaoyi’s heart.
“F***…what kind of freak have we encountered? He’s experienced in battle and even possesses such disgustingly formidable abilities! He can even summon creatures! What a perverse MT, when he matures, he wouldn’t be inferior to Zeus at all! Ah…..AHHHHahhh~~~~Atchooo!!!”
Although he appeared to be raging with full onslaughts, Joseph was already harboring intentions to retreat in his heart. Although he was a Growth-Hunter and even had an assistant, he distinctly understood they weren’t a match for such a redoubtable MT!
As a close combatant himself, he was already innately suppressed by MTs. Only an expert long range gunner who possessed speed lowering tricks, or a mage type Growth-Hunter who had stepped into the realms of possessing a halo domain, could rely on distancing superiority and achieve total dominance.
Noticing that Reef was concentrating his aggro onto Kaoyi, Joseph’s eyes twinkled and turned to flee. He wasn’t closely related to Kaoyi and wasn’t an individual whose righteousness transcends the skies, nor were they brothers who shared life and death…
Yet after retreating for 5-6 metres, a strange unexplainable itchiness erupted within his throat. While a sneeze could be forcibly endured, one definitely had to breathe. Instead, Joseph felt as though with every breath he took, the itch would soar momentously like adding oil to flames. Soon, he felt like a tiny knife was scraping his throat; feeling both itch and pain!
“Cough cough cough, cough cough cough!!”
Joseph ultimately couldn’t endure the immeasurably unbearable itch and began coughing violently. The first cough offered him extreme comfort, yet it soon spiralled into a state of shredding apart his lungs. Ruptured maroon flesh pulps adhered along his throat, and he hatefully wished to stretch his hand down to rip apart his throat.
After 5-6 consecutive coughs, his vision darkened. If he attempted to flee in this state, the only outcome would undoubtedly be crumbling to the ground! He could only stoop his back and continue coughing violently.
“Not right, something’s amiss!” A dreadful notion instantly flashed through Joseph’s mind. “Although our digitalized enhanced bodies still possess normal physiology reactions, like coughing when choking or sneezing due to excessive dust, it is impossible to abruptly contract ailments! Even if an exception happens, the odds of both Kaoyi and I being infected is too ridiculously low! Don’t tell me, this MT……possesses a virus spreading ability?”
“That doesn’t make sense. If we’re infected, why didn’t the battlelog inform us? It can’t be that his perceptive sense has suppressed us into misjudgements?”
After the “Violent Coughing’ effect dissipated, to Joseph’s extreme elation, Reef was still engaged in intense assaults, or more accurately phrasing, ravaging Kaoyi asunder. Knowing that the attention wasn’t on him, and after losing all will to fight, he immediately adopted a gloating yet desperate sentiment as he fled.
However, a chain of fiery bullets abruptly whizzed towards Joseph, leaving him in utter despair!
As a Growth-Hunter who toiled in the realm for so long, the most undesirable outcome he could think of truly happened – that MT actually possessed hidden assistants!
In fact, this was essentially quite a no brainer, except that Joseph wasn’t willing to think of that; he dared not think of that! Because he feared that if he did, any ounce of fighting spirit within him would instantly be crushed. Merely, not everything that we try not to think of, would absolutely not happen…
As the saying goes, even a puny bug would struggle to survive. Relying on past experiences, Joseph immediately darted behind a nearby vehicle, and took cover first. Yet while darting away, his nose abruptly twitched with an ominous itch, before his vision darkened and released a massive sneeze; causing mucus to flow and tears to stream.
As a result, his head crashed against the vehicle recklessly instead of safely taking cover! That single impact forcefully knocked the vehicle screeching backwards for 5-6 metres, as its car alarm pierced into the air……
“Ah, what remarkable brute force…”
Brother Black sighed with extreme boredom. Still, he didn’t remain idle, and why would he forsake such a grand opportunity? With a cigar in his mouth, he pressed his AK’s trigger tightly. In such circumstances, even his eighteen year old self could manage a hit rate of a hundred percent….
Meanwhile on the other side of the battlefield, Kaoyi was after all, a reserve-duty Growth-Hunter whose path oriented towards attack speed and explosive damages. Nevertheless, Reef easily fended against his assaults and similarly suppressed the chances of explosive strikes with his innate MT ability. Needless to say, he minimized damage received to the utmost minimum.
Moreover, with Kaoyi’s high frequency attack speed, it made triggering Reef’s dark-gold grade shield’s sage-scarab ability much easier.
Though the damage inflicted by the sage-scarabs weren’t high, it was truly repulsive! Furthermore, it contained rejuvenation effects for the user!
It wasn’t that Kaoyi hadn’t thought of escaping. In reality, after experiencing the first ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’ and damages, he immediately employed a medicine that could expel negative buffs; one that he bought with a high price….
He had then turned to flee, and didn’t reckon a single MT could pursue an agility based contestant. Yet after running for 10 plus metres, a frenetic fit of violent coughing assailed him. After he recovered from him, that terrifying MT had chased up to him….
A dozen plus minutes later, the battle concluded. As the reserve member, Sheyan didn’t act personally at all. He merely stood from a distance with his arms across his chest, and observed the outbreak of his diseases.
If Sheyan and his party members weren’t fully convinced of this new ability beforehand, after experiencing this battle, the trio unanimously believed the horrifying treachery that was this Rank 9, S evaluated secret variated ability!
Speaking in current perspective, though the two viruses couldn’t deal any direct damages to enemies, or possibly minute damages, its negative impairing buffs were truly extraordinary.
Under normal circumstances, Reef and Brother Black versus Joseph and Kaoyi, held identical pairing constitutions as Growth-hunter plus Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter. Even if Reef and Mogensha were victorious, it would inevitably be a hardfought victory.
This was because they would surely target the firepower gunmen first. The brittle skin, speed and potent offense nature of Kaoyi would undoubtedly suppress Mogensha. Even if Mogensha was covered by Reef’s ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’, he would surely be reduced to a devastatingly sorry state.
Yet with the auxiliary aid of Sheyan’s ‘Pestilence Monarch’, placing damnable time bombs in the form of a virus outbreak in them, Joseph and Kaoyi were utterly clueless as to when those vile negative effects would trigger.
Though the negative effects lasted briefly, not being able to defend against it was exceedingly depressing. Moreover, occasionally during vital moments, those despair inducing effects would abruptly trigger.
Furthermore, this was only the first and second tier of his ‘Pestilence Monarch’ ability! Once later tiers are unlocked, wouldn’t that be invincibly frightening?
While Sheyan was passionately rejoicing, he momentarily recalled the near-death tortures he would have to be subjected to in the real world, and couldn’t help but tremble with fear.
This wasn’t a joke at all. Sheyan could clearly perceive that if he were to rashly challenge the next tier virus, the probability of him dying in the real world would be more than 70 percent.
“Eh??” After a final fatal stomp by Reef, Kaoyi spat out a mouthful of blood and died without closing his eyes.
Simultaneously, the trio received the notifications.
[ Party Ace has killed a Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter? (serial number unknown). Reward: 2 achievement points ]
[ Party Ace has killed a Growth-Hunter? (serial number unknown). Reward: 4 achievement points ]
[ Since this is a party battle, please allocate achievement points reward by yourselves ]
[ In this world, the maximum amount of achievement points you can obtain from slaying is 10 points. Once this limit is reached, allocated achievement points would be ineffective and nonrefundable. Please allocate wisely ]
[ Slaying rewards are randomly drawn from the equipments of the slain contestant, and will be randomly allocated to any member in the party ]
[ Random drawing process will take some time. Initiating factoring of deceased opponent data……please wait patiently ]
The trio unanimously felt that such a phenomenon was extremely puzzling. Regardless of Reef or Mogensha, they both hadn’t experienced this before. They had only heard of earning slayer points upon killing foes before, but didn’t expect directly receiving achievement points from killing. Don’t even mention the absence of a dropped key, but a process of directly drawing rewards!
After some discussions, and aware of Sheyan’s tight budget with his Rank 9, S evaluated ability, an ability that could service the party amazingly, they allocated the four achievement points to Sheyan while they each took one.Chapter 686: Peculiar method of receiving battle spoils

Although trio attempted to dissect this peculiar scenario, they hadn’t heard of anything identical to this before and were unable to come up with a precise analysis.
At this moment, Sheyan suddenly remembered something and asked Reef.
“Oh right, in the previous world, didn’t you accept several tribal servants?” How many managed to survive?”
Recalling this matter, Reef’s brows hopped as he replied.
“I’m only left with one, I’ve relinquished the rest.”
“Relinquished?” Sheyan displayed utmost astonishment. After all, Reef’s servants exhibited pretty outstanding aptitude as well as loyalty, it definitely wasn’t like Sheyan’s first servant, the useless Charlie. Furthermore, it wasn’t like the current Jinkuang, who treated Sheyan like his slave on the contrary….
Reef helplessly sighed towards Sheyan’s inquiry.
“You think all servants are as easy to provide for like Jinkuang? Battle type servant requires loyalty degree, morale……and most importantly, I must provide equipments to enhance their survivability and battle capabilities. Otherwise, how could I use them to go up against others? Just a few times of reviving them would leave me completely bankrupt! Although our current finances are much better than previously, nurturing a single one is already my limit.”
Speaking till here, Reef unexpectedly revealed a delighted countenance.
“However, I am rather satisfied with this servant. From the looks of it, I can guess he belongs to an exceptionally rare category and is worthy of forsaking the other tribal servants.”
When Sheyan heard that, his eyes twinkled. After slight pondering, he asked.
“Could it be, that guy?”
Reef burst into hearty laughters in response.
“That’s correct, it is that guy.”
“Oi Oi Oi, can you scums stop talking in alien tongues?”
Mogensha only became increasingly baffled as the conversation went on. He was the unluckiest of the lot in the previous world, and hadn’t a clue what they were speaking about.
Sheyan chuckled and replied.
“Still remember you were uselessly paralyzed by a venom? That venom is secreted out by a type of creature, known as the Mutated Arachnidacrab. Its main effect is paralyzing and subsequently dissolving their enemy’s flesh. Furthermore, it is slow to take effect, with the objective of allowing the victim’s system to continue sustaining life; thereby ensuring the freshness of their prey. One of Reef’s servant was similarly poisoned, and fortunately with the slow potency nature of the venom, he was transferred with Reef back to the realm for treatment.”
When he spoke till here, Sheyan had roughly affirmed his own conjecture and spoke with greater conviction.
“By the looks of it, that servant must’ve similarly been associated with the Ndipaya tribe. Possibly, one with excellent potential of avatism like Mbenga and the old chief, except that it wasn’t explicitly displayed yet….therefore, the best scenario is, Reef may have acquired someone comparable to an intelligent Licker as his servant!”
As he spectated Sheyan’s and Mogensha’s expectant gazes, Reef shrugged his shoulders and replied.
“Honestly speaking….I’m not too sure myself. That fella is merely a cocoon in my personal room. There isn’t a single change in his appearance. Except initially, I needed to spent utility points, potential points and even achievement points to restore this servant’s body, or should I say, renourish him. I’ve never felt so wasteful before, squandering so much capital…..oh right, If I lack money, you guys must please, come to my aid.”
While chatting, the trio suddenly noticed clear glows congealing across the bodies of the two deceased unlucky brats. Soon, a ring and an accessory projected out and hovered above the heads of the trio before slowly vanishing away.
In the midst of their confusion, their nightmare imprints transmitted the following notifications.
[ Slayer rewards drawn……released to all participating contestants ]
[ Please check your own harvests ]
Sheyan thought pensively upon experiencing this new rewarding method.
“This is a very new and original allocating method. Although mentioned as releasing to everyone, it merely distributes the equipments acquired. Therefore, if a lucky brat who acquires the equipment and decides to keep it hidden in the dark, it would be too easy to do so!”
“The benefits of this, is that all participating battle members receives a chance of acquiring the loot. Like support type contestants, long distance gunners, mage type contestants…..they wouldn’t have to worry about the dropped keys being looted by others. On the contrary, it would lead to individuals selfishly slacking off while receiving the big bonuses…”
“So, when is this allocation method best suited for? Yes, those massive scale wars like the Avatar World!! Where the slightest distraction can lead to one’s demise on the battlefield of torrential hails of bullets and spells! Seems like we’ve unknowingly initiated this model eh?”
In this instant, Brother Black exclaimed.
“I received the accessory!”
Sheyan then checked his personal storage and declared.
“Oh, I got the ring, but it’s just a dark-blue grade.”
Following that, they displayed the two equipments out.

[ Warning: If you become infatuated and flog yourself excessively, it might lead to your personal demise as well ]
[ Description: Boundaries are blurred between pain and pleasure. To certain individuals or creatures, this whip is equivalent to a pleasure artifact. But to others, this whip should belong in the lowest rung of the underworld ]
Without a doubt, the ring was claimed by Mogensha. Though it seemed rather strange and nefarious, if the negative effects truly became ridiculously thorny, he could still offer it to old man Odin to upgrade his ‘Flesh Explosion’ ability.
As for that accessory brimming with debauchery, or frankly speaking, just a whip, it was claimed by Reef. With a righteous tone, he declared.
“I will use holy light to redeem this depraved weapon.”
Actually, both Reef and Brother Black held abilities to summon cannon fodder creatures. It was a pretty excellent idea for Reef to ‘abuse’ a single sage-scarab, and thereby enhancing his other summoned scarabs.
However, one could observe that Brother Black’s thick lips, beneath his puffing cigar, and curled into a sinister smirk. It wasn’t hard to decipher what sort of vulgar ideas he had in his heart……probably an image of a scarlet eyed Reef, puffing and huffing, as he ruthlessly flogs the perky bottoms of a voluptuous woman.
Up till now, the trio hadn’t received a single report regarding this world, or even the method to return to the nightmare realm. This was probably due to the side effects of utilizing a ‘Space-time Wormhole’ to invade a world.
After contemplating a little, they decided to locate any storyline residence to inquire. Naturally, the Hummers that fetched Joseph and Kaoyi here, would make the perfect transportation tool.
However, just when the trio was nearing the Hummers, sounds of crashes abruptly echoed in from a distance.
Not even ten seconds later, the glass window panel of a nearby KFC was shattered into smithereens!Chapter 687: Deinonychus

Amidst the chaotic scattering of glass shards, a light green dinosaur of roughly 1 metre height and 1.5 metre length collapsed onto the ground, 5-6 metres right ahead of the contestants, with a thunderous ‘thump’!
The ground tremored briefly, revealing that its weight was heftier than it looked.
The mouth of this light green dinosaur was slightly hooked downwards like that of a vulture, looking short and weak. From the way it effortlessly smashed through the KFC window, one understood that its might was actually exceedingly astronomical, and its skin equally tough.
Initially, it looked like an ostrich with its atrophy front limbs and disarrayed bloodied fur. Instead, the thick and solid rear legs were more developed than matured kangaroos, and as its legs overlapped while leaping forward, it appeared as though it was flying; like a hybrid between an ostrich and kangaroo!
All of a sudden, the light green dinosaur fixated its glare onto the trio and unleashed a piercing screech with its stretched opened jaws! Behind its blood reeking teeth, its throat squirmed with insatiable thirst.
Its roaring screech exhibited its savage and ruthless nature vividly, and though its mouth looked small, it could widen excessively due to its specially developed cheekbones. Its mouth was filled with razor-sharp knife like teeth, where a layer of sawtooth spikes occupied the frontal periphery of its teeth.
This fully indicated that it could tear through any hunted prey, before devouring large chunks of flesh. One didn’t have to elaborate further on its destructive strength.
When its roaring screech echoed out, trampling sounds of glass shattering and smashing aside vehicles resounded from all corners of the place. Evidently, its comrades were swiftly circling in.
Sheyan immediately calmly commanded.
“We’ll break up! See that citibank building on the left? You guys head over at once and familiarize yourselves with the area. The construction standards of banks should be tougher than usual and wouldn’t collapse so easily! We’ll be in deep shit once these idiots commence their assault!”
Sheyan glanced towards the sky while ordering. Although the weather was gloomy, it was still two in the afternoon and visibility remained relatively clear.
Instantly, several bulging cyan veins sprouted out from Sheyan’s chest. Like plant roots, those veins curled around his body, and even caused all the veins beneath his skin to turn prominently cyan!
Simultaneously, a regiment of dull vomit green mist shockingly fumigated out from his body. The mist appeared extremely strange, as though a plant was incessantly pollinating and out pollens into the atmosphere. Though the pollens appeared rather light, it lingered in the air without dispersing for a long time!
Even more queer, when the murky green mist of pollens contacted surrounding vehicle wreckages or rubble, faint sounds of sizzling could be heard. Soon after, the wreckages and rubble emitted foul smelling corroding bubbles, as though sulfuring acid had been sprayed onto them.
Sheyan’s lips curled into a sinister smirk.
“Be the first consecration of my body’s ‘Stairway of the Sun’! ‘Corrosynthesis’ activate!”
By now, Reef and Mogensha were barreling towards the nearby citibank building with breakneck pace. From Sheyan’s calm demeanor, they knew he inevitably had a plan.
Moreover, based on their sheer quantities, the offensive capabilities of those dinosaurs definitely wouldn’t be that lethal. With Sheyan’s innate ability that could forcibly reduce damage by 40 points, he definitely had more options in dealing with the edge of the blade.
The citibank building had comparatively lesser entrances that other buildings, thereby allowing them to concentrate firepower towards a specific direction. Brother Black would then be able to display gunfire superiority, and be more at ease when assailing enemies.
Concurrently when Sheyan activated his ‘Corrosynthesis’ ability, that first dinosaur began stampeding towards Reef and Mogensha.
(TL: Refresher on ability: Corrosynthesis – corroding gas will discharge from your mouth, nose and pores; dealing 10 – 50 constant damages to enemies in a 5 metres radius [regardless of any damage reduction, minimal constant damage pegged to 5 true damage])
With its short but explosive legs, the dinosaur charged in with frightening acceleration. Except, with Sheyan break off from Reef and Mogensha, why would he allow the dinosaur to pass through so easily? Stomping forth comfortably, Sheyan raised his hands in resistance.
That dinosaur roared furiously as it chomped down viciously towards Sheyan’s right arm. Simultaneously, both its robust front limbs fiercely swiped at Sheyan’s belly like a cat. At the tip of those limbs, were three incomparably incisive and elongated curved claws.
Those elongated claws initially appeared analogous to wolverine claws, and in unison with its incredibly explosive muscles, it could effortlessly slice apart the enemy’s abdomen.
This was one of the greatest headaches of the dinosaur race – the Deinonychus.
Roaming about in packs, these Deinonychus possessed adequate killing potency with their impressively sharp claws, and small but nimble bodies. To a colossal carnivorous dinosaur, the flesh from killing a single Deinonychus wouldn’t even be sufficient to be meat stuck in between teeth. On the contrary, these pesky Deinonychus would lacerate them annoyingly with their sharp claws, and when a frenzied legion of Deinonychus starts to swarm, even a Tyrannosaurus would retreat. One could simply imagine their dreadfulness!
The Deinonychus chomped down onto Sheyan’s arm and tore into his flesh. If it was an ordinary person, it wouldn’t be simply having a chunk of flesh being torn off. Instead, flesh would be dismembered and the wounds fatal.
Instead, Sheyan swiftly clenched his fist and contracted his muscles. When the Deinonychus drilled its teeth into his flesh, it felt as though it had just bit on rubber; meeting with impassable resistance after merely sinking a centimetre deep. In contrast, its ripping motion caused a few of its teeth to twist and drop off.
Nevertheless, the Deinoncychus’s twin forelimbs were lethal as they cleaved down from his belly. Sheyan didn’t dare to experience the feeling of having his eggs sliced and quickly retreated half a step, while the incisive claws carved out two deep and bloodied wounds.
“The Deinonychus’ claws possesses the defence negating property and managed to deal 70 points of theoretical damage to me. Fortunately, my innate ability can suppress it. Reef, you must be careful.”
Sheyan hastily reported his first hand analysis at once.
“Excluding that, the power of its bite is rather limited. If it’s truly impossible to defend, let it bite you instead of clawing you.”
At present, Sheyan’s and Mogensha’s probing abilities were becoming increasingly limited. This was mainly due to them entering a world where Growth-Hunters had also entered, where the difficulty could be described as a realm higher than their expected prowess. Such pressure was incredibly astounding, and Sheyan could only resort to such methods to accumulate intelligence on the capabilities of creatures in this world.
Since this Deinonychus had lost its value, Sheyan no longer acted cordially. Coincidentally, his ‘Zergling Rush’ ability had been activated, and Sheyan hacked forth with his long saber!
Although the Deinonychus of this world were meant to go against Growth-Hunters, Sheyan’s ‘+7 West’ long saber was an exceptionally outstanding weapon. In addition to various boosts to his damage through formidable abilities like his ‘Flesh Explosion’ ability, after ‘+7 West’ had completed his three strike routine, the Deinonychus was squealing agonizingly. Blood gushed out from its hacked wounds as it tumbled and rolled consecutively; where its tail had been semi-chopped through.
Yet at this moment, the distant trampling sounds pressed in like showering raindrops, and a piercing fishy stench pervaded the atmosphere. Several other Deinonychus finally arrived, and upon seeing their wounded comrade, their eyes geared up for slaughter and turned crimson red. Their muscles swelled up excessively from their skin, and contracted with explosive ferocity. The swelling blood vessels circulating through their muscles impressed a insurmountable might of carnal.
When they saw blood, these dinosaurs became ludicrously bloodlusted!
Sheyan didn’t dare to be reckless. After all, the stomping claws of these Deinonychus were adequately substantial. When they scurried near him, Sheyan instantly hurled out a flask of ‘Stinkbug Curse-mix’ which was specially used to delay opponents.
A powerful shockwave blasted through and halted those Deinonychus in their tracks. A dark violet mist permeated out and seeped deep into the skin of these Deinonychus, causing their mobility to distinctly plunge.
Seizing this chance, Sheyan turned and fled towards the citibank building.
Yet how would those Deinonychus simply abandon their meal? Naturally, they pursued. But after having their speeds forcibly plunged by 30%, and after Sheyan drank a mouthful of ‘Endless Spirited Vodka’, he obviously fled with speedy ease.
By the time those Deinonychus escaped the toxic fumigation, Reef had charged up in response and unleashed his ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’!
The world’s difficulty was relatively normal to this Growth-Hunter, hence, those Deinonychus couldn’t escape from the fetters of this ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’ and could only hobble in pursuit.
Only after Sheyan and Reef finally fled into the bank, did those pursuing monsters regained their usual movement speed and chased with utmost fury.
At present, Reef and Sheyan each guarded the intersecting entrance of the bank, while Brother Black had located sufficient cover for himself.
Therefore, with Reef guarding the main entrance of the bank and Sheyan providing him with MT assistance, an occurrence of two men guarding a pass where thousands cannot pass occurred.
No doubt, those Deinonychus remained terrifyingly deadly as they launched assaults without fear of getting injured.
Yet in no time, Reef had assembled his full squad of five sage-scarabs with his shield, while Mogensha’s twin viperwolves were pouncing around with brutal ferocity.
Concurrently, Reef was consistently flogging sage-scarabs with his whip, to induce the benefits for summoned creatures.
Meanwhile, Sheyan’s vile ‘Corrosynthesis’ ability remained constantly dealing toxin area of effect damages….Chapter 688: Modified……world!

Battered down by a wave of assaults, the first Deinonychus was slayed after releasing an anguished roar. The manner of its demise was extremely pitiful.
Numerous bloodied and mangled holes were corroded throughout its body by the vile toxins of the ‘Corrosynthesis’ ability. Patches of green fur remained disheveled alongside those bloodied holes, as though it had died for a long while and fungus had started growing on it.
The other Deinonychus then demonstrated appalling cruelty, as they lunged forward and shredded their comrade’s carcass as food.
Sheyan continued observing the development of this battle as he fought, and after killing off another two Deinonychus, he calmly ordered.
“Retreat to the second line of defence, I’ll cover the front.”
While speaking, Sheyan smashed a ‘Bear’s strength’ curse-mix, simultaneously stunning his opponents and lowering their strength.
As the dull greenish fog spreaded out, Reef immediately retreated after unleashing a ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’. Concurrently, he hurriedly used a bandage to restore some of his HP.
Seizing this chance, the trio slowly retreated deeper into the bank. The bank’s back trading hall and front counter area was separated by an isolating bullet-proof glass. Still, there was a sliding entrance door and passageway connecting them, where the trio utilized it as their second line of defence.
This entrance was extremely narrow, where one person would be enough to block off access. After slaying another four Deinonychus by exploiting the narrowness of the entrance, Sheyan withdrew to rest.
Meanwhile, Reef had finished recovering to full strength with medicine and replaced him. Concurrently, the dinosaurs outside weren’t idling and queuing up for their turn either, but rampaged around looking to break in from another point of access.
Yet when their search yielded no fruits, they charged crazily in succession and slammed against the isolating bullet-proof glass; using their incisive claws to scratch frantically at it.
Amidst the terrifying roars, cracks emerged throughout the glass as ceiling dust rained down from above! As the chaotic sounds clashed together, eardrums were shook to the brink of utmost pain.
Not too long later, the isolating bullet-proof appeared to be on the verge of shattering.
In this instant, Brother Black abruptly released a piercing warning whistle. A grenade launcher extension, the size of a flashlight, had been equipped onto his golden AK. Then, a rifle grenade jetted out with a trail of spiralling fumes, flying above the glass, and landed in the middle of the enraged dinosaurs that were slamming against the glass.
Boom! It exploded sonorously! Exploding the dinosaurs into mutilated flesh that scattered in all directions. As it turns out, while idling in the realm, Brother Black had seemingly acquired certain benefits which quietly upgraded his battle capabilities.
The Deinonychus were creatures that moved in packs. With their impressive agility and numbers advantage, yet still possessing pretty adequate offensive might, then without a doubt, their defence were shockingly low and their health a great disadvantage. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be considered as mere ordinary creatures in this world.
During this period of bombardment, Reef and Sheyan slew another three of the Deinonychus. However, the bullet-proof glass was already filled with innumerable cobweb like cracks.
Just when the trio were about to retreat into the bank’s internal treasury, a shrilling roar thundered in from outside. When those Deinonychus heard that roar, they unexpectedly retreated back like a receding tide!
Sheyan instantly perceived that these dinosaurs possessed substantial intellect which probably exceeded his initial expectation. Once their pack suffered damages that surpassed a threshold, they wouldn’t hesitate to call for a retreat.
Sheyan immediately activated ‘Horn-Rage’ towards the a retreating Deinonychus. After colliding against it, he quickly dove to block off the bank’s main entrance and hurled out a ‘Stinkbug’ curse-mix to impede a flock of 7-8 retreating Deinonychus. These 7-8 dinosaurs had already suffered grave injuries previously, and with Sheyan and Reef blocking them off while Mogensha volleyed bullets in from behind, only three managed to escape the evil clutches of Party Ace in the end.
In this battle alone, they estimatedly slaughtered a total of 23 Deinonychus, and to a Deinonychus pack that normally wouldn’t exceed 30 in numbers, it could be said as a massive defeat.
Strangely, these dinosaurs didn’t drop a single key, but instead dropped six objects known as – [ Tiny Dinocrystal ]. They were the same crystals that Joseph and Kaoyi extracted previously, and their usefulness remained unknown to the trio.
When Sheyan examined a ‘Tiny Dinocrystal’, he immediately received a list of notification.
[ Tiny Silicate Magnesium Energy Crystal ]
[ Description: A solidified substance found inside a dinosaur’s body, analogous to items like a bezoar or the stones of a dog’s bladder. Through research discoveries, these dinocrystals are found to contain a mystical substance, which special properties can be harvested through modular liquid-liquid extraction capabilities. A single dinocrystal of energy is equivalent to 1,000 barrels of petroleum, where all manufacturing cost can be neglected ]
[ You can exchange this crystal with any governmental official or private agencies in exchange for wonderful rewards – an ample briefcase of cash, sexy perky assed girls, Miami beach lands….oh woah, one can simply imagine the pleasurable indulgence with sufficient dinocrystals ]
“Seems like a token eh? But where should it be exchanged at? Sheyan mused to himself.
Consecutively, a dull radiance emanated from the trio where their nightmare imprint transmitted a list of notifications.
[ Party Ace has entered this world through a ‘Space-Time Wormhole’….. ]
[ Contestants have already interacted with this world, resulting in a butterfly effect upon the mechanism and environment of this world ]
[ Assimilating Party Ace into this world, importing data……please wait ]
[ Initializing matching of data….. ]
[ Data matched ]
[ World identified. Assimilating Party Ace with this world… ]
[ Entering world… ]
[ Seventy million years ago, a mosquito was unfortunately fossilized in amber ]
[ Contained within the mosquito’s belly, was shockingly a drop of dinosaur blood from its recent feast ]
[ With the assistance of avant garde biotechnology, the drop of blood gave rise to countless possibilities. Once again, the hegemons of eons past have resurfaced on planet Earth! ]
[ Soon, the island for dinosaur research encountered repeated mysterious invasions ]
[ The survivability and reproduction capabilities of the dinosaurs were mysteriously enhanced. Soon, dinosaurs appeared in coastal urbanized cities and begun propagating….. ]
[ With the appearance of mysterious crystals, governments were stricken with wild ecstasy. With greedy and corrupted politicians working in the shadows…henceforth, the catastrophe of dinosaurs commenced… ]
[ Ah, the Jurassic has now once again overtaken the world! ]
After browsing through the notifications, Sheyan immediately realized that it was very likely the storyline of this world had been widely modified.
Originally, it should be Jurassic Park, with the storyline revolving around the dinosaur island. However, with extensive involvement by the Symbiosis Sect or Illume-union, the storyline had been greatly modified!
Possibly, they first altered and enhanced the genetics of the dinosaurs, for which they probably used genetic modification tools like viruses of the Resident Evil world, or other variations from worlds like Anaconda, blood orchid etc. Then, an event occurred that helped the dinosaurs reach and propagate within coastal cities.
Following that, to prevent governments from relying on weapons of mass destruction, they managed to modify the genes or researched the formation of such dinocrystals in the dinosaur’s bodies. Thus, the dinosaurs became exceedingly profitable, forcing the governments to rely on milder firearm tactics to hunt down the dinosaurs. Hence, such a queer equilibrium had formed.
Sheyan’s suspicion definitely wasn’t mere baseless conjecture. The most basic proof of this, would be Fanu’s exceptionally daunting Stegosaurus!
Through the notifications, Sheyan faintly managed to grasp some information. Looking in perspective, Fanu’s dinosaur was probably at least a tier-2 or tier-3 legendary creature existence. Even for a Growth-Hunter to tame a legendary creature, the chances would be close to zero.
Therefore, the only explanation would be Sheyan’s aforementioned speculation. Frankly speaking, Sheyan truly admired the Symbiosis sect for coming up with such a method. They actually envisioned to modify an entire world to achieve their goals and ambitions! Such astute scheming to tremendous impact the grand scale of affairs, truthfully speaking, even Sheyan felt rather ashamed and inferior.
At this moment, a list of notification projected out.
[ Silver Prestige Party Ace, welcome to this nightmare world ]

“So that’s the case.” The trio was fully enlightened after glossing through the notifications. Previously, they still felt a fog of mystery enshrouding them, but everything had now been clarified.
Reef thoughtfully suggested.
“If that’s the case, then once Zi completes her mission, she’ll be able to leave this world and we can depart as well? But that’s a given, once she leaves, we have no choice but to leave too.”
Sheyan nodded and responded.
“You’re correct. Therefore, converging with her is our top priority. I remember hearing that Joseph and Kaoyi mentioning this – if they cannot complete their mission to purge, they’ll have to risk venturing deeper into the danger zone.”
When Mogensha heard Sheyan’s words, his eyes flickered and exclaimed.
“You’re implying that most likely, Zi would be heading to that danger zone as well?”
Sheyan nodded and continued.
“Indeed. Base on her current circumstances, Zi probably would rather die in the hands of beasts than in the hands of Zeus. Maybe, she’s even leveraging on certain storyline characters for backing. However, everything we have now is merely conjectures, and the truth may be utterly different. If I was in Zi’s shoes, I would definitely be fleeing by the coastal region…..anyway, we are sorely lacking in information, let’s gather some information before proceeding.”
Moments later, Mogensha casually located their ride and ignited the engine. The trio then boarded the car.
“Where should we head to now?” Reef turned to inquire of Sheyan.
Sheyan pondered a little and replied.
“In my perspective, the island for dinosaur research, Jurassic Park, should be the deadliest. But, their only prey there would be their own dinosaur species. Therefore, I can deduce that this danger zone that Joseph and Kaoyi is referring to, ought to be the coastal region where the dinosaurs first came ashore, or brought ashore.”
“Our goal isn’t to clash with the dinosaurs but to locate Zi’s whereabouts. Thus…..we naturally must return to human society! Drawing the support of the nation’s satellite technologies or what not, and inquire of Zi’s location. We need first hand information!”
Brother Black doubtfully asked.
“Man, wouldn’t the country be focusing their efforts on those damned dinosaurs eh? I reckon even the ruckus we just created would virtually go unnoticed by their satellite surveillance system. Wouldn’t chances of locating Zi be similarly pathetic?”
Sheyan chuckled and raised a finger while explaining.
“Your first mistake is associating our current circumstance with Zi’s. You’re not wrong, this is the first time we’re entering this world, and the country would naturally ignore us. Yet you mustn’t forget, this isn’t the first time Zi and the rest have entered this ghost land….”
“Just think about chaos the Symbiosis Sect incited; infiltrating Jurassic Park, modifying dinosaur genes, and even upsurging a calamity of dinosaurs by freeing them!!!”
“This isn’t something that can be accomplished with merely one or two experiences in this world. At the very least, it scales to a degree of three worlds. Therefore, do you think that under such conditions, the government would be recklessly ignoring them?”
“Next, your second mistake lies in associating our battle capabilities with theirs. We’ve already witnessed both Zi and Prince Stalo battling before, but they were obviously holding back. With their prowess of touching the basic scale of elemental halos, attempting to mask their appearances or identity would be futile. Once the ripples of such unique and formidable abilities surfaces, they would inevitably be recognized.”
“Just think about Jiajue Tongxie*, his PK value is merely 4 points but millions can recognize even the color of his soles. Whereas Zi probably carries the terrifying PK value status of the likes of authors like Sanshao, Ergen, Tudou and others. Therefore, I dare to confirm that as long as we pull some tricks with the local authorities or perhaps even the FBI, we’ll definitely acquire detailed reports on Zi and the rest. In the best scenario, we may even obtain her coordinates through their satellite system.”
(TL:*I tried researching for this reference but can’t seem to find it, but I think it refers to an author’s name, like the other names.)
Brother Black shrugged his shoulders and spat out his cigar before helplessly replying.
“Boss, I regret asking you that question. Why is it that everytime I finish listening to your analysis, I find it so simple yet I just can’t think of it until you explain it out?”
Sheyan smiled and leapt down from the car. Then, he gazed towards a nearby towering skyscraper, whose interior exhibited chaotic disarray but elevator lights were still lighted up.
After marching over and kicking open a spoilt automatic glass sliding door, Sheyan took the elevator up to the highest floor.
Moments later, he returned and boarded the car before instructing Reef.
“Let’s head west. Oh right, remember to change your dressing to fit in with the locals.”
Following that, Reef stepped onto the gas pedal as the car accelerated towards the west.
Two hours later, a vehicle pulled up by a street. Noteworthily, due to the chaotic traffic congestion along the way, this was the fourth time the trio were swapping vehicles.
Vividly ahead, the fiery sun was gradually submerging. The clouds had seemingly evaporated into oblivion by the scorching sun. An enormous ferris wheel rotated unhurriedly, and with the absence of wind, two pillars of smoke wafted towards the sky; seemingly flocculating for all eternity.
A double-decker bus had collapsed horizontally in front. Behind its charred vehicular frame, 23 other vehicles were congested in a mess. Thus, Sheyan could only resort to walking for this stretch.
40 plus metres ahead of Party Ace’s trio, was stretches of luxuriant trees before a pair of imposingly dignified steel gates were erected. There was even a clear brook encircling the place. By the lateral side of those gates, stood a monument inscribing the words ‘Griffith Park’.
Astoundingly, the words ‘Griffith Park’ were soaked in fresh blood! It appeared as though blood had been explosively splattered across, but the stains had already dried into prune colored clumps. Still, the visual effect painted a depiction of gorgeous, bare desperation.
However, not a single corpse was in sight.
Not even the remnants of severed limbs.
Mogensha possessed exceptional instincts in dissecting battle scenes. After all, he grew up in such environments and fought since the age of 10, he couldn’t not be proficient in this.
Mogensha surveyed the surroundings and trudged to a nearby large tree before examining it carefully. Then, he thrusted his hand towards the tree and slowly retracted it. Initially, he hand was empty, but now, a throwing knife was shockingly clasped between two fingers.
This throwing knife was roughly 30 cm long and its craftsmanship was fairly crude, without even a blood groove. The shaft revealed a skull imprint and its blade was exceptionally sharp. The sharpened blade edge shimmered with a tinge of metallic blue under the glaring sunlight.
Strangely, the tip of the throwing knife showed signs of melting. Upon closer inspection, a fingernail sized rhombus chip was lodged in the middle, with a layer of solid frost enveloping around it.
The individuals of Party Ace were all figures who had fought along the edge of life and death. Naturally, they could tell this crudely crafted throwing knife indicated an underlying threat.
The absence of a blood groove implied that without retracting the throwing knife after stabbing, blood wouldn’t be able to stream out of the wound. Instead, the blood would accumulate internally, possibly in one’s abdominal or thoracic cavity, which would bring about immense complications during treatment later on.
An assassination dagger coated with frost. Such a lethal weapon bluntly suggested a dual special combatant who excelled in agility and magic intelligence!
Moreover, the leaves around that stabbed area similarly showed clear signs of withering, evidently indicating the ominous deadliness of this throwing knife coated with frosty metallic brilliance. Even a large tree couldn’t withstand such concentrated venom, one could simply imagine the consequences of this throwing knife thrusting into a human body!
All of a sudden, a few individuals marched out from shops on both sides of the street, and surrounded the trio in the middle.
The leader of this group had a callous pair of bloodshot eyes, resembling a wild beast rapaciously eyeing its prey.
Above his blue skin tight pants, the high waisted leather jacket he wore exhibited a white skull insignia at the back. He appeared tall and skinny with a combed back mohawk. The left side of his mohawk was dyed golden yellow and the right side red. Strapped at his waist, was a leather scabbard.
Sheyan’s pupils faintly contracted as he observed the weapon this male was brandishing……twin throwing knives….as for the model, length and luster of those twin throwing knives, they were perfectly identical to that lethal throwing knife Mogensha had discovered earlier!
White frosty mist swivelled round his hands, causing the outline of his fingers to turn fuzzy. Vaguely seen through the gathering mist, his fingers appeared to be trembling incessantly.
Initially, the mist resembled an ice box being opened during summer; rolling and churning up before dispersing into the atmosphere. Yet upon close inspection, seemingly possessing sentience, the floating mist revealed a wiggling rotating pattern. If one listened carefully, one would be able to hear the crackling sounds of icicles clashing and shattering.
An impasse.
The fervent rays of the setting sun shone down, causing the trio to feel a scorching tingle on their skins. Perspiration rolled down their foreheads and their breathing turned heavier.
There was an unwritten rule amongst contestants. Unless one’s might overbearingly surpasses his foe, it would be impossible to rival the multitudes with a handful.
Furthermore, the members of Party Ace possessed incredibly abundant combat experience. They knew that fighting in such a spacious and empty space with enemies who held the superiority in numbers, would lead to tragic disaster. What more when, among the enemy was an enigmatic throwing knives expert?Chapter 690: Bitter fighting

Without a doubt, the trio was trapped in an impasse; a deadly situation.
Very likely, their opponents had anticipated that others would pass through here, and had stationed themselves here for a period of time already. The clear proof of other battles between them and dinosaurs, or them and other contestants, was the throwing knife that Mogensha discovered.
Therefore, this was a flawlessly planned ambush.
Recognizing that, Mogensha and Sheyan immediately jumped aside, each to the left and right, without a sound. It appeared as though a terrifying aviation bomb had landed between them, and they were blasted aside by immense detonation force.
Such was the abruptness of their movement, they didn’t grant even a single second of buffer time for their opponents. Nevertheless, the flying-knives expert immediately hurled out a single flying knife with great indifference. Though his action seemed rather lackadaisical, the knife soared with utmost speed; transforming into a chilling beam as it shot towards Sheyan’s head!
Seeing the speed of his casually thrown incoming flying knife, Sheyan wasn’t able to dodge in
Fortunately, during the process of darting away, Mogensha had twisted his body round and opened fire in midair. Fiery tongues volleyed out of his golden AK, as three burst shots struck against that flying knife.
Pang! A muffled clink echoed as the knife deviated from its intended target, and eventually lodged into a lateral tree.
Then, the remaining four opponents barreled forward without hesitation nor emotions. Their movements were swift and soundless; like famished wild wolves scuttling through the snow for food. They segregated into two directions, as they charged to surround both Reef and Sheyan.
Seeing that his flying knife had missed, this strange knifeman with bloodshot eyes pulled out another incisive flying knife. Following that, he licked the knife’s blade with his maroon tongue. Blood streamed down from the corner of his lips, but was greedily lapped by his long and pointy tongue.
“Fools who dare to touch my people? Since you broke the pact first, then the contract between Zeus and us is hereby nullified……hmph, I, Drizzt, delights in hearing the sounds of my enemy’s soul and blood freezing up!”
During the instance of encountering a surprise enemy, Sheyan’s heart instantly sank but his mind remained additionally composed! Evidently, this Drizzt guy came specifically for them! His intentions were simply, undoubtedly, it was to seek vengeance for his fallen subordinates.
“Therefore, this brat is clearly aware that Kaoyi and Joseph were slain by us three. Since they dare to outrightly seek revenge, they naturally have confidence in victory!”
Sheyan had originally saved the four achievement points he recently acquired. However now, he immediately invested them into his virus ability ‘Influenza’ without hesitation.
Even raising his battle capabilities by half a point could turn the tides of war!
When his ‘Influenza’ ability previously reached level 4, the amount of achievement points required similarly rose to 4 points. Even with 50% discounting due to his ‘Stairway of the Sun’ virus system, he only managed to upgrade the ‘Influenza’ ability to level 6. Hence, following the trend of 2% increase in each level, the chances of negative buffs of sneezing, shivering and headaches rose from 11% to 15%.
After accomplish this deed, Sheyan’s thoughts continued jolting through his mind.
“If the enemy is deployed in this manner, then, our top priority is to do this…..”
Sheyan extended out both hands, and atop one of his palm, was the dazzling radiance of a golden pearl! Within a split second, the radiance enveloped Sheyan’s body!
Indeed, this was the active ability of the ‘Gold Pearl of the Caribbean Sea’ – ‘Pearliate’.
Upon activating this equipment, the radiance of the ‘Gold Pearl of the Caribbean Sea’ became imbued onto him; propelling his pure perceptive sense to double. Still, any relevant effects from his perceptive sense reaching a certain threshold wouldn’t be triggered!
Sheyan’s current perceptive points were already ‘23+9’ points! After employing the ‘Goldpearl of the Caribbean Sea’, his perceptive sense broke through and reached 55 points! Even so, it wouldn’t trigger the boundary threshold breakthrough, causing him to become a perceptive sense specialized Growth-Hunter.
While the golden radiance enveloped Sheyan, Reef concurrently unleashed a ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’. To his astonishment, though his ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’ still dealt damages, the negative effects failed to affect the surrounding foes. Their foes remained pressing in with sly sneers on their faces. Not a single notification of resistance even appeared in their battle logs.
But at this instant, Sheyan erupted forth!
A blinding brilliance flickered on his finger as he directly activated ‘Horn-Rage’! Simultaneously, a vomit colored greenish mist dissipated out from him, indicated clearly that his ‘Corrosynthesis’ ability had been activated!
Yet peculiarly, Sheyan’s stampeding direction wasn’t aiming for anyone. From his speeding trajectory, he first charged past a building before smashing against a Chrysler SUV!
After ruthlessly smashing into the hood of the SUV, he exploded forth with his soaring 49 points of strength; sending the SUV rolling for several rounds. Rumbling sounds reverberated, as dust and glass shards scattered in all directions.
In spite of that, Sheyan’s target wasn’t that SUV. Instead, it was a plain garbage bin behind the SUV. When he collided against the dark blue garbage bin, a weird shriek pierced out before a layer of distorted space appeared on the surface of the garbage bin. The closest example would be mirage distortions due to heatwave in a desert, causing misjudgements in one’s optic nerves!
Stunned by Sheyan’s ‘Horn-Rage’, the figure of an individual slowly surfaced.
Meanwhile, at the exact point of Sheyan’s collision, the few opponents surrounding Reef and Mogensha suddenly evaporated into thin air.
Instantaneously, the four opponents appeared 4-5 metres away, and from the postures of their movements, one could observe that their speed had been widely reduced. This meant that in reality, they were affected by Reef’s ability. But of course, with Reef’s current indomitable prowess, even peak Growth-Hunters like Prince Stalo or Zi, would find it hard to negate the effects of his ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’.
Therefore, the image of them not being affected earlier, was purely an illusion! An illusion that affected one’s optic nerves!
The memory of the killing combination of those Reserve-duty Growth-Hunters, Lille and Uzel, was still distinct in Sheyan’s memory. An assassin supplemented with unparalleled illusions, they had inflicted great distress and sufficient troubles to the trio.
Due to that battle, Sheyan had been constantly plotting and eventually concluded many things. Hence, he had always been wary of encountering the same situation.
The speed and intensity of these ambushing opponents was already out of his expectations. Furthermore, the fact that they could noiselessly surround them, as though easily placing the trio into a boiling part, signified one fact.
“The opponent definitely has an incredibly formidable perceptive sense Growth-Hunter. One that could cause us to walk into an ambush without warning!”
“Furthermore, the fact that our data statistics aren’t misled, but merely our senses are affected, indicates that this Growth-Hunter didn’t break through primarily with perceptive sense. Hence, there isn’t much suppression, and perceptive sense is merely his secondary attribute!”
Therefore, immediately after the battle commenced, Sheyan determined that he must locate this powerful perceptive sense opponent.
Following his activation of the ‘Goldpearl of the Caribbean Sea’, the massive boost in his perceptive sense immediately allowed him to sense not one, but two individuals hiding in the shadows!
One of which was probably a gunman, and was occupying a high vantage point.
Instead, the other was merely hiding a block away, behind a vehicle! Yet when Sheyan shifted his gaze there, he saw no one but a single garbage bin through the car’s window. If he encountered this scenario for the first time, he would be scrambling around at a loss. But now that he had experienced Uzel and Lille, he naturally knew how to react!
As for that hiding individual, he was likely an illusion master with high perceptive sense! With his impressive perceptive sense, most individuals wouldn’t be able to detect his existence, while his illusions could greatly disrupt his foes and provide tremendous assistance in the battlefield.
Yet for such a contestant build, he would be equally weak; if Sheyan didn’t aim to kill him first, then who would he hit first?
Witnessing Sheyan launching such an out of the blue offensive, the countenance of the flying-knife expert, Drizzt, changed drastically. A glaring glow radiated from the nightmare imprint over his brows, before hurling two frosted flying knives at Sheyan!
Concurrently, almost half of the squad assaulting Mogensha and Reef similarly round, and directed their assaults at Sheyan instead.
Boom! A thunderous, soul rendering gunshot resounded. That was the gunshot of a powerful sniper rifle!
One could sense that a terrifying bullet that could conquer all strongholds was incoming. Small explosions incessantly erupted in the air wherever that bullet passed through. It was as imposing as a giant dragon clawing through the vast sky!
This bullet, was similarly heading for Sheyan!
In a split second, four different attacks were targeting straight for Sheyan!
Brother Black pressed his trigger tightly, so tight that his finger webbing turned pale. Fiery streaks of bullets blasted out and landed against the flying frosted knives.
Dang! Dang! Dang! Blunt sounds emerged! To his horror, that flying knife was undeterred, and merely slanted a little, before puncturing through another nearby vehicle!Chapter 691: Death….connector!

Sheyan was being bombarded!
Fortunately at the nick of time, Reef’s nightmare imprint flickered with dazzling brilliance as he stretched out his arm. Instantly, a semi-transparent golden armour appeared above Sheyan’s head, and revolved down onto his body.
Faith-guard!
In the next second, two flying frost knives, a sniping bullet and two other long range assaults struck Sheyan, causing him to stumble forward. The ‘Faith-guard’ enshrouding Sheyan instantly shattered, as golden glitters showered in all directions.
Even with the protection of the 40% realm regulation and his impregnable innate ‘Stronghold’, Sheyan was still grievously injured. His health points radically dipped by half.
The sniper bullet had blasted opened a humongously hideous mangled wound on his back. The twin flying frost knives stabbed deep into his back, and dealt massive damage over time. Smoky fumes spiralled out from his body, as his whole body was charred black.
Yet simultaneously under the torrents of assaults, an electrifying blue jolted through his body. ‘Zergling Rush’ had been activated! He frantically smashed a strength curse-mix, as moss greenish toxic fumes dispersed out and further weakened the illusion master. Moreover, the fumes similarly acted as a cover, making it difficult for the sniper to pinpoint his location.
Raising his oceanic blue long sabre loftily up high, a trail of greenish toxic fumes lingered around it. Then, with a flash of lightning, blade rays hacked down with unrivalled ferocity.
Frankly speaking, the might of Sheyan’s ‘+7 West’ saber was relatively less threatening when battling storyline characters, than in a fight between contestants. This was because of its property to cut through various defenses, resulting in extremely terrifying damages.
With a single hack of the blade, the illusion master howled frenetically and miserably into his party channel.
“AHHHHH! This guy’s insane. His weapon actually dealt crushing damage, its normal damage negates defence, acidic damage (from Sheyan’s ‘Shrivelled tangerine’), true damage from something called ‘Flesh Explosion’, and corrosive damage (from Sheyan’s ‘Corrosynthesis’) !!! Six different kinds of attack, and three of them are akin to true damages! HELP ME!!”
Even so, Sheyan wasn’t one to act benevolently. With another uppercut slash, he swiped the poor fellow up into the air with blood splattering. But in this instance, a contestant that was previously attacking Reef, once again unleashed a barrage of attacks like a speedy typewriter.
Sheyan loved such high frequency low damage output opponents the most. His eyes bulged with bloodied veins, as ‘Zergling Rush’ was triggered once again. Three vicious blades hacked down once again!
“The more vicious your strikes, I shall return 10 folds or even a 100 folds onto your comrade!!”
“We shall see who endures longer!”
Kacha! Bones were cleaved in alongside blood-curdling screams. Finally, an arm swivelled out with blood spurting from its severed end.
Even this illusion master, a formidable Growth-Hunter, was still utterly defeated under Sheyan’s concentrated attacks.
Though his back was a mutilated mess, Sheyan mustered one last slash; sending the illusion master flying as he sunk into near-death state.
Finally, Sheyan pulled out ‘Ambition’, and took aim at the contestant’s head.
But at this precise moment, the distant Drizzt stood up and mumbled an enchanting incantation.
“Enchanted pupil of frost fixates your soul, let the frosted cold dictate life and death!”
In the midst of his incantation, a shockingly straight frozen beam bolted out from his fogging icy hands. The frozen beam seemed like it existed in another dimension, unimpeded by all obstacles before directly connecting Drizzt’s hands and Sheyan.
2-3 seconds later, a entirely different rhombus frost dagger jetted out with indescribable velocity.
By now, Sheyan had already pressed ‘Ambition’s’ trigger. In the wake of rumbling gunfire and assailing fumes, a lead bullet punctured into that unlucky contestant’s head and blasted it into smithereens!
Blood splattered across Sheyan’s face. Only now, did Sheyan realized a frozen beam connected him and Drizzt. Although he didn’t know its effect, he could tell it definitely wasn’t something good. Instantly, he dove to take cover behind the corner of a wall.
Alas, it was futile. Under the guidance of the frost beam, the rhombus frost dagger effortlessly bypassed the corner like it was a mere hallucination, and simply stabbed into Sheyan’s right chest.
Instantly, Sheyan’s left chest was frozen solid, as spikes of crystal blue icicles jarred out. When that frost dagger nailed into Sheyan’s chest, it appeared like glass smashing against a rock yet without shattering.
With the dagger as the nexus, Icy cracks extended outwards and eventually shattered with a sonorous crash, as chunks of frozen flesh and ice fragments fell to the ground. Then, a bowl sized deep cavity was left at Sheyan’s left chest, where even the peristalsis of his lungs and his ribs could be vividly seen!
The damage dealt to Sheyan was simply inconceivable!
In a flash, yet another frozen beam converged onto Sheyan. Following the earlier procedure, after 2-3 seconds upon connection with its target, a frost dagger would shoot out; unhindered by all constructions or obstacles.
With half of his upper body frozen solid, Sheyan barely managed to roll several metres away. Still, he failed to evade the connection of that frozen beam.
The frost dagger shuttled in, and right before it struck, a masculine figure charged in with indescribable speed out of the blue, and blocked Sheyan’s front.
Indeed, Reef demonstrated his ability – ‘Courage’!
Right before the rhombus frost dagger struck in with unmatched velocity, Reef lifted his dark-golden shield, which noticeably cut off the connection between the frozen beam and Sheyan.
The rhombus frost dagger collided against the dark-golden shield, and in this instance, the dagger’s rip rapidly dissolved through the shield. Shockingly, a layer of frost enveloped Reef and his shield, turning them into an azure ice sculpture.
Yet in the next second, the dark-golden shield flourished with dazzling brilliance, before the phantom of a sphinx appeared. Roaring thunderously, the sphinx swung out its claw.
The scorching sunset seemed to condense onto its phantom claw, which imprinted down onto the shield, which modelled like the scorching sun. In this moment, ice and frost melted away. Reef stood before Sheyan like a majestic and arrogant mountain rain, before coldly declaring.
“Those who wishe to touch my comrades, will have to trample over my dead body first!”
“You’re an……MT?” Drizzt’s pupils momentarily shrunk, but heightened with blazing intensity. “I actually get to finish off an MT here?”
Meanwhile, Mogensha had similarly seized the opportunity where Reef’s ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’ was still affecting the surrounding opponents. He hurled out his ‘Silver Sparta Spear’, which morphed into a chain lightning and bounced through his opponents with unrivalled deadliness.
While his ‘Sparta Spear’ was jolting through and paralyzing his foes, Mogensha successfully retreated into the besiding cluster of buildings.
He obviously wasn’t escaping but going to fulfil his mission – to tie up the hidden sniper residing at the vantage point! For such an intense battle like this, letting a sniper have free reign would be undoubtedly fatal. Honestly speaking, to the current Mogensha, such a mission was exceedingly arduous but he never feared taking up such challenges.
Up till now, Drizzt failed to anticipate two things.
Firstly, he didn’t expect his illusion master to be seen through by the enemy, and even be slain!
Secondly, he couldn’t have expected that a tiny trio of contestants, would actually have an indomitable MT dwelling amongst them. If he did, he absolutely wouldn’t have permitted his four subordinates to swarm forward! In the end, they were all caught off guard by the MT’s ability to impair their speed, leading to the opposing gunmen’s escape.
Nevertheless, Drizzt remained confident of achieving victory!
Boom! A sonorous rumbled echoed from the top of a nearby building. Black spiralling fumes could be seen spiralling out from the seventh floor of that building. Indeed, while that sniper was attempting to fire off, Brother Black had catapulted a rifle grenade over.
Although such an attack wasn’t fatal, the dejected sniper could no longer concentrate on aiming and sniping foes.
Though his opponent was equally a contestant, to Mogensha who had amassed years of combat experience and technicalities, killing and taking cover from a young age, he was truly much superior to most other gunmen contestants!
With Reef guarding his back, Sheyan gritted his teeth and pounded against a besiding wall. Instantly, he created a new channel of mobility, as a part of the wall crumbled into a pile of rubble. The two then swiftly retreated into that mini-mart.
Meanwhile, Drizzt’s lips curled into a malevolent smirk. “Trying to play me with such gimmicks?”
He waved his hand in signal, as his four subordinates quickly encircled around that particular mini-mart. Then, Drizzt leapt onto the second floor balcony of the lateral building, as two rhombus daggers condensed onto his hands.
Drizzt’s four subordinates obviously wouldn’t charge into the mini-mart, as that would be pure idiocy. Instead, those four possessed certain long range combat capabilities as well; such as shotguns, hand grenades and what not. Then, that started bombarding the mini-mart fanatically.
Although such reckless assaults wouldn’t be that useful, it would still offer a slight amount of damage.
Drizzt was someone incredibly adept and formidable in ice element abilities. Once his opponents resurfaces, their speed would be inevitably hampered, before he would proceed to drag them, bit by bit, to their deaths. All these, while he observes the despair on his opponents’ faces. This was something that Drizzt loved doing the most.Chapter 692: Reappearance of the sneeze

Under the persistent bombardment of Drizzt’s subordinates, the mini-mart sheltering Sheyan and Reef swayed and eventually collapsed with a boom.
As dust and sediment soared to the sky, Reef sheltered Sheyan as they scurried out.
Drizzt’s lips curled into a malicious sneer, as two matchless frozen beam lasered out and connected with Reef. In this instance, Reef immediately felt an unprecedentedly dreadful threat, and layered ‘Faith-guard’ over himself.
Twin rhombus frost daggers pierced in with unparalleled swiftness, bypassing obstacles completely unhindered!
Reef blocked with his shield again, as the two frost daggers dissolved and froze both man and shield into an azure ice sculpture! Except, that same phantom sphinx appeared and completely melted the ice with blazing heat.
As Drizzt’s subordinates closed in, Sheyan hurled out a gene-mix. Dense fog puffed out and transformed into a shockwave, before decreasing the movement speed of his foes; thereby earning some breathing space for Reef.
Following that, Sheyan pounded his fist several times against the wall of the next building, causing cement and bricks to crumble. As dust blocked off the line of sight of their foes, Reef and him darted into the building once again.
This time, their refuge building was much tougher, looking as though it had been constructed with thick layers of brick.
Though Drizzt’s close combat subordinates were Reserve-duty Growth-Hunters who possessed inhuman strength and weapons, demolishing this building would still take roughly 3-5 minutes. What more, they still had to guard against sudden counter-attacks from their enemies.
“Darn it! Are they trying to buy time?” Drizzt suddenly thought of this notion.
As it turns out, Drizzt was a branch head of a large party named Skull. In this branch, he, the deceased illusion master, sniper Trista who was presently duelling with Mogensha, and the fallen Joseph were Growth-Hunters. As for Kaoyi and the other four, they were Reserve-duty Growth-Hunters.
When Kaoyi and Joseph had felt something amiss and requested for emergency aid, Drizzt had quickly rushed over on first notice. A pity, he was one step too late and could only ‘retrieve their corpses’.
“Hmm, the aim for stalling time is undoubtedly awaiting reinforcements…” such a notion was quickly stirred in Drizzt’s mind.
“But if any opponents approaches the area, the mole planted in the police force by us, Party Skull, would be able to detect them through satellite surveillance. Even if there isn’t a clear trace, some sort of warning should still be released, which would allow us to eliminate all unexpected threats.”
“Could it be, they hold such confidence in that Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter who has fled into the cluster of buildings? That he can definitely kill off Trista in such a short time, and return to aid them? …what a joke! What’s the significance between Reserve-duty Growth-Hunters and Growth-Hunters?! Maybe defeating Trista can still be believable, but to defeat him in such a short span of time and return in aid, how minute must that probability be?”
At this moment, a Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter named Ben Johnson exclaimed into the party channel.
“Sir, that MT is truly problematic. His exceedingly rare dark-gold grade shield can even effectively curb against your abilities! He probably possesses a honorary medicine dosage as well. If we continue tangling up with them in this terrain, we may get dragged into a drawn out battle instead. Why not deal with that Reserve-duty gunner?”
“Oh shush it! Are you belittling my prowess?” Before Drizzt could respond, sniper Trista screamed angrily like a female witch whose soft spot had just been touched. Truthfully speaking, she was originally extremely arrogant and conceited individual. It was only after being expelled from Party Skull’s core team, that she was sent here to partner Drizzt.
“I guarantee to blast that black fool’s head mangled right in the middle of my crosshair. Anyone that dares to meddle, I promise I’ll blast your head off first!”
Contemplating slightly, Drizzt started feeling a certain ominous premonition. Nevertheless, his eyes sparkled.
“Right! How valiant is this MT already, if given sufficient opportunities to mature fully, he definitely wouldn’t be inferior to Zeus! Yes!! Such an invincible MT, how is it possible that only two others support him. He surely is awaiting for more reinforcements! Indeed, this is a glorious chance, how could I simply squander it?”
Thinking of that, Drizzt’s countenance instantly turned shady. He immediately fished out an incredibly dilapidated looking walkie-talkie, displaying an image resembling that of the world war 2 era.
[ Requesting connection, requesting connection ]
[ This connection will exhaust all remaining battery. Recharge time of 24 hours, do you wish to proceed? ]
“Yes!”
[ Connecting…. ]
“Hoi, Judas, please immediately employ your satellite surveillance, and check for any abnormalities around a 30 kilometres radius of my location. Especially for movements not belonging to us.”
“Nothing seen, only a bunch of dinosaurs. Are you really wasting your call limit on this? Idiot blockhead.”
“Shut your trap, Judas. Help me monitor once every two minutes, once you discover hostiles, inform me at once.”
“Drizzt, you’ve reached your call limit, how do I alert you?”
“Just follow the conventional protocol of the party, ring it four times.”
“20,000 utility points.”
“Deal.”
Upon concluding the call, Drizzt was sure in his heart, that after removing potential troubles from the rear, he could definitely bite his opponents to death!
In this instant, the building Sheyan and Reef were finding solace in crumbled and collapsed. Seizing this chance, Drizzt actually unleashed 4 rhombus frost daggers in succession. While they all eventually melted to Reef, Drizzt remained utterly confident in his own battle capabilities!
That was because the large scale party he was in, equally possessed an MT! As one of the core backbone of his party, he undoubtedly exchanged pointers with his own party’s MT before. Moreover, the level and fighting power of his MT surpassed this fellow. Hence, he was fully sure, the damage dealt by each frost dagger wasn’t negligeable at all!
Witnessing his enemies scurrying into the next building, Drizzt squinted his eyes as he smiled wretchedly with teeth exposed. His slender maroon tongue licked against the blade of a frosted knife.
At this moment, Ben Johnson untactfully suggested.
“Sir, their movements are seriously too strange. Don’t they know their only outcome is to be slowly grinded to death? Could it be, they rather endure such humiliation before dying, just to survive for an additional half an hour? I suggest requesting for some backup sir. Bring other branch members, for I fear, the night is long and full of terrors!”
“Shut it!” Drizzt’s lips curled into a crafty sneer.
“I don’t need others to finish them! It has been only a couple of minutes into the evening, ten minutes probably. Do you know how much an MT’s equipment can be worth? And if we fortuitously draw his dark-gold grade shield, how much wealth can we reap? Just these several minutes, or ten at most, and you want us to share such tremendous benefits with others?”
Ben Johnson immediately turned speechless. Drizzt then angrily rebuked.
“Just do what you need to do, damn it, you guys are creating too much dust Ah….ah….ah…AH….AHCHOO!”
That final, incredibly ugly sneeze completely eradicated Drizzt’s portrayed appearance of a murderously callous and bewitching individual! Mucus dangled from his nostrils, making him appear terribly repulsive.
Meanwhile, Sheyan was leaning against a wall with his eyes shut. When he heard that awfully loud sneeze, he abruptly lifted his head. In his eyes, a fiery passion to fight had ignited.
“That Drizzt and the other chatterbox are rather astute individuals. If my ‘Influenza’ symptoms surfaces more rampantly, they will surely suspect…..therefore, once more symptom arrives, that will be the best opportunity to strike!”
Not long later after several small sneezes, when a nearby Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter released a shuddering sneeze, a suspicious expression instantaneously surfaced on Drizzt’s face.
“It’s time!”
When Sheyan squeezed those words out from his teeth, a semi-transparent golden armour coated over him. Indeed, it was Reef’s ‘Faith-guard’.
In the next second, Sheyan dove out through a shattered window, where the glow of his finger’s ‘Barbaric-demon Pupil’ twinkled!
However prior to this, the cautious Drizzt constantly maintained distance between his foes and himself. Hence, Sheyan couldn’t activate ‘Horn-Rage’ until he could shorten the distance and get close to Drizzt.
“Finally unable to resist eh?”
Noting Sheyan’s sudden retaliation, Drizzt’s heart instead lightened up. If those two buggers really continued cowering in those short houses like turtles awaiting death, he definitely would suspect they were plotting something. With his foe retaliating right now, that to him, felt like he was making a checkmate move while playing cards.
With his opponent running out of options and finally deciding to show their cards, while he himself was still conserving many cards up his sleeves, such an outcome was simply amazing. For two individuals of near identical standards battling each other, this situation was akin to 90 percent victory for a gambler.
Drizzt couldn’t contain his hysterical laughter, causing one to subconsciously think of a serpent with its red tongue out.
His figure blurred as he hastily retreated several steps. Concurrently, he shot out a frost dagger which instantly shatter Sheyan’s layer of ‘Faith-guard’!Chapter 693: Each display of might

Solely seen through the way Drizzt moved and toyed with his knives in seemingly slackened fashion, it was clear he still possessed much reserves of energy. Then surely, don’t even mention Sheyan, his agility would be vastly superior to even Mogensha!
Sheyan strived his all in raging pursuit, yet every time he covered three metres, Drizzt would simultaneously retreat by four metres while facing Sheyan. Moreover, Drizzt even counter-attacked, dishing out lethal ice element damages in conjunction with slowing Sheyan’s movement speed.
More crucially, if his opponent managed to catch up, Drizzt still held at least three different methods to escape the grip of his foe and pull open the distance again. Hence, he had utmost confidence and displayed an imposing arrogance! In truth, would any Growth-Hunter placed in leadership appointments be of undeserved reputation?
Out of the blue, the dry, distinct rumblings of an AK resounded from afar.
DA DA DA DA DA! Two bullets directly struck against the sheltering cover of the opponent sniper, and combusted into a blazing mini explosion, as flames disrupted his opponent’s vision. Instead, three other bullets whistled towards Sheyan’s direction.
In this instant, Mogensha, who was trying his utmost to tie down that redoubtable Growth-Hunter sniper, unexpectedly decided to poke his nose into another battle!
Ah! This was his innate ability – ‘Beastly Instincts’!
In the most unexpected of moments, unthinkable trajectories of assaults. Right at this moment, while Drizzt’s gang was ganging up and thrashing Sheyan, a twist happened. Now, the trio were seemingly ganging up on Drizzt as well!!!
Mogensha’s first bullet shattered the entire glass ceiling of the pathway Drizzt was retreating through. Glass shards rained down in all directions, blocking off Drizzt’s line of sight. Furthermore, several larger glass shards reflecting remnant glaring rays of the sunset, overwhelming Drizzt with dazzled vision. Yet on the contrary, Drizzt increased his backward moving speed.
Within that same second, Mogensha’s second bullet blasted through the foundations of a high up, rusty rainshed that was further ahead. The rainshed crashed down, with its sharp metallic pointed tips drilling into the ground. Resembling that of an ancient chevaux-de-frise barrier, its other side of rusty tips awaited the back of the retreating Drizzt!
To Sheyan and Reef, being poked by a rainshed wouldn’t be a big deal. Yet for Drizzt who chose to specialize in agility and intelligence, his defence and vitality was undoubtedly his shortcoming. The faster he chose to retreat, the greater the collision damage would scale. Most importantly, regardless of how Drizzt chose to react, his moonwalk’s movement speed would plunge significantly!
Finally, Mogensha’s final bullet glazed past a flower terrace before ricocheting, and struck precisely beneath Sheyan’s foot. An explosion erupted instantaneously, providing a boost of force that propelled Sheyan forward.
Mogensha’s three bullets managed to hamper his foe, disrupt his vision and even provide assistance to his ally. One could only describe this move as the epitome of marksmanship.
Of course, the price he paid was being sniped down by Trista in the next moment!
The formidability of a Growth-Hunter was absolutely not something that Mogensha could rival head on! He could merely contest a little, and this single snipe immediately disciplined him on the consequences of multitasking.
Yet although he was directly sniped into a near-death state, he had already calculated this, and while activating his ‘Beastly Instincts’, he similarly activated ‘Gloryheal’ – restoring 50% of his HP within 12 seconds. Hence, four seconds later, he was out of near-death state.
Seizing the chance of the sniper’s cooldown, he hastily darted for cover.
With the sudden difference of movement speed, Drizzt finally got caught in Sheyan’s ‘Horn-Rage’ range. A blinding twinkle flashed from his ring, as Sheyan buried his head forward like a raging bull. With astoundingly immeasurable speed, he stampeded towards Drizzt.
Yet in this moment, Drizzt’s expression was incomparably queer. It was actually brimming with…..ridicule?
Sheyan monstrously knocked into Drizzt. A clear mirage of a sturmbeest appeared behind yet. Logically speaking, Drizzt should’ve been stunned right now. Instead, a dull golden brilliance jolted up his skin tight pants. Then, it was as though an enormous boa constrictor had slithered up and coiled around his body.
As his supposedly stunned effect was dispelled, he even strangely slid up in midair and deftly propelled backwards like a snake escaping from Sheyan’s grip. He was on the verge of escaping once again.
Drizzt actually possessed a dark-gold grade equipment!!
But at this moment, Sheyan was well prepared for any mishaps. He had pulled out ‘Ambition’ beforehand, before pointing its black barrel and fired off at Drizzt! ‘Rum & Songs’ activated! Sheyan wasn’t counting on its damage now, but instead, the two seconds stunning effect!
Distance, distance!
In Drizzt’s perspective, distance meant either victory, or death!
Yet as the bullet pierced Drizzt, a scale of goldish brilliance enshrouded him, as he was struck flying backwards like a weightless leaf! Although the bullet managed to stun him, the colliding force of the bullet had seemingly sent him floating backwards with shocking speed…..!
Sheyan had to waste the entire two seconds stun duration to chase up to Drizzt.
Upon landing back onto the ground, Drizzt’s lips curled into a clown like, malevolent sneer. He half knelt and pointed his finger at Sheyan, before issuing a provokingly contemptuous hookin gesture! It was like shitting on Sheyan, his finger hooking gesture was exceedingly humiliating.
Following that, a frost dagger materialized in his hand, with thin icy fumes dispersing out…yet in this very instance, Drizzt’s body ridiculously shivered under the warm glow of the sunset!!
An unfathomably cold shiver permeated through his bones and out, causing his whole body to turn limp, and his legs jelly. Suddenly, raising his leg became a chore. All his confidence then vanished into oblivion.
The symptom of Sheyan’s virus, ‘Shivers’, just had to take occur at this exact moment.
Observing the sneering Sheyan swiftly closing in, Drizzt’s first reaction was naturally to pull open the gap. Yet, the aftermath of the horrendous shiver still lingered through his bones, his body was utterly limp and devoid of energy! His movement speed had crazily dipped.
Finally, Drizzt realized the abnormality of his body!
Meanwhile, though the four other Reserve-duty Growth-Hunters were frantically trying to chase up, their mobility had been completely impeded by Reef’s ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’!
A Drizzt at full speed could definitely leave Sheyan eating his dust. Yet with his speed lowered by 50%, he could only watch on helplessly as Sheyan closed in the distance!
At present, Drizzt very decisively consumed a medicine that could expel negative buffs on his body. Yet, he instantly realized it was futile!
This other honorary medicine he had wasted 3 achievement points on, was actually useless!!
Drizzt immediately realized that the negative buff cast by the enemy on himself, held a higher precedence than even honorary dosages! An unbelievable panic and horror welled up in his heart subconsciously.
“Could it be, this is the enemy’s true ace?”
As horror filled Drizzt’s eyes, Sheyan had very bluntly tossed a flask of curse-mix over!
This flask of ‘Stinkbug’ gene-mix could deliver a 1.5 second stun and additional 30% movement speed decline effect. After the effects of ‘Shivers’ dissipated, he was once again covered under the shadows of Sheyan’s curse-mix.
Finally, Sheyan caught up to Drizzt. Just when Drizzt had escaped the range of the poison fog, a vicious saber slashed against his back! Drizzt released a melancholic scream, as blood gushed out his back. He suddenly felt a bottomless threat, a searing agony of utmost terror!
This single slash, actually delivered five different types of damages! Such a deadly weapon could even appear on one that wasn’t even a Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter. How did he acquire such a heaven-defying weapon, how did his basic attributes even reached such lofty heights?
This was one of the rare times, Drizzt felt the situation was rapidly going out of control! Just like the first time he battled Zeus in the past…..from excitement, to horror to despair…..likewise for now, it only took mere seconds as well.
Even after being slashed, Drizzt swiftly pulled open the distance between his foe. Nevertheless, Sheyan buried his head forward and pursued relentlessly.
Drizzt’s eyes had turned crimson, as fury flooded his heart. Twin frost daggers materialized in his misty hands, before jetting towards the enemy with matchless speed!
“COME!!! Do you think the honorable Drizzt will simply run? Moronic fool, you will surely die by my hands!”
Twin rhombus frost daggers intercrossed, and was on the verge of thrusting into Sheyan’s flesh. Without a doubt, due to the humongous disparity between Sheyan and Growth-Hunters, suppression of a full realm above himself, once the twin frost daggers successfully hits, he would be inevitably frozen into an ice sculpture.
But at this very moment, a masculine figure blazed in from behind with unrivalled velocity! A figure brimming with impenetrable grandeur!
Indeed, Reef once again activated his powerful rescuing ability – ‘Courage’! In a flash, he arrived before Sheyan! His body became the most resolute shield of his comrade!Chapter 694: Falling apart

The two rhombus frost daggers drilled against Reef’s shield in a flash, and dissolved into crystalline blue that encapsulated Reef and froze him into an ice sculpture. Reef groaned as he endured potent damages dealt by the twin frost daggers, where his health dwindled close to the danger zone. He too, couldn’t help but activate their party skill – ‘Gloryheal’!
Though the damage dealt by the frost daggers was astounding, the speed slowing effects were dispelled by Reef’s scorching sun shield.
Following that, everyone finally realized that not only was Reef attempting to rescue Sheyan, he similarly traversed through the distance between Drizzt and him. Hence, he was now within the effective range to affect his enemy!
Instantaneously, Reef released a raging roar to the heavens – ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’!
A shockwave viciously swept all in all direction. In this instance, Drizzt’s expression sank as he tried his best to leap backwards. Yet sadly, his movement speed had already substantially plunged down.
Even lifting his leg became excruciatingly tough for Drizzt. Fear crept into his eyes as he observed the murderous looking Sheyan, hauling along his blood dripping ‘+7 West’ saber as he pressed in!
Suddenly, he howled furiously! The frosty mist lingering around his hands suddenly folded together, and froze into a massive ice ball, before ferociously smashing it onto the floor.
Such a conduct appeared rather foolish, but with Drizzt as the centre, a square area of several hundred metres transformed into a spongy snowland. The snowland was even churning around Drizzt.
Sheyan’s single step instantly sank calf deep, as he received a notification of his movement speed immensely declining!
This was Drizzt’s answer – If I can’t speed up, then I can only slow you down!
This ability was pretty identical to Prince Stalo’s one. However, Prince Stalo’s halo ability was a complete body of impairing enemy’s mobility and subsequently devastating them. Moreover, Drizzt could only create a snowland that could only impede one’s movement speed. One could simply observe the disparity in might between the two.
Thus, though Drizzt’s speed had crazily declined due to Reef’s ‘Shattering Cardiac Roar’, Sheyan couldn’t chase up to him as well.
Although there was only 4-5 metres between them, to Sheyan who lacked long range combat methods, those 4-5 metres was like an impassable moat!
Drizzt was an individual with plenty of combat experience as well. He immediately seized this golden opportunity. Calculating in his mind, he needed 1.5 seconds to release another rhombus frost dagger, while Sheyan similarly required around 1.5 seconds to enclose onto him. This meant that if he endured a single blade, he could deliver one last rhombus frost dagger!
Tanking another blade wouldn’t be a problem, but for this mad dog chasing him, not only would he be impaled by the dagger, he would also turn frozen! Such an exchange of blows was naturally profitable.
On the contrary, Sheyan’s lips curled up with callous ridicule.
“It has been 54 seconds since a symptom occurred. This will be the 59th second, and this time, the chances of a symptom flare is 97.11%! More crucially, it has been a total of five minutes since the first person sneezed. This signifies the second tier of virus, is about to flare up gloriously in your body!!”
“Cough cough cough cough cough!!!” A series of coughs successfully became the footnote of Sheyan’s calculations.
Drizzt couldn’t resist as he bent and began coughing violently. The sounds of his cough were exceedingly sharp, as though his lungs was being kneaded and ripped apart. As for the rhombus frost dagger he was about to release, it bluntly dispersed as mist…..
Of course, Sheyan wouldn’t remain courteous. He directly detoured around Drizzt before raising his ‘+7 West’ saber, and ruthlessly chopped down.
Amidst coughs and bitter groans, Sheyan casually added a kick to Drizzt’s buttocks; kicking him flying forward, where he coincidentally landed in front of Reef.
Without hesitation, Reef activated his boot’s ability – ‘Trampling Hooves’. Bam! Bam! Bam! Drizzt was viciously ravaged by stomps on the ground.
……..10 minutes later.
Dang! A completely distorted figure was flung out from a grocery shop. The figure landed onto the uneven door of a BMW730 series car. Blood splattered in all directions. One could observe that this figure was a Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter.
Yet right now, a terrifying concavity was laid bare on his chest. Evidently, his ribs had been utterly crushed.
Although he sustained such mortal wounds, this Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter felt no pain. He crawled along the ground with his distorted body and bloodshot eyes. Probably, the adrenaline dosage was still circulating through his body,
While crawling back into the shop, he finally exhausted his last sliver of vitality and perished after several convulsions. A puddle of shocking blood trail was left in his wake!
Sheyan sauntered out of the shop with large strides. His body was smeared with blood, some dried and some new. A glaring wound could be seen on his face, with curling flesh dangling around. It ran all the way done his right cheekbone, causing him to appear additionally horrifying. Nevertheless, his eyes remained deep and abstruse.
Sheyan casually grabbed a bottle of vodka from a nearby fallen shelf, before gulping down mouthfuls of it.
The sunset was now a mere reddish ember across the horizon, dragging out a long shadow from Sheyan’s herculean build.
“Hmm?” Sheyan noticed a glow at the corner of his eyes. This glow was sharp and swift, like the sudden resurgence of sunlight. He covered his eyes as he groaned while stumbling a step back.
On Sheyan’s right wrist, was shockingly impaled by a frosted flying knife. His flying knife not only penetrated through his ‘Deformed Thickshell’ gloves, it stabbed deep into his flesh. The knife blade and gloves were all soaked in dark reddish blood, before quickly freezing into ruby ice.
“Reef……defeated eh? But, the strength he demonstrated was probably unprecedented eh. Moreover, Drizzt, don’t you feel regretful that even though you struck him into near-death state, you can’t finish him off correct?”
Sheyan’s lips curled into a cold smirk. As the glow flashed in, the vigilant Sheyan nimbly rolled to the side. Although he knocked against a glass door and shattered everything, he managed to dodge the incoming thrust of the second flying knife. While rolling, Sheyan also pulled out the frost flying knife that was lodged in his wrist.
Like a phantom, Drizzt reappeared from a distant shrub. Then, he abruptly bent over, where a series of heart rendering cough overcame him; accompanied by tears and dripping mucus. One could even notice a trickle of blood at the corner of his lips.
This was indeed the only damaging property supplemented with Sheyan’s virus abilities – ‘Hemoptysis’ – after every three flares up of ‘Violent Coughing’, the next fit of violent cough will induce a 150 blood loss damage spreaded over a 15 seconds duration.
Previously, when the virus outbreak flared out fully, Sheyan and Reef started pressuring Drizzt with the help of Sheyan’s dreadful negative virus effects. They relentlessly pursued him, forcing Drizzt’s four subordinates to reinforce him sacrificially. At times, they even employed their own bodies to block the enemy’s assault.
Logically speaking, this was going to be an extremely long and bitter fight. Yet after Sheyan had dispatched Ben Johnson, two other Reserve-duty Growth-Hunters actually fled in panic!
Firstly, this was because they had been tormented to the brink of insanity by the pesky virus symptoms. Secondly, although they knew that fighting on still provided a possibility of winning, but, but! The price of winning meant they would inevitably be sacrificed as cannon fodder! !
What use would such a glorious triumph be to them? What more, Drizzt normally treated them harshly as well….hence, the outcome was that only the last remaining loyal Reserve-duty Growth-Hunter persisted in this desperate fight.
When that happened, Drizzt mounted a crazed retaliation. Nevertheless, Reef continued persistently tying him down and resisting his assaults. The two were like wounded wild beasts clashing.
As they fought, Drizzt purposely dragged the battle further while harboring ill intent. To him, he believed that as long as he could slay Reef, his merits would be undeniable and well worth sacrificing his entire group. Sadly, Reef possessed ‘Life-link’ to preserve his life, thereby causing Drizzt’s spirit to completely crumble!
All the way till now. Those two remaining frost flying knives were Drizzt’s final offense, because his energy had long been drained from the pesky virus and the pesky Reef.
Thus, Sheyan finally trudged forward and announced.
“I’ll permit you to die as you deem fit, you have 30 seconds to reply.”
However, Drizzt’s only reply was to glare at Sheyan with reddened eyes before pouncing forward!
Sheyan grimly lifted his saber. He believed that if Drizzt had been the victor of this battle, he would absolutely not show mercy either!
A minute and ten seconds later. More accurately speaking, after receiving news of Drizzt’s demise. Trista, who was still duelling with Mogensha, wisely chose to depart.
Besides, the opponent before her was as slippery as a little rat. Though her battle powers were clearly amplified ten folds of his, this caused a huge disequilibrium in her other attributes as compared to Mogensha. Hence, neither could triumph over each other!Chapter 695: Dark Gold…..harvest

Trista’s escape had utterly extinguished all of Drizzt’s remaining hope. Right from the start of the battle, Trista could observe the cohesiveness, coordination and teamwork of the enemy, was much greater than theirs! ….naturally, at the most critical moment, seeing the situation going out of hand, Trista oiled her feet and slipped away.
This wasn’t merely her feeling fatigue from fighting, or that she felt her opponents were too formidable. It was mostly due to the dreadfulness of Sheyan’s viruses!
Violent coughs, headaches, sneezes and shivers! Innumerable successions of negative buffs compounding onto her comrade’s bodies; like a ticking time bomb that would explode unexpectedly. Yet when surveying the state of their own bodies, they just couldn’t detect a single negative effect! This was simply too frightening.
Most crucially, this was only two tiers of viruses terrorizing the opponents. However, their opponents weren’t aware of that! They didn’t understand that Sheyan was already an arrow at the end of its flight. Instead, they believed that as time dragged on, more negative buffs would descend. The dawn of an unknown terror was the most dreadful feeling!
In another perspective, Drizzt’s method of managing this party branch by being the autonomous spine dictating all their every move, was also worth criticising. Although in an enormous party, such a managing method was the most effective, but in such a battle, he became the main culprit leading to the collapse of his party’s cohesiveness.
Hence, under such conditions, it was inevitable that his party eventually crumbled apart, and he was destined to death. The speed he took so much pride in, had been curbed by the various viruses and abilities. Whereas his speed lowering ability was rendered futile by the powerful MT, Reef!
In the end, huffing and wheezing desperately, Drizzt resorted to learning from Sheyan and Reef, and fled into buildings to postpone death for as long as they could; hoping that this could lead to the viruses dissipating.
Yet he wasn’t aware that as long as he couldn’t escape a hundred metre radius of Sheyan, the viruses would unceasingly ravage his body!
Five minutes later, the trio assembled. After healing up, Reef led the trio as they scurried into a house. At this moment, Sheyan received a notification from his nightmare imprint.
[ Virus ‘Bronchitis’ dealt 38 points of hemoptysis blood loss damage ]
[ Growth-Hunter ? died to hemoptysis from your Virus ‘Bronchitis’ ]
Upon browsing through those notifications, Sheyan didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry. In the end, the redoubtable Growth-Hunter, Drizzt, actually fell to a minor loss of blood!
Such a conclusion was truly a heartfelt irony.
Observing a long trickle of blood streaming down Drizzt’s lips and the reluctance in his eyes, Sheyan shrugged his shoulders in sympathy.
Following that, the rewards surfaced. From killing two Growth-hunters, they received eight achievement points, and another four from killing two other Reserve-duty contestants!
With the regulation of this world, one could only accumulate ten achievement points from slaying. Since he already took four previously, he could only retrieve six this time. Anymore would be wasted on him. Thus, the remaining achievement points were distributed evenly between Mogensha and Reef.
Furthermore, Reef also concurrent discovered a change in his dark-gold grade shield. Originally detailed ‘? ? ?’ for one of the shield’s ability, a hidden passive ability ‘Blistering Breath’ had appeared in its place.
[ Passive ability: Blistering Breath – This shield has been blessed by the sphinx and is immune to all ice element speed reducing negative buffs. Also reduces fire element damages to you by 20%. ‘Blistering Breath’ has ‘Authoritative’ precedence.
Without a doubt, the activation of this ability brought great joy to Reef. According to Mogensha’s inference, the activation of his ability probably required resisting ice element damages many times.
Evidently, the previous owner of this shield didn’t face off with that many ice element experts. Thus, Drizzt, through his countless frost daggers and frost flying knives, unfortunately became the final key to unlocking the hidden property of this dark-gold grade shield.
At present, Sheyan recalled his own dark-gold necklace. The ‘???’ property of that necklace hadn’t been activated either. “Looks like I have to analyze this upon returning this time’.
After acquiring the six achievement points, Sheyan didn’t dare to be stingy with it. Right now, after retaining ten plus of free attribute points, he gradually felt his position in the party leaning more towards close combat output and support. This absolutely wasn’t a good development.
Right now, he was relying on his leadership and equipments to maintain his authority. However, with the elapse of time, his impact on the party would inevitably become easily marginalized. Who could tell what would happen after long periods of time?
“It’s time to quickly upgrade myself.”
Contemplating on them, Sheyan started by pouring some achievement points into his ‘Influenza’ virus ability. After spending two achievement points, the ability rose to level 7.
When reaching level 7, an option to randomize four bonus properties naturally surfaced.
[ A: During an outbreak of ‘Influenza’ virus symptoms, negative effect durations increases by 50% ]
[ B: Radius of ‘Influenza’ virus dissemination range increase by 50 metres ]
[ C: Reduces ‘Influenza’ virus outbreak duration from seven minutes to three minutes ]
[ D: Probability of sneezes, shivers, and headaches increases by 4% after ‘Influenza’ symptom outbreaks ]
After selecting to draw, he received option ‘A’ in the end. When observing the statistics now, he realized the virus name had been altered to – [ Viral Influenza ]
Furthermore, it now cost ten achievement points to promote from level seven to level eight. Even with the 50% discount from his ‘Stairway of the Sun’ virus system, it still required five achievement points.
Pondering over slightly, Sheyan selected to waste two achievement points to reduce the ‘Viral Influenza’ ability back to level 6, and wasted another two achievement points to bring it to level 7 again; thus receiving another chance of drawing.
Indeed, Sheyan recognized the flaw of having a lack of manpower in his own party, which was facing an arduous challenge to drag out the battle. By lowering the outbreak duration from seven minutes to three minutes, a total of four minutes shaved off could result in a matter of life and death. It was exceedingly vital!
Thus, Sheyan spared no liberties with his four achievement points for a new chance of drawing, just for the sake of getting the ‘C’ option attribute.
This time, Sheyan’s gamble paid off and he shockingly drew option ‘C’ and heaved a deep sigh of relief.
At this moment, the process of slayer rewards had also concluded. Of the four contestants they killed, an equipment or item would be drawn from each, and transferred to the trio.
Very quickly, Sheyan discovered that in his own personal storage, astonishingly housed a new dark-gold grade equipment!
This was shockingly the pair of skintight pants that Drizzt wore earlier. When Sheyan had activated ‘Horn-Rage’ and collided in previously, this skintight pants actually expelled the stun effect. Furthermore, when Sheyan attempted to stun him with ‘Ambition’, Drizzt unexpectedly flew backwards as well!
Those two events had left an incomparably distinct impression on Sheyan.
He them projected the attributes and properties of the skintight pants to Mogensha and Reef.
[ Versace Boa Pants ]
[ Origin: Manufactured by contestant no. 89b13 ]
[ Equipment rarity: Dark Gold ]
[ Material: Rare Bloodline Boa leather + Vine silk + Griffin velvet feather + ??? Horcrux ]

(This means that if Sheyan wore the pants, a curse-mix would deal 2 seconds of stun, while the new ‘Stinkbug’ curse-mix will deal 2.5 seconds stun. Drizzt’s regret was that even though his frost dagger dealt frostbite, Reef naturally countered him with his shield. Hence, this ability hadn’t been exhibited to its fullest potential)
[ Ability: Snakeweave – The hidden giant boa constrictor in your equipment accidentally enhances your mobility, increasing your basic movement speed by 25 points ]
[ Description: After a giant boa constrictor was hunted, its grievous serpent spirit thirsted for rebirth. If you enhance this equipment to sufficient heights, you will attain the approval of the invincible giant boa constrictor spirit; causing this equipment to change wholly ]Chapter 696: A man chewing steel

The appearance of this dark-gold grade equipment caused the trio’s eyes to sparkle. Brother Black was bursting with joy, as he squeezed out chuckles from his thick lips. The cigar dangling by his mouth fell to the ground.
His excitement wasn’t strange at all. Truthfully speaking, who wouldn’t be enthralled by a dark-gold grade equipment?
More crucially, Sheyan and Reef both had the indomitable ‘Life-Link’ ability which skyrocketed their chances of survival. Nevertheless, they were both MTs and Brother Black couldn’t dispute the fact that both of them had to risk their lives at the battlefront.
Even so, even the common male would subconsciously examine their own little brothers upon noticing the large assets of naked male pornstars.
In the face of Sheyan and Reef’s supreme survivability, Mogensha naturally felt rather lacking in security. Just so happens, this dark-gold grade equipment could make up for that feeling of lack. The crux was its defence and survivability enhancing capabilities. Moreover, it even held a controlling ability crucial to long range combatants – the ability to quickly pull open a gap between him and opponents. That was something he lacked the most!
However, excluding the dark-gold grade equipment, the remaining three items were relatively trash tier. The only one worth mentioning was a black grade dagger. Sadly, it had a negative property that lowered physique by 10 points…
Without a doubt, the trio decided to offer it to Odin, in exchange for strengthening their ‘Flesh Explosion’ ability.
Odin probably loved battle spoils that were acquired from killing, and the trio’s ‘Flesh Explosion’ ability simultaneously raised by a notch. Sheyan’s additional true damages were upgraded from 5-20 points to 10-25 points. Next, Reef’s 50% chance of recoil damages were raised from a minimum of 10 points and maximum of 30 points, to a minimum of 15 points and maximum of 40 points.
Mogensha’s ability was dealing additional damages after three consecutive shots, where the enemy’s agony and blood would invigorate Odin’s might; dealing true damages and a one second stunning effect, where the effect took ‘Domain’ precedence! For his improvement, the cooldown period of this stun effect was reduced from 9 seconds to 8 seconds.
Mogensha suddenly blurted out.
“Weird, I seem to have received an item from the enemy. Just a commonplace bandage though.”
Afterwards, Reef discovered that he had also received precious American dollars worth 500 in currency. Apart from that, he also obtained a piece of paper that contained four question marks. An ‘x’ was marked above three questions marks, while the last one remained unmarked.
On the other hand, Sheyan received an apparatus, which was indicated as ‘Unknown Glass Tube’. As for its description…..it was unexpectedly decomposing dinosaur bodily fluids!
Without a doubt, this should be a mission object belonging to one of those dead contestants. To that contestant, it was probably worth a thousand gold, yet it held no benefits to Sheyan at all. Sheyan felt rather regretful over this. After all, these objects should be the random drawn loots from their victory, and wouldn’t be considered that rare.
When Sheyan examined Reef’s acquire piece of paper, he quickly recognized it to be a sketch. After analysing it, Sheyan reckoned it to be a district map of the vicinity. As for the three question marks marked with an ‘x’, they should be places that had been searched already, while the final one hadn’t.
Sheyan sunk into pensive contemplation as he scanned the map. Instead, Mogensha quickly suggested to escape from this area. Besides, Drizzt had mentioned clearly that the Skull Party was already controlling a satellite surveillance post.
In response to that, Sheyan investigated his military authority and resolved this problem.
His current military rank was Major. By spending one point of achievement point, a network disruption protection would form and resist such a probing suppression….
This goes to say that for contestants whose military rank was lower than his, they wouldn’t be able to resort to utilizing the native technological methods to obtain information on him.
Of course, if a contestant possessed his personal satellite surveillance ability, the network disruption protection would be rendered invalid.
After adopting the disruption protection, the trio finally felt a peace of mind. After all, it wasn’t a good feeling that someone had been monitoring them previously.
Of course, while the trio was feeling at ease, someone else was naturally feeling fidgety……
In the midst of a ruinous district, a semi-wrecked billboard remained exhibiting news of the glorious olden days. A american dollar fluttered alongside the breeze while being nailed down by a rusty iron. A dislodged rock finally couldn’t resist gravity and crumbled to the ground.
Its landing impact startled a cockroach, as the cockroach frantically sped away; seeking asylum in a narrow and shady corner. All of a sudden, its feelers tapped onto something black. Then, a shoe squashed down onto its head.
The owner of the shoe glanced down as he observed a mushy little bug. His face revealed a cruel bliss.
“Hoi! Judas, any news on them yet?” The owner of that shoe gloomily inquired.
The person speaking was a masculine and tall male. One could notice a shade of ironblood ruthlessness in his eyes. He had high cheekbones and a pair of falcon like callous brown eyes. When looking into his eyes, one would feel as though one’s naked body was being seen through, no secret regions could evade his sight.
He wore a red and black cloak that had an enormous skull imprinted on it.
“Lord Skull…!” A short old head with a gloomy countenance marched out from the nearby house. This house that seemed to be on the verge of collapse, actually housed plenty of electronic facilities. Countless signal lights glinted and it resembled a telecommunications computer room.
The old head’s appearance release a tremendous queer impression. One would think of an old rat with the first glance, a cockroach on the second glance, and a venomous snake on the third!
He gloomily reported.
“The situation is extremely complex. The district territory governed by branch head Dizzt is suffering from a disturbance. From the looks of it, Drizzt that brat is exploiting our weakness, that our satellite system is by the native technology of this world. I reckon that Drizzt has reaped an amazing profit and is unwilling that we should know.”
Skull released an icy snort. After sweeping a glance through his surroundings, he grabbed a warped steel frame and swiped away the loose rust on it. Then, he actually stuffed it into his mouth and chewed it with large bites! The solid steel release crunching sounds as he chewed it. Eventually, he spat out a disgusting mess of steel wreckage, that appeared completely rusted as though it had been placed in water for decades. It was truly a repulsive sight, and no longer reflected the shiny luster of steel.
Just from spectating his expression, one couldn’t tell he was chewing on steel but rather, chewing on a sugarcane….. This person called Skull swallowed some without reserve, as though he was indulging in his meal!
What kind of freak was he???!!!
“Is this situation really that complicated? Judas, Drizzt doesn’t have the balls or appetite to devour what’s mine. He will at most try to make a bargain!”
Judas shrugged his shoulders and replied.
“I’m not done, Lord Skull. I also believe they had suffered a severe blow, and lost four of their members! Furthermore, even after the disruption ended in that area, I couldn’t find a single suspicious character! According to my investigation…I’m sorry to say this, but we’ve been suppressed in terms of military rank. The opposing party is an official field officer, I’m unable to track their whereabouts with the native’s satellite system.”
“What I want is a solution.” Skull munched on another steel sheet.
“I’ve released a satellite that belongs to us.” Judas earnestly reported.
Suddenly, Skull emotionlessly swung a kick at Judas. Crisp sounds of bone fracturing could be heard, as Judas had broken at least one leg. Bearing the pain, he muttered.
“Lord Skull, I reckon it’s Glory Party that has pulled one over us with a hidden trick. You understand that in this world, there is no such thing as true peace! Even mere achievement points can suffice as motive!”
Skull munched down every single steel sheet on hand, and sucked on his fingers with an unsatisfied demeanor. His eyes turned additionally firm and sinister!
Vroom! Cha! A wooden door was sliced apart by Reef’s lightsaber, as fumes emitted from the cut edges.
Reef then stomped open the wooden door. Instantly a piercing stench of rotting assailed his nose.
The rotting stench originated from a reclining corpse behind an office desk. This corpse had shot itself in the head. Nothing astounding could be seen from its front, but a massive mutilated blood hole could be seen at the back of its head; brain juices and blood had dried up on the floor.
This was the location indicated by the final ‘?’ on that piece of paper.
Sheyan noticed a silver metallic box lodged in the left hand of the corpse.
After opening it, photos of various dinosaurs spilled out and lastly a document.
「 Fighting Essentials 」
Beneath the header, were slovenly written words.
「 Rookies take note: This information may not be of particular use, but it may prevent a Tyrannosaurus from biting off your head and treating it like oven baked cookies
「 A: At the start, fools will be immeasurably self-satisfied with seeing flesh and blood spewing from the exterior scales of a Tyrannosaurus, while assaulting it. The reality is this – injuring a Tyrannosaurus is easy, but to penetrate through its real skin and deal a fatal blow to it, one not only requires outstanding power, but also the wondrous luck of the caribbean sea
「 B: When a Tyrannosaurus charges in and you happen to be standing in front of it, either dodge immediately or repent 」
「 C: A Tyrannosaurus’ astronomical physique and terrifying weight are its advantage, but can also become its flaw
「 D: Try your best not to engage a Tyrannosaurus in open ground. As far as I know, districts with short buildings like the ghettos would make a pretty adequate playing field 」
「 E: Although the difficulty of killing a Tyrannosaurus will be completely out of your expectations, but if you can accomplish this grand deed, the rewards will absolutely be a surprise 」
「 F: One last advice, this world is filled with countless horrifying variations. If you find yourselves in an inescapable predicament…..stand tall and fight! 」Chapter 697: Murder scene and a fuse

As he viewed this list of information, Reef’s expression turned grave.
Who knew what these information represented.
A pack of Deinonychus could be described as greeting gifts to the trio.
However, if a Tyrannosaurus was added into the equation of Deinonychus, that would be sufficient might to condemn the trio into an unavoidable death!
Furthermore, the way this corpse died by way of suicide, compounded the cruelness that this world presented!
After affirming that there was nothing else of value around, Mogensha and Reef prepared to leave.
At this moment, Sheyan abruptly exclaimed.
“Something’s amiss, take a look at the corpse’s hand.”
While speaking, Sheyan strolled over and lifted the corpse’s hand. This action of his startled a cluster of buzzing green house flies.
Instantly, everyone noticed that both hands of the corpse, which was initially covered by the sleeves, were clenched tightly into fists.
“If he really committed suicide, where’s the gun he used?”
This question immediately perplexed everyone on scene.
Mogensha suspiciously asked.
“Perhaps….others have passed through here before us. Feeling that this was a dangerous zone of dinosaurs, they took the weapon along with them?”
Sheyan replied.
“If it was a suicide, his brain would’ve been obliterated in an instant, resulting in a brief pain before losing all grasp of your own senses within a split second. His fingers should’ve loosened and not be tightly clenched like this.”
“There are two possibilities for the clenched fists. He was poisoned, and that led to the pulling of the tendon, or he suffered excruciating agony before he died; where he struggled immensely with his fist clenched. There’s still approximately two to three hours before dawn, where smaller savage dinosaurs would come and feast and clean up these corpses. When that happens, it would be hard to discover such details anymore.”
As he spoke, Sheyan pulled open the corpse’s coat. As expected, clear traces of being tied up and beaten could be seen. Sheyan then indifferently spoke.
“It is obvious setting up a scene of suicide was to pull the wool over other’s eyes….in this perspective of the deceased being murdered, the killer must’ve already gotten he or she came for. This signifies one thing – the mission the Skull Party accepted is vividly portrayed, and that is to acquire that report the killer obtained. A true pity……if we weren’t in a rush to rescue Zi, I really wanted to take a glimpse of that insider report.”
“Is that report extremely important?” Mogensha curiously asked.
Sheyan faintly replied.
“Take a look at the deceased’s suit and Davide Cenci shirt; low key yet luxurious. He wears a Patek Philippe watch and a diamond stud earring at his ear. See how provocative that ruby ring he is wearing is. The age of the deceased should be roughly twenty, but one can deduce the influence of his backer…..or precisely speaking, the tremendous influence his parents possesses. This can explain the reason for setting up a feigned suicide scene. Think about it, to prompt someone to take on such enormous risks, to the extent of silencing the person after gaining the report. This is akin to kidnapping the child of a wealthy tycoon on the level of Bill Gates, and still killing off the child after gaining the needed information. Can it not be of utmost importance?”
“But it’s gonna be tough tracking down the killer.” Reef shook his head and continued. “The killer covered his tracks impeccably. If it was a mission related to the Skull Party, then there should be relevant obtainable notifications here, but all I see is empty air.”
Sheyan slowly squatted and answered.
“If you say there isn’t even a tiny clue, that isn’t entirely right. Take a look here.”
Upon releasing that statement, Reef and Brother Black crowded over.
“Since the killer wishes to disguise this as suicide, naturally he must strive to minimize the victim’s movement. Otherwise, it would reveal too many gaps. Hence, we can determine the victim did die on this high-backed chair, with the office desk before him.”
“Therefore, to present a scene of the victim shooting himself, the murder shot couldn’t have been done elsewhere; like behind the victim or in front of the obstructing desk. We can easily pinpoint the killer’s standing location….and from the different amount of dust on the ground, it should be right here.”
At present, the warm rays of a corner lamp dimly illuminated the room, one could even observe the tiny floating dust in the air. As Sheyan spoke, he pointed towards a point on the ground.
Before this murder act happened, there were probably 7-8 days where nobody had entered here. The ground was filled with dust sediments, where a indistinct footprint could be fathomed. Nevertheless, due to the awkward angle of that spot and the dimly lit ambience, it was exceedingly hard to discover that particular footprint.
“Thus, the length of the killer’s footprint has surfaced before our eyes. I’ve learned of this before, that research shows that the height of most people is correlated with the length of their feet. Approximately, one’s height is 6.876 times of the length of one’s feet! Of course, there will be variations, but we can roughly guess the person’s height.”
Speaking till here, Sheyan paused before he pointed at a single file of footprints leading to this spot.
“Do you notice a resemblance in this footprint, that is presumably left behind by the killer? Wide and disciplined proportions between each footprint, and a very straight line! The heels of the footprints are deeper and larger, while the front is shallower; indicated the individual is accustomed to walking in a confident and organized manner…..relating this to the killer disguising a murder as gunshot suicide, and even managing to wipe off most traces…..therefore, we can guess the killer’s genuine status.”
“A militant. Or perhaps, one that is trained in armed discipline. That is the only explanation.”
“Of course, with just these details, we still cannot be fully certain. Nevertheless, the killer has left behind something. That is something that should be present but isn’t. That itself has given me more hints.”
“What is this……something that should be present but isn’t?” Reef felt that phrasing was rather awkward sounding. Instead, Mogensha was deep in thoughts.
Sheyan stood up and strolled towards the wealthy child. He then positioned his fingers to model a gun, and pointed it into the unlucky corpse’s mouth. Then, he stuffed his finger gun in, and mimicked a muffled gunshot.
“Are you trying to imply, there is something missing from this scene?”
“Yes….a bullet head! The bullet head that tore through this unlucky brat’s brains!”
Mogensha cried out and almost lost his voice.
Sheyan retracted his hand, as he squinted his eyes and gazed through the terrifying gap through the deceased’s mouth. His line of sight filtered past the enormous horrifying blood hole of brains, and reached the concrete floor behind.
Ignoring the ghastly wound and the repulsive stench, Sheyan carefully inspected for a brief while before seriously announcing.
“When that fatal shot was released, it first blasted through this unlucky child’s head, and struck there.”
As he spoke. Sheyan bent and pointed towards a tiny splintered crack.
“The bullet’s direction must’ve been slanted, and ricocheted before landing against the ceiling……oh ho, ricocheted again. Thus, the bullet eventually landed here.”
Sheyan continued strolling towards a nearby table and spoke.
“Ah, don’t look at me like that, I’m a human not God. I only managed to discover the true orientation of the bullet, by trailing the killer’s footprint over to here, that’s all.”
While speaking, Sheyan leapt onto the table, and stretched his hand towards the window frame. Right there, along the wooden crafted window frame, was a small yet distinct bullet hole. From the fibers around that wooden hole, one could tell it had been forcibly dug at before.
“Right here. The bullet finally shot into the window frame, before the killer swiftly dug it out and left. The only explanation for doing that is this – The bullet head clearly indicates a military grade bullet. If someone discovers it, his identity may be exposed and immense troubles would befall him.”
Sheyam finally summarized.
“Even though in our real world, tracing back a bullet head to its origin is considerably rare, however, this world is different from the real world. The flood of dinosaurs is merely the largest difference. Thus, I can boldly claim that new weapons have been developed specially to deal with those dinosaurs, and still make it feasible to harvest their precious dinocrystals.”
“This narrows down the scope of possible killers. A militant whose height is approximately 180 centimetres. One who thinks meticulously and has outstanding aptitude. Moreover, he is someone who has the authority of wielding a special light firearm, that employs special bullets.”
“We all know how the strict the military is. This person is probably someone who has contributed substantially in hunting down dinosaurs, one with a considerable status. That is why he possesses the capability to operate alone, to kidnap a prestigious child of a wealthy family into this dinosaur disaster zone for interrogation, before silencing him.”
“I also think this individual is pretty economically stable. Otherwise, he would’ve been moved by the branded watch and diamond studs of this second generation tycoon. He could’ve simply staged the scene that a robber had kidnapped the kid and committed homicide afterwards. Finally, just a baseless conjecture, I feel as though this matter is related to a crime of passion. Oh, of course this conjecture has nothing supporting it.”
“Boss, perhaps you should sell off your boat.”
Brother Black lit a cigar and jested.
“Then rent the building, 221 A Baker St in London, and set up a private detective office.”
(Sherlock Holmes stays in Baker St 221 B)
Sheyan squinted his eyes and continued.
“Hmm, in conclusion, say, if the deceased is a sufficiently important figure, he could very well be a fuse….let’s go my friends. For our next destination, we need to rush to the nearest city to acquire more clues before proceeding, I just hope, Zi can hold on until we find her.”Chapter 698: Zi’s impasse

She wiped the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand.
Yet another ghastly crimson stain tarnished the back of her pearly white hand.
The blue radiance of her magic robe had turned dim.
Not a single rhombus mana crystal could be seen revolving around her.
Though trapped in such vile circumstances, there wasn’t a trace of sorrow, agony or despair in Zi’s eyes.
Instead, they were boundlessly cold and detached.
Fighting on with mechanical emotions, she was utterly devoid of external perturbation; like an unmovable instrument that would never err.
The side effects of employing this state for extended periods of time, all humanly emotions would slowly be grinded away. Eventually, in the end, the robot would completely replace the owner’s personality; losing all desire to eat or rest and finally perishing.
However, if not for her upgrading this ability from level 9 to 10, thereby inducing a qualitative change where its ability rank was raised from ‘A+’ to ‘S’, Zi wouldn’t have been able to survive till now.
In the initial stage, this ability was called ‘Chaos Bloodline’, something she had acquired in one of her earliest adventures in the Star Wars world. To learn this passive ability, one was required to possess ‘Basic Force’. That ability was then evaluated as merely a ‘B’ rank. Furthermore, its cost of upgrade was tremendous, and to upgrade it from level 3 to 4, she needed to accomplish a mission as well!
After accomplish her mission, the ability then broke through to an ‘A-‘ ranking.
When the ‘Chaos Bloodline’ ability was raised to level 7, she needed to accomplish another highly difficult mission. In that mission, Zi slayed a mix-blood leech dragon in the Harry Potter world. The ‘Chaos Bloodline’ then achieved an ‘A+’ ranking. Furthermore, it changed from a single ability into 5 tiers of possible branch abilities.
Not long after entering this world, Zi finally amassed sufficient achievement points to improve this ‘Chaos Bloodline’ ability to level 10, and successfully upgraded it to an ‘S’ rank ability. It was like shedding her mortal body and exchanging all her bones. The ‘Chaos Bloodline’ evolved to an new and invincible ability – ‘Passionless Dragonforce Bloodline’.
Without this bloodline ability, even if Demondream and her other comrades repeatedly sacrificed themselves to cover Zi, she would have perished many times long ago. Still, she had just grasped this ability, where moments that she was incapable of controlling her emotions still occurred; leading to her wasting two golden opportunities to escape.
Right now, the enemy she was facing wasn’t a nobody. Indeed, it was a former senior figure of the Illume-union – Sable.
In a not too distant building, all light had seemingly been devoured by darkness. The air echoed out a palpitating heartbeat, coupled with the breathing of chaos, urgency, greed and thirst…..hidden within that darkness, was Yuan Zhan.
Up till now, of her four great heavenly generals, Demondream had died in battle! Archeaphill had sustained fatal wounds, and managed to save his life with an ‘Unmodeled Amnio-tank’. Nevertheless, his capabilities took a huge slump afterwards, plunging to a state where he wouldn’t even be able to equip Reef’s dark-gold grade shield. Thus, he naturally perished in battle shortly after!
With the demise of their MT, Sable and Yuan Zhan, who was hailed as the party’s reviving hope, had decisively and wisely submitted to their circumstances. When facing their former boss Zeus, they surrendered and turned traitor.
Following that, to earn the favourable impression of the second in command, Fu Lyanna, they spontaneously volunteered to pursue and kill Zi!
Within a short span of time, the organized party she was barely managing instantly faltered. Of the four great heavenly generals, two died and two betrayed, leaving the party leader as a widow. Furthermore, she had to flee from the vile pursuit of her former comrades.
Such a forlorn aspect, if it was anyone else, that person would’ve crumbled long ago. A pity, Zi had awakened this ability and managed to strive on in this vile impasse!
Only one notion governed her heart – to live. To stubbornly and defiantly live on, to get revenge for Archeaphill and Demondream, and lastly, for herself. Only by living would all else be possible!
Screaming against the wind, Sable was now wielding an incredibly malevolent and deadly bone long saber. This weapon was shaped like a wild beast’s vertebra, and danced with dissipating black mist as it ripped apart the air. That was the frightening scream it exuberated.
Expressionlessly leaping up, he viciously chopped down against Zi.
Due to its incomparable slashing speed when slashing through the air, it was as though a vengeful spirit was screaming in distress. One could describe this situation as gaining the upper hand just by a show of strength.
Facing Sable’s onslaught, Zi coldly pointed with her left finger. Her lips tightly pursed, before a transparent matter congealed at her fingertip and greeted Sable.
Force Wall Barrier!
Sable’s lips curled into a mocking smirk.
All of a sudden, along his dreadful long saber shaft, two sharp and curved ivory fangs bit into his hand
Instantaneously, two of his cyan meandering veins along both his arms burst opened. One could vividly observe that Sable’s blood and life essence was being poured into the long vertebra saber.
At once, the long saber ignited with black flames before heavily receiving the incoming force wall.
When the vertebra long saber impacted the force wall, those black flames spreaded towards the force wall and swiftly combusted.
Under the incandescent flames, one could observe many fine lines forming on the transparent force wall, transforming into a large surreptitious symbol that resembled the Empire insignia of Star Wars. The flames continued burning, as the symbol rapidly took shape in midair.
However, the flames quickly retracted towards the vertebra long saber! Seemingly about to cut off Sable’s attack!
Instead, Sable roared loudly as two more ivory fangs poked out from the vertebra saber shaft, and drilled deep into his hand. Instantly, the black flames of the saber rummaged with a fanatical resurgence, and directly ignited that large surreptitious symbol!
Boom! The symbol exploded with black flames as well.
Seizing this delay, Zi had managed to successfully make a full retreat. Her eyes had the characteristics of red phoenix eyes, slightly hooked up at the edges which enhanced her exquisite features and graceful balefulness.
A murderous intent flashed and faded in her eyes as she glared at Sable. But just as Zi was about to flee into a nearby alley, a brown root uprightly drilled out from the ground without a single warning!
Originally pliable and soft looking, the brown root blackened and speared forth with matchless velocity and incisiveness. Like a sharp black tendril, it thrusted towards Zi’s delicate waist!
Despite Zi looking as though she was caught off guard, when that incisive root was about to pierce her body, it suddenly froze and slowed down. Then like slow motion playback in movies, one could vividly notice the sharp root tendril had seemingly encountered an enormous obstacle.
Instantly after, a layer of transparent armour slowly coated Zi, and protected her from any ambushing assaults.
Numerous fine lines incessantly swarmed through the transparent armour, before forming into that unique Empire insignia.
Force Wall Spiritguard! When receiving an abrupt attack, it could guard a single attack from the enemy, and had a cooldown of 45 seconds. When it shatters, it holds a chance of recoiling damage to surrounding enemies.
However, after the first incisive root tendril was stalled….within a breath, the second root drilled out from the ground and resolutely thrusted in.
Waves of root assailed the ‘Force Wall Spiritguard’ bit by bit. However, the ‘Spiritguard’ actually appeared flexible as it concaved in and lessened the thrusting impact. Yet ultimately, the impact was too great, and like an exquisite porcelain being depressed in, it shattered. Icy like fragments scattered everywhere!
As multitudes of transparent fragments scattered with lethal speed, they pierced into the roots on the ground, and into the nearby darkness!
Instantly, a weird brown plant toppled over in the darkness. The plant was shaped like a spindle and was roughly two metres tall. Three fragments sliced through the bottom of the plant and severed its main stem. Then, massive amount of blood like sap gushed out highly and splashed out in all directions.
“Hais…..” A cultured male who wore gold rimmed spectacles emerged. He was gazing in from the second floor of a distant building. He wore a white tuxedo with a davetail joint tie. He was indeed Yuan Zhan.
“Your excellency Zi, you should give up on struggling. Every ‘Poison Needle Cactus’ I breed requires 3,000 utility points! Since death is inevitable, why not let us conserve our strength on account of our long term servitude to you? What’s the point of such meaningless struggle?”
“Can’t you be like Demondream? When I carved her head off, I still kissed her deathly pale lips and her closed eyes. How melancholic and romantic that was?”
“You…..” Zi’s eyes flashed with a furious glint. With that slight distraction, the snickering Sable had already grabbed his vertebra long saber, and was ruthlessly slashing over.
At this moment, Zi forcibly congealed a rhombus crystal by her side, which rapidly shifted to block his sable. Yet simultaneously, it was shattered by Sable’s saber!
Fortunately, while seizing the instance of Sable striking with his saber, she had wretchedly dodged away.
After smashing through Zi’s protective rhombus crystal, his saber continued unstoppably and struck against the steel doorpost of a bar!
Kang!! Sparks emerged as the vertebra long saber collided against the steel doorpost. The distinctly sharp sound of rattling lingered in the hearts of anyone present; inducing an unpleasant sensation of vomiting blood.
The steel doorpost broke into two, and this bar which was already severely wrecked previously, instantly collapsed with a boom. Rocks rolled everywhere as dust sediments puffed up; sealing off Zi’s escape route!Chapter 699: Newcomer black~~~~~lass?

Zi initially thought she stood a chance upon dodging Sable’s devastatingly unstoppable blade. However, for such a maliciously crafty individual like Sable, would he resort to mindless hacking?
Faced with nowhere to escape, Zi hooked out a crescent curved dagger and ferociously sliced it towards Sable’s neck. Instead, Sable twisted his body as both weapons collided.
Obviously, Zi’s single handed dagger couldn’t match up to Sable’s saber, as he dagger was bent slightly before flying out of her hand, and impaled into the nearby limestone flooring with buzzing vibrations.
Unbeknownst when Yuan Zhan laid his evil scheme, a ‘Poison Needle Cactus’ abruptly spouted up by Zi’s side. Zi hastily evaded the lethal poisonous assaults, yet allowing Sable to seize this chance, and heavily smash his vertebra long saber onto Zi’s shoulder.
Four ivory fangs bolted out from the saber and stabbed Zi, as they voraciously absorbed her flesh essence.
Zi instantly groaned in agony. Although she possessed a formidable silver storyline grade magic robe to protect her, it nonetheless couldn’t be compared with solid armour.
A terrifying large concavity was drilled into her left shoulder, and one could simply imagine the carnal mutilations that was dealt to her internal flesh, bones and arteries!
Nevertheless, from the wound inflicted by Sable’s saber, a curved shockwave swept out; blowing all surrounding dust and rocks away!
After being struck viciously by suck immense unblockable force, Zi was sent crashing backwards.
Then, she climbed back up while clutching her shoulder wound, as she half-knelt on the ground. Tightly biting her lower lip as she endured the pain, her complexion was waning with deathly paleness.
Spectating Zi’s current state, even Yuan Zhan subconsciously felt a mournful sensation welling up in his heart. The scene was as if a remote orchid had finally bloomed fully within a desolated valley, but yet he had to personally sever it. Such was the immense sorrow and loneliness she portrayed.
“Just die! Fu Lynna will be very glad to see us offering your head to her!” Sable laughed hysterically as he raised his blade.
However in this instant, Zi, who had buried her head down, suddenly emanated out an intensified austerity. Her azure shaded eyes suddenly transformed into a combination of black and gold!
Black-gold pupils!
Vertical pupils like that of a lizard or dragon!
She stood back up as her long blue robe fluttered strongly alongside the wind. The complicated yet gorgeous patterns of her robe swayed, as though turning vivid and lifelike. Images of a sphinx, cuneiform characters, sage scarabs seemed to have resurrected on her robe, as its azure color turned increasingly abstruse; as though it contained the prestige of an unfathomably vast ocean!
Following that, three shocking rhombus crystals materialized, and started revolving incessantly around her. At this exact moment, she was actually restored to optimal state!!!!
Afterwards, a puddle of blood flooded out from the ‘Poison Needle Cactus’ that Zi had vanquished earlier on. From the puddle of blood, a shadow bore out with unparalleled speed. With how enchanting the manner of which that shadow had appeared, the impression given to everyone present was that of incomparably dreadful killing intent instead of fury.
*
「 Abreu, black male, plump, 42 years old, aquiline nose, a wart at his chin, Senior Executive of the Istres Leka Communications Corporation. 」
These information were written on a piece of paper.
This piece of paper was presently being shared around by twenty solemn looking brutish black men. From viewing their countenances, it was as though this paper was like a dagger carving out their mind.
This was because the order they received was this:
“Find me that punk within an hour, and bring him completely intact to the Bugle club at once!”
The expression of Biyombo, the one who released the order, was even more profoundly embedded in their minds. An expression of utmost greed filled with menacing life swallowing threat.
These men sorely remembered. The last time this expression surfaced on their leader’s face, was three years ago while viewing a ten kilogram heroin package.
Noteworthily at that time, that ten kilogram heroin package was being escorted up a police vehicle, alongside their former leader.
Yet right now, having assumed the position of crimelord of a large gang in this Mattrine district, a mere ten kilogram heroin package would no longer cause him to even blink once.
So what could entice him?
Thirty minutes ago, the first black man who glimpsed that piece of paper sat atop a motorbike. Accompanying him, were 7-8 individuals with hippie hairstyles and brass nose rings.
These wild ones arrived at an exceedingly filthy commoner slum house, polluted with sordid running water everywhere. The precise report he received was this – someone by the name of Abreu had entered here with the daughter of the slum house owner, and hadn’t come out since.
A thought provoking fact was this – the daughter of the landlord indeed relied on her physical body to maintain her livelihood.
She belonged to the lowest rung of society.
In this Mattrine district, there were no fertile lands and no mineral caves. Only the desert, seawater and barren ground. Not even grass could grow here.
Yet in contrast, the place was bustling with murderers, bandits, criminals and prostitutes. It was truly abnormally prosperous. The civilians here relied on the exceptionally high risk tasks of hunting dinocrystals, and sustained their lives with the immense profits gained.
Moreover, the government too supported such conducts of hunting those dangerous beasts. After all, these people were unstable elements of society. Hence, this district was truly a grey area district.
A black man licked this blood red thick lips. He had a tongue ring piercing and a spider tattoo on his face. Harboring malicious intents, he chuckled.
“A moron really knows how to choose. Trixi may be a little old, but her skills are the best in this Blackdrum Bar. That guy has been in there for more than two hours with her. I’m afraid we’ll have to carry him out to the car.”
The group around him snickered after listening to him. The lofty black leader wasn’t in the mood for jokes, as he frowned and waved his hand.
“Go and search for him, and bring him out in one piece immediately.”
Seconds later, the door of this shabby slum house was smashed apart without respect. 3-4 black males barged in as they scoured around with venomous and dirty glances.
Almost instantly, they sighted the prostitute Trixi half kneeling before the waist of an obese black man. Her head was repeatedly bobbling, as that black man comfortably issued delightful groans while leaning back on a quilt.
Startled by such a ruckus, that obese black man instantly and ‘agilely’ scrambled up, but didn’t expect to be seized forcefully within a flash. He wailed bitterly as he was pinned to the bed. Then, the lofty black man approached and spitefully glanced through him, before interrogating with a thick nasal accent.
“Abreu?”
That obese black man gulped down his saliva and frightfully murmured.
“What did you say?”
A black male who barged in pulled out a pistol, and placed it over the obese man’s head. Cocking the gun, his figure hovered above the trigger.
“I shall ask one last time. I am looking for a brat named Abreu. If you aren’t him, or choose to lie, this bullet will taste your brain.”
“I-I-I, I..I………y-y-yes…yes, yes!”
*
Roughly 7-8 minutes later, Abreu was shoved into the Bugle club. Very quickly, he was brought before Biyombo. This black ringleader who wore a nose ring was gazing at a neighboring desk. Then, another black male casually puffing on a cigar strolled over, and slapped Abreu’s face lightly.
“Kiddo, relax a lil. Congratulations, you’ve made it rich. That is, if you are truly Abreu, the Senior Executive of Istres Leka Communications Corporation.”
Just as Abreu was about to reply, Brother Black had poured him half a glass of whisky, and irrigated his mouth; causing him to choke and cough violently. Following that, Brother Black continued.
Alright, before we start, you must pass a simple interview. How did you get fired by Istres Leka Communications Corporation, a tremendously outstanding conglomerate that has seemingly full control of the nation’s communications network? Please speak the truth eh, otherwise, I’ll get angry and the consequences of that will be very harsh. Believe me, you wouldn’t want to see that happen.”
Abreu’s mouth was wide open as he stammered.
“I-I-I….I accepted cash from a woman. During my shift, I exploited the dinosaur satellite surveillance system to track a male’s whereabouts.”
“OH hoh! That’s pretty cool!” Brother Black whistled and asked. “After that?”
Abreu sighed and accorded.
“Then, I realized he was a senator that was preparing to run for the governor’s office….”
“You did a pretty fine job!” Brother Black warmly patted Abreu’s shoulders. Then, he casually fished out half the stack of american dollars that Reef acquired earlier on, where the other half had already been spent……
Mogensha stashed the stack into Abreu’s pocket and assured.
“Brother, I must congratulate you. You’re in luck, you’ve made it rich! Of course, you have to carry out a few tiny small tasks for us. Oh relax, nothing too much of significance.”
After patting Abreu’s shoulder, Brother Black started sauntering out of the club.
However, at this precise moment, the neglected Biyombo coughed aloud, prompting his flock of youngsters to block Mogensha’s way.
Sitting by the corner of the room, Sheyan gently bounced up before tossing a mysteriously twinkling crystal, the size of a pingpong ball, to Biyombo.
That was the ‘Soul Crystal’ he acquired in the Avatar World*. Feigning it as a unique dinocrystal that Biyombo hadn’t seen before, Sheyan naturally had much to spare.
(TL: *This happened in chapter 106 of the avatar world, he acquired it from Old Mourbo)
Biyombo caught the crystal and toyed with it repeatedly as he greedily licked his lips.
Sheyan and Reef then headed out. Instead, those black men continued blocking their path.
Biyombo craftily sneered and ordered.
“Seize them and search them thoroughly! Oh right, be careful with that newcomer black lass. Don’t be too harsh and injure him, his butt cheeks look rather tender and suits my appetite well.”
The trio was momentarily stunned. Then, Sheyan and Reef wryly exclaimed to each other while attempting to suppress their giggles.
“Newcomer black~~~~lass?”
