Chapter 143: Curiosity is always right
It was a weird feeling. Dohyuk felt the softness of an angel’s skin when his bare feet kicked up, but there was something that was hard enough to even crack his bones.
-So.
The angel did not even budge.
-How should I interpret this behavior?
The angel calmly sent the message. Dohyuk did not bother.
“You don’t need to interpret anything.”
Dohyuk attacked again. He kicked the angel again and again.
-O’ God of Unbreakable.
The voice of the angel now even had a hint of smugness in it.
-I apologize if my words have made you feel uncomfortable.
Dohyuk ignored the angel and kicked again, but this time with the heat from Kasha.
-…
It seemed the attack was a bit much for the angel to just take on, and one of the wings turned down and clashed against Dohyuk’s attack.
‘It deflected it?’
His foot hit the wing, but the heat on the foot did not transfer over to the wing.
“…”
Dohyuk took in a deep a breath and kicked again so that the angel couldn’t defend with just the wing he had just pulled up. However, there were more wings.
The second wing came down, forming a giant shield over the angel’s body. Dohyuk then pushed himself up from the ground and began to kick multiple times against any opening across the pairs of wings.
Now, all four wings were covering the angel. Not even one attack or a bit of heat could reach the angel.
“…”
-…
There was silence as Dohyuk looked down at the angel from the air. They looked at each other and Dohyuk clearly saw the angel smirking from within.
“I knew it.”
Doyuk then pulled his both palms up as if he were giving up. Maybe that’s why the angel did not realize that there was something more dangerous in those hands that he could think of.
Hand of Yamook was a skill that had to be used with a hand, the AAA+ ranked throwing skill that allowed Dohyuk to throw over 20 needles with a simple, slow movement.
That was why he pushed himself up with his hands to pick up the metals, his Kindest Process to tearing the handful of metal apart. As he jumped, the metals were formed into thin needles.
And then-
>
With Giwon’s Nature, the needles became throwing weapons.
-…!
The angel tried to defend himself by tightening his wings, but it was too late. He didn’t need to do that, but his arrogance left an opening so he could look up at Dohyuk and smirk at him. More than half the needles were in the wings. Three of them passed through and two hit the right eye while one got the left eye. They all had ‘heat’ in them.
Dohyuk then landed on the ground.
“That always works.”
Dohyuk looked at the shaking wings. The angel was still hidden beneath them, but it was easy to imagine what was happening below. Yet, the angel did not scream. Maybe the angel had no vocal chords at all and its only method of communication was to send messages.
When the wings were pulled back and the angel’s angry face was shown-
“…Whoa.”
Dohyuk felt his hairs rise. It was a vicious look. The angel’s half-melted eyes were looking down at Dohyuk with the intent to kill. Blood was flowing out of its ears and nose too. It seemed like the inside was severely damaged by the heat.
Dohyuk said, “Hey, you look hurt. Do you see this?”
Dohyuk flicked his fingers. “Come here, show me if it hurts.”
Dohyuk had succeeded in his goal. When he first kicked the chin, he was quite angry. But it wasn’t due to anger that he moved. Before he attacked, he constantly asked himself if it was okay to attack the angel. He had to fight them soon or later. Therefore, he needed information about the enemy. Just observing wasn’t enough. He needed to check what kind of attack might have an effect, and how far he had to go to kill them.
And…
‘I need to know about this thing called ‘rule’.”
For Dohyuk, the rule was the puzzle that he needed to solve more than anything. He had benefitted from it until now. It was thanks to those rules that allowed him to fight against other gods.
But if that was the case, what about Dohyuk?
Dohyuk certainly was a god in the system. But if that was the case, he had to receive a penalty for harming another human. Yet, there was no penalty.
Then what about the angel? Dohyuk was ready for any possible penalties for attacking the angel, but there was none.
-****************************
A voice came through his head, but it now sounded very angry now.
“So, you’re angry now.”
Just by grimacing, the angel now looked like a demon. Dohyuk smiled. He hadn’t intended to attack severely at first. He thought the angel had to be more powerful than that.
-***************************
“Yeah, I think I get what you mean.”
It was foolish to think that the angel would not harm in in this point, but Dohyuk was not afraid. With the attack that he made a while ago, he was given a new strategy to deal with this angel.
Maybe he had a chance.
“Oh, actually, it’s been a while since I’ve earned coins by killing something.”
Dohyuk readied himself. But it wasn’t different from his Flying Master Kicks stance.
“How much will you give me?”
And for the first time, Dohyuk unleashed his second battle stance.
