Chapter 132: It’s over (2)
-Make the material itself have problems.
The metal giant turned its body upside down and grabbed the leg that had been cut off and placed it in its original place. It didn’t connect right away, as the heat still remained and hindered it from being reattached. However, the giant quickly found a solution.
It grabbed the side with the heat and tore it away. And when that was done, it placed the leg back and it began to reattach itself. It only took the giant a few minutes before it could stand up again.
Of course, it was enough time for Dohyuk to tear the metal giant into pieces. That is, if he was fighting only the metal giant.
Two metal giants that looked like four-legged beasts charged forward. They were smaller, about the size of elephants, but they were much more agile and faster. After Dohyuk dodged the first giant’s claw, he kicked up toward its head to slice it into two. He then prepared to use “Double” to fight against the second beast.
“…!”
Dohyuk barely dodged as the second beast’s talons scratched his side. If he did not stop his previous movement, he would have been struck down by a whip. The metal whip made a deep scar on the floor where Dohyuk stood a moment ago.
It was another metal giant that wielded the whip. It seemed like its entire right arm was a whip that could be thrown at will. As Dohyuk kicked the second beast, he dodged the whip and kicked it to cut it off.
However, by then, the first metal giant had almost recovered.
Dohyuk could cut down metal. The side that was cut was heated so that Cactus Bill’s toys could not reattach themselves. But that was the limit.
Even with the heat, it wasn’t like the type of flame that caught onto the next. The damage Dohyuk could inflict was too little to cause problems for the material, like Blass had told him.
Kasha, who had been hanging onto Dohyuk on his back, asked, “Aren’t we screwed?”
“Shouldn’t we get the heck out?”
“…Maybe.”
“Maybe? Why maybe?” Kasha asked back with a concerned voice. She had bodies, but since she could choose which body to take over, the amount of damage taken wouldn’t matter to her.
But as she said, Dohyuk was her food. Honestly, in Kasha’s case, it might be good if Dohyuk died.
“Watch out!”
It was just that she wasn’t that clever to think that far.
Dohyuk jumped and barely dodged the attack. Two metal giants, and two metal beasts.
No- it was now three metal giants. Another, insect-like giant also joined the fight.
Now, the ones out in the sea began to come up to the docks to join the fight. It seemed that Cactus Bill realized it would be easy to deal with Dohyuk with a large number of his toys.
“H-hey. Let’s run. Please? Please? You can’t beat them. Run! Run!”
Without answering, Dohyuk focused on dodging the attacks. Kasha then asked, “O-or do you have some brilliant plan? To win…”
“No.” Dohyuk spoke in a sad voice. “I’m just accepting my loss.”
“We can run! We can…”
“It’s impossible. Look.”
However, before he could continue, a metal whip struck Dohyuk.
“UGH!”
Dohyuk was thrown back.
“N-NO!”
“…S-see… I can’t… run…”
Dohyuk seemed to be filled with despair, and the spirit grimaced. She couldn’t show herself, but she had witnessed the many things that Dohyuk did. Not once did she see Dohyuk speak with such a voice. She had never seen him face such despair.
And then, another metal beast smacked Dohyuk. He rolled on the ground and couldn’t stand up anymore.
“It’s over… It’s…”
“Stand up!!!!” Kasha was almost crying.
“I don’t want to die…” Dohyuk spoke as he tried to stand, but failed. The metal monsters were closing in.
Dohyuk then said, “…Goodbye.”
“NO! DON’T DIE!!!!!!!”
It was a bad situation. Dohyuk’s bones were broken, and it seemed like it was impossible to win. However, Dohyuk, who was facing the ground, sighed in relief.
“…Whew.” Dohyuk mumbled in a quiet voice so only he could hear.
“I can’t do this twice.”
And then he rose up.
“YAY!! YAY!!! LET’S GO!!!”
Kasha was now crying in joy. But she didn’t need to be worried. Even in that state, it was easy for Dohyuk to stand. It was just that he had been acting.
>
>
A beast jumped at Dohyuk, but he did not dodge. Instead, he reached out towards the beast’s two front legs and pushed. Dohyuk was not pushed back, but he wasn’t trying to push the beast away either.
>
When Kasha first activated this power, her purpose was to save Dohyuk from dying. But Dohyuk was different. He was just busy getting beaten up. He then very coincidentally happened to chance upon this.
>
The power that occurred when Dohyuk and Kasha shared a purpose was different from when Dohyuk just supplied faith to borrow power.
>
And from the front legs, the beast’s body began to heat up and turn red as it melted. Unlike how only he only melted the part he attacked before, it now transferred over broader surfaces. Before it could completely melt…
“HAH!”
Dohyuk jumped and kicked the beast to the back. It wasn’t thrown too far back, but it was just enough to strike another giant who was charging in.
It was a mistake to touch it. As the metal giant grabbed the beast, the heat transferred over to the metal giant and began melting it also.
It was the outcome of both gods wanting to save Dohyuk’s life.
