Chapter 82: I spat (1)
Dohyuk let out a sigh. He saw nothing but darkness, with rocks, sands, and dirt trapped around him. He had been buried alive. But of course, it wasn’t only Dohyuk.
Steel Labyrinth.
After swallowing the huge structure that was buried under the ground as a whole, the ground had collapsed. People screamed as they moved to avoid being buried below, but Dohyuk did not avoid it.
‘I can withstand it.’
After fighting Lee Yuri and her followers, Dohyuk realized something. His 500 Stamina rating allowed him to stay awake even if he took enough damage that would kill a normal human.
For example, Dohyuk would be fine even if he was struck by a medium-sized car at a fast speed. He could perhaps walk out of the collision with maybe a bone fracture. So with that said, it was obvious for Dohyuk to be okay even after being buried alive.
‘I can do unimaginable moves now. Same goes for the damage. I should take in as many hits as I can without being shocked.’
Without moving around too frantically, he crouched to avoid being struck in his weak spot. This was the answer he chose.
“…”
As he pushed the rock, he heard moans and screams. The size of the labyrinth was very big. It was wide, but it was also buried very deep, resulting in 10 meters of ground that had collapsed instantly. There was no way for those who were above to avoid getting buried. And with them trying to get out it, there was no doubt that they were hurt more than Dohyuk.
“GIWON!!”
Dohyuk shouted with all of his might. His ‘Digest’ that allowed him to swallow the labyrinth was different from digesting equipment with ranks. It didn’t give him special skills or coins. Nonetheless, he was still able to absorb it. He couldn’t do it with humans of course.
With Heeyun’s cooperation, Dohyuk once swallowed the city with Heeyun inside of it. When there were people inside a structure, the only thing that disappeared was the structure. So Giwon should’ve been buried somewhere also.
“Yoo Giwon!”
He knew very well that Giwon was not in a shape to shout back but…
>
Giwon could probably hear his shouts. With the power activated, Dohyuk shared Giwon’s senses.
Pain.
Dohyuk felt the terrible pain, but it was a sign that Giwon was still alive. And-
“Yoo Giwon!”
He was listening to Dohyuk’s shouts. Dohyuk pushed aside rocks to climb forward, and as his voice got closer to the point where he could hear his own voice from the top, Dohyuk stopped and began digging down. The rescue didn’t take long. As he felt light shining into Giwon’s half-open eyes, Dohyuk pushed the rock that covered Giwon’s face.
“Y…”
Giwon opened his mouth and showed a few teeth that were still intact. Among those teeth, however, there were none that were originally his.
-I implanted a few fake teeth. It’s the best place to hide any potions or poisons.
Giwon took out a potion after getting beat up by Jung Ilgyu a while ago from one of those fake teeth, and it was not the last one. When he was tortured by Jung Ilhu, Dohyuk felt Giwon touching his molars with his tongue.
“You… are… reckless…”
Giwon was smiling as he spoke.
“You’re the one who’s reckless,” Dohyuk retorted as he pulled Giwon’s body. The cross that used to hold him up was gone.
“Do you think you’re a kamikaze or something? This isn’t how you scout.”
“It’s… a… normal… here…”
Dohyuk also smiled. To Dohyuk, Giwon was not just a ‘beast’ anymore. Then Dohyuk felt someone dropping down from behind and turned back. He knew who it was.
“…”
Lee Yuri was dumbfounded. She wasn’t hurt for the most part, except for a shallow scratch on the side of her head.
“I… wasn’t informed of this plan.”
“Yeah, I didn’t plan it.”
“Didn’t you think I might die?”
She wasn’t blaming Dohyuk at all. She was purely curious.
“No way. You’re durable.” Dohyuk responded instantly, “That’s why I brought you here.”
As he spoke, Dohyuk reached out to her.
“You have a blade? Give it to me.”
Yuri then took out her dagger from her belt. It was a C-rank weapon that she carried for emergencies when she needed to fight in close combat. She figured Dohyuk was trying to digest it to erase his small wounds. But…
“Grab it. You don’t have to put any pressure on it.”
Dohyuk made Giwon grab it with his remaining hand and Dohyuk swung it himself to strike his side.
“Wha…!?”
It wasn’t only Lee Yuri who was shocked.
“What are you doing?!” Giwon was alarmed. He had restored that much energy in that slight moment. Dohyuk wasn’t done yet.
“Again.”
The blade stuck Dohyuk’s stomach again and Giwon quickly pulled it out with a pale face, but the ‘energy drain’ was already done.
“…Ugh.” Dohyuk frowned.
“You don’t need to look at me like that. I avoided important organs. It just… hurts a lot. That’s all,” Dohyuk spoke as he let go of Giwon who did not fall onto the ground. Just after thrusting the dagger into a strong man twice, Giwon recovered enough power to even run.
“You are cr…”
“Hey, keep this man safe.”Dohyuk cut off Yuri’s words and gave an order, “Make sure you get back home. Don’t let him die.”
“…”
“…”
Yuri and Giwon were both lost for words as they looked at Dohyuk. But Yuri’s surprise was different from Giwon’s.
“Answer.”
“…!”
Yuri became intrigued. This new side of Yoo Dohyuk was just too interesting.
“Okay.”
“NO! But what about you-”
Giwon tried to say something but Yuri quickly chopped his neck, making him fall unconscious. Yuri was originally much stronger than Giwon, and he wasn’t in a perfect state anyway. Yuri quickly grabbed Giwon and hauled him over her shoulder.
