Unbreakable Chapter 106 - Fear is for everyone

Chapter 106: Fear is for everyone

It was a very peculiar experience.
The people in this region all had their own share of peculiar experiences. The world had turned and they lived life with their entire civilization and moral standards flipped upside down. They then died and came back to life for another chance. But even to them, this was unheard of.
“Uh…”
Everyone stopped in their tracks, however not everyone acted the same way. Some just stood still, dumbfounded, with their hand on their chest, while some looked around frantically.
However, they all experienced the same thing. The fear had disappeared. The fear that struck them, or the fear of the Tyrant, was gone. And the feeling that replaced it was one that they knew very well.
Why would they not? Even if a person had no love for himself, there was once in a lifetime when a person would clench their fist and become determined, to never be broken. To never give up.
“…”
“…”
One by one, people raised their hands to wipe away their tears. They were crying, not knowing why. Yet, it was easy to guess. They all knew, at some point in life, they all had this determination. But to all of them, it had been taken away from them by experiencing this world twice.
Despair, fear, and giving up.
That was all that was left in them. However, now, even if it was just temporary and the result of a skill, they had found that lost feeling again. How could they not cry? After they wiped away their tears, people looked up. There was a lot they couldn’t understand, but at least they knew who made them cry. Who gave them that feeling. They had to watch to the end, and they wanted to do it.
Even if the result was for it to all end in tragedy.
“…”
Jung Ilgyu opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn’t. In fact, he couldn’t even think of anything to say. His instincts told him that Yoo Dohyuk was recovering his power. There were no signs or anything to prove it, but Ilgyu could feel it.
“This is bullsh*t.”
He scoffed. Was it to himself? Or to Dohyuk?
“You piece of sh*t…”
His bracelet was working fine. It wasn’t just some crappy equipment he picked it up from somewhere. It was SS-ranked equipment given by a god to bring fear to the people around it.
What did Dohyuk do to overwrite it? It was unreasonable. Yoo Dohyuk could not be that perfect.
“Are you a god or something?!?!” he shouted and attacked Dohyuk with the sword of Kerubac.
But why? The attack that did not lose to any of the previous attacks in terms of speed of power, Dohyuk avoided easily this time.
“I am a god,” Dohyuk stated as he kicked.
Dohyuk’s kicked Ilgyu’s shin, and this time, the barrier didn’t even seem to work at all. Ilgyu lost his balance and he tried to swing his arm, but he couldn’t do so since Dohyuk was holding onto his left arm with the gauntlet on, right at the moment he kicked.
“Digest.”
The light shone, and just like that, Ilgyu lost his weapon. However, he couldn’t just stand still and wait. He tried to swing his right hand that was holding the Kerubac Sword.
“What? You have a problem?”
“…”
That’s when he realized something. Ilgyu looked down at his two legs and checked the distance. Moments ago, it was his two legs that had moved back and not his right hand moved to attack.
He had only done this twice thus far.
Once against the Swordmaster, and once against the Australian thug named Cactus Bill. Both were nightmares he wanted to erase from his memory, but Dohyuk didn’t even give him time to remember about the nightmares.
Dohyuk’s two legs were using the unreasonable movement that Blass taught him, but it didn’t look messy. His moves were now adapting to the situation. Ilgyu moved his body, but it didn’t work as he thought. Dohyuk’s left leg twisted at a weird angle and kicked the back of Ilgyu’s waist. Ilgyu felt his bones cracking and moaned in pain. Then, without landing on the ground, Dohyuk spun and kicked again.
‘If I get hit one more time…!’
It would be over. His instinct warned him, and he held up Kerubac to protect his head.
It was a decision that saved his life. His head was safe, but instead, Dohyuk’s body spun more and it was his hand that touched Kerubac instead of his foot.
“Digest.”
Light shone again, and that was it. On the right side, where Ilgyu lost his weapon, Dohyuk’s kick flew in, right at his head.
And with that, the Tyrant fell. Everyone saw it clearly.
It was a clear sign of victory. Tens of thousands of people became silent as they looked at the victor’s next move.
“…”
Dohyuk looked up. He closed his eyes as he tried to calm his frantically beating heart. What he faced was a crowd of tens of thousands of people, beasts and humans alike. Giwon once told him that it might be hard to suppress the remaining crew of the Circle even if he defeated the Tyrant and picked out people from them. It was a moment of great danger and potential loss. But now-
>
It was time for Dohyuk to act.
“I will say this to every single one of you.”
It was a soft voice that nobody could hear unless they were really close, but the voice wasn’t only coming from Dohyuk. His voice was thunderously loud, from the back of the city to the front and within, as if amplified by some kind of giant speaker.
If he had enough faith, he could form and shape his city and its laws however much he liked. And to him, the amount of faith he had now was much more than ever.
“Everyone, those who have not hurt anyone can stand behind me. If you go into the city, there will be a resting place that is ready for you. If anyone who has hurt someone comes close…”
Dohyuk raised his hand, hoping that Heeyun would understand his intention. He was underestimating her. The moment Dohyuk raised his hand, a series of light energies were fired from the city wall and landed in front of Dohyuk.
It was the signal that both of them had agreed on a long time ago.
“I promise you.”
Of course, it wasn’t meant to be used in such a manner, since it was supposed to help Dohyuk fight against intruders. For this moment, it worked best for what it was used for.
“I will not allow it.”
People began to mumble to themselves, and through the crowd, a man similar to Dohyuk’s age stepped out. He was human, but he was not alone. Maybe a lover or a sister? There was a woman holding his hand.
It was a risky act. Those 30 thousand slaves weren’t just standing wherever they wanted. They were being watched over by Ilgyu’s men, each of them watching at least ten to a hundred people each. Even if Jung Ilgyu had lost, the slaves were still valuable property.
Even then, the couple ran towards Dohyuk. They believed in the man who gave them hope, and they believed that even if those beasts tried to chase after them, the man would do something.
And Dohyuk did not do anything.
Both the man and woman were shocked and looked behind them.
“…Huh?”
Surprisingly, no one was chasing after them. It was certain that there were beasts there ready to chase after them at any moment.
“It’s okay.”
A voice came from the front.
Dohyuk was now right in front of them.
“They will not get to you.”
His calm voice was amplified from within the city. He was right. Dohyuk did not do anything to threaten those beasts. But there was no need for it.
>
They were already tied to their master. Dohyuk couldn’t get all the information about Jung Ilgyu’s equipment from Yoo Giwon, but there was one thing he knew clearly. Dohyuk knew exactly what the bracelet could do and what kind of effect it had.
That’s why he explained his power when he did not need to. The Tyrant had taken the bait and activated his bracelet. ‘Unbreakable’ was bestowed upon those who believed and trusted him, but the others…
“…”
They were still panicking with fear from Jung Ilgyu. The bracelet worked on everyone without exception.
“Here.” Dohyuk offered a hand to the man and woman, “You made a brave decision.”
It was a warm, welcoming voice that they had never heard from any strong person before.
“Go into the city. The people there will provide you with food and shelter.”
And before Dohyuk could finish, over thirty thousand people began running toward Dohyuk. Through the sight, Dohyuk saw a message pop up.
