Chapter 657

Carol entered Dio’s room and sat on the couch as the Dark Elves left her alone to wait for Dio to return. She began to look around as she got nothing else to do for now, and the first thing she noticed was how simple Dio’s room was. Everything was where it was supposed to be, and it looked well taken care of. Then Carol’s attention fell to the cabinet full of tech on the side of the room.
Carol knew immediately that the cabinet was like a safe on Earth, and it was where Dio stored his important possession! Carol immediately walked over to the cabinet and pulled out a dagger from her pockets. Without hesitation, Carol immediately jabbed the cabinet locked with her dagger to open it! The cabinet door opened as it couldn’t withstand the dagger that Carol used to pry it open, and the stuff inside was immediately exposed to Carol’s eyes.
She saw some Star Coins, frozen boxes, and the metal ball that contained the Power Gem! Without hesitation, she took the metal ball and opened it. The enchanting purple light immediately beamed on her face while she smiled weirdly.
“What are you doing?” Dio’s voice was suddenly heard behind Carol. As soon as Carol opened the cabinet violently, Dio immediately received an alert that was quickly transmitted to the monitoring room in real-time! Although he didn’t know what Carol had done, Dio wouldn’t turn a blind eye to whatever it was! So, Dio immediately rushed towards his quarter to confront Carol!
“Nothing, I just want to see what is more important to you!” Carol said with a surprised expression.
“You are not Carol! Who are you?” Dio said as he began to frown and looked at Carol coldly.
“I am Carol! Who else would I be!” Carol said as she forced out a smile.
“I don’t know what method you use to occupy her body, but you are as good as dead!” Dio said as he pulled out [Reaper’s Gaze from a card. But instead of getting scared of Dio that gotten serious, Carol just laughed and looked at Dio with a teasing expression.
“Come on, do what you want with this body!” Carol said monotonously. “Why are you just standing there? Don’t you want to defeat me? Come on, I will help you with it!” Carol monotonously said as she slashed her own face with the dagger in her hand. Blood dripped down the floor as the wound on Carol’s face seemed to be a little too deep!
“Are you disappointed? This poor woman’s face has been disfigured! So, how about cutting her hand as a gift to you?” Carol said monotonously.
“That’s enough! Leave her body now!” Dio said furiously. He could snatch the Power Gem out of the opponent’s hand, but he didn’t know what the opponent would do to Carol’s body after that! Should he just leave Carol alone? But he now knew for sure that Carol was definitely controlled by someone!
“Are you threatening me right now? I know that you are strong and can use many weird abilities, but now my soul has taken over this body! I can easily kill this woman, and now comes the fun part! What would you choose to save? This poor woman, or the Power Gem?” Carol said monotonously. She began to walk towards Dio and put her hand forward, showing the Power Gem in front of Dio.
Dio stood still as he tried to think of a way out. He didn’t reach for the Power Gem immediately as he knew that he couldn’t just abandon Carol so easily! at the same time, Carol showed a satisfied smile and then attacked Dio with the dagger in her hand.
“Oops, I am sorry, can’t help myself there! Don’t worry. Feel free to fight back and strike me anytime!” Carol said as she started to giggle annoyingly.
“Really now?” Dio asked as he smirked a little.
“Of course! Come here and aim for my heart! You can kill this woman in one fell stroke! You don’t have to hesitate!” Carol said confidently. But as soon as she finished her word, the Dark Red Scythe pierced her heart!
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t hesitate!” Dio said as he pulled the scythe out of Carol’s body indifferently. Carol immediately looked at Dio with a puzzled look on her face. She didn’t expect Dio to actually do something like this. Didn’t he care about this woman’s life? If he didn’t care about her life, why would he go so far to save her?
Carol immediately spat out a huge amount of blood as she still couldn’t comprehend Dio’s action. She wanted to ask what Dio was thinking, but before she had a chance to do so, she fell to the ground as she had no strength left to stand. As soon as Carol was dead, Ebony Mau’s spirit immediately left her body! Dio didn’t know this fact, but he immediately used Reality Overwrite to erase Carol’s wound and tried to bring her back to life!
Ebony Mau’s Spirit Possession itself was an ability with a low chance of success, but even then, it will always succeed if he used it repetitively! He originally wanted to take the Power Stone from Dio with Carol’s body and bring it back to Thanos. He knew that he wouldn’t survive fighting Dio on his own, so he tried to manipulate Dio by taunting him to attack Carol’s body!
However, he never expected Dio to really attack Carol’s body! He couldn’t stay at a corpse as his soul would dissipate too if he did something like that, so he had no choice but to leave! Now, his soul was a little bit special as it still could interact with a physical object, but it also meant that Dio could see Ebony Mau’s soul just fine!
Unfortunately for Ebony Mau, this wasn’t something that he should be doing as he was vulnerable in this state. So, he grabbed the Power Gem and tried to escape once more!
Dio was annoyed and instantly summoned [The World] and [King Crimson] to block off Ebony Mau’s escape route! “Why are you so keen on escaping right now? Don’t you want to play a little bit?” Dio said as he grabbed the Power Stone from Ebony Mau’s hand.
“You can’t kill me! I have sent out the coordinate of this place to Master, and he will be here at any moment! but if you give the Power Stone to me, I can ask the Master to spare you later!” Ebony Mau said nervously.
Too bad for him, Dio ignored him and ordered the [World] to dispose of his soul!
