Chapter 904: Encounter With Yin Ruobing Again
Jiang Yi took an hour to travel across 30 miles. The difference between the Dragon Flames Divine Shield and the Thunder Fire Divine Shield was too huge, forcing Jiang Yi to pause after traveling a certain distance, and he also had to maintain a high mental concentration. Fortunately, there was a divine shield and a Black Iron Armor inside the Dragon Flames Divine Shield. Otherwise, he would have died multiple times.
After arriving at the ruins of the city, Jiang Yi immediately scanned the place with his divine senses and used his Divine Perception to scan the area of a few dozen miles. After making sure no one was here, he quickly searched the ruins of the city.
After searching for around ten minutes, Jiang Yi had a face of disappointment. It was unknown if this ruin had been searched through before or just earlier because he couldn’t find anything. Not even a damaged pseudo-divine artifact.
Despite the case, he still conducted a detailed search in case anything was overlooked. Since this city only had a radius of 30 miles, he would be able to search it thoroughly in a short period of time.
“What kind of race is this ancient race? Their bones are hard and solid, and they can probably reach the Heaven Monarch Realm just with their physical body, right? Since this race was so powerful, why did they suddenly go extinct? Why did the city become a ruin?”
Jiang Yi could see countless bones covering the ground of the ruin, and it was a ghastly sight as he could see plenty of children’s bones. His heart sank as he could refer to the bones and imagine the scene when this ancient race was suddenly wiped out.
“Eh? There is a key?”
In the mud and rocks under the castle, Jiang Yi’s divine senses discovered a giant key which was stained with rust. The key wasn’t revolving with any splendor, and since it had rusted, it most definitely was not a treasure.
Jiang Yi didn’t pay any attention to it as this place was searched by others, and they must have also found this key. He reckoned that this key was used for opening the big castle gate; if not, it wouldn’t have been left in this place.
“Something isn’t right…”
When Jiang Yi was about to leave, his mind flashed with a thought. One of his hands reached under the ruin and dug through the mud and rocks to retrieve that rusty bronze key.
After taking a closer look, his ancient divine essence ring flashed, and another giant key appeared in his other hand. It looked exactly the same as the key he had picked up, but the teeth of the keys were different.
“There truly isn’t much of a difference!”
Jiang Yi frowned and looked at the two keys. One of them was when he bought it in the White Dragon Archipelago’s White Tiger Island for one million celestial stones. The seller of the key had mentioned that this key was obtained in a ruin located in the East Imperial Continent. Jiang Yi didn’t bother about it after he bought it, and he didn’t expect to obtain another key here which looked almost the same and made of the same exact material.
“What exactly are these keys used for? What kind of treasure vault are they meant to open?”
Jiang Yi took a few glances and didn’t find anything peculiar. He helplessly tossed the keys into his ring and continued to search. It was a pity that he didn’t have any gain after searching the entire city’s ruin.
“Divine Perception!”
He sat cross-legged in the corner of the ruin and released his Divine Perception to the limit. Soon enough, he had discovered another ruin which was three hundred miles to the north. He had also noticed a large team approaching his direction from the east, but at a slow speed. He scanned those people and didn’t recognize any of them, and so he no longer paid any attention.
“Let’s go!”
He didn’t know where to find the Fire Snake Orchid. He simply knew that searching the ruins of the cities would allow him to find other things, and there was nothing but wilderness in the other places. He had no choice but to rush to the city in the north.
This time, he similarly used the dragon flames shield to endure and paused every hundred miles. He would dig a pit and use his Divine Perception to scout, making it much safer.
A journey of three hundred miles, which would normally take him 15 minutes at most, had taken him one day. Of course, he had dug a pit in the midst of the journey and rested for one hour. There were just too many astral winds on the outside, and his mental concentration was constantly tensed up, making him very exhausted.
After stepping in the ruin, he noticed that this ruin was two times bigger than the previous ruin. Furthermore, this ruin had yet to be searched through. He had found some strange treasures on some skeletons with ease like some pelt-type armor, a wooden sword with glittering runic patterns, and things that he didn’t know the usages for. Anyway, he stored them first before thinking about it.
“Pseudo-divine artifact!”
Below the ruin, he had discovered a battle ax that was held by a skeleton. The aura presence on the surface of the battle ax was just like a pseudo-divine artifact.
“This is considered a small gain!”
Jiang Yi peeled apart the mud and rocks to retrieve the black battle ax and was very satisfied after he swung it a few times. He didn’t have a lack of pseudo-divine artifact, but if he could get more pseudo-divine artifacts, it would mean a higher chance of obtaining a spirit-connected cardinal treasure. The previous pseudo-divine artifact might not be able to achieve a spiritual connection, but it didn’t mean that the next one wouldn’t, right?
“Continue searching!”
It was a wonderful feeling to find treasures in such ruins, and Jiang Yi was scanning around with high spirits. However, his divine senses could only scan a radius of 300 meters, making the search rather troublesome. If he was on the outside, a casual scan using his divine senses would allow him to find all the locations of the treasures clearly.
After searching for 30 minutes, Jiang Yi had searched through half the city; and he had obtained much more strange treasures like wooden swords and pelt armors with radiating runic patterns.
However, he was sure that these treasures weren’t valuable as their strength wasn’t powerful. He used the Black Iron Heavy Sword to cleave on one of the pelt armors. The pelt armor might not be damaged, but a scar was left behind, which meant that the defensive ability wasn’t tough.
It was still better than nothing, and he should still keep it no matter what kind of treasure it was. There might be uses for them in the future. He even obtained a few stalks of herbs, but he didn’t know what kind of spirit herbs they were. He had to appraise them after exiting the ruin.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
When Jiang Yi had thoroughly searched through the entire ruins of the city, there was a sky-piercing sound that came from the west. Immediately after, eleven women flew over rapidly. Jiang Yi scanned with his divine senses and was instantly surprised, and he was preparing to flee.
The one who came was someone he was familiar with. It was Yin Ruobing!
She led ten gorgeous women who should all be around the age of 27 or 28 and were very formidable. Three of them were actually at the peak stage of the Heaven Monarch Realm. Jiang Yi didn’t dare to meet her face-to-face as he was afraid of a sudden conflict.
“Don’t move! Otherwise, you will be killed without mercy!”
He didn’t want to cause trouble, but the Yin Clan’s people didn’t have any intention to let him go. An icy cold female’s voice echoed, and multiple killing intents were locked onto him. There were three who chased after him like rainbow light, and they were several times faster than him. There was no choice as they were peak-stage Heaven Monarchs.
Jiang Yi was grumbling in his heart. A flexible sword appeared in his hand while the Fire Spirit Pearl silently appeared in his palm. He was getting ready to release the Divine Sound Heaven Skill and his Thunder Fire protection.
“Sister Xing, don’t be rude!”
Yin Ruobing lightly tipped on the ground with her bare feet and floated over with seven others like a fairy. She had a faint smile when looking at Jiang Yi, and her pleasant voice echoed again: “This Young Master doesn’t have to be nervous. We are not here to plunder your treasures. We just want to ask you something.”
Jiang Yi felt a slight relief and cupped his hands before speaking indifferently, “Young Lady Yin, please ask.”
Yin Ruobing let out a smile and asked, “Has Young Master seen a lake filled with lava? Or did you find a place that is especially hot?”
“A lake filled with lava? Especially hot?”
Jiang Yi’s mind shook a little. There was actually such a place in the Purgatory Ruin? The Fire Snake Orchid had a fire in its name; could it actually be at the lava lake? He muttered for a moment and didn’t answer Yin Ruobing’s question. Instead, he asked in return, “Young Lady Yin, are there any spirit herbs in the lake?”
“Presumptuous!”
One of the gorgeous women was infuriated as she spoke coldly, “Don’t ask anything unnecessary. Just answer the question.”
Jiang Yi scanned a cold look at her and sneered while looking at Yin Ruobing. “Young Lady Yin, is your clansmen all so overbearing?”
“Young Master, apologies!” Yin Ruobing’s eyes turned cold as she glared at the gorgeous woman and said, “Sister Xing, if you still behave like this, then stop following me.”
The peak-stage Heaven Monarch called Sister Xing got frantic as she quickly bowed and said, “Young Lady, please don’t be angry. I dare not anymore.”
Yin Ruobing nodded before she looked at Jiang Yi and said, “I do not wish to hide this from the Young Master. There are indeed many spirit herbs in the lake, and many of them cannot be found on the outside and are abnormally precious. Like the Earth Star Lotus, Day Cordyceps, Fire Snake Orchid… if Young Master is willing to tell us the location of the lake, I will be willing to offer you a satisfying reward.”
“The Fire Snake Orchid is there indeed!”
Jiang Yi’s eyes lit up, and he lowered his head to mutter for a long time before he finally lifted his head to reply, “Young Lady Yin, I do not know where the lake is, but we can work together. I can lead you to find that lake!”
…
