Wendy did not feel Brian’s words comfort but warm. She answered with a bitter smile.

“I know, Brian, I know we can’t be together, but I can’t control myself. I need time to forget the six years
of the time we spend together. Never mind, I will get over.”

Wendy did not say words to stick to Brian, but she was hurtful to say that.

“Brian, I am sorry for what happened today. My Mom ran out after she asked me some questions, I am
sorry I failed to stop her. I am sorry she hit Winwin.”

Wendy explained to Brain with regret and sincerity, hoping that Brian would not hate her, so she chose
to sacrifice her mother. It worth if Brian did not hate her.

“Brian, please say sorry to Winwin for me. I will apologize to her when I am well. She can slap on me
and scold me.”

Wendy said pitifully.

“She did not hate you. It was she told me to see you. No matter it was misunderstanding or not, I don’t
want it happen again. If you hurt Winwin, again, don’t blame me for being rude.”

Brian dare not believe Wendy again because she had lied too many times and he could not tell which
words of her were truth or false.

He had no love but only pity to Wendy now.

“Brian, it was my fault, I didn’t get to know the truth and hit Winnie. I am sorry, please don’t be angry at
Wendy.”

Zoe apologized before Brian said a word. She was afraid of Brian’s cold eyes, and she’d better

Zoe was shocked and could not believe it. But Brian would not lie. She now understood why Brian
insisted to break up with Wendy.

Brian said in a domineering manner and then he added.

“Zoe, I have two children and two children could not leave their mother. But if Wendy accept it at the
beginning, we would not end up like this.”

“Yes, you are right. No child could leave his mother. Brian, but Wendy…”

Zoe wanted to apologized for Wendy, but Brian felt it pointless.

“Zoe, please let me finish.”

Brian interrupted her and continued.

“I had been in a relationship with Wendy for six years, and it would ok for me to live with her for a
lifetime even if I don’t love her, but what she had done makes me realized that she is not suitable to be
the stepmother of the children.”

Brian said differently.

“In those years, I asked her to give birth a child for me, she insisted to go abroad. I did not stop her, but
I urged her to go back for years, and she refused. Zoe, how many men can wait for a woman for six
years?”

“I confirmed with her that she would not come back, so we broke up, but when I decided to be with
Winnie, she came back. I accepted her. Was this Winnie’s fault? Why did she shrink the responsibility
to Winnie and harm her and my children?”



Brian said angrily. He wanted Wendy do understand that they could not be together again.

“Zoe, I can’t be with Wendy again, you better advise her. Let’s have a peaceful break up. If she dares
do anything to Winnie and children, she would end up like Penny.”

With that, he left. No matter that, he could not be with Wendy again.

Zoe wanted to stop Brian, but she could not say anything. Looking at his back and her resolute attitude,
she said nothing.

What Brian said made sense. If Wendy did not leave in those years, Winnie would not show up. And it
was truth that Wendy was in hesitation before she came back.

Brian had given her chance, but she did not seize it.

Zoe came back to ward angrily. She wanted to persuade Wendy to give up, but seeing that Wendy was

Zoe scolded Wendy loudly, wishing to release her angry and wake Wendy up.

“You know it? Did Brian tell you?”

Wendy asked her mother in tears.

“Brian has told me everything. He had been waiting for you for six years, he is spoony. He accepted
you when you are back, but why didn’t you turn a blind eye on Winnie? Which man has no woman
outside? Can’t you just see Winnie as a mistress?”

Zoe felt it was a pity for Wendy to lose Brian, and it was Wendy did not seize the chance.

“I can’t stand it, I can accept that my husband has a woman outside.”

Wendy said angrily to her mother. She was sure that she was not tolerant, or she would not have
broken up with Brian.

“What quality do you have to require others? You don’t have only one man, why do you require Brain
only loves you? Break up with Brian, if you dare to cause troubles again, I will leave you alone.”

Zoe now knew her husband’s mood and knew what he said was the best choice for Wendy.

Thomas went out and did not come back till the time for dinner.

understandable that Luke was there, but it was annoying that Megan was there.

“Grandpa Thomas, you are back.”

Megan greeted politely. Her aunt had told her that she was now one of the Bennet family.



“Yes.”

He answered indifferently.

“Uncle Thomas, you are back.”

Stella greeted him. she had saw his cold attitude to Megan, but she said nothing about it.

“Yes, where is Joshua?”

He asked Stella.

“He has a party and will come back later.”

Stella with a smile, because Megan’s identity had been known.

“What is your grandpa?”

Thomas asked Stella while he looked at Megan with distain.

“He is in the study.”

Stella gave a bight smile, because her grandpa had been waiting in the study for a while.

“You play with the kids, I go and see your grandpa.”

With that, he went straight to the study.

After Thomas left, Megan came to Stella and asked with timidness.

“Aunt, doesn’t Grandpa Thomas like me?”

him, I can take care of him, I can pick him from school. Why let him stay with Winnie. We are not
