Chapter 759: A Night Snake

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
If it wasn’t for the patient who was infected with poisonous insects, Wang Yao would have been able to leave that day and go straight to the capital. In two days, the poisonous insects in the man’s body would be cleaned up. Wang Yao would prescribe another medicine for him to get fully recovered.
“Well, I will be waiting for you,” Su Xiaoxue said.
The couple talked for a while before hanging up the phone.
Wang Yao suddenly thought, Oh, I don’t know what happened to the patient from Weinan!
The day passed quickly. When night set in, things became quiet. Jia Zizai was lying on the bed staring outside. He kept thinking about what happened earlier. It had been quite exciting.
He tried hard to turn over but was unable to. He sighed and thought, I really want to learn from him!
Most people had something they pursued in life. Jia Zizai now had a new pursuit, which no one knew about. In some ways, his pursuit was similar to Zhong Liuchuan’s.
The sky outside suddenly lit up as thunder and lightning broke through the silent night. Rain quickly began falling from the sky. It came down fiercely, hitting the roof and windows with a loud sound.
After 30 minutes, the ferocious storm stopped. It quickly grew quiet. Suddenly, Jia Zizai heard a strange sound. He thought it was perhaps a mouse. He quickly realized it was a snake.
He instantly became flustered. Normally, the snake would mean nothing to him. Unfortunately, he was tied up, and his body was weak.
This snake seemed to have heard something and slithered toward the bed.
“Damn it! What are you doing?” Jia Zizai shouted at the snake.
The snake turned its head. It was very aggressive. It lunged forward and bit Jia Zizai’s calf. “Ow!”
He was surprised the snake was actively attacking. He soon realized the snake was poisonous. This wasn’t the first time he had been bitten by a snake, nor the first time he was bitten by a poisonous snake. He was clear whether the snake was poisonous or non-toxic.
His body quickly reacted. This snake was a viper.
“Zhong Liuchuan!” he screamed with all his strength.
Lightning cut through the sky. His voice seemed to be blocked by the thunderous sound.
This snake venom broke out quickly. He vaguely heard the sound of the door opening. The lights in the room lit up.
“What happened?” Zhong Liuchuan entered the room.
When he turned on the light, he saw the snake biting Jia Zizai’s calf. It was a very thin black snake and only 15 inches long.
A light flashed as Zhong Liuchuan broke the snake into two pieces. The snake’s head was still biting Jia Zizai’s calf. When he looked at the snake, he knew that it was a rare poisonous snake.
“This is not good,” he said.
Zhong Liuchuan quickly took out his phone and called Wang Yao, who was on the Nanshan Hill.
“Snake? Why is there a poisonous snake?” Wang Yao was surprised to hear the situation.
He lived in the village his whole life. He knew there were snakes, but he had never heard of poisonous snakes being in the area.
Instead of rushing down the mountain, he stayed and made a decoction. Since it was poison, leaf detoxification grass was enough.
Wang Yao quickly prepared two doses of an antidote and went down the mountain. The wind and rain were strong. Lightning and thunder filled the sky. With just a few jumps, he descended the mountain. One step was 10 feet, so his speed was extremely fast. He was soon at the house where Jia Zizai was being held.
“How’s it going?” he asked.
“He has already passed out,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
Jia Zizai was lying on the bed. He seemed short of breath, and his face was purple.
Wang Yao was surprised. It had only been 30 minutes since he received the call. He had been shortly delayed preparing the medicine, but it was out of his expectation that this toxin was so powerful.
“Keep away,” he said.
Zhong Liuchuan moved to the side.
“This snake venom is very overbearing!” Wang Yao instantly knew the poison.
“Can he be saved?” Zhong Liuchuan asked.
“Ah, the poison is just strong, but detoxification will not be a problem,” Wang Yao replied.
After Jia Zizai was given the detoxification soup, the effect was obvious. The toxins in his body quickly dissolved, and his breathing became smoother.
Wang Yao felt his pulse. “He should be fine.”
Neither he nor Zhong Liuchuan was in a hurry to leave.
After a while, Zhong Anxin came in from next door. She asked, “Brother, what’s wrong with him?”
“It’s nothing,” Zhong Liuchuan said. “He was poisoned, but he will be fine. Go back to sleep.”
“Oh, good.” Before Zhong Anxin left, she looked at Jia Zizai. She thought, When did such a neighbor move here?
“This is strange. Where did this poisonous snake come from?” Wang Yao looked down at the snake that had been slashed into two pieces by Zhong Liuchuan.
There weren’t many snakes in the north, and even fewer snakes near the village. Perhaps this was a special case. Snakes did not normally actively attack humans. In fact, they were often more afraid of humans than humans were of them, so they actively avoided humans unless they were particularly aggressive in their territories.
“I also think it is strange,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“With such strong aggression, shouldn’t it be mutated?” Wang Yao asked.
The snake looked like a small intestine, which he had seen before. The difference was this snake’s scales had turned black and it had terrible toxins.
Xishan? Wang Yao suddenly thought of the bugs.
“What do you say?” Zhong Liuchuan asked.
“Ah, nothing,” Wang Yao replied.
Jia Zizai woke up.
“How do you feel?” Wang Yao asked.
“To tell you the truth, I don’t feel good,” he replied after taking a deep breath.
He was not only weak but also numb. He couldn’t feel the leg that had been bitten by the snake.
“The snake’s venom was very strong, but you are safe now,” Wang Yao said. “I will prescribe you medicine tomorrow.”
“Thank you, Mr. Wang,” Jia Zizai said.
Wang Yao just smiled.
“Do you hate me?” Jia Zizai asked. “I can’t tell since I probably got what I deserved.”
“Have a good night’s sleep. It will be better when you wake up.” Wang Yao pushed his hand in the air.
Heat shrouded Jia Zizai’s body. The feeling of softness and weakness retreated but quickly came back. The former was because of the temporary withdrawal of Wang Yao’s restriction on him. The latter was because of the remnant snake venom.
Wang Yao collected the snake and left with Zhong Liuchuan.
“Is he really OK?” Zhong Liuchuan asked.
“It’s nothing,” Wang Yao said. “The snake venom should be resolved within two days.”
“OK, let’s go home and rest,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
Rain was still falling from the sky.
“Right, come to the clinic tomorrow,” Wang Yao said. “I have something for you.”
“OK,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
Zhong Anxin heard their voices. She came outside with an umbrella. “Mr. Wang, are you still going up the mountain at this time?”
“Yes,” Wang Yao replied. “Go into the house. The rain is very strong.”
“Well, have a safe journey,” she said as she went inside.
The rain was very heavy. Between the sky and the earth, the rain was like a screen with strong wind. Even an umbrella was useless. Wang Yao took nothing with him as entered into the dark rainy night.
“Brother, he didn’t have an umbrella,” Zhong Anxin said.
“I saw that,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
“His clothes were not wet at all,” Zhong Anxin said.
“Mr. Wang is very special.” Zhong Liuchuan smiled and touched his sister’s head.
“Hey, when did the neighbor next door move in?” she asked.
“When you went to school,” Zhong Liuchuan said. “Don’t visit him. He is a bad guy. ”
His sister had never been deeply involved in worldly affairs. She was an innocent child who didn’t need to about Jia Zizai’s lies.
“Oh, got it,” Zhong Anxin said.
“OK, time to go back to the house to sleep,” Zhong Liuchuan said.
Rain was still falling from the sky. Wang Yao quickly returned to Nanshan Hill. His clothes were completely dry.
When he got inside his cottage, he took out the snake and carefully looked at it under the lamp.
