Right! This is my rule!
This was not going to be over.
After all, Luo Donglai’s family was very powerful. His death even attracted the attention of the local provincial government. He must be a significant personnel when he was alive.
Wang Yao made a few phone calls. He needed to be prepared.
“Luo, Luo Donglai?” Tian Tuyuan immediately knew who Wang Yao was talking about.
“I think so,” said Wang Yao.
“He was a very powerful person, one of the richest people in Ji City. Is he dead?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“Yes, and his death has something to do with me,” said Wang Yao.
“Why?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“He came to see me twice before he was dead,” said Wang Yao. “He died one day after he had seen me.”
Tian Yuantu kept silent for a while.
“I suggest you to contact Sun Zhengrong or people in Beijing, in case you are blamed for Luo Donglai’s death,” said Tian Yuantu.
“His children have already been to my house. They tried to blame me for their father’s death,” said Wang Yao.
“What happened then?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“Well, I guess his son is deaf now,” said Wang Yao calmly.
Crack! Something seemed to have broken at the other side of the phone.
“You are not serious!” said Tian Yuantu, admiration clear in his voice. “His family members have never gotten along with each other. His four children will definitely fight for his money.”
“Do you think his death came from inside of his family?” asked Wang Yao.
“I’m not sure. Get prepared,” said Tian Yuantu.
“Okay,” said Wang Yao.
As Wang Yao was about to ring Sun Zhengrong, Sun Zhengrong called him instead.
“I’m sorry, Dr. Wang,” apologized Sun Zhengrong as soon as Wang Yao picked up the phone.
“Why do you apologize?” asked Wang Yao with surprise.
“I recommended Luo Donglai to see you. I didn’t expect things would turn out like this,” said Sun Zhengrong.
It was Sun Zhengrong!
What a coincidence!
Sun Zhengrong explained to Wang Yao that he and Luo Donglai were good friends. He recommended Luo Donglai see Wang Yao, but didn’t expect Luo Donglai would end up dead. He just got the news.
“I see, I was going to call you to talk about this,” said Wang Yao directly.
“Have the policemen spoken to you?” asked Sun Zhengrong.
“Yes,” said Wang Yao.
“I bet his death is related to his money,” said Sun Zhengrong.
“His money has nothing to do with me,” said Wang Yao.
“His four children are not from the same wife,” said Sun Zhengrong.
“Really?” said Wang Yao with surprise, but it still had nothing to do with him.
“They will try to frame you. It’s complicated. I started this. Leave it to me. Don’t worry about it,” said Sun Zhengrong.
“That’s good,” said Wang Yao.
It seemed that Wang Yao’s problem had been solved, but they were just beginnning.
He was taken to the Haiqu Police Department.
His father was very concerned when the policemen came to take Wang Yao. Wang Fenghua knew the villagers were going to point their fingers at Wang Yao.
People would gossip about this.
Wang Yao was agitated when two policemen came to take him. He wanted to get away from the two policemen, kick them out of his house, and overturn the police car. When he was having such thoughts, the two policemen were terrified, as if a storm was on its way, or the land was going to slip in front of them.
Who is this young man?
“I want to make a phone call,” said Wang Yao calmly.
“Okay,” said one of the policemen.
Wang Yao was just a suspect and had been cooperative so far. So the policemen were not too harsh on him.
Wang Yao called Sun Zhengrong.
“What? I’ll deal with it immediately,” said Sun Zhengrong on the other side of the phone angrily.
You are asking for this! In business, friends today could become enemies tomorrow.
If Luo Donglai was still alive, Sun Zhengrong would show some courtesy. Now he wss dead, but his family were still pushing. They really made Sun Zhengrong angry.
The police car went off.
Wang Fenghua kept smoking at home.
He couldn’t think of a good way to help his son. Eventually he called Wang Mingbao, Wang Yao’s best friend.
“What? Yao was taken by the policemen? Don’t worry, I’ll try to help him,” said Wang Mingbao.
After he had hung up the phone, he kicked a chair aside due to anger.
“Shit? Who is doing this to my friend?” cursed Wang Mingbao.
He immediately found out what had happened.
“Luo Group? Is it a big business?” asked Wang Mingbao on the phone to Tian Yuantu.
“Yeah, one of the top private companies in Qi province,” said Tian Yuantu.
“Shit!” cursed Wang Mingbao again.
“What happened?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“Yao was taken by the policemen because of them,” said Wang Mingbao.
“Because of Luo Donglai’s death?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“I think so,” said Wang Mingbao.
Tian Yuantu kept silent for some time.
“Leave it to me,” said Tian Yuantu finally.
He called his old schoolmate.
They were in Haiqu. His old schoolmate was the leader of Haiqu.
He was Tian Yuantu’s last recourse. Tian Yuantu wouldn’t have asked him for help if he wasn’t desperate. They used to go to school together. Tian Yuantu would rather ask Sun Zhengrong for help.
Human feelings of sympathy was like paper, it would only become thinner and thinner.
“What? Wang Yao was caught by the policemen? Why?” asked Secretary Yang with surprise.
“Because of Luo Donglai,” said Tian Yuantu.
“What does it have anything to do with Wang Yao?” asked Secretary Yang.
“He went to see Wang Yao before he passed,” said Tian Yuantu.
“Okay, I’ll see what I can do,” said Yang Haichuan.
He made another phone call immediately. Wang Yao cured his mother. He knew he should return the favor.
“Hello, Secretary Yang. Yes…Speaking….Don’t worry, we will not charge the wrong person. I see….I see…” After the person in charge had hung up the phone, he made another call.
“What is the progress of Luo Donglai’s case?” asked the person in charge.
“We’ve caught a suspect. We are going to interview him soon,” said a policeman on the other side of the phone.
“Who did you catch? Make sure you get all the information and evidence. Is it clear?” said the person in charge.
No, I have to keep an eye on what they are doing! The person in charge of the Police Department was worried. He was not sure if his men understood what he meant. If they hadn’t, he would be in trouble, because he had received instructions from the leader of Haiqu.
They could neither allow the bad guy to be let off the hook nor catch the wrong person.
However, in this case, their priority was to let go the person who was not guilty.
They needed to make sure Wang Yao was going to be fine.
Who is that Wang Yao? What he does for a living? What makes him attract attention from our leader?
The chief police officer rushed downstairs. Meanwhile, the policemen were interviewing Wang Yao.
“Hello, Chief,” said a policewoman who appeared to be busy.
“Hello, how is everything going?” asked the chief police officer.
“All good,” said the policewoman.
“How is Luo Donglai’s case?” asked the chief police officer.
“His family has agreed with autopsy. We have confirmed that he was poisoned to death. However, we couldn’t trace the poison in his body. We have sent all of the samples to the capital city of the province. Hopefully, we will get the results soon. At the moment we have two prime suspects. One is his secretary, the other is the doctor who treated him right before his death,” said the policewoman.
“What is the motive?” asked the chief police officer.
“We don’t know yet. His secretary has worked for him for nearly 10 years. Luo Donglai trusted him very much and paid him well. I really can’t see why he would have poisoned Luo Donglai, unless someone bought him out to do it. As for that doctor, he didn’t know Luo Donglai at all. I heard that Sun Zhengrong from Dao City recommended Luo Donglai to see him,” said the policewoman.
“Sun Zhengrong?” asked the chief police officer.
“Yes,” said the policewoman.
“I see. By the way, make sure you treat that doctor with every courtesy. He doesn’t have a motive and we don’t have any evidence. Make sure you treat him well,” said the chief police officer.
“Sure, I know,” said the policewoman.
Not until the policewoman walked out of the office had she realized the purpose of chief police officer’s visit.
He came for that doctor. More precisely, he came to make sure that doctor was going to be fine.
We must treat that doctor with courtesy.
In the Police Department, no one was silly.
This was not the first time Wang Yao had come to a police station. The only difference was that this one was located in a larger building.
It is strange that they suddenly became much nicer to me. Wang Yao could feel a shift in the attitude of the policemen addressing him.
“Yes, speaking…Don’t worry Mayor Lin, I will personally keep an eye on this case. Yes….Okay….No problem.”
The chief police officer received another call to ask about the same person; a doctor called about Wang Yao.
What’s going on today? Two significant person called to ask about the same person!
He took it very seriously, so he turned around to walk back into the Police Department.
“You don’t need to interview him anymore. Just let him go,” said the chief police officer.
“Thank you for your cooperation,” said the policeman interviewing Wang Yao.
“No problem,” said Wang Yao.
“We may have to bother you again in near future,” said the policeman.
“That’s fine,” said Wang Yao.
Wang Yao stayed calm the whole time, but he didn’t think this thing was over. Even if Luo Donglai’s family decided not to continue to pursue it, he wouldn’t let it go.
When he went back home, his concerned parents had been waiting for him.
“How was it, Yao?” asked Zhang Xiuying.
As soon as they saw Wang Yao, they wanted to know everything that had happened in the police station. They were very concerned.
“What exactly happened?” asked Zhang Xiuying.
“Nothing big. One of my patients had some problems. They wanted me to help with investigation,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, we hope everything is fine,” said Zhang Xiuying.
Even though only one day had passed, people in the village had started to gossip about Wang Yao.
They said Wang Yao had been practicing medicine illegally and he killed a patient by offering the patient illegal drugs.
Wang Yao came back to the village safe and sound.
“I thought he was caught by the policemen. How did he come back so fast?” said a villager.
“I know!” said another villager.
Those villagers were surprised, confused, and unhappy.
Wang Yao had no idea what was on their minds.
Then he received one phone call after another, all from his friends, who were worried about him. They asked him the same questions, and he replied all of them.
“What? You let him go? Why?!” Luo Donglai’s wife received the news that the police had released Wang Yao.
“What do you want exactly? You kept asking us to take him in, but you couldn’t offer any solid evidence,” said a police officer.
“He didn’t confess? Did that bitch and Sun Zhengrong conspire to kill Donglai?” shouted Luo Donglai’s wife on the phone.
“Ms Gu, you can’t make up stories,” said the police officer.
“Evidence? Huh!” Ms Gu hung up the phone.
It was getting late.
Wang Yao was looking up at the sky on the hill.
He thought a lot, and didn’t go to sleep until the middle of the night.
He left Nanshan Hill early next morning. After notifying his parents, he went out right away.
He went to meet Tian Yuantu.
“Hey, how can I help you?” asked Tian Yuantu.
“I want to find out who framed me,” said Wang Yao.
“Okay, I’ll get onto it right away.” Tian Yuantu immediately started to investigate.
Luo Donglai had four children. Wang Yao needed to know who framed him.
“I know who framed you. The brother and sister who came to your home the other day. The brother became deaf.” Tian Yuantu told Wang Yao the outcome of investigation as soon as he had gotten the answer.
“How did they do it?” asked Wang Yao.
“They asked a senior officer in Haiqu to help them,” said Tian Yuantu.
“I see, thank you,” said Wang Yao.
“They’ve gone to the provincial government,” said Tian Yuantu.
“I see,” said Wang Yao.
“What do you want to do? Take revenge against them?” asked Tian Yuantu after hesitating for a moment.
“Yes,” said Wang Yao without a moment of hesitation.
Those people scared his family, just because they could!
